Piper is sitting at a desk in an office.
PIPER: So, it's official, Piper Willis is an adult! I've entered the real world, the blinkers of childhood oppression have been lifted, my goal in life is suddenly clear, my flower's bloomed...that sounded weird...probably not something I want the whole office to hear! I'm a fully- fledged, strong, independent woman working in the work- place.
PIPER:(imitating a work collegue) Pippa...could you go and get us some coffees?
PIPER:(as herself) Yeah, sure, yep, no probs.
PIPER:(imitating a work collegue) Thanks.
She looks into the camera.
PIPER: I'm doing work experience.
Caption: PIPE UP (with typing noises)
PIPER: So random, but my teacher, that I sometimes, also I'm not allowed to talk about on this channel, she really pulled through this week, and she got me this killer work experience placement. So...thank you, you know who you are. I'm actually working right now, like, me vlogging, *is* working. So basically, I'm at this company called Tech Designs, they saw my vlog and they loved it and that's why I'm here. How cool is that? I'm allowed to vlog. And because everyone's like, super hip, and like...
She holds up a coffee.
PIPER: I'm living the dream, and I'm really excited about it.
She puts on an emotional voice.
PIPER: I'm just so happy!
She goes back to her normal voice.
PIPER: And it's not like they're making me do any cheap or tacky promo for them or anything.
PIPER INTERJECTION: Tech Design!
PIPER: They're just a really...
PIPER INTERJECTION: Tech Design!
PIPER: ...genuine group of people...
PIPER INTERJECTION: Tech Design!
PIPER: ...who want to make a difference in this new online tech space. Tech Design. What? Tech Design.
PIPER:(imitating a work collegue) Tech Design?
PIPER: Mmm...Tech Design.
She drinks out of a mug with "Tech Design" printed on it.
PIPER: Anyway, I just thought I'd talk about what it's like to be out in the workplace. It's so amazing here, like, everyone I work with are just genuinely nice people who care about the environment...they ride their bikes to work.
PIPER:(imitating a work collegue) Don't you love the environment?
PIPER:(imitating a work collegue) I *love* the environment.
PIPER:(imitating a work collegue) I love the environment too!
PIPER: I think I like the environment a little bit...too much.
She winks.
PIPER: And at lunch, they have this cart that rocks up at mid- day and has like, the best food on it. Paleo, vegetarian, organic, GMO- free, sugar- free, fat- free, gluten- free, *free*- free! Like, as in free, like, on Tuesdays, it's free. I've never been in a place where everyone is just *so* like- minded. You know when you're having a conversation with someone and they say something, and you say, 'Oh, wow, that doesn't sound right' or 'Oh my God, that was stupid, racist *and* sexist!' But here, everyone is just so on the same wavelength, and I'm talking to people and just nodding and agreeing because they're just saying what's inside my head. It's insane, and my boss, Denise - I love you Denise. I don't think she'll be watching this...kidding, she will be, because everyone here's super- cool and watches my vlogs! Made me realise that I want to boss like you one day. You've made me realise a lot of things, like, this shouldn't be called work experience. It should be called 'Quit School and Start Working Now Before You Miss Out On An Amazing Opportunity Like This' experience.
She sits back in her chair.
PIPER: And on top of everything, everyone around me is following their dreams and making a difference, and they're getting paid to do that. Like, they're getting money. And I'm sure that these people around me have good days and bad days, but...you can tell how much they love doing what they're doing and actually happy to be here. If you know what makes you happy, and if you know what you're passionate about, that's incredible and you should find a job where you can get paid to do what you love and talk about what your passionate about and to be happy. Being paid to be happy sounds pretty good. Who doesn't want to be happy? I mean, look at me, look how happy I am!
She grins into the camera.
PIPER: Anyway, I actually do have to run to get these coffee orders...cool, got to start somewhere, right? Anyway, thank you to everyone who commented "ETCat" last week, I promise the photo will be coming soon, but yeah, I'll catch you guys on the flipside. Ciao!
She address the office in general.
PIPER: Bye, office!
OFFICE WORKERS: Bye, Pippa!
Piper looks a bit put out!
