Lassiters hotel (foyer)
Krista is about to take the lift to the penthouse floor when Paul comes out and pulls her aside to tell her about Leo doing a runner. He then hands over the envelope with her name on it and she begins to read what Leo has written to her:
LEO: I hate that I've left without saying goodbye. If I stay, I know I'll go to jail. Abby can't grow up without both her parents, I can't do that to her, and I can't drag you down with me. I'll always love you, Leo.
Lassiters lake
JJ catches Nell staying by her lake, confused over why she isn't in her school uniform like he is. The lass is really in a quandary over what to do, still haunted by the memories of what happened that night despite JJ's comforting reassurance.
Eirini Rising
Darcy is telling the K's and Terese that his new pitch style has proved very popular he's booked out The Waterhole beer garden for it. Susan seems taken by Darcy's enthusiasm over his new pitch idea, and when they leave to head to The Waterhole, Karl stays behind to voice his concerns to Terese. He feels that a lot of those attending Darcy's pitch are Eirini residents and doesn't think that is a good idea, and neither does Terese so she's arranged an alternative option (an offsite bingo brunch) at the same time Darcy's pitch is going to be happening.
Karl is happy that Terese has something up her sleeve but once he leaves, Paul calls to let her know about Leo doing a runner.

A mini summit involving Paul, Terese, Aaron and Krista is ongoing trying to work out what to do with the news of Leo taking off during the night. Paul wants them to keep quiet and fob anyone off who are looking for Leo. This also includes Byron who might need him regarding Yorokobi, just in case he then inadvertently mentions something to Georgia, who will be forced to report his disappearance to the police. Terese wonders though how he will get around his regular bail check- ins while Krista is frustrated Leo didn't come to her for help.
Nell arrives home wondering if breakfast [with Terese] is still on and is told its off as something has come up involving Leo's case and they will do brekkie tomorrow.
Number 26 (garden)
Remi and Cara come calling to talk to Andrew, Remi wants him to talk Cara out of being a police officer. Andrew gets Remi to say why she doesn't want Cara to be a cop (mostly safety related) which he takes on board but then tries to turn things around to make it sound less dangerous. Despite Remi's stance, Cara is very keen on moving things forward and makes herself comfy so Andrew can tell her more about the life of a cop.
The Waterhole (beer garden)
Chelsea is helping Darcy get ready for his latest pitch when the K's arrive, and he formally introduces her to them as "my girlfriend". The K's take the news in their stride and Susan goes to assist Chelsea finishing setting up… but they might need to rethink the catering after Darcy gets news the Eirini residents are no longer coming as they are heading elsewhere! "Was this your doing?!" Darcy asks Karl and it's a no, that was down to Terese, but he isn't displeased due to his rationale that the residents shouldn't be involved in Darcy's business.
Lassiters hotel foyer
As they are about to exit the hotel, Terese and Paul run into Det. Fox who wants to know why Leo didn't check in with the police today and who isn't answering his phone either. Paul tries to blab it that something must have come up for Leo, but he will be checking in soon enough and although suspicious, Det. Fox leaves them to it.
Paul then remembers they need to say something to Abby's school too over why she is absent, and Terese suggests she does that.
The chats have been witnessed in the background by Nell and Paul indicates that Terese can tell her the truth this time, which she does.
Lassiters Complex
Paul is running thought his 'planning the worst conversation' he had with Leo when Remi interrupts to tell him about Cara planning on joining the police and why. Remi is utterly shocked when he readily gives into Remi's suggestion of removing the compliance officer role from Cara to help her stay at Lassiters.
Number 24
Krista and Aaron are racking their brains trying to work out where Leo has gone (they reckon abroad) and if anyone could have helped him but their conversation is quickly halted when Jane and Byron arrive home. Byron is moaning about some of the Yorokobi jobs he needs to do, so Aaron runs interference by helping teach Byron how to deal with some aspects of the jobs Leo would do, so not to bother him!
With Jane making everyone a cuppa, Krista goes over to chat with Isla. She is fed up playing this game (Wombat Watch) because Abby keeps beating her! "Are you playing Abby right now?" Krista asks and the reply back is "yes" and you can see the cogwheels start to turn when Isla confirms that the pair of them can chat via the game too.
The Waterhole (beer garden)
Remi and Karl watch on as Darcy and Chelsea set up for the presentation. He concedes that Darcy's idea is a sound one but has concerns that those investing "won't understand what they are investing in" and potentially could be taken advantage of, something Karl definitely doesn't want to happen. Karl persuades Remi to stay and watch Darcy's pitch, to see if people are being taken advantage of, just in case his opinion is biased because of his relationship with Darcy and knowing his past too.
