Brennan continues to look over at the suspicious bloke.
BRENNAN'S BOSS: What am I supposed to do about this Mazda?
Brennan turns towards him.
BRENNAN: Sorry. I just need to make a call, and I'll get right on it.
He looks over again at the suspicious bloke.
BRENNAN:(on the phone) I'm calling to report some suspicious activity on Long Street...
Later, Brennan is just finishing his shift.
BRENNAN: You still want me in early tomorrow?
BRENNAN'S BOSS: Seven should do it. You doing anything tonight? Me and a few mates are going to the pub, if you want to join us.
BRENNAN: Thanks, but I've got a lot stuff to sort out.
BRENNAN'S BOSS: They do a great parma, and the waitresses aren't bad on the eye.
BRENNAN: I'm really not up for it.
BRENNAN'S BOSS: Not on the market?
BRENNAN: Taking a break.
BRENNAN'S BOSS: What's her name? (Off Brennan's look) The girl who did a number on you.
BRENNANS: That obvious, huh?
BRENNAN'S BOSS: We've all been there.
BRENNAN: Her name's Kate. But to be honest, I probably did a number on her.
BRENNAN'S BOSS: Well, it gets better, in case you were wondering. Sure you don't want to join us?
BRENNAN: Maybe next time. Thanks anyway.
Brennan walks around the corner, and as he does so, the suspicious guy is watching him from a parked car.
Brennan gets into his own car. He retrieves a photo of himself and Kate from behind the sun- visor and looks at it for a while, sadly. Then he replaces it behind the visor.
He puts the key into the ignition. As he turns the key, the car explodes into a fireball.
