Paul and Chelsea are fussing over Thomas when Cara and Remi turn up. Chelsea is surprised to see them as Cara is starting at the police academy today. But Cara says it's just an induction, so not a big deal. Chelsea reports that Thomas is doing really well and that Dr Hart has said he should be able to come home tomorrow if his good progress continues.
CARA: I'm itching for a good- luck kiss on the forehead.
PAUL: I'm assuming you mean him, not me.
Paul prepares to head off, explaining that it's Nell's committal hearing today and he wants to be there for her and Terese. He tells Chelsea to reach out if she needs anything.

Holly, while listening to music via earphones, has made herself a chicken sandwich, and puts it on the dining table before returning to the kitchen to get a drink. While she's gone, Trevor sneaks through the open door and helps himself to half of the sandwich, then disappears again. When Holly turns back around, she's baffled to see the sandwich mostly gone.
At this point Byron, Max and Taye turn up - evidently Trevor has run on ahead from them, and now emerges from under the dining table.
HOLLY: Oh, you thieving pooch! You stole my lunch.
MAX: Sorry, Hols - he must have sniffed it out.
TAYE: It was chicken, wasn't it? He loves chicken.
HOLLY: You're lucky you're so cute. Otherwise it'd be straight to doggy jail for you, mister.
Taye invites Holly to a pool party they're having later at No 32 - Remi's coming over to play poker. Taye gets a phone call and ducks outside to take it. Max is keen on the pool party too, but Byron says he'll have to check on Sadie first.

Music plays as Sadie, clad in a dressing gown, stares apprehensively at the spa in the garden. Seemingly conflicted about being out in the open with the scars on her back visible, she undoes the gown in slow motion to reveal her swimming costume underneath. But at this point Byron turns up. When he sees her, he turns around and apologises for barging in. Sadie puts the gown back on, but tells Byron it's okay.
SADIE: I just decided to get my confidence back. Thanks to a little pep talk from Amanda.
BYRON: Uh, Nanna?
SADIE: I figured being in bathers outside again would be a good first step. Minus the crowd.
BYRON: Yeah. Well, that's awesome. And, go Nanna. Who would've thought she'd be such a fountain of wisdom?
SADIE: Yeah, she knows a little bit about self- esteem.
BYRON: True, that.
SADIE: She had a perspective I hadn't considered before. You know, she's pretty cool.
Byron tells Sadie about the pool party at No 32, but tells her there's no pressure to go; if she feels uncomfortable they can cancel it. Sadie doesn't want anyone else to miss out on the party, but says she'll need to think about whether she goes herself.
Penthouse
Terese is nervous ahead of Nell's hearing; Paul comes in, and she tells him that Nell is getting ready, and Toadie will soon be here.
PAUL: Terese, I owe you an apology. I let my anxiety get the better of me earlier, and I was out of line. So I'm so sorry I hurt you.
TERESE: Thank you. And while I really *was* acting out of concern, I admit that I... could keep a tighter grip on my insecurities in general.
They hold hands and agree they're 'good', but Terese says right now they need to focus on being a united front for Nell. Paul agrees.
Nell comes in in her court clothes, which Terese says look great. Toadie emerges from the lift and gives Nell a hug. He says they have a bit of time before they need to leave, so suggests they go through their game plan one more time.
They decide to head off to do this elsewhere as Nell feels like she's 'climbing the walls here'. But before following the others into the lift, Paul gazes, conflicted, at the framed photo on the shelf of him, Chelsea and Thomas.
Harold's Café
Cara is telling Remi how exciting her police academy induction was.
CARA: I thought it would be kind of overwhelming or scary, but I fit right in. I don't think I've ever been this buzzed about a job before.
REMI: I love that for you. Because happy Cara, happy Remi.
Remi promises, in hushed tones, to bake them a celebration chocolate cake tonight, if Cara promises not to 'rat her out'! Cara goes one better and proposes a celebratory muffin right now. But Aaron suddenly appears from nowhere!
AARON: Celebrate or cheat yourself?!
CARA: Woah, jeez! Where did you come from?
AARON: The better question is, where are you going? Have you forgotten your goals? You're out to smash your way through that academy and prove yourself against those younger recruits, aren't you?
CARA: Yeah.
AARON: Come on, say it louder.
CARA: Yes.
