Ramsay Street
Wendy and Andrew arrive home in the car. Andrew looks awkward as he sees Holly and Max walking along the other side of the street holding hands, evidently not desperate to make his presence known to them. But...
WENDY: Yoohoo!
Wendy calls Holly and Max over, and takes the opportunity to gush some more about what an amazing modelling job Holly did for the jewellery expo. Andrew again tries not to appear too interested, and changes the subject, asking Holly if Cara reached out to her as regards police support. Holly confirms she did, and is feeling a lot better.
ANDREW: Good. Bowman's got no reason to be anywhere you are.
MAX: Wait, I'm sorry - what's this about Bowman?
ANDREW: Holly didn't tell you?
Holly says she didn't want to worry Max, and repeats her (untrue) story about seeing Gavin Bowman hanging around and freaking out. A worried Max asks her to keep him in the loop with this stuff, and hugs her. But over his shoulder, Holly is making uncomfortable eye contact with Andrew.
As the Rodwells go indoors, Holly gets a phone call from Krista.
HOLLY: Wait - what?!
Lassiter's Hotel
Holly has rejoined Krista at the hotel to discuss the missing jewels. Krista reminds Holly that she was the one who was supposed to have put them in the safe and locked it. Holly confirms that's exactly what she did after Krista had left the office (though, avoiding mention of the selfies she took first). Holly says she didn't see anyone else in the area at the time.
Annalise joins them; she's ruled out the photographer as having moved the jewels. Annalise thinks they should call Paul and the police. But Krista thinks they should take a minute to check the hotel first; they can sound the alarm after that if the jewels don't show up.
At reception, Krista asks Sam Young to check with housekeeping to see if anybody has seen anything, and Katrina Marshall to get the relevant CCTV footage from the IT department. Katrina objects that she has guests to see to, but Krista makes it clear this is most important!
Holly is searching for the jewels in the Piano Bar meanwhile, much to Taye's confusion. Holly is frantic, saying that since she was the last person with the missing jewels, it's on her if they can't find them. Paul shows up and overhears.
PAUL: What do you mean, missing?

Sadie asks why Wendy is looking so jolly, before adding that if it's anything to do with hers and Andrew's love life, she doesn't want to know! Wendy says that she's in a great mood because of Sadie's success with the makeup job for the photoshoot. Andrew agrees that they are very proud of her, though looks awkward again when Wendy continues to gush about how amazing Holly looked.
Wendy also mentions that she's proud of Sadie for getting Amanda Harris's scholarship up and running at Eden University.
WENDY: Oh my gosh, you're formidable. Hashtag proud- as- punch!
SADIE: Well, you guys cheering me on really means a lot.
ANDREW: We always will. Team Rodwell.
Wendy goes outside to get some mint to make tea. Sadie declares to Andrew that their family hasn't been 'this functional in a while', and hugs him. Andrew looks worried... Then his phone rings.
Lassiter's Hotel
Krista, Holly and Paul are discussing the missing jewellery in Paul's office. Paul accuses Krista of having given the thief time to get away by not alerting the police. Krista says the culprit would be long gone anyway if the jewels were taken.
PAUL: Yeah, unless of course, the culprit is here in the room.
HOLLY: Well, I didn't steal them!
KRISTA: Paul, come on!
PAUL: Well, she's got form, hasn't she?
Holly strenuously denies any involvement. Annalise comes in; she's just checked the CCTV footage, and nobody came up in the lift after Holly, but the camera on the stairwell was switched off.
PAUL (to Holly): And who do you think might know how to do that, unless of course they work here?
HOLLY: I put the jewels in the safe, I shut the door, and left!
PAUL: I see. And did you push the hash key when you closed the door?
HOLLY: Of course I did! I mean... well, I think I did.
Everyone groans. Andrew turns up in response to the report of the missing jewels. Krista tells him she'll compile a list of everyone who was working at the time. But Paul is determined that Holly should be hauled over the coals first!
PAUL (to Andrew): Well, do I have to tell you how to do your job?!
ANDREW: Holly, can you come down to the station with me, please?
Erinsborough Police Station
Andrew turns on the camera in the interview room on a panel in the wall, and we see the footage via a laptop next door of him entering the room to join Holly. He asks her to tell him exactly what happened after the photoshoot.
HOLLY: No.
ANDREW: So you're saying 'no comment'?
HOLLY: No, I'm saying 'no'. N- O. To all of this. This is a crock. I have been through so much. I almost suffocated in a silo! And sure, I thought that Heath's money was owed to me - but then his heavy came after me and half the street, and I learned my lesson (...) I can be impulsive, I can be reckless, I can forget the smallest things. But I am not a thief.
ANDREW: Holly, take a breath...
HOLLY: No, *you* take a breath. I shouldn't be here. Come on - you know me. You know that I wouldn't do this!
Andrew returns to the wall panel, and turns the camera off.
