We meet Steph as she is in for a psych evaluation on the 4th February 2013 with her [female] psychologist.
The psychologist isn't fooled by Steph answering 'great' to how she was feeling and asks again how she really is feeling. After a bit of hesitation, Steph eventually admits that she is terrified. That's only natural, she replies and enquires what her plans are for her release and her reply is that she can't make up her mind.
They discuss what her options are and first is living with Lyn but Steph rules that out because of her memories of being incarcerated in the town. The psychologist suggests somewhere near Charlie but that is ruled out too because Steph can't leave the country. Steph is quite taken with starting afresh somewhere where nobody knows her but is reluctant as there are no links.
PSYCHOLOGIST: And then there's Erinsborough.
STEPH: There is.
Steph reveals that the main pull of going back to Erinsborough is seeing Lucas again: it's what's been keeping her going during her time inside, even though she vetoed him coming to see her in prison.
STEPH: All things considered, I think it's worth the risk. I'm going back to Erinsborough.