After finishing setting up, given the Eirini residents won't be attending, Darcy hopes that [other] people will come along and is told to not stress by Chelsea.
Lassiters hotel foyer
Paul is waiting for the lift when Det. Fox accosts him again to say there has been no word from Leo. "I'm not my son's keeper," Paul reminds him with before adding he is sure the busy Leo will turn up. Paul intimates that Leo is busy at the winery, so Det. Fox plans on sending some uniforms out there to check. "Who said anything about him being there?" Paul comments, so Det. Fox asks where else would he be working but Paul doesn't say anywhere specific, just related to the vineyard.
DET. FOX: You're playing games with me Paul.
PAUL: You're not my type.
DET. FOX: I hope you're not lying to me? Not only would that be a waste of my time, it would be an obstruction of justice.
Number 26
Andrew and Cara are running though why she really wants to join the force. She thinks joining up will give her life "real meaning and purpose" something she seems to think is "exciting" which is how Andrew feels, well most of the time! Cara really wants to do this but has to convince Remi to get on the same page as her.
The Waterhole (beer garden)
So it would appear that when the Eirini residents pulled out, Chelsea got on the blower to some former business associates and got them to come along, and one in particular, Mila Nitschke, liked what Darcy said and plans to make contact with him to hear more. He is very grateful for what Chelsea did and even Remi seemed impressed too with what he said and in turn, he thanks her for the questions asked which he's sure others had too.
"You just won over the biggest sceptic," Chelsea says to Darcy after Remi leaves and so declares today "a huge success!"
DARCY: Me too!

When Terese (and Nell) arrive home, she immediately can see that Paul is despondent and rushes over to ask what is wrong. At this point, Nell officially hears about Leo doing a runner and that Paul is hesitant to make some calls as that might then give the game away over what Leo has done especially since Det. Fox is already suspicious. Terese thinks the best idea is to find Leo and bring him home, but Paul is fearful of him being caught before that can happen as it would mean him not getting a fair trial. She warns he is getting ahead of himself, but Paul seems almost resigned to the worst happening, which for him is never seeing Leo and Abby again.
PAUL: I just… I can't lose another son.
With Terese consoling Paul, Nell gets back into the lift they just arrived in.
Number 22
Given how well the day has gone, Darcy goes to the fridge for a bottle of wine, however rather than having it in the living room, Chelsea suggests they go elsewhere to celebrate and the pair head upstairs to someone's bedroom!
Number 24
Isla is now getting frustrated at Abby cheating as the pair continue to play their game. Krista wants to get from Isla where Abby is, but quickly she replies back that Abby doesn't know. Isla announces that she is bored but before the lass heads off, Krista asks her to tell Abby to hit one of the icons on the screen, the one that says, 'share location'! Isla does as she's asked, then runs off to do something more exciting (colouring in) and once Abby hits the button, her location comes up on a map on the screen. Krista can't get out of the house quickly enough with her newly acquired knowledge!
Lassiters car park
Karl catches up with Remi to ask how the presentation went. "Very informative," is her reply along with Darcy's presentation was very open and could answer questions asked too.
REMI: If I had any money, maybe I'd invest.
Karl seems shocked at hearing that and is reassured he's got nothing to worry about.
Cara spots Remi just before she gets to her car and rushes over. Remi apologises for rushing off from #26 and informs Cara of the result of her chat with Paul - the compliance officer role has been dropped, so she can go back to doing the job she loves. While grateful Remi went into bat for her, Cara has her mind made up to join the police and has just handed in her resignation letter!
CARA: I know we have a lot to talk about in terms of the police stuff, but just thinking about it has made things really clear for me. Lassiters is not my future and I've been unhappy here for a long time.
Number 26
Wendy comes home in a foul mood, she didn't get to work today, nor any wages, as they'd already booked another teacher to cover!
Number 30
JJ has skived off school early after a call from Nell. She tells him about Leo (and Abby) taking off, because he was convinced he was going to jail, and nobody knows where they've gone to.
NELL: I cannot handle the guilt anymore JJ.
JJ: I thought you said you were going to wait and see what happens?
NELL: Yeah, that was before, when Leo was going to get off. Now… I have to tell Terese everything.
Out in the sunroom, Chelsea is having some R&R away from Thomas and she conveniently puts on the baby monitor just in time to hear Nell's admission:
NELL: It's my fault that Seb is dead. I killed him, not Leo!
Coming up on Neighbours
- Susan warning Darcy.
- Darcy bringing up second chances.
- Paul hearing a warrant is out for Leo's arrest.
- Krista going to see Leo.
- Leo telling Krista their flight to Brazil is that night