ANDREW (hushed): You're one of the most stubborn people that I've ever met! I was just trying to remind you that you need to temper yourself because this interview is being recorded!
They gaze at one another.
ANDREW: Of *course* I believe you. I just need you to answer honestly, and not make it worse for yourself. Can you do that?
Holly nods, so Andrew turns the camera back on. Holly can't help looking pleased that Andrew cares enough about her to intervene in this way.
Shortly afterwards, the interview has finished. Holly drops her keys by accident, and Andrew picks them up for her. As he gives them back, their hands linger on one another's. Holly thanks Andrew for believing her. At this point, both Max and Wendy come in. Wendy asks if there's been any luck tracking down the jewellery. Andrew says not yet. He says Holly remains a person of interest, so 'can't really leave town'.
As Max and Holly walk out together, Andrew looks conflicted.
Lassiter's Hotel
At reception, Krista is on the phone to Annalise, who is up in the office. They decide it's time to call Johan Classen, the director of the jewellery expo, and own up about the missing gems. Krista wants to make the call, as she feels she's responsible for not being more careful than to leave the gems with Holly. Annalise tells her to stop blaming herself.
But at this point, Sam Young opens a drawer under the reception desk, and finds the bag of missing jewellery! She calls Krista over, who can't believe it...
Harold's Café
Holly moans to Max that everything always ends up going badly for her. Sadie comes to join them. Holly gets a message from Krista saying they've found the jewels, and rushes off to call her to find out more.
SADIE: What a crazy day.
MAX: Yeah, sucks that Holly got falsely accused, hey?
SADIE: Yeah, and they don't even know half the stuff she's been up to.
MAX: Sorry, what?
SADIE: Holly's saucy surprise? ... Oh, umm, I just thought you would have got it by now.
MAX: Got what?
But before Sadie can say anymore, Holly rejoins them and tells them where the jewels were found. Max still wants to know more about Holly's surprise for him but, conscious she's put her foot in it and not wanting Holly to know, Sadie changes the subject back to the jewels!
Lassiter's Complex
Krista and Annalise are having a drink to celebrate finding the jewellery. Aaron offers Annalise the Hammill's Creek Riesling that she likes, but it's only by the bottle.
KRISTA: She'll have the bottle.
While Aaron goes to get it, Krista thanks Annalise for her support today. They reflect on the fact that they'd already looked in the reception drawer, but then it turned up there later. Krista says that the police have fingerprinted the reception but don't hold high hopes of finding out who's responsible, as it's a high- traffic area. Annalise reflects that it's therefore a smart place to have put them.
A man appears from the trees nearby and begins watching Krista and Annalise as they talk...
KRISTA: Yeah, I just... I don't understand the motivation. Why would you take the jewels just to put them back?
ANNALISE: Maybe it wasn't about the stealing, though. Maybe it's about destabilising?
We're now close up on the man, and can see it's a familiar face - Annalise's ex, Sam Kratz! But Annalise and Krista are unaware of his presence and continue to talk.
ANNALISE: Well, expensive jewellery goes missing this week, then suddenly turns up. The other day, it was the signage (...) I mean, the driver specifically said it was a guy. We never found out who that guy was.
We cut back to Sam Kratz listening.
KRISTA: Are you thinking that the incidences are related?
ANNALISE: Well, if they are, there's been a clear escalation, which is worrying. Hopefully the police will shed some light on it soon.
Harold's Café
Sadie sends Max to go and check on the coffee order, as a pretext to get him out of the way, so she can ask Holly why she didn't send the saucy selfies to Max. Sadie admits she mentioned to Max that Holly had a surprise for him, assuming she'd already have sent him the photos.
HOLLY: Sadie! This is the last thing that I need.
SADIE: Sorry. Can't you send them now?
HOLLY: No! They're photos of me half- naked in jewellery I was just accused of stealing!
Max returns with cake, cutting the conversation dead. Sadie decides to cover for Holly with Max, by telling him that Holly's surprise for him was a romantic couple's massage at the day spa.
MAX: That's so sweet!
SADIE: And saucy, just like I said!
Holly gives Sadie a look, thanking her silently for avoiding her having to explain to Max about the photos.
Lassiter's Complex
Aaron has returned with Annalise's bottle of wine and a non- alcoholic drink for Krista. Annalise explains there's a story behind her love of the Hammill's Creek Riesling, involving her ex, Sam Kratz.
ANNALISE: One weekend, Sam and I take a day trip to the Yarra Valley, and we end up at Hammill's Creek Estate. And the weather was shocking - it was like, thunder, lightning, the works. Anyway, we thought we'd kill some time in the tasting room. But by the time they told us you weren't actually supposed to swallow the wine, it was too late.
AARON: Well, it would be a shame to spit it out.
ANNALISE: That's what we said! Anyway, we ended up booking a room, and just having the best weekend.
KRISTA: Aww. You know, it sounds as though you really miss him.
ANNALISE: Mm.
