Hospital
Karl asks Susan how bad the pain is, and it's pretty bad. Drew comes to apologise. Stingray is furious with him for hurting Suze and pushes him out of the room. Susan asks Stingray if he feels any different.
STINGRAY: No. It's just... (creepily) I need to eat.
KARL: The canteen's still open.
STINGRAY: Oh sweet!
Susan is worried the same thing is going to happen to her.
Beach
Sonya stands by as Toadie is shouting for Dee.
Hospital
Karl is looking for a cure, saying that there have been similar cases in S America, but it's fringe medicine.
SUSAN: Stop! I can feel it taking hold. Let's just enjoy the time we have left.
Karl insists there are treatment options, but she wants him to promises that she will go with dignity and not become one of "those things". He agrees.
Elsewhere, David is laying into Paul for stealing his wife, and because his psycho son blew up the plane, which killed both Lil and Serena. He says he wants to hurt Paul, who replies that the "freaks" deserve to be put out of their misery. Stingray is listening as David says he's heard about people coming in with bites.
DAVID: What's the connection Paul?
PAUL: David, just don't do anything you might regret, eh?
DAVID: Oh I won't regret it. I'm gonna love it.
He runs out and Stingray watches him go.
No 30
A ghostly figure with bridal veil complete with seaweed decoration walks in. Toadie and Sonya arrive home. Toadie says he always had the feeling that Dee was out there somewhere, and Sonya says at least he tried.
TOADIE: I have you, and I love you. Dee is ancient history.
Dee (aka Blonde Zombie) appears and Sonya screams.
Hospital - corridor outside Susan's room
Karl tells Drew he thinks he's found a cure, but he's worried it might kill Susan. Drew says Karl should test it on him. Karl points out that the virus it kills might be keeping him "alive".
DREW: But it would save Susan, right?
(Later)
Drew is filming a message to Libby and Ben. As we hear this we also see Karl with Susan.
As he sang at their wedding, and as Libby sang at his funeral, Drew recites the lyrics to "Wild Mountain Thyme"
DREW: Summertime is coming. And trees are softly blowing. The wild mountain thyme. All around the purple heather. Will ye go, lassie... (heart monitor flatlines).
