Lassiter's Complex
Krista blames herself for how Stan treated Leo. She ignored Stan's calls and he eventually turned up. She thinks he would have stayed away if she'd got back to Stan. Leo doubts that would have happened.
KRISTA: He's a grieving father and I should have spoken to him.
Leo can relate as a parent to how Stan feels. The police have told Stan that Leo is responsible, so Stan believes that.
Byron comes over, he saw what happened with Stan. Byron needs to discuss the case but is doubtful whether to discuss it later. Leo wants him to go ahead and realises it's not good news. Dr Hill seems to now think Seb was pushed after seeing the evidence, so they need to line up another witness. Dr Hill has talked to the police and will give evidence for the prosecution.
No.30
Taye isn't happy as he comes in and Cara is trying to get him to calm down. Remi wants them to sort it out calmly. Cara apologises, today was tough. She shouldn't have let Taye take the brunt of it. Taye will clear up but still plans to move up. He's not overly impressed with a crying baby living here too. Remi wants him to give Thomas time to get a sleep routine. Taye needs his sleep so needs to move out! Remi is enjoying spending time with him. Taye plans to stick around.
TAYE: I just can't be here anymore.
Remi looks crestfallen.
No.26
Andrew is watching TV as Wendy arrives home. It took a while to leave Craigieburn. Andrew realises it's due to a pileup happening on the freeway. She was requested to teach Economics which is completely unknown to her. She didn't have any plans to follow. She admits the other day wasn't as great as she made out.
WENDY: I'm basically a glorified babysitter now.
Andrew admits that he enjoyed messing around when he had a relief teacher at school. Wendy points out that he didn't think about how that made the relief teacher feel. Andrew apologises and realises how she must feel. She thinks the same will happen the next day at Point Cook. She groans as it's quite a way away.
WENDY: Remind me why I wanted to be a teacher.
The Waterhole
Byron and Krista want to stay positive. Leo agrees but wants to be practical as well. Leo wants Byron to take full responsibility at Yorokobi. Byron is already dealing with the client stuff. Leo points out that he needs Byron to deal with everything else if he goes down. Stan could target the business. Byron wonders what Stan is capable of.
LEO: Do you want to wait and find out?
Byron must agree and they go off to talk through things.
No.26 Backyard
Cara arrives; Wendy tells her Andrew is at the gym. Cara wanted to find out what is happening with Jordan, but it can wait. Wendy invites Cara to have a glass of wine; she's already had one. Cara agrees and promises not to judge. Wendy admits that a student locked the door and she couldn't get into the classroom. The day didn't improve. Cara sympathises, she's not having a good day as she's not popular and has too much work on.
WENDY: You have to punish people all day long.
CARA: The dream was making a fair and honest workplace.
WENDY: Mine was fostering a generation of future artists.
Cara knows in time it will happen for Wendy. Wendy hopes so but knows being full- time would be better now.
CARA: I feel like I've lost all sense of direction.
They toast their glasses.
No.32 Backyard
Max jumps into the pool. Holly checks that it's just two them as Taye and Byron aren't home. Holly decides to skinny dip. Max appreciates this and does the same. They go to kiss as Taye arrives. He gabbles fast about what has happened oblivious to what is going on. He thinks it's great for everyone as they need a new housemate and he needs new lodgings.
TAYE: Maybe this has happened for a reason.
Max asks if they can chat later and Taye clocks what's happening! He realises and turns away.
Lassiter's Complex (Outside The Waterhole)
Leo is explaining everything to Byron about the wages. Byron thinks Leo is going over too many areas, but Leo knows the staff will want to be paid. Byron isn't sure if Stan will carry out his threat. Leo doesn't know how long he will be around for. Byron is convinced Leo won't be jailed but Leo knows there aren't any guarantees. The forensics evidence is pointing towards Leo, and no other suspects are lined up.
LEO: Help me prepare for the worst.
No.32 Backyard
Taye is still talking with his back to Max and Holly who are now out of the pool and getting changed. Taye is raving about how they can do their own thing as they have their own place.
TAYE: Who's stopping you?
MAX: You are.
Taye apologises but needs a place to rent. They give him permission to turn back round. Taye carries on trying to convince them plus it will be all boys. It's a yes from Max but they're not so sure it will definitely be a yes from Byron. Taye is still optimistic.
The Waterhole
Leo arrives and wants to bring forward the Easter Egg hunt.
AARON: Does Abby have a clash in her social schedule?
Leo laughs, he wants to be able to do these things whilst it's still possible. Aaron agrees and is surprised Leo wants to do it the same day. Aaron doesn't mind as he's about to finish work and will go and buy what they need. Leo gets a call and tells the person that he needs something done right away.
LEO: Just do whatever it takes to speed things up.
Leo heads off as Aaron looks thoughtfully at him.
