Classical music plays as Wendy sets up a romantic dinner for two, with ambient lighting, roast chicken in the oven and a rose on the table. Sadie emerges, and looks impressed with the setup. Wendy explains she's preparing to unveil her jewellery competition entry to Andrew, and wanted to make a special occasion of it. Sadie agrees to make herself scarce, but wants a sneak peek at Wendy's jewellery piece first.
Wendy agrees to this, but tells Sadie to keep it to herself if she doesn't like it! Sadie looks in the jewellery case, and seems impressed by what she sees (though we don't see anything!) Wendy thinks she's putting it on, but Sadie insists it's incredible.
SADIE: Dad's gonna love it.
WENDY: Oh, I hope so. I would not have been able to do this without his inspiration. And I really want him to know how much he means to me.
They hug.
Lassiter's Hotel
Holly and Andrew are lying in bed together, gazing at one another after having TITTNL™.
ANDREW: You okay?
HOLLY: I'm amazing. How are you?
He strokes her face tenderly.
ANDREW: You are amazing.
They smile at one another and she kisses his hand. Andrew says he'd better go, as it's getting late. Holly looks disappointed, but as he gets dressed he promises to call her later.
HOLLY: I'll be waiting.
They share another kiss on the lips, and Andrew leaves.

Terese has Aaron, Leo, Krista, Paul and Jane round for drinks. Krista finishes up a work call, and reports to Paul that the displays for the jewellery expo are on track to meet the deadline. Paul is glad there'll be no delays, as Lucy is arriving tomorrow. Paul reminds Krista that they have one chance to get this right. She tells him she has it covered.

It seems Wendy has given up on the romantic evening and is preparing to put the dinner she'd cooked into the freezer when Andrew comes in. She remarks that she was expecting him ages ago. He apologises, saying he went for a drink with the team after work and lost track of time. Wendy's not annoyed, and offers to heat him up some roast chicken. She admits she'd started to worry he'd been called out to some emergency.
Andrew asks if Wendy's already eaten; she says she has, but that she'll join him at the table for company in a minute. He sits down, looking very guilty.
Lassiter's Hotel
The next morning, we're in slow motion as Holly comes out of the lift looking very contented. She checks out at the front desk, but is then brought back to earth by the appearance of Sadie and Aaron. Sadie asks how Holly's private time was, and Aaron is surprised to learn she stayed at the hotel last night. Holly says she just needed some space.
SADIE: What naughty things did you get up to?
HOLLY: Nothing naughty, just boring stuff. I honestly just had an early night.
Holly walks away but they follow her. Aaron says whatever Holly's been doing must be working, because she looks 'fantastic'. Sadie attributes it to the cream she gave her, and agrees that Holly is 'glowing'.
HOLLY: I should get a better sleep more often.
Aaron and Sadie head off, and Holly looks worried.

Wendy is doing some gardening. Andrew comes out; he's noticed that the fancy dinner plates have been out, and asks Wendy if they have something planned tonight. Wendy is forced to admit that she planned to use the plates last night for a special meal for them, for her jewellery entry reveal. She's not mad, saying she should have checked with Andrew first, but he's now feeling even guiltier.

Holly is in the garden, smiling wistfully to herself. She decides to send one of the saucy selfies she took after the jewellery expo photoshoot to Andrew. Suddenly, Max appears behind her, startling Holly. She guilt- trips him, saying he knows how on edge she is already (due to Gavin Bowman being out, we infer she means), and tells him not to creep up on her again. They both look a bit awkward.

Andrew is apologising profusely for not having turned up to Wendy's special dinner. She's unconcerned, saying there will be plenty of other opportunities for special dinners. She says she didn't tell him last night because she was glad he'd had a chance to go out and had a good time with his colleagues. At this point, Andrew is startled to get Holly's picture message on his phone - and immediately deletes it!
WENDY: Everything all good?
ANDREW: Uh, yeah, yeah... just work admin stuff.

Terese is coming downstairs when she overhears Paul on the phone to Lucy. He's trying to convince her that they should put off the quarterly report for the hotel until after the jewellery expo. But it sounds like Lucy isn't satisfied with this, so Paul grudgingly agrees to make sure the report is ready for her when she arrives. Once he's finished, Terese asks if there's a problem.
PAUL: No, no - it's just Lucy being Lucy. The woman never rests.
TERESE: Well, if you need a hand wrangling her while she's here, I'm happy to pitch in and ply her with cocktails and gossip.
PAUL: Thank you, darling, that would be great. I'll send up a flare if I need it.
But as Terese walks off, Paul looks worried.