AARON: Because you are driven to make a positive difference in the world. Is one muffin really worth ruining all of that?
REMI: Two muffins?
CARA: No. None. I don't need any muffins.
AARON: That's right. You don't need muffins.
CARA: Hey, thanks for keeping me on track.
AARON: Gotcha.
CARA: And that's a 'no' to the cake, as well.
REMI: I'm gonna make you a celebratory salad.
AARON: No croutons. And I want that dressing on the side. You got this.
CARA: Thanks, mate.
REMI (strained): Yay!

In the garden, Wendy apologises to a visibly still annoyed Andrew for having gone behind his back about the Murrayville police job; she feels awful that his colleagues got the wrong end of the stick.
ANDREW: Don't make out like this was a misunderstanding, Wend.
WENDY: It was, though! I didn't mean for anyone to find out.
ANDREW: But you dropped my name. I mean, what did you think was gonna happen?
WENDY: I dunno. Look, I'm sorry. I really am. I think you're being a bit unfair. You said that you were gonna try harder to listen.
ANDREW: This is my career. What you did is not okay.
Andrew strops off to his self- defence class.
The Waterhole
Toadie, Nell, Terese and Paul are at a table, going through their strategy for the committal hearing. Toadie reminds Nell that everything they're saying in court is the truth - she's a victim in this.
NELL: I'm a survivor.
TOADIE: Yes. And that's why you don't deserve to be punished. Whenever anyone asks you anything, you just be honest. You're telling the judge not just your truth, it's *the* truth.
Toadie adds that the lawyer they've hired, Ishan, is excellent, so they should let him do his job. Nell is worried about what will happen if the charges aren't dropped, but Toadie assures her that whatever happens, he'll be here with her, and Terese echoes the sentiment.
Krista and Leo turn up, and both wish Nell luck with the hearing. Terese says it's time they head to the court, but Paul gets a message saying the paediatrician looking after Thomas wants to meet him and Chelsea. Terese tells Paul he should go; Nell has enough support around her, and they probably wouldn't be allowed in the room anyway.
PAUL: Are you sure?
TERESE: You made an effort to be here. That's good enough.
Paul takes Terese's hand.
PAUL: I know things have been really difficult lately. But it is gonna get easier, okay?
He kisses her before leaving. Terese looks conflicted.
Lassiter's Lake
Andrew is setting up for his self- defence class; regular attendees Sandra and Phil are there. Andrew is chatting to a new participant, Archie, who is in Year 12 and has decided to join the class to 'let off some steam' - though as he says it, he appears to be ogling Sandra. He then goes over to her and starts being problematic.
ARCHIE: A bit old for me, but sure, we can chat.
SANDRA: In your dreams!
Aaron and Cara turn up for the class. Andrew jokingly reminds Aaron that this is his class, and he's in charge!
AARON: Excuse me! I am here to support a future police officer.
CARA: Okay, stop making out.
Cara tells Andrew that her induction went well; she's loving it already. At this point, Wendy turns up to take part too, and is disconcerted to see Sandra here, who she recognises as the woman with the crush on Andrew. Andrew and Sandra are talking; we can't hear what they're saying but Sandra lifts Andrew's shirt at the arm, exposing his tattoo. Andrew doesn't seem to be fending her off.
WENDY (out of earshot): That's my bicep, lady!

The party is getting underway and Remi has arrived with her poker set to play with Taye, Byron and Max.
REMI: So, Pot- Limit Omaha or Texas Hold 'Em?
BYRON: Uh...
REMI: Oh, relax. This is all new - I'm not *that* good.
Byron's worried they're about to get hustled - Remi says they'll have to play and find out! But she's surprised Taye suggested a poker day 'considering how broke you are'.
MAX: Wait, what? You're broke again? I can't keep up.
REMI: When are you *not* broke?
TAYE: ... I'm not here to talk about money. I'm here to win it!
At this point Trevor bounds onto the patio and grabs one of the rolls of poker chips in his mouth, before running off with it, to everyone's amusement.
Holly emerges from the house and asks Byron if Sadie's coming. But before he can answer, Sadie herself turns up, having decided to come after all. Byron kisses her and tells her she looks beautiful.
As Max puts some music on, Taye looks at his phone, and we see messages from Lydia. 'I think I need you to play me like a piano very soon...' says one, before asking him to come round to her place tomorrow at 9pm. Taye replies that he'll see her then. Remi comes over.
