- Taye admits to Cara that he's worried he and Max put Holly in danger by antagonising Bowman
- Bowman smiles at Cara across the Lassiter's Complex, and she decides to chase him
- In the process, she bumps into Remi coming from the opposite direction; Remi hits her head and is out cold
Lassiter's Complex
Cara is frantic as an unconscious Remi fails to respond. Andrew says her pulse is weak. Karl appears and rushes over to help. Cara explains what happened and is crying, blaming herself. Andrew reassures her that it was an accident as he calls for an ambulance. Karl says they've done the right thing by not moving Remi.
KARL: Remi, it's Karl. Can you hear me?
Finally, Remi begins to open her eyes, and relief crosses Cara's face...
The Pavilion
Eerie music plays as the camera drifts around the area where Holly is working in the Lassiter's on Tap drinks van. Taye comes in after having checked the area, and reports that the coast is currently clear. Holly gives him a cocktail by way of reward! Holly tries to get him onto the topic of Sadie, but Taye says he'll need a few more margaritas first.
TAYE: How are you feeling?
HOLLY: Umm... you know, like I'm on a sinking ship without a lifeboat. People assume that because Bowman's keeping his distance that I should be okay. But he's calculated. Keeping your distance doesn't mean anything.
TAYE: Yeah, when that whole Lydia stuff was going down... I didn't know her next move. She was smart. *Is* smart.
HOLLY: How did you cope?
TAYE: I talked to Remi. It helped so much. Hard to open up, though.
HOLLY: Yeah, that sounds familiar.
Taye assures Holly that everyone empathises with her over Bowman and is on the lookout for him. She thanks him. At this point, Cara calls Taye, and breaks the news about Remi. He tells her he'll be right there...
Erinsborough Hospital
Taye arrives, joining Andrew, Cara and Karl in the waiting area. They can't see Remi at the moment but have been told not to worry too much; while she hit her head hard, she did regain consciousness fairly quickly, which is a good sign. Cara is still feeling guilty; she explains how she ran after Bowman and bumped into Remi. Taye asks Andrew what he's going to do about Bowman. But Andrew says he's allowed to be in town.
Andrew again assures Cara that it was an accident and she's not to blame. But then he remembers about Holly, and asks who is keeping an eye on her...
The Pavilion
Suspenseful music plays as Holly reads a book on her break. A hand lands on her shoulder - but it's only Karl, having come to check in. He doesn't think she should be working here given how jumpy she is. Holly insists she's fine but says she was expecting more custom today; it's very quiet. Karl reports that Remi has been very lucky given the knock she got, but he thinks she'll be okay.
Holly tells Karl he doesn't have to stick around for her sake - she's sure he has better things to do.
KARL: Holly, you are my daughter. And as such, you are the most important thing in my life.
HOLLY: That's really cheesy.
KARL: I know!
They hug.
Erinsborough Hospital
Remi is sitting up in bed and wearing an oxygen tube when Taye, Dex, JJ and Cara all come in to see her. Everyone's smiling except Cara who is still feeling fragile about it all.
TAYE: How are you feeling?
REMI: Judging by your faces, better than I look!
CARA: Sense of humour's not affected, then?
REMI: Ah, I'm a bit fuzzy, and I've got a killer headache. But considering what's happened, it's a good outcome.
JJ asks when she can come home. Remi says the doctors want to keep her here overnight to be safe.
DEX: Can't you just monitor yourself? You're a doctor.
REMI: That's what I said. Can you believe, I'm hearing whispers the staff are alleging I'm the worst patient ever?
JJ: Yeah, sounds about right!
CARA: Hey, Remi... I'm really sorry. This is my fault. And I should never have gone after Bowman.
REMI: I know you shouldn't have. But it's done now. Let's just move on.
CARA: I'm glad you're okay.
REMI: Me too. Could have been worse.
The Pavilion
Karl is still haunting Holly at the drinks van while she works, and critiquing her fruit- chopping technique - as well as complaining when she puts a bottle in the bin.
KARL: You can get ten cents back on these, you know!
HOLLY: Okay, that's it - I don't know what's worse! Your constant interfering, or Bowman coming at me with a syringe!
Karl gets a message from the council - they want him to come in and sign his onboarding documents for the new job. Holly is quite eager for him to leave! She adds that Max is planning to stop by on his way home from the garage, so Karl is persuaded to go.