Max and Holly are having a cuppa in the garden. Max is very apologetic for creeping up on Holly before, but for her part she apologises for overreacting, saying he did nothing wrong. He suggests they use their couple's spa voucher today, but Holly doesn't think Sadie will be able to fit them in at such short notice. Max says he's already texted Sadie - she can squeeze them in in an hour's time.
Holly's visibly not keen on this, but can't think of an excuse, so agrees. Max texts Sadie to let her know they're coming.
Lassiter's Hotel
Leo finds Krista hanging around in the foyer and suggests lunch. Krista agrees. She gets a message from Annalise, who is on her way back this afternoon. Krista says she really likes Annalise and thinks they would work well together. Leo wonders if Krista is thinking Annalise might become a permanent part of the team, though Krista doesn't say either way for the moment.
Lassiter's Lake
Max and Holly are talking about the couple's massage they've just had as they walk towards the park. Holly's phone bleeps due to low battery, and she realises she's left her charger at the hotel. Max is surprised; he wasn't aware she'd spent the night at the hotel. Holly explains about Karl and Susan's sex dice and Remi being there with the boys, and says she just wanted some privacy for the night.
MAX: And I didn't get a booty call? What's going on?
HOLLY: ... I was feeling pretty tired. I pretty much just went to sleep.
Max suggests they do something this afternoon as they're both off work. Holly tells him she's not really in the mood, claiming she can't stop thinking about Gavin Bowman. Max thinks she could do with the distraction; they could go into the city or see a movie. But Holly says she just wants to go home and sleep. Max looks disappointed, but says he'll go and find Taye at the Piano Bar and hang out with him.
Max kisses Holly and they promise to text later, then he walks off. Holly notices that Andrew is standing a little way away and has been watching them. She walks towards him.
ANDREW: We need to talk.

Krista tells Paul that Annalise will be arriving at around the same time as Lucy today. They both hope they can work things out with Annalise. Krista says she'll brief Lucy on the expo when she arrives, but Paul is keen to do it himself. He makes out he wants to take Lucy out of Krista's busy hands, saying that Lucy has already started making 'unnecessary requests'. Terese listens from the conservatory with interest.
PAUL: She's hassling me about the quarterly report, and we just haven't got time for that.
KRISTA: Okay, well, she probably just wants to look at it while she's here.
PAUL: Well, she's just gonna have to wait, isn't she? I mean, you're already doing two jobs. Something's got to give.
KRISTA: It's really not a big deal. Look, I can run the report if she's desperate.
PAUL: No. I want your focus where it should be, on the expo and the Bronze Bell, okay?
Krista agrees, and heads off to a meeting. Terese coughs to get Paul's attention.
TERESE: Why are you delaying the quarterly report?
PAUL: I'm not. It's just, Krista's stretched, and it's so unnecessary.
TERESE: Paul (...) Krista has everything under control (...) Why don't you just let her take the report off your plate?
Paul looks shifty, so Terese demands that he tell her what he's keeping from her this instant! Paul sighs.
PAUL: Alright, alright. I used Lassiter's funds to help bail you out. And Lucy, the second she sees those figures, is gonna spot it.
TERESE (disbelieving): I'm sorry? What, you stole that money to help me? I thought you sold some shares!
PAUL: Oh, darling, you know what the market is like. I didn't want to sell them at a loss! Hey, and besides, I own half the company.
TERESE: Uh, using company funds for private matters is the definition of embezzlement! I can't believe you'd risk that for me.
PAUL: I *had* to help you out. And besides, I thought that I'd be able to put the money back before anybody noticed.
TERESE: Paul! You do realise that if you get caught, you are up for serious criminal charges.
PAUL: Yeah.
Lassiter's Lake
It seems Andrew has been taking Holly to task for sending him the saucy photo. She promises it won't happen again, and asks him not to be mad at her. He insists he's not.
HOLLY: Well, did you even like the picture?
ANDREW: I don't want to see it! Look, whatever happened last night - it has to be a one- off, okay?
HOLLY: Why?
ANDREW: You *know* why.
HOLLY: But we connected last night. It wasn't just great sex. You can't cut me off.
ANDREW: I'm married, okay?
HOLLY: I know, but married people change! They decide that they want different things. You're allowed to be happy -
ANDREW: Holly, I love my wife.
HOLLY: Then what was last night?
ANDREW: I don't know! I... It was us just getting things out of our system. Look, whatever it was, it's over.
HOLLY: ...
ANDREW: I'm sorry. It has to be this way, Holly. There's just way too much at stake. My whole life. My family.
During the course of the conversation, they've ended up holding one another by the arm, and Andrew now pulls away, leaving Holly looking upset and alone at the rotunda. But unbeknownst to either of them, Aaron has been watching from a distance, and looks very concerned indeed...

