Previously on Neighbours
- Andrew and Holly meet up in the city, and agree to transition to coupledom in 'the kindest way possible'
- Holly doesn't want to drag things out with Max much longer, but Andrew cautions against 'kneejerk' moves
- Holly loses one of the fancy earrings Max bought her, and worries he'll twig if she goes home without it
- Cara tells Remi that she's working on a case involving their old nemeses, the Linwell brothers
- Cara calls Andrew to tell him about a warehouse she's identified near Waratah Heights, relevant to the case
- Andrew tells her there's no rush to explore it, as it's been empty for months
- But an eager Cara asks Nicolette if it would be that big a deal for her to go to the warehouse on her own
- Exploring the warehouse, Cara finds a bag full of guns in the boot of a car
- But she's interrupted by the arrival of the Linwells' associate Ricky Dehnam whose uncle owns the warehouse
Waratah Heights
Inside the warehouse, Cara closes the car boot as quietly as she can, and creeps into a hiding place, from which she watches Ricky Dehnam patrol the area. He turns in her direction suddenly, and she lunges behind a wall, praying she hasn't been seen. She messages Andrew on her phone - 'Need help. Trapped with Ricky'.
The City™
Holly is still looking for her missing earring. Andrew has received the text from Cara, and tells Holly that he's really sorry but has to leave, as Cara needs him urgently. Holly asks what's happened, but Andrew simply says he'll know more when he gets there. Holly tells him to be safe, and he tells her the earring will show up, before leaving.
Harold's Café
Taye and Max are sharing a sandwich because they are both broke. Taye attributes it to them having both spent too much money trying to impress girls (him with the spa day, Max with the earrings).
MAX: At least you got good skin out of it. What have I got? Nothing.
TAYE: Oh, you and Holly are going to be okay. You just need to find that good energy that you guys had, you know? Be a team.
MAX: Yeah, it's easy to say. I feel like we need a new housemate so we're not broke.
TAYE: It would be good if we found one soon.
Max says it would help Taye afford to take Sadie on dates. Taye admits his plans for tonight are going to be 'cheap and cheerful' - he's taking her to the Piano Bar with his staff discount.
MAX: Bro, that's about as hot as me offering Holly cost- price tyres.
TAYE: ...I just thought of a good idea. And it's gonna help both of us.
Taye takes the biggest half of the sandwich, much to Max's chagrin.
Ramsay Street
Holly arrives home and, from across the street, sees Wendy and Sadie heading into their house. Sadie comments that Wendy seems to have been shopping, but has stuffed her purchase into her handbag to hide it from her. Wendy changes the subject, and shows Sadie some photos from the garage scrap sculpture session she ran at school with Max. Spotting Holly, Sadie calls her over to show her too.
Holly takes off her remaining earring and goes over to join them. Sadie asks if Holly's been at work, but she says she's had the day off. Sadie gets a message from Taye, suggesting a double date this evening with her, Holly and Max - a barbecue at No 32. Holly tries to wriggle out of it, but Wendy reminds her that a double date is 'double the fun'! Holly agrees to see Sadie there later, but looks worried as she walks away.
Waratah Heights
Cara is still hiding from Ricky Dehnam, who is now on the phone to somebody.
RICKY: We'll have to move...You can ask them, but they'll agree with me...What does Jonesy say?
Whatever answer the person on the other end of the phone gives, Ricky doesn't like it very much, as he kicks something across the warehouse angrily.
RICKY (shouting): That doesn't *help* us much, though, *does* it?
Cara is recording all this with her phone when Andrew suddenly appears behind her, scaring her.
RICKY: What's the point in having someone on the inside?
He laughs at whatever the response to this is.
RICKY: It's true. There's always someone in the government that's easily corrupted...
As he continues the call, Andrew reminds Cara that they don't have a warrant for this. She tells him about the guns, and asks if they should just arrest him. But Andrew says no. As he moves, he causes something to fall from a shelf and clatter across the floor, stopping Ricky in his tracks.
RICKY: Oi! I heard something. Hang on.
Ricky puts the phone down and begins to walk towards the area where Cara and Andrew are hiding...

Karl is using his laptop when Holly comes in, wanting to ask him a 'weird question'.
HOLLY: You thought that things would work out with you and Mum once.
KARL: Well, I suppose I must've done.
HOLLY: Why didn't it?
KARL: There's a lot of reasons...Izzy wasn't my person, you know? We didn't have that stability and mutual understanding.
HOLLY: But what if she was a different person? (...) Like if she wasn't so all- over- the- shop and Mum- like?
KARL: Oh, well, I...I mean, there's a lot of factors involved. But I guess, in a parallel universe...You know, I have said this a lot - you are not her. You're not me, either. You don't have to carry the burden of our worst decisions.
HOLLY: Except that I'm the girl that's addicted to drama, remember?
KARL: I am so sorry I passed that onto you. I didn't mean for you to be upset. If this is about the relationship you're in now, I guarantee you have what it takes to make it work. Okay?
