Penthouse suite
Nicolette tries to sell her idea to Leo - he wouldn't be just the sperm donor, she wants the three of them to be co- parents and to sell her plan to him, she has 5 points! First is she comes with a precedent - how things worked well with herself and Aaron/David. Second is they want to explore different options, which include unknowns which they wouldn't get if they took up her suggestion. Third is since Kirsta is focused on work, this plan would mean sharing the load more. Fourth is Leo wants the whole newborn baby experience and the final point is the girls - David wanted Isla to have a sibling and likewise Leo wants that too for Abby.
Once he finally speaks, Leo is utterly shocked but flattered at her suggestion but wants to talk to Kirsta first before the three of them start negotiations.
Harolds café
Susan is telling Karl/Holly how things went in Queensland including seeing Harold. In return, Susan gets an update on Zac, although its more from Karl as Holly is occupied with her phone - Andrew is messaging her. Eventually the lass makes her excuses to leave and once she goes, Susan questions Karl about Holly as "she seems a bit off." He looks relived she's noticed that too especially on the back of the warning Aaron gave him. Karl gratefully then agrees with Susan doing a big of digging to see if she can find out what is up with Holly.
Number 26
Taye has ignored Sadie and Max and plans to go ahead with calling their products 'Satay' by sending their prospectus to Shane to get him to invest in their plan. He also has another plan for the three of them - day drinking as apparently that is a good way to discover investors and somewhat reluctantly, Max/Sadie get on board with mixing business and pleasure.
The Waterhole
While waiting for Holly, we hear from Andrew's conversation with Cara that the IT experts have cracked the hard drive.
When Holly arrives, Andrew gives her the good news - the trip to Sandy Point is on… but the bad news is that there is no overnighting due to Felix's arrival, which Andrew has to be there for. "That's better than nothing," she acknowledges as it will still allow then to "daydream about our new life." Just as Holly is enquiring about his life at home, she spots someone coming into the bar and quickly says she needs to leave.
That person would be Susan who plans to hang around with a glass of wine since Karl has gone home. Holly doesn't look too amused and just about jumps down Susan's throat when she spots Andrew is in the bar too and plans to go over and say hello since she's been away. Thankfully and much to Holly's relief, Andrew heads out of the bar and so with a total change of persona, Holly tells Susan to take a seat before getting her a glass of wine!
Number 24
Jane is in shock after Nicolette tells her what she suggested to Leo. While things might have worked with David/Aaron, Jane reminds Nicolette that this won't exactly be the same, not just because they're straight but Krista could change her mind over having a baby of her own. Jane is also struggling to get her head around the fact that Abby/Isla would share a sibling as well as being cousins.
NICOLETTE: If it's good enough for the European royals, it's good enough for us!
Nicolette asks for her mum to be a bit "more open- minded" and Jane admits she is tyring but "it feels different." It looks like both are going to be interested in the conversation Leo and Krista will be having!
Penthouse suite
Leo's conversation with Krista doesn't exactly get off the best start when she comes home and tells him how Jane has agreed to be Sadie's make up model, however it would have been better to have had Amanda's daughter and granddaughter if it wasn't for Nicolette saying no, as "that woman can hold a grudge!" over "what happened with Amanda's will."
Subtly Leo tries to find out how Krista is with Nicolette these days and it would appear that all is good… "until you cross her!" She does wonder why he is asking, thinking if it's connected to Yorokobi, but he manages to cover his questioning by referring it back to her relationship with Nicolette.
The Waterhole
In a virtually empty bar, Susan tries to engage Holly in conversation initially over Max but when that isn't exactly going anywhere, she then mentions that Karl is worried too that "there's something up." Holly doesn't react well to this, especially since the pair have been busy with their own lives lately and so accuses them of "looking for a problem that doesn't exist!"
HOLLY: Just back off!
Harolds café (next day)
Susan/Karl continue the Holly chat and Susan feels that they need to tread carefully so not to push Holly away and "risk a repeat of the Heath situation."
The conversation is curtailed when Terese enters the café and they briefly chat about Susan's trip to Queensland before Karl heads off. Terese picks up on the tension and Susan explains how they're concerned about Holly.
TERESE: You and I should start a club… the concerned stepparents of Erinsborough!
When Susan doesn't react like Terese thought she would to that suggestion, it then dawns on Terese that Susan is really worried. Susan admits that they don't know how or whether they should be worried given Holly doesn't share her problems very easily.
Lassiters Complex
Krista has that 'what are you talking about' look on her face when she runs into Jane - and of course Jane thinks Krista knows all about Nicolette's proposal! Oops and so Jane desperately tries to un- dig herself out of the hole she's just dug, but Krista wants to know what she is on about!
Number 26
Taye/Max stop by to collect Sadie for their "day drinking and some day pitching" session. However, the location will be the Back Lane Bar and despite the bad memories, Sadie is okay with going there.
Taye gets a message from Shane to say that he's reading the pitch he was sent and wonders if that will mean a phonecall later to discuss it. Max interprets this as an even bigger reason why they need to go get a drink! However, just in case he does get the call, Taye wants to rehears what to say to Shane but Max/Sadie feel drink is needed first and eventually all three head out the door.