KRISTA: Are you sure it's all over?
ANNALISE: Honestly, I... I think I'll always love him. But he crossed a line. I just don't think I can go back.
KRISTA: Leo and I overcame some pretty big obstacles. Do you think maybe you and Sam could, too?
ANNALISE: Hmm... no. I'm focusing on myself right now. And new friends.
They toast to that, while Sam Kratz continues to watch unseen from the trees. He looks sad...
Lassiter's Hotel
In his office, Paul is grumbling to Terese about the fiasco with the jewels; he's annoyed that Krista and Annalise didn't tell him what's going on. Terese thinks Paul's just annoyed because he preferred it when Krista and Annalise were at each other's throats and he was pulling the strings! Paul insists that isn't true; he wants his plan to spend more time in New York to work, which is the whole point of testing Annalise.
TERESE: Well, it's time for the test to be done. You're just torturing those poor women for fun at this point. It's time to tell them the truth.
Krista and Annalise appear at the door.
KRISTA: The truth about what?
Terese smiles smugly at Paul. He looks apprehensive...
The Waterhole
Aaron is bringing in some glasses from outside, plus the remaining half- bottle of Annalise's Riesling. He places it on the bar, promising to be with a waiting customer in a second. The customer is Sam Kratz.
SAM K: That's a good drop. How could someone leave half of it behind?
AARON: Ah, the lady drinking it had to duck off to work.
SAM K: Well, I don't suppose 'finders keepers' might apply here?
AARON: Sorry. I promised her I'd put it aside.
SAM K: Sounds like she's pretty attached.
AARON: Yeah. I think that Riesling reminded her of a special weekend away or something?
Aaron goes to fetch Sam a food menu, and at this point, Sam gets a phone call.
SAM K: Hey, thanks for getting back to me... Tomorrow? Yeah, sounds good... Annalise doesn't know. This has to stay between us...
Lassiter's Hotel
Annalise and Krista are annoyed with Paul for using the Bronze Bell and jewellery expo as a secret test- run for Annalise potentially getting a more permanent position at the hotel. She can't believe she's been 'on a job interview this whole time'. Paul claims he kept it to himself because he wasn't sure whether he was going ahead with his New York plans or not. But now he is sure, so he says there is definitely a vacancy.
KRISTA: You're a piece of work, Paul.
PAUL: Oh, come on! There's nothing wrong with testing the waters. I wanted to see if you two could work well together.
ANNALISE: Come on, you pitted us against each other.
PAUL: Yeah. To see if you could overcome any challenges. And guess what? You passed.
KRISTA (furious): Passed what?! I'm a co- owner of this hotel, not your subordinate! You know, this is *really* disrespectful, Paul. I can't even deal with you right now.
Krista walks out, and Annalise follows. Terese gives Paul an 'I told you so' look. He sighs.

Later that evening, Holly is surprised to get a visit from Andrew. She invites him in, and there's an awkward silence. He wants to know how she's doing.
HOLLY: You mean, after I was accused of orchestrating a jewellery heist?
ANDREW: I'm so sorry that happened to you... Hey, it's okay.
HOLLY: Yeah, till next time (...) Everyone always thinks the worst of me. Something bad happens - 'oh, Holly must've done it.'
ANDREW: You were just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
HOLLY: I bet Paul still thinks it was me. It's just a never- ending cycle; I'm sick of it... Maybe I should just prove them all right.
More awkwardness as Andrew contemplates what she might mean by this!
HOLLY: You've really looked out for me. Today, and with Bowman. Thank you.
ANDREW: Wish I could do more. I, uh... better go.
He hesitates, as if wondering whether in fact to stay after all, but then heads for the door, telling Holly to 'rest up'. As he leaves, she looks disappointed, and then conflicted.
Penthouse
Annalise is supportive of Krista, saying it's shocking that Paul went behind her back as he did, and she has a right to be upset. Krista laments that she never knows where she stands with Paul.
KRISTA: We're not just co- owners. We're family. I mean, the man walked me down the aisle, for goodness' sake. It's just, like... why is he treating me like this?
Paul comes up in the lift, accompanied by Terese.
PAUL: Krista, I am really sorry. You are right, I should have had these discussions with you. And, well, I acknowledge that that was a mistake.
KRISTA: Mm- hm. It was.
PAUL: Annalise, you want a job in Australia - so I'm assuming the answer's yes.
ANNALISE: Actually, it's not. I would love to work here, but... I think it's up to Krista. I think it's her decision, and she should have time to make that decision.
Annalise leaves, Krista smiling at her as she goes.
PAUL: Krista, please - surely we can get past this.
KRISTA: (...) No, actually, I don't think we can, Paul. This is a complete betrayal. And you know what? It actually shows how little you care about me, both personally and professionally. Even after all of this time. You've crossed a line, and you don't deserve me or Annalise. You're on your own with the Bronze Bell, and the expo.
Paul looks worried!
