BEN: I don't think he'll care.
XANTHE: You are *so* lucky you know me!
Xanthe barges in to find Ben a better outfit!

He watches her, bemused, as she makes a beeline for his room...

XANTHE: Oh. Well in that case, perfect! Oh, my god, I love it.
She leaps up and starts playing with his hair!
XANTHE: You've got something on your hair, I'll fix that for you...

But Xanthe looks guilty, as Ben’s phone rings.

BEN: Right, are we heading off?
XANTHE: Actually, I need to go to Harold’s.
BEN: Yeah, I’ll come with.
XANTHE: No, I will meet you at the hotel.
She pushes past him coldly and makes for the front door. Ben looks surprised.

Ben and Xanthe are talking by the water.
BEN: I’m sorry about what I said before. I didn’t mean it.
XANTHE: Whatevs. Let’s go.
But Ben can tell that Xanthe is still upset.

Xanthe softens.
XANTHE: What about Angus?
BEN: I don’t care.
Ben smiles at Xanthe.

She takes his hand and he grins as she drags him away.

We now jump to after the explosion at Lassiter’s. Having left the building unscathed, Xanthe and Ben are in the garden at No 26. Xanthe’s looking sad. Ben sits down next to her.

BEN: Yeah.
XANTHE: The Willises are never gonna be able to see them again. It’s so unfair.
Seeing she’s upset, Ben puts an arm around her, and she rests her head on his shoulder.

BEN: Seems stupid to be upset about that now. After everything that’s happened.
He takes her hand and holds it.

XANTHE: Mum always said there’s nothing that can’t be cured by shopping!
BEN: We really shouldn’t spend the money. But I suppose there’s no harm in window- shopping.

Ben rearranges his hair in alarm.

Xanthe rushes towards a clothes shop window, gesticulating excitedly to Ben.

She punches him playfully. We then cut to Ben trying on a ridiculous yellow jacket and sunglasses, as Xanthe films him.

BEN: Come on. It’s fantastic!
We next cut to Ben pulling a boot off Xanthe’s leg.
XANTHE: Harder!
An unimpressed shopkeeper emerges.
SHOPKEEPER: Is everything okay here?
XANTHE: Yeah, fine.

XANTHE: Thanks! That could have been real awkward.
BEN: … Yeah. I’ll wait outside.
XANTHE: Yes. Mm- hm.
She closes the curtain as he leaves.

They smile at one another. Ben appears to be moving in to kiss her, but they’re interrupted by a loud screeching noise from a passing boat, and they both laugh. Xanthe suddenly has a realisation.
XANTHE: Oh my god, Ben – my bag is gone!

XANTHE: Are you seriously making a joke right now?!
BEN: it’s a few hairbrushes – calm down!
XANTHE: No, you don’t understand – it’s more than that, okay? All the money was in that bag, Ben – all five Gs.

She’s about to open the bumbag.
XANTHE: Erm, you can’t do that. That is illegal.
SHOPKEEPER: Not in this store.
XANTHE: Fine. Then I’ll go and tell the cops that you were flirting with a high school student. Mm- hm – yeah, that’s right, cradlesnatcher!
Xanthe grabs the bumbag and marches out. Ben smiles and waves sheepishly at the shopkeeper, before following Xanthe out of the shop.