Penthouse suite
Leo breaks the news to Nicolette that while grateful for her offer, he "just can't see it working." He also admits that he didn't discuss it with Krista because he is "on the fence" and additionally is "pretty sure Krista will say no" too. Nicolette isn't too amused that he is refusing to discuss it with his wife but Leo's mind is set that he doesn't want to "go there."
Just as Nicolette is accepting Leo's decision, the pair get a visitor - Kirsta who wonders what they are talking about!
KRISTA: Having a baby?!
(Later)
Commercial break later, Nicolette is quickly explain herself to Krista - she simply wanted to start a conversation but then Leo told her how he felt, which she respects. Nicolette then questions if the stable door has opened again but Krista asks to talk to Leo and so Nicolette leaves the pair to chat.
Krista wants to know if he is considering Nicolette's suggestion and he quickly replies back with a "no" before adding that he was "just as blindsided as you are." She isn't amused that she heard this from Jane and not from him, to which Leo is sorry and he did plan to talk to her about it but the conversation got sidetracked after Krista revealed her feelings towards Nicolette. She questions if he was considering it prior to their chat, and the reply is "not seriously" but the 5 points Nicolette came up with allowed him to process things. Krista pushes that he only said no because of her and Leo admits that was the case "for half a second." She is curious to know that the 5 reasons were but he doesn't want to go there, because [the offer] isn't for them…"unless you're actually interested?"
KRISTA: You, me and Nicolette having a baby together?! Raising a child together?!
He gets it too but Krista is still eager to know what the 5 reasons Nicolette came up with were.
Back Lane Bar
Max isn't too surprised when they hear his dad isn't interested in knowing more about their plan. The chilling seems to be doing the world of good for Max as he reveals to Taye, when Sadie goes to the bar to get the next round in, that he's not thought of Holly all day.
The Waterhole
Holly tries to avoid talking to her dad when he comes calling to talk about her chat with Susan the previous night. He seems pleased when she drops into their conversation that she has been talking to someone but he can still tell that there is something wrong. Holly then drops her dad a bombshell:
HOLLY: I've decided I'm gonna leave Erinsborough!
Her rationale is needing "a fresh start" when Karl wants to know why. He then ask if its because of Max and Holly adds in "and Heath and Bowman and Yaz."
HOLLY: Pick a trauma, any trauma. I just need to start the next phase of my life.
Karl asks where that will be and her reply initially is "I don't know" but then quickly follows that by mentioning "the Peninsula, or somewhere like that." Karl pushes her for more answers before suggesting, given her brief responses he does get, that it "doesn't sound like you've thought this through." Holly is adamant she has and that "this is my decision." Karl does get that, but feels it's a "very sudden" one and Holly decides they've done enough chatting as she has to get back to working.
When Karl leaves the bar, Holly gets out her phone to text Andrew saying she needs to see him.
Penthouse suite
Offscreen, Krista has told Terese all about Nicolette's offer and she is surprised by the offer/suggestion too! Krista admits that in theory she agrees with the reasons Nicolette came up with but isn't too sure how that would work in practice. "It sounds like your answers 'no'," Terese comments but it would appear Krista isn't ruling it out given she doesn't want to carry another baby, and does love being the stepmum to Abby, but isn't too sure how being a parent to this child will go with her working.
Krista turns the question on Terese - what would she do. Terese admits to being "a career woman" but than adds that having a family/being involved in a family with her partner, kids, step kids is what keeps her balanced. She then suggests to Krista that she needs to find out what feeds her and keeps her balanced.
KRISTA: Are you saying Nicolette could be a part of that? She's a good mum, I can't deny that.
TERESE: No, it really does take a village to raise a family. Maybe that's why you're not saying no?
Number 24
Jane apologises to her daughter for blurting things out to Krista, she thought Krista already know. Nicolette is fine with what happened, it means now "the issue's out on the table" but isn't going to force "my eggs onto unwilling sperm."
The family then get some visitors - Krista, Leo and Abby whom Isla immediately grabs and take off towards her room. Jane heads off to check on the now departed girls to allow the trio to chat privately.
Before Krista can get a word in edgeways, Nicolette tells them to relax, she is backing off and is okay with that. However, Nicolette has jumped the gun and while there is a lot for everyone to get their head around, in addition to lots to consider, Kirsta is willing "to keep the conversation open."
LEO: It's not a 'yes'.
NICOLETTE: But it's not a 'no'.
KRISTA: It's a… It's a 'let's keep talking'.
Nicolette is happy stunned at what has just been said.
V Bar
Holly and Andrew have escaped into the city to talk privately especially over what she said to Karl/Susan. Andrew gets why she blurted out the move to her dad, and the pair both admit to being happier when they can see each other.
HOLLY: I think we just have to focus on the future. Remember how in love we are. And why all the pain and heartache is worth it.
Almost blatantly, Holly does add in that she is "thinking about Wendy too" in all of this! And equally, Andrew can't stop thinking too about "how much this is affecting" Wendy. Just as Holly asks if Felix's moving in will help Wendy she hears some familiar laughter and we see Taye, Max and Sadie enter the bar! Cue Andrew and Holly rushing into a conveniently handy storeroom before the trio spot that they are there!
