Number 24
Jane and Byron break the news to Aaron, Nicolette and Sam that they are hitting the high seas, with Jane getting off in Queensland to spend some time with her Uncle Joe. To celebrate their departure, Aaron plans on holding a farewell barbie and heads out to the shops to get the supplies.
The Waterhole
With Saskia coming clean, Sadie is overjoyed to not have to do the extra training but her happy mood goes when Taye gets a text message to say Byron is leaving. Taye gets why she is down as they had a lot of history.
Lassiters rotunda
Holly goes over to thank Andrew for dealing with Bowman. He though is aghast at his behaviour, admitting he took things too far but equally the thought of someone hurting her isn't acceptable either. As he is saying that, he reaches out and tenderly takes Holly's hand in his, but as quickly as he reached for it, he quickly pulls back and tells her he has to go.
Number 26
Even though she has already heard, Byron drops by to personally tell Sadie that he is leaving tomorrow for Europe with Trevor. She is happy to hear him tell her and admits her jealousy that he gets to see Haz and Mackenzie! Byron is very happy to hear her accept his invitation to his farewell barbie.
Harolds café
Max has shopped until he's dropped to get meat for the barbie and sits down with a glum looking Taye. He's in a mood because unlike he who stopped using apps after hooking up with Sadie, he's discovered she is using them. Max reminds him that their thing is casual, so she's doing nothing wrong, and is equally sure that she will still have some time for him!
Penthouse suite
Byron continues the farewell tour when he drops by to thank Leo for his understanding in the yo- yoing over whether he was going or not. Leo is happy things are sorted for him and the pair hand out the plaudits before man hugging each other.
Lassiters car park
Given the mood he is in, Andrew (even though he isn't in uniform) heads over to give Rhett a ticking off for using his mobile phone while the engine is running and for not wearing a seat belt when he goes to reverse out of the space he's parked in. Rhett is very apologetic but Andrew isn't in the mood to listen and demands to see his licence!
Number 32 (garden)
Given the short notice, the farewell barbie isn't exactly overflowing with RSRs or random extras. Nicolette jokes with her brother that everyone is there to say "bon voyage" to Jane and not him!
Max relays news to Holly that the plane with his mum and sister on has now departed and he doesn't seem to think Holly is genuine when she comments that it is a shame they didn't stick around for the barbie.
While manning the barbie, Byron warns Taye that he'd better treat Sadie right - he acknowledges that she isn't "my person anymore" but she is "something special."
BYRON: Mess her around… I'll hear about it!
Lassiters Complex
Aaron has picked up better supplies for the barbie and invites Rhett to it. Before accepting, Rhett wants to know if Andrew will be there and goes on to explain what happened earlier, including the fact he ended up with a ticket.
RHETT: It was so petty.
While acknowledging that Andrew was correct in issuing the ticket, Rhett still thinks it's off. Aaron points out "Andrew is a stickler" and his brother Mark would have acted in the same way too but follows this up by telling Rhett not to take things to heart. Rhett then decides he's not in the right headspace, plus he doesn't want to see Andrew either, so turns down the barbie invite.
Number 32 (inside)
Sadie and Byron find themselves alone inside the house and he admits that he doesn't really want to leave but knows that doing so is "the best thing for me" and doesn't think he will regret it. Byron apologises for how things ended, admitting she's given him some of the "absolute highlights of my life." Sadie admits that he will always be important to her, especially since he was the one to teach her the important lesson of "what it's like to be loved."
Byron and Taye swap places and he wastes no time in showing off that he's back on the dating apps. However his plan backfires when Sadie appears unbothered by this.
Lassiters pavilion
Terese spots Andrew sitting nursing a cuppa and heads over to chat. We hear he is planning on giving the barbie a wide berth, he will say his goodbyes in the morning. She can sense he's not in the right headspace and Andrew admits he wishes Toadie was around to chat to. Terese does offer her ears but he turns the offer down and she heads off.
Moments after she leaves, Andrew's mobile goes off - his boss wanting a word!