Holly feigns a smile, but looks worried as she turns away.
Waratah Heights
In the warehouse, Ricky Dehnam is still searching for the cause of the noise, and is getting closer to Holly and Andrew by the second. He ends up on the opposite side of some shelves to them, but fortunately doesn't see them. He resumes his phone conversation, telling his associate that there's nobody here and that he's 'jumping at shadows'.
RICKY: When Jonesy calls, you get back to me. I'm on the move.
Ricky takes the bag of guns from the car boot, and leaves the warehouse. Cara and Andrew breathe sighs of relief as they emerge from their hiding place. Cara confirms that the guns were in the bag Ricky had, but says she has a photo of them. But Andrew points out that it's not admissible evidence since they don't have a warrant.
ANDREW: What were you doing here? Even after I spoke to you? This is not something you do solo.
CARA: I was only gonna canvass the place. Should've been harmless.
She plays back some of the recording she's made for Andrew - the part about 'Jonesy' and having 'someone on the inside' - then suggests they go after Ricky and do a stop- and- search.
ANDREW: No, it's got to go up the chain. Everything has to be official from now on. This is *way* too serious.
No 32
Taye, Max and Sadie are in the garden firing up the barbecue when Holly arrives for the double date, looking deeply unenthusiastic. Max tells Holly about their plans to find a new housemate, and asks Holly if she wants to help - but she responds that it won't affect her as she won't be living here. Max says that she's here all the time - normally - and that he's really glad she came tonight.
They discuss activities for the evening; Max wants to teach them all the card game Euchre, which Harold taught him. While Taye and Sadie flirt with one another and Max enthuses about Euchre, Holly forces a smile but looks like she'd rather be anywhere than here.
Erinsborough Police Station
Cara and Andrew are playing the recording of Ricky Dehnam for the benefit of their boss, Senior Sergeant Tony Thompson. Cara says that while they can't use it in court, there's plenty they can investigate. Thompson isn't thrilled, reminding Andrew that he asked him to keep an eye on this so that these issues didn't develop. Andrew sticks up for Cara, saying that they thought the warehouse was abandoned.
THOMPSON: If this guy had've seen you, he could've drawn those weapons. And a probationary constable shouldn't have been anywhere near that (...) Next time, I expect a lot more caution from both of you (...) But...you're right. This definitely deserves more resources on it.
ANDREW: We don't want to see those guns on the street.
CARA: Yeah. They were talking about having guys on the inside; they mentioned the government. This is corruption.
THOMPSON: We've got to tread very carefully. The first step is to get a search warrant, and have a proper look at that warehouse.
ANDREW: Well, with Ricky's recent arrest and his link to the Linwells, it shouldn't be too hard. Just like Cara pointed out right from the start.
THOMPSON: Yeah. You were right about her instincts. (to Cara) You might be green, but you've got a nose for this.
CARA: Thank you.
THOMPSON: But if I let you stay on this, no more going off solo.
CARA: Yeah. Got it.

It's late when Andrew comes home to find Wendy marking homework at the table. He apologises for being so late, and she wonders where all the fish are that he was supposed to be catching! He says it 'wasn't my day', then adds that he had to go and help Cara out of a situation, which led to a meeting with Thompson.
Wendy produces the mysterious shopping bag Sadie asked her about earlier from her handbag. It's a set of red, lacy lingerie from the store at Eden Hills - specifically, 'the naughty section in the back'.
WENDY: I thought we could work on our zing, you know, after the other night...Unless you're tired.
Andrew admits that he is, and Wendy covers her disappointment, saying that they can save it for another time.
WENDY: As long as you liked it.
ANDREW: No, I do. I definitely do. I think you'll look amazing in it.
WENDY: ...Maybe I can do a quick fashion show for you. It doesn't need to lead anywhere, but if it does, that's okay too.
Andrew doesn't say anything as Wendy hurries off to get changed.
No 32
Max, Holly, Taye and Sadie are playing Euchre by the pool. Max and Holly win, and Max wants to do a victory lap as they are the 'Euchre- dupers'. Holly clearly thinks this is asinine, and doesn't make much effort to disguise it, leaving Max deflated. Taye and Max go to get more drinks.
SADIE: I think you might've hurt his feelings.
HOLLY: He was acting like a two- year- old.
SADIE: I did not know that things were so off.
HOLLY: They're not.
SADIE: Seriously? You would usually love a victory lap. And don't you think you should be wearing the earrings that he got you?
HOLLY: To a barbecue?
SADIE: I think he would like you to show them off.
HOLLY: ...You're right. I'm stuffing up. I think I'm just tired. Can you tell them that I said bye?
Sadie objects but Holly is already walking out of the gate. When they re- emerge, Sadie tells the boys that Holly has had a 'long day' and needed to go home. Max looks peeved. Outside the gate, Holly looks upset but relieved to be out of there.