REMI: I know exactly what you're doing... You're looking up tactics. It's not gonna help you.
Taye smiles, relieved that she hasn't rumbled what he was really up to.
Lassiter's Lake
The self- defence class is in full swing as the attendees hone their skills. Wendy is working with Phil and Aaron with Cara, while Archie has been paired with Sandra - but she is not happy when he grabs her from behind to practice one of their moves and says...
ARCHIE: It feels like a hug.
SANDRA (shouting): Stop coming on to me!
ARCHIE: I wasn't coming on to you!
SANDRA: It seemed like it.
ARCHIE: I'm 18. It was a joke!
SANDRA: It wasn't funny.
Andrew comes over to mediate and Sandra tells him that she's being harassed. Andrew asks Archie if this is the right class for him, and he storms off in a huff. Andrew checks if Sandra's okay, and she says she is now. He's about to go and find her another partner, but she claims that Archie really hurt her arm when he grabbed her, and asks Andrew to take a look. Reluctantly he starts massaging her shoulders!
This goes on for rather too long and soon gets Wendy's attention. Wendy does not look happy at all.
The Waterhole
Nell, Terese and Toadie come in following the committal hearing. We're in slow motion as we wonder which way it's gone, but eventually Nell smiles with relief and says she can't believe that happened.
TOADIE: I told you your mum was looking out for you.
Apparently, the judge quickly dropped all the charges because, in Toadie's view, 'the cops should never have laid them in the first place'.
TOADIE: Today makes every single struggle in law school worth it. Being able to secure my daughter's freedom. With good help from Ishan, of course.
Ishan being the actual lawyer on duty - if it had been Toadie, we might be looking at a very different result! But Nell, at least, is convinced, and gives Toadie a hug.
NELL: This is all thanks to you, Dad. I love you.
Toadie suggests they get some chips, and this plan appears to meet with Nell's approval. Terese smiles.
Erinsborough Hospital
Paul is at the paediatric intensive care unit when he gets a text from Terese, saying that Nell's charges have been dropped and asking him to join them when he can. Chelsea comes to join him; we learn the doctor has given Thomas the all- clear to go home tomorrow, and he won't need much follow- up. Chelsea asks if Paul has to get back, saying the nurse is running a bath for Thomas. Paul says he's stick around.
As Paul heads off to the loo, Chelsea is concerned when Jeffrey Swan appears. Apparently he texted her earlier and she said she was at the hospital.
CHELSEA: That wasn't an invitation to join me. Thomas has been very ill.
JEFFREY: Oh, I'm... sorry to hear that. I really need to talk to you - let's grab a coffee. You can give me an update on the bub.
CHELSEA: How about I call you tomorrow?
JEFFREY: I'd rather catch up in person. I'll just hang around here until you can squeeze in a little break.
CHELSEA: Uh, no need for that. I'll meet you at Harold's in an hour.
Jeffrey agrees to see her then, and walks out. Chelsea looks anxious.
Lassiter's Lake
Wendy has brought some muffins as post- workout treats for the participants. Cara looks tempted but with Aaron watching, she resists the muffins. Wendy is not pleased to see Andrew talking to Sandra again, and tells Aaron...
WENDY: He is punishing me.
Despite Aaron's suggestions to wait, Wendy storms over to have it out with Andrew, Sandra having just left.
WENDY: Look, I know I made a mistake. I know that. But I don't deserve this.
ANDREW: Wendy, I...
WENDY: No, no. Flirting with someone else in public - in front of me, in front of our friends - what are you thinking? Oh, wait - did you just think I wouldn't notice?
Andrew tries to object further, but Wendy talks over him.
WENDY: I don't deserve this, Andrew! Look, you have made it very clear that you don't respect my career goals. But the least you could do is respect our marriage!
ANDREW: Wendy, this is not the time or place.
She keeps going, but then turns to see that Cara, Aaron and all the others are staring at them awkwardly. Wendy falls quiet, and Andrew looks annoyed.

On the patio, Remi, Taye and Byron are playing poker - Taye sitting close to Remi, she suggests, so he can try and peek at her cards - while Max plays with Trevor by the pool, and Sadie and Holly sit nearby talking. Taye keeps getting message notifications and Remi remarks that it's been happening all day.