Number 32 (inside)
Max comes inside and finds Taye down in the dumps, he's so besotted by Sadie that he wants to be exclusive with her, something that doesn't come naturally to him!
TAYE: I'm not meant to be in a couple, I'm meant to be with a couple of girls…or three… or four! But now…
MAX: It's just Sadie.
Taye has fallen for Sadie big time and admits she is the one for him. "Sounds like you're in a real pickle," Max comments and has a solution for Taye's dilemma - telling Sadie!
Number 32 (outside)
Aaron teases Byron that they have a farewell pressie… but it's a frisbee for Trevor! "Really feeling the love," Byron sarcastically replies before going over to chat with Isla. She wants to know why he is leaving and he gives her an explanation she will understand but promises to still chat and video call her while he is away.
Holly seeks Max out to apologise for going off on one at his sister. He does get why she acted like she did, but gets in that he had it covered. Max does though feel the need to apologise to her for forgetting to make space for her because he was "deep in it."
Taye rejoins the others outside and the gathered play a game of 'catch a high one' which is basically throwing a tennis ball into the air to see who can catch it. Trevor gets the loudest cheer when he goes into the pool to retrieve the ball when it landed there after Taye threw it a bit too far!
Number 32 (inside)
With the barbie over, the Number 32 residents (plus Holly/Sadie) have relocated inside and the atmosphere is a bit sombre although Holly perks up when Byron hands over his car keys to her. Byron has one last group hug with Holly/Sadie before heading back outside to help his mum/sister clear up.
BYRON: Well I will I'll see you when I see you.
Sadie suggests to Holly that they cheer up by heading out, however Holly rejects the offer as she is working. Taye offer to accompany Sadie instead but it's a "hard no" as she knows a guy from the Hotski app is going to be there.
After the ladies depart (with Holly wanting regular updates until Sadie is otherwise occupied!) Max has a go at Taye for his inactions but in his defence, he didn't think it was the right time to make his feelings known to Sadie.
MAX: Bro, you're going to miss your chance if you don't make a move.
Number 24
As Jane enters the house with her kids, she admits "it has been the greatest gift of my life" having both under her wing, having chosen to be here with her. Nicolette acknowledges that it has "been special for us too" and after hearing that, Jane pulls her kids in for a hug.
The Waterhole
Andrew drops by with some good news for Holly - when his boss wanted a word it wasn't to kick his butt for his confrontation with Bowman but instead to inform him that Bowman is moving to Cheltenham. Holly is very relived to hear this news but the happy smiley face disappears when Andrew squeezes in that with Bowman out of Erinsborough, she doesn't need him to protect her. Quicky recomposing herself, she says "good news" with a fake smile on her face until he leaves then it's the sad/scowly face which comes back.
Number 32 (inside)
Byron is very mournful ahead of spending his last night in #32 before he leaves in the morning. He looks at the photos of the fridge with the original gang (himself with Haz, Mackenzie, Sadie and Holly) before going to get Haz's fancy coffee machine ready for its next brew. Picking up a pile of pizza boxes he asks Trevor if they can rebuild the famous leaning tower of pizza boxes that once graced the kitchen of #32.
BYRON: You're right… there's no going back.
With one final look at the place, Byron switches off the kitchen light before heading to his room.
Number 26 (next day)
It's the very early hours of the morning and Sadie is just home from her night out when there is a knock at the door. She calls out who is there and after Taye says his name, she goes to the door and lets him in. His explanation for the early morning call is he saw her come home and thought he'd come over! Naturally, she wants to know why he was watching the street at 4am but then it's like hold that thought, I need my bed!
TAYE: Look, I'm not cool with you being on Hotski. I'm not cool with you chatting to other guys and I'm really not cool with you hooking up with them!
SADIE: What?!
TAYE: I can't keep doing this casual thing Sadie. It's not working for me.
As far as Sadie is concerned, they are simply having fun, which Taye agrees with before adding that he wants more.
TAYE: I want a proper relationship with you or nothing at all.