No 26
Andrew is sitting shirtless on the sofa. Wendy emerges in her nightgown covering the red lingerie. Concerned, she asks Andrew if everything is okay.
ANDREW: Sorry - I just can't.
WENDY: (...) No, you said you were tired and I tried to start something. *I'm* sorry.
ANDREW: None of this is your fault.
WENDY: Okay, well, let's just chalk it up to a long day, and we just, you know, won't worry about it.
ANDREW: You went to a lot of trouble. At least let me try and apologise.
WENDY: Babe, it isn't necessary.
ANDREW: This whole Cara situation...it was a bit of a heartstopper. Maybe took it out of me more than I realised.
WENDY: Well, there you go. It's nothing that we need to worry about.
Wendy heads back to the bedroom. As soon as she's gone, Andrew loses his composure and breaks down in tears.
No 28
Holly is crying too, on the couch. Karl comes out of his bedroom, and asks her what's wrong.
HOLLY (crying): Just that I'm awful. And I'm hurting Max.
Karl comes over and sits with her.
HOLLY: He's the nicest guy in the world; I shouldn't be doing this to him.
KARL: Doing what, sweetie?
HOLLY: Not loving him like he loves me.
KARL: Is that the case? Did something happen?
HOLLY: No, not something. It's just...he's not the person that I want a life with.
KARL: Is this what you were worried about earlier? You know, sometimes people aren't the right fit, and things don't last. That doesn't reflect poorly on anyone.
HOLLY: Sometimes it does.
Holly's still tearful, and Karl gives her a hug.
Harold's Café
The next day, Andrew finds Cara going over some paperwork. She's brainstorming everything she can recall about the Linwells, and theories about the 'man on the inside' that Ricky Dehnam mentioned. Andrew reminds her that they can't do more until the search warrant comes through, and asks what Remi thinks about it all. Cara says Remi understands why she's looking into it, and is fine about it.
ANDREW: Doesn't sound like her. Thought she'd be more worried.
CARA: Yeah. It's the new normal, where she's not worried about me getting hurt.
Cara tells Andrew about Remi giving her permission to 'go for it' with Nicolette.
CARA: It's not a thing, before you ask. As if I would ever look twice at another woman.
Lassiter's Complex
They emerge into the courtyard together. Andrew spots Holly sitting nearby, so tells Cara he'll see her at work, and goes over to speak to Holly. Holly admits she's been worried about him all night after he rushed off for the emergency with Cara, given they'd agreed not to text one another. Andrew admits the situation 'got a little bit hairy' but says he's fine.
Andrew asks if Holly found the other earring; she says not, and that she'll have to tell Max, adding that she couldn't even bear to hold his hand last night. Andrew reminds her that this won't last forever; they just need to hang in there.
HOLLY: I feel like it's gonna blow up, no matter what I do.
ANDREW: I'm still here for you. As much as I can be.
HOLLY: How long do you think it's gonna take for you to ease away from Wendy?
ANDREW: ...I hate this. Could be months.
HOLLY: And then how long after that until we can be together?
ANDREW: I dunno. I wish I had the answers.
HOLLY: Me too.
They smile at one another wistfully.
No 26
Wendy is looking at herself in the mirror worriedly. Sadie comes in, wanting to borrow Wendy's laptop - and has reached it before Wendy can stop her. On the screen there's a web page about erectile dysfunction, and Sadie is mortified.
SADIE: My eyes are bleeding. They're scarred.
WENDY: Can you not overreact? This is totally a normal part of life; it's natural.
SADIE: No, no, no, no!
Taye walks in.
TAYE: Gosh, what? Did someone die or something?
SADIE: Just my dad's...
Taye sees the screen too, and Wendy closes the laptop. She asks both of them to keep what they've seen to themselves; Andrew wouldn't appreciate it being spread around.
TAYE: I don't know anything.
SADIE: I am blocking this from my memory.
The Waterhole
Holly is on a bar shift, but looks to be in a world of her own. Max comes in, wanting to talk to her about her bailing on the barbecue last night. He says that Sadie told him she mentioned something about the earrings, which was when Holly left. Holly hesitates, then...
HOLLY: I have a confession. I lost one, and I'm really sorry.
MAX: Holly...
HOLLY: It's not like I meant to.
MAX: You had them for less than a week.
HOLLY: Don't have a go at me!
MAX: Yeah, I know - I'm sorry. I know it would've been an accident.
HOLLY: And don't act like it's okay when you don't mean it!
MAX: No, I do!
HOLLY: You're obviously upset. You shouldn't have bought them for me if you couldn't afford them!
MAX: Holly, I was just trying to be nice.
HOLLY: You're not realistic about money, and it just puts pressure on me.
MAX (confused): Wait, what?
HOLLY: You only did it because we weren't in a good place, and now it's just made things even harder. I'm sorry, Max - I think the universe is telling us something. This isn't gonna work.
Holly walks away, leaving Max looking absolutely baffled...and devastated.