REMI: Somebody wants you bad.
BYRON: Yeah, who's the desperado?
But Taye claims it's just spam and puts his phone away. Meanwhile, Holly tells Sadie how proud she is of her coming to the party.
SADIE: I'm not sure why, you weirdo.
HOLLY (laughs): Okay, everybody - here's to the bravest and coolest person I know - the glorious and effervescent Sadie... middle name unknown... Rodwell!
Byron chips in, saying Sadie's middle name is Mei (or, that's how the subtitles spell it) and otherwise agreeing with Holly's sentiments. Everyone raises their glasses. Remi then gets a full house, winning the round against Taye and Byron.
Byron gets a message from Haz in Paris.
HOLLY: If it's another photo of him eating snails, can you tell him it's not cool or interesting - it's, like, food?
But Byron's face falls when he reads the text. He tells everyone that Haz wants Trevor to join him and Mackenzie in Paris. Everyone looks sad at the prospect of losing Trevor, who is swimming around in the pool.
Harold's Café
Chelsea is waiting anxiously for Jeffrey when Cara comes in. Chelsea doesn't tell Cara about the meeting, but tells her that Thomas is still due home tomorrow and that he really enjoyed his bath - as did Paul.
CARA: Hey, did I, uh,... sense something between you two this morning?
CHELSEA: I didn't expect it. And I haven't been pushing for it. I never thought I'd be able to compete with Terese.
CARA: They're together, Chelsea.
CHELSEA: I'd given up on the idea of having Paul in my life again romantically. But now, it doesn't seem impossible. Babe, I... I think he has feelings for me too.

Andrew and Wendy are arguing as they come in. Andrew insists he was trying to set Sandra straight when they were talking together, but Wendy is sceptical, accusing Andrew of 'playing games' throughout the class. Andrew says Wendy's the one in the wrong, for logging into the police portal with his passwords to job- hunt.
WENDY: Let's just stop talking about what I did, and start talking about why I did it. You know, I've never questioned your career. Never stood in your way. You know, you say 'go' and I go. You say, 'ooh, stay' and I stay.
ANDREW: Yeah, because we make decisions as a family.
WENDY (laughs): Oh, do we? Or do I just fall into line? I am always second to you, Andrew.
ANDREW: I am sorry that you see it that way, because I don't.
WENDY: Yeah, is that why you were so quick to rule out Murrayville? Wouldn't even explore how it might work.
ANDREW: Yeah, because of Sadie.
WENDY: (...) But let's just put her out of it for a second. What do *you* think about moving?
ANDREW: You can't just put her out of it.
WENDY: And this is what I'm talking about. All I want is an open mind. But you just keep on hiding behind our daughter because you're trying to avoid admitting that you don't want to go.
ANDREW: It doesn't matter what I want. If it's not good for Sadie, then it's not good for our family.
Wendy looks incredulous.
The Waterhole
Krista and Leo have joined Toadie, Terese and Nell for celebratory drinks following Nell's successful hearing. Toadie's booked a flight for tomorrow, as he needs to get back to Hugo and Angie, but is around to celebrate this evening. Paul turns up and congratulates Nell, as well as Toadie for 'getting it done'. Terese decides they should order some food.
While the others all get a table, Paul messages Chelsea, asking her to give Thomas a kiss from him tonight. We also see her previous messages to him, where she's confided in Paul her fears over Thomas's health, and thanked him for being there for Thomas and for her.
Harold's Café
Chelsea gets Paul's text and smiles. Jeffrey comes in to join her, noting that she looks happy.
CHELSEA: My baby's gonna be okay. I couldn't be happier. So what makes you so keen to hear about Thomas? You made it pretty clear you're not into babies.
JEFFREY: Doesn't mean I don't care.
CHELSEA: What do you want, Jeffrey?
JEFFREY (sly smile): Figured it was time to check in and see if you're enjoying having everything you ever wanted. Maybe get a little 'thank you'.
CHELSEA: For what?
JEFFREY: For making it happen. Paul Robinson's not the father of your baby, Chelsea. I am.
CHELSEA: No. We did a test.
JEFFREY: I knew how much you wanted it to be Paul, so I switched the results. It's okay. The truth need never come out. We just need to make a deal.
Chelsea looks worried...
