Cemetery
It's two weeks since Daphne died and Des is at her grave. He starts to cry.
DES: I don't know why that happens. I wasn't thinking about anything sad, been happening for about two weeks now. One minute I'm fine and the next thing I just fall to pieces. I suppose it's just a matter of time. It's a funny old world isn't it?
Clarkes Backyard
Sally asks Eileen how she is. Eileen says she is worried about Des as he is spending all his time at Daphne's grave. Sally thinks Des should go back to work but Eileen says he won't go. She tells Sally she feels so helpless. Eileen breaks down and tells Sally that Des won't have anything to do with Jamie. Eileen tells herself that she can not go to pieces as everyone is relying on her.
The Coffee Shop
Harold is telling Helen about his problems with Madge. He asks if Helen knows what the problem is but she says she has no idea what is going on. Sally arrives and tells them that Beverly has had Eileen admitted to hospital.
Cemetery
Mike arrives and tells Des he should come home now. Des is withdrawn and Mike tells him that everyone is worried about him. Des asks to be left alone and Mike tells him staying at the cemetery won't bring Daphne back.
The Coffee Shop
Sally tells Mike about Eileen. Beverly has called and told her that Eileen is having a breakdown. She tells him Madge is looking after Jamie
Clarkes
Madge tells Des not to worry as everyone in Ramsay Street will help out with Jamie. Madge starts to prepare dinner and Des sits with Jamie. He opens Daphne's music box and notices it is broken. Madge explains that Jamie accidentally grabbed the ballerina and it snapped. Des is furious and hands Jamie back to Madge.
Robinsons
Todd and Emma are doing their homework. Katie wants to go to The Coffee Shop but Todd tells her to go away. Emma tells Todd that she's kind of glad Lucy went away as it's given them a chance to be friends.
Clarkes
Des has fixed the music box and apologises to Madge for losing his temper. Mike arrives home and says Des should go back to work. Des isn't responding and heads for his bedroom. Madge tells Mike to be patient as Des has a lot to cope with.
The Coffee Shop
Harold has phoned the hospital to check on Eileen - she is sleeping. Sally asks Harold if he's had any luck with his newspaper articles. Harold tries to change the subject. He tells Sally he may have to look for somewhere else to live if Mrs Mangel loses her divorce settlement tomorrow.
Todd, Katie and Emma arrive and order some milkshakes. When they sit down Harold removes the leftover donuts from their table and insinuates that Todd may be tempted to steal them. Todd is offended and storms out.
Clarkes
Helen arrives to help out with Jamie. Mike tells her Des has gone to Eileen's unit to try and find some new photos of Daphne. Mike thinks it would be easier if there weren't so many reminders of Daphne around. Helen and Madge decide to bag up Daphne's clothes to save Des from doing it.
Outside The Coffee Shop
Harold is angry about Todd's outburst and lectures Sally about the youth of today. Sally laughs and tells Harold he sounds like Georgette from the Dear Georgette column.
Robinsons Backyard
Katie is worried that she and Todd will get into trouble for not buying the quiche. She feels he doesn't care about her anymore and only wants to spend his time with Emma. Sally arrives and brings them a quiche. Todd apologises to her and she says Harold was in the wrong. Todd comments that Harold will really 'get it' one day.
Clarkes
Des arrives and is furious when he sees Daphne's clothes in black bags. Helen apologises and leaves. Mike tells him he has to accept that Daphne is dead for Eileen and Jamie's sake. Des shouts that he is sick and tired of everyone trying to run his life. He tells Mike to pack his bags and get out. Madge intervenes and Mike refuses to leave.
