With Nell departing last week, there is a minor change to the titles - the final character scene is now just Susan, Karl and Terese.

Number 22
Terese has a final telephone call with Paul before he flies off (in premium economy!) to New York just as Elle comes downstairs after unpacking again. It's a very delicate truce between the women before Terese leaves to check in with Susan how todays Eirini outing to the National Wool Museum went - they should have been doing the Great Ocean Road but a last minute change was done.

Eirini Rising
The residents are back from the trip and while Susan thinks it went well, its mixed between the [talking] residents - Monty loved it but Gino/Vera hated it! They destress over a cuppa and a biscuit except they are unamused at discovering their favourite brands have been replaced by inferior ones!

The 82
Cara/Remi have a good chat on they way to the tram over how great JJ was for Nell's farewell and Cara's investigation. Remi hopes that Cara will be careful before the pair part - both seem to have enjoyed the walk/talk.

Number 22
It's a relief for Terese/Elle when Leo arrives to break the tense, but very polite, atmosphere between them… so much so that both seem to beg Leo to stay and chat!

Eirini Rising
Susan tries to explain why the changes are being done at Eirini but it's not exactly going down well. Monty thinks he might have a better solution for the coffee at least and Susan gratefully asks him to talk more about that in her office.

Number 22
Even with Leo sitting between Elle/Terese, the freezing temperature hasn't exactly gone. When she gets a text from the Daily Monster newspaper editor (Wesley) to go and meet him, Elle can't escape quickly enough from the house!

With Elle gone, somewhat sarcastically, Leo comments on how they do seem to be getting on better… well sort of and Terese fills him in on the "blow up" and how they both then agreed to "make an effort for Paul's sake." With Paul now gone, Terese admits she hasn't a clue what to speak to Elle about, hence the almost 'radio silence' between the pair. Leo suggests giving it time and is sure they have more in common than she currently thinks.

Harolds café
Elle arrives to meet Wes (not Wesley!) and he is curious to know why she wants a job with him after nearly 20 years at the New York Post. Her explanation is that due to her aging dad, she wanted to come home but Wes has done his research and knows she is lying! Elle tries to deny this but when Wes gets up to go, she pleads to let her tell him the story first.

The 82
Remi has a fan at the café (Deena) who likes her burnt coffee much to Karl's alarm!

Harolds café
Elle explains to Wes that she wouldn't let a story drop and we hear that it cost millions of dollars to sort out but Wes won't reveal to Elle how he found this out! He goes get she is a good journalist but she is a liability and from a different journalistic era to what his readers prefer. "I'm not that much of a dinosaur," Elle pleads so is told to prove it by taking a "big and noisy" story to Wes.

ELLE: And if I do, you'll give me a chance?
WES: You won't get a better one. I think you know that!

Eirini Rising
Over an awful cuppa (judging by the look on Jane's face) Susan tries to explain her 'cuts' rationale to Jane. Jane is sure after an adjustment period, the residents will come round.

The 82
Singleton Deena definitely is a huge fan of Remi and wants to hear why she is working at the tram rather than in medicine after Remi hinted that she and Karl were medically trained.

When Remi heads inside to make another coffee for Deena, Karl is the one to bluntly tell Remi that it isn't the coffee Deena is addicted to!

Harolds café
Terese is surprised to see Elle in the café as she thought she had her interview. Elle explains that it has already happened and admits that "word's already out that I'm practically unhirable". Terese is sympathetic to her plight and agrees to keep an eye out for any potential story that Elle could use to try and get the position. This sympathy seems to get to Elle and she apologises for being "such a pain when I got here," explaining how she can be "ruthless if I feel like someone's going after me" but Terese interprets this as being what makes Elle "an excellent journalist." Elle is impressed that Terese has read her work, although Terese does explain it as being done through taking some sort of interest in Paul's "brilliant children."

ELLE: Formally brilliant.

Elle feels negative about herself because she has torched her whole career, however Terese sees what she did, even if it cost Elle her job/career, as being "brave and driven" adding too that "there's no shame in either of those." Rather than take the compliment Terese is giving, Elle somehow manages to turn it around and have a dig at Terese when here reply is "you'd know!"

Eirini Rising
Monty's plan is to share his lifetime supply of 'Betta coffee' with his fellow residents even if it is "very good" instant coffee! Gino can't understand why there are cuts especially given the promise made was that Eirini would feel like home and to him, it now isn't that.

And it turns out that Hilary isn't amused either and has just sent out, via a message to the Eirini residents, a link to a petition she has set up. Gino wants to be first to sign the petition and urges those gathered in the common room to sign up too!

Harolds café
Elle admits to Terese that she always wanted to come home but now she has, what with the neighbours just about all changing, it feels like she's come home to strangers. Terese has a plan to introduce Elle to the [new] neighbours, beginning with Cara who is working on something at the other side of the café. Since Elle used to live at #30, Cara invites her over to see how the place looks now.

The 82
Deena comes in not to pay her bill, but to give Remi her phone number, hoping that they are both on the same wavelength but if not, she gives Remi permission to throw the piece of paper away. Once Deena leaves, Remi looks like she is unsure what to do!

Number 24
The final trip of the street, to help Elle get reacquainted is #24. She admits to enjoying the tour but is somewhat fearful of the final venue, #30 given the memories she has of that place.

JANE: These houses hold ghosts for all of us. Probably best to focus on the memories that bring you comfort.

Number 30
Elle is taken by the changes at #30 when the ladies arrive at the house. Unfortunately Cara has to leave them to look around the place as she's been called into work to execute a search warrant, quickly tidying up the paperwork she was working on first.

Elle spotted the files Cara was working on and while Terese goes hunting in the kitchen for the containers she loaned the VM's, Elle takes a sneaky peak at Cara's paperwork. It's her 'lightbulb moment' over a story she can do to win her a job at the Daily Monster and with Terese still hunting for her containers, Elle quickly gets her phone out and snaps photos of the paperwork.