Terese has been checking her accounts, and tells Paul there's no way they can pull back enough money to put back what Paul took from the hotel, even if everything was maxed out and put into overdraft. There's also no way she can sell Power Road quickly enough to get him the money back before Lucy notices. Terese wishes Paul had discussed it with her before doing something so extreme.
PAUL: I just wanted to help. Besides, I can see that you don't really want to sell Power Road.
But Terese says that if she'd had a choice between selling it and putting Paul in this position, she would have sold every time.
TERESE: I love that you want to protect me this much, but it would kill me if you got into trouble for this.
PAUL: No, no, it's not gonna come to that (...) Darling, I have come through much tighter scrapes than this in the past. You know that.
TERESE: I really appreciate what you've done for me, Paul. But we need to find a way to put this money back, and we need to do it fast.
PAUL: Yeah, I know.

In the garden, Andrew has set up a surprise for Wendy, to make up for being a no- show last night. There's champagne in an ice bucket and candles around the spa, which is sprinkled with rose petals. Sadie has been roped in to help, having brought some crackers home with her for a cheese platter she's going to prepare. But at this point Wendy herself turns up, and Andrew and Sadie stand in front of the spa to hide it.
ANDREW: You weren't meant to be home yet.
WENDY: Oh, I can turn around and come back?
Andrew decides the game's up, so shows Wendy the romantic spa he's preparing. Sadie rushes inside to start on the platter.
WENDY: Oh, this looks lovely! (...) You didn't have to do that.
ANDREW: Yes, I did. I ruined your special dinner. I know this is not the same, but... I was still hoping to get to see what you've made.
WENDY: Of course you can, goose! Thank you for doing this. It means a lot.
Wendy's now feeling nervous about showing him her entry for the jewellery competition.
WENDY: It's a bit different to my usual stuff. But I just... I dunno, I pushed myself, you know. I wanted to do my muse justice.
ANDREW: Go on then. Stop stalling.
Wendy rushes to get the jewellery piece. Andrew looks conflicted.

In the next garden, Andrew has popped the champagne and it has gone everywhere, hence the laughter. Wendy jokes that she could just drink it off him!

Wendy is now in the spa with a glass of bubbly. Andrew asks if he's allowed to look at her competition entry now, and she tells him to go for it. He opens the jewellery case, and seems very impressed with the necklace she's made. We can see how much his approval means to Wendy.
ANDREW: I don't know what to say.
WENDY: You could be like Sadie. Say you can't believe that I made it.
ANDREW: Oh, no, no. There's so much of you in this. You definitely made this. Babe, well done.
WENDY: Thank you. You should put it on.
ANDREW: I dunno if I'm gonna do this justice, though.
WENDY: Andrew, you were my inspiration. You're the perfect model. You're the only model I want.
Andrew puts it on - and it kind of suits him!
WENDY: Wow. Harry Styles, eat your heart out.
Andrew struts around a bit in the necklace, while Wendy makes enthusiastic noises and asks him to put some more sass into it. He jokes that he might quit the police force and start a new career.
WENDY: They should have used you for the expo promotion instead of Holly.
Andrew's smile fades suddenly, remembering what he's done, and he takes the necklace off.
ANDREW: You know I love you, right?
WENDY: Yeah, of course. I've never, ever doubted that.
ANDREW: Good.
He kisses her on the lips.
Power Road
Terese is standing with Paul on the grass behind The 82, assessing her empire. She wonders aloud if there's anybody they know who might be interested in doing a 'quick and dirty deal' to buy up the road after all, to get Paul the hotel's money back.
PAUL: Then it would all be for nothing.
TERESE: Keeping you out of jail is not nothing.
Paul gets a text from Lucy, who he explains has just caught up with Annalise at the airport.
PAUL: Hopefully they'll be so busy talking about old times that Lucy won't notice I've taken the funds from Lassiter's to bail you out.
But at this point Leo appears behind them. He has overheard all of this and asks Paul to repeat himself!