Erinsborough Hospital
Andrew and Cara chat outside the entrance. Cara reports that Remi is doing okay, but says she may have to take some time off to look after her, and is aware that won't look great given she's only just started the job. Andrew tells her not to worry, and says these things happen - Tony, the senior sergeant, will likely let her shuffle things around while she looks after Remi.
ANDREW: Hey, look, as your friend... I know why you went after Bowman. But as your boss, I've got to tell you, that was the wrong call.
CARA: Yeah.
ANDREW: Let's say you caught up with him. What then?
CARA: I just wanted to talk.
ANDREW: Cara, you were sprinting at him.
CARA: Yeah, I know - I know. I guess I just want to know what's going on in his head. Remi doesn't trust him, and neither do I.
ANDREW: Unfortunately, the parole board let him out on good behaviour. There must be a reason.
CARA: Yeah, I understand how the system works. But respectfully, I think the parole board got it wrong. We're not talking about some petty criminal here, okay? He was poisoning people (...) So why is he out?
ANDREW: It's just how the law works.
CARA: I need to do more.
ANDREW: As long as it's within the scope of the law, I'm open to suggestions.
Lassiter's Complex
Karl telling Aaron about his new role of seniors advisor at the council - apparently he's the youngest person to take on the role in the history of the local authority, and the only one not to have had a hip replacement!
AARON: Wow! Youthful and agile. That is a lethal combination.
KARL: Haha, your words, not mine.
Karl heads off to the council to sign his papers, just as Andrew turns up. Andrew is worried to learn that Karl has left Holly without backup at the Pavilion. Aaron tells him that Max is headed there after his garage shift, but Andrew contradicts this, saying he's just been to the garage and Max is going to be there for hours on an emergency job...
Erinsborough Hospital
Cara, Dex, JJ and Taye are still with Remi and they are all playing poker. Taye says that Dex is cheating by looking at the reflection of JJ's cards in the window! To test the theory, JJ puts his hand behind his back.
JJ: How many fingers am I holding up, Dex?
REMI: JJ, put that down!
DEX: Thanks, Ma.
REMI: Dexter, stop cheating!
CARA: Well, I wonder where he gets that from (!)
Remi smiles at Cara. Cara then tells JJ and Dex that they've decided they should stay at No 32 with Taye tonight, as Cara's going to work night shifts for a while so that she can look after Remi during the day.
CARA: It'll also give me a chance to do some extra patrols by Bowman's apartment, just for peace of mind.
REMI: Cara! Look what's happened. Leave it alone!
DEX (excited): Well, if I'm staying with Taye, that means I'll be staying with Saskia too!
CARA: Uh... change of plans. Taye can stay at our place.
DEX: Oh, you guys are no fun.
TAYE: You shouldn't have said anything, you little rookie!
But Remi is now looking worried about Cara going after Bowman.
The Pavilion
Holly is still working, and telling Terese about Remi's condition as she makes her a smoothie. Holly is still looking a bit nervous, and explains that Max has been held up from coming over here because of work. Terese offers to stick around for a bit, but Holly says it's fine - she's just being silly.
As Terese walks off, however, we get the perspective via CreepyCam™ of somebody watching the drinks van from the bushes. It's then revealed to be Andrew who is watching. Seemingly he's intent on keeping an eye on Holly without the awkwardness of making his presence known to her...
Erinsborough Hospital
Remi reiterates to Cara that she wants her to stop going after Gavin Bowman. Cara isn't persuaded, saying it would be easier to move forward if they knew what his intentions were.
REMI: Cara, please!
CARA: I can see how much distress you're under just by him being here.
REMI: Yes, the man terrifies me! I want him as far away from my family as possible. But do you know what's causing me the most distress right now? You keep putting yourself in front of him!
CARA: Nothing is gonna happen to me.
REMI: It's not just about you! Look where we are. Who's next - Dex? JJ?
CARA: I'm not talking about confronting the guy. It's just a few extra patrols.
REMI: Please, just drop it! I don't need my wife chasing after a monster. I need her here, by my side!
CARA: So you're okay with him being out there, free to do whatever he wants?
REMI: I couldn't care less what he does, as long as he stays away from my family. This constant pursuit of Bowman is stressing me out - I can't keep doing this!
The Pavilion
Andrew is still lurking in the bushes watching over Holly, who is packing up for the day. Aaron is out for a jog and stops by the van for a glass of water. Aaron says Max feels awful about being held up at the garage. Holly says it turns out she doesn't need him, and everything was fine.
Holly suddenly gets the feeling that she's being watched, and looks towards the bushes - but dismisses the feeling and keeps clearing up.