Lassiter's Complex
Holly thinks Byron won't be overly keen as he and Max aren't close. Max agrees and thinks Taye will help the household dynamic.
HOLLY: You need a bit of bromance in your life?
Max wants to help Taye as they're both new to the area. Holly understands and reminds him that Byron is still getting over Sadie moving out. He promises to sort things out if Sadie wants to move back to the sharehouse.
They go over to Byron who isn't keen on being interrupted as he's busy. He starts babbling and Byron wants to cut to the chase. Max explains that Taye wants to move in. Byron points out that he's got a lot on, and he doesn't think they should make Sadie's house with ‘a bunch of bros'. Holly gently reminds him that Sadie is settled at No.26. She thinks this would help Taye.
No.30
Cara arrives home with wine and chips as a peace offering. Remi is still not happy and points out that Cara wasn't fair as Chelsea also doesn't pay rent.
REMI: Calling Taye a freeloader was harsh.
Cara accepts she was in the wrong. Taye still plans to move out and has packed his things. Cara apologises and offers Remi a glass of wine. Remi accepts and concedes that Taye will stay local to them. She asks for the chips as there's a knock at the door. Remi goes out to the sunroom to eat the chips.
Andrew arrives and knows Cara was looking for him. Jordan has been on her mind. Andrew reminds her that she was going to let the police deal with this. Cara still has questions. Jordan will be in remand till she's sentenced. The other guy is being monitored. The other guys are known for petty stuff but not violent crimes.
CARA: I just needed to make sure my family is safe.
Andrew has reassured her, she won't overstep.
Lassiter's Complex
Krista is telling Leo that she has got Easter eggs and baskets for the egg hunt. Byron comes over to them, and Leo worries it will be bad news. Byron points out he's got a lot to juggle. Leo knows he can handle it. He would like Nicolette's help at some point though he knows Leo isn't keen on that. Leo agrees to Nicolette coming onboard.
LEO: It's a good contingency plan.
Krista and Byron are surprised at Leo's reaction. Leo is happy to get Byron what he needs.
No.26 Backyard
Wendy is telling Andrew if she leaves at the crack of dawn to get to Point Cook it's the only possible way to get there. Andrew thinks it's better than dealing with a lot of traffic. Wendy points out he's not having to actually doW it. Andrew thinks the kids will be kinder to Wendy; she is doubtful! Andrew points out the school is near the ocean, Wendy isn't swayed as she hasn't got free time.
WENDY: I'm not going there for a picnic.
She apologises for getting agitated. She heads inside for relaxation time as Cara arrives. Andrew lets Cara know that Jordan is behind bars. She repeats her promise to stay in her lane.
ANDREW: Maybe you shouldn't.
No.24
Leo is taking a video as Isla and Abby hunt for Easter eggs. Leo shares their excitement as they find eggs. Aaron and Krista look on.
AARON: This must be so tough for him.
Krista updates Aaron about the witness. Krista is determined to find another witness, so Leo stays out of jail. Krista knows that it has got to Leo.
KRISTA: I feel like he's starting to lose hope.
No.32 Backyard
Taye is carrying some boxes as Remi wheels a suitcase. Remi feels sad about this outcome. Taye points out he will be close by. She wants to make up for lost time. Taye suggests a poker match each week.
REMI: You like losing that much?!
Taye plans to improve with practice! They continue to banter as Byron, Holly and Max appear from inside the house.
BYRON: We're very happy to have you here.
MAX: Not just because it's helping us out with rent.
TAYE: This place already feels like home.
Trevor gets up to investigate as Taye intentionally falls into the pool fully clothed! The others laugh as Trevor jumps into the pool. Taye has lost one shoe as he swims across the pool.
No.24
Aaron is helping the girls to find the last eggs. Leo and Krista are watching the video of the girls. Krista comments Abby and Isla will be full of sugar tonight.
LEO: I can think of worse things.
Krista is optimistic tomorrow things will improve. Leo feels like he's dangling over the edge of a cliff and holding on for dear life.
KRISTA: I said I would do anything to protect you.
LEO: I love you for trying.
No.30
Remi is stirring the dinner as Cara arrives home. Remi notes she's been gone a long time and has a great big smile on her face.
CARA: I'm going to be a cop.
Remi is stunned at this news. Cara was stunned as well when Andrew suggested the same thing. Andrew is impressed with Cara's actions over the past year plus her instincts and questions she asked him today. He thinks she just needs to undertake training. The Police Academy is recruiting so Cara is going to apply. Remi is speechless as Cara goes to set up the laptop.
Penthouse
It's late at night. Leo is packing a holdall as Abby brings her things. He gently reminds her that she's limited to a toy and book.
ABBY: Is Isla coming?
LEO: It's an adventure for the two of us.
Abby agrees and they make their escape. Leo leaves envelopes for Paul and Krista.