No 30
Cara, JJ, Dex and Taye come in. Dex and JJ are feeling bad that Remi is in hospital on her own, but Cara says she needs a chance to rest. She promises they'll head back first thing in the morning to see her, and the boys go to bed. Taye is in a reflective mood, his smiles all gone now he's out of the hospital. Cara asks him if he's okay.
TAYE: Not really. I hate seeing Remi like that. I know it was an accident, but I... just feel like it was kind of my fault.
CARA: What? You are the last person who should be saying that. What happened is on me.
TAYE: If I hadn't told you what Bowman said to Max and I...
CARA: I'm glad you did. I just wish that I'd taken a minute and thought about it before I went after him.
TAYE: Remi's not upset with you. She said it herself.
Taye asks if Cara is headed to work, but she says she's decided to stay at home - she wants to be here. She goes to make them some tea.
Harold's Café
Holly is having a bite to eat. Karl comes in and chastises her for not telling him that Max was held up at work; he could have come back to the drinks van. But Holly says she needs to learn to deal with the discomfort and get on with it. The shift was challenging but she got through it. Karl is proud of her.
Andrew comes in, and makes eye contact with Holly. They both look awkward, and then Holly loudly declares that she told Krista she'd staff the drinks van again tomorrow. Karl isn't sure that's a good idea, but Holly says she has to try. At the counter, Andrew has overheard this and looks concerned.
Erinsborough Hospital
Terese is visiting Remi, and admits she's been worrying about her. Remi says she's fine, all things considered, and just grateful it isn't more serious. But she's holding back.
TERESE: And?
REMI: And... that's it.
TERESE: Oh, come on, Remi. When have you ever let me wriggle out of an honest conversation?
REMI: It's Cara. She's determined on pursuing Bowman. We've spoken about it, and she's saying the right things, but I know she's doing it just to appease me. I know my wife. She won't let it go.
TERESE: Yeah. Well, I'm no stranger to having a partner who has a tendency to fixate!
But at this point, disorienting music swells as Remi suddenly looks confused and loses focus. Her vision is swirling and blurring a little, and Terese asks if she's okay. Remi takes a while to respond, but eventually assures Terese she's fine, saying she just felt a little dizzy. Things still aren't right, though, as Terese continues to talk, and we hear her voice echoing.
TERESE: Hey, listen. Cara loves you. She's just coming from a place of concern. You'll find a way through this.
Remi nods and smiles, but doesn't look quite with it...
No 26
Aaron and Andrew are just back from a morning run. Aaron starts talking about running half- marathons but Andrew is unkeen! There's been no news on Remi yet this morning, Andrew reports, but thinks no news is good news. However, Andrew then gets a message from his colleagues - it's his day off, but there's going to be nobody available to check in on Holly at the Pavilion. His boss thinks it's not a priority.
AARON: Holly seemed fine yesterday. I'm sure she'll be okay today.
ANDREW: Yeah, but I said I would send patrols.
AARON: Yeah. Okay. You know the whole neighbourhood is keeping an eye on her? Even if you guys are stretched thin, Holly knows we've got her back.
Erinsborough Hospital
Remi is looking lively this morning and is excited when Dex and JJ come in to visit. She hugs them.
REMI: I wish I got this much love all the time, not just when I was incapacitated!
DEX (hugging her again): Be careful what you wish for.
REMI: Oh no, I surrender!
She confirms to the boys that she'll be coming home to day - she's just waiting for the discharge papers. Cara then comes in with a hot drink for Remi, saying she's sure she's sick of the hospital coffee.
REMI: Oh, yes, it is not their finest selling point.
But Remi looks a little confused.
REMI: Oh god, I'm still a little bit fuzzy. I don't remember ordering this?
CARA: It's okay. I just thought you'd want one.
REMI (confused): Thank you. That's very thoughtful.
Remi continues to talk normally with the boys, but when Cara chips in, she looks baffled again. Remi tells the boys they can get takeaway pizza tonight. JJ wants lots of garlic bread on the side.
CARA: I'm sure that can be arranged.
REMI: Sorry - did you need something else from me? Otherwise, I'd love a private moment with my sons.
CARA: What?
Cara, Dex and JJ all smile, thinking Remi is joking around.
REMI: Well, thank you for delivering the coffee, but we'd love to be alone now.
CARA: Babe, that's not funny.
REMI: Oh - 'babe'. Wow. That's very familiar... Do I *know* you?
CARA (worried): I'm not in the mood for games, Remi.
REMI (confused): No, nor am I... I don't know who you are.
Everyone looks worried.
