Previously on Neighbours
- Byron opts to save Nicolette from the garage fire first, while Sadie sustains agonising burns
- As such, Sadie refuses to even see Byron when he comes to her room at the hospital, telling him to get out
- On their honeymoon, Krista tearfully confesses to Leo that she slept with Sebastian before the wedding
- Back in Erinsborough, Fallon urges Leo not to give up on his 'amazing' relationship with Krista
- Krista tells Leo she's willing to do all it takes to get them through this. Leo's not sure it's possible
- Seb's body is recovered by police from Lassiter's Lake, leaving Krista and Fallon distraught

No 28
Karl tersely tells Darcy he should have knocked; Darcy responds that the door was open, and demands to know why Karl is still taking the painkillers in secret.
KARL: The break to my femur was complex, alright? It's been slow to heal. Sometimes I just need some relief.
DARCY: Karl, you of all people know how addictive this medication can be.
KARL: Yes, I know - I know. It's really not an issue. I... I'd appreciate your discretion. I wouldn't want Susan to worry.
Darcy looks unsure.
Erinsborough Police Station
Detective Rafe Fox, who appears to be leading the investigation into Sebastian's death, arrives to interview Krista. He assures her it's 'all routine'.
FOX: I understand this is a difficult time for you.
KRISTA: Yeah. I can't believe that he's gone.
She asks if Fox has checked the CCTV footage from last night; he says they're still going through it, and asks Krista when she last saw Seb.
KRISTA: It was the morning of my wedding. March 17th.
FOX: At the wedding?
KRISTA: No, he wasn't there.
FOX: ... Can I ask why not?
KRISTA: Umm... he and my husband, they didn't get along.
We now cut to Fox interviewing Leo, who admits it's no secret that he disliked Seb; he mentions Seb's drug and alcohol issues, and that he was 'trouble'. Detective Fox appears to be having trouble getting his pen to work (!) so Leo offers him one from his pocket.
LEO: So, do you guys think it was an accident? Maybe he had a big night and fell?
FOX: We're still waiting on the autopsy and the toxicology reports.
LEO: ... Um, I did see him with a loan shark a while ago. That could be relevant.
We cut back to Krista's interview. Detective Fox is now munching on a sandwich (!) while Krista tells him about how she'd paid off Seb's debts and thought he was in a better place. But she admits she's been on her honeymoon and hasn't spoken to Seb since. Fox asks her when she got back...
... but we then cut to Leo answering the same question.
LEO: Last night.
FOX: Separate to your wife?
LEO (evasive): Well, my daughter's here, so I had to come back and see her.
FOX: Hmm. What time did you get in?
LEO: Uh... eleven... ish.
FOX: Did anyone see you come in?
LEO: No. No, everyone was asleep by the time I got back. I just saw my dad this morning.
Fox asks Leo if there's anyone else who knew Seb that they should talk to, but we cut to Krista answering. She suggests Fallon.
Cutting back to Leo, he offers up more info on the loan shark, and says he also saw Seb with a drug dealer. Fox smiles and says that would be helpful. Leo looks a bit shifty.
The Waterhole
Max, Holly, Byron and Nicolette are sitting in a row with drinks, looking sombre as they discuss Jane having found Seb's body. Max and Byron are on beer, Holly is on coffee, and Nicolette knocks back a shot before sticking a lump of lime in her mouth and sucking on it!
Max asks Byron if he's heard from Sadie. Byron says she's still not 'letting me in'. Nicolette points out that 'to be fair', Wendy has been with her the whole time (perhaps meaning that Sadie's been too busy with her to see Byron), but Holly says Wendy's now gone back to Murrayville.
Harold's Café
Karl comes in and sees Susan and Darcy sitting at a table together. They are talking about Darcy's plans for the integrated health centre. Susan thinks his plans are very impressive, and Darcy jokingly asks whether she has a few million to invest in the project!
Karl comes over to join them. Darcy pointedly says that the health centre would offer everything from Reiki to 'addiction management programmes', which puts Karl on edge...
Lassiter's Complex
Krista is sitting outside the café with Melanie, and still visibly very upset. Leo is still in the police station being interviewed.
MELANIE: I can't imagine what you're going through.
KRISTA: ... Yeah, it's a lot.
Krista bursts into tears, and Melanie hugs her.
MELANIE: If you need me, day or night, just call.
Krista admits she's worried she may have lost Leo forever. At this point, Leo emerges from the station, so Melanie heads indoors to pay, to give Krista and Leo a chance to talk. Things are still tense between them as they discuss their respective interviews.
LEO: I didn't tell them about you and Seb - what happened that night.
KRISTA: Yeah, neither did I.
LEO: Well, it's irrelevant. They don't need to know our business.
The conversation is interrupted by Krista's phone ringing - it's Seb's mum, responding to Krista's message to her earlier. Leo says she should take the call. Holding back the tears, Krista walks off to talk to Mrs Metcalfe. Leo looks worried/shifty.
Erinsborough Hospital
Nicolette, Max and Holly have called in to see Sadie, who is still lying on her front and quite uncomfortable from the burns. Max apologises to her, saying it's his fault she's in this situation, not Byron's, and that Byron was in an 'impossible situation' during the fire.
Trying to inject some levity into the fact Byron chose to save Nicolette first, Nic remarks that Byron doesn't even like her! Unsurprisingly, this doesn't appear to make Sadie feel any better about it!
No 24
Leo has come round to see Aaron to talk about his police interview, which he insists wasn't formal, but 'just a chat'. Aaron thinks Leo should have told them about his argument with Seb last night.
LEO: What? 'Hey, Detective, I had an argument with the dead guy right before he died, at the exact same location, and then lied about it'? Yeah (!)
AARON: Look, if Seb was fine when you left him, then you've got nothing to worry about, right?
LEO: If I talk to them about it, it'll become a whole thing. Seb's finally out of my life. I'm not letting him back in.
AARON: What about Fallon? She knows about this too.
LEO: It's not gonna come to that. Please, Az - I hate putting you in this position, but... can you do this for me?
Aaron looks annoyed.
Erinsborough Police Station
Having worked his way through a sandwich during Krista's interview and biscuits during Leo's, Detective Fox now rocks up with Danish pastries and coffees to share with his colleague, Detective Kathleen Kay. She hasn't been able to find anything relevant on the CCTV footage from last night, but does show him footage from earlier today, of Fallon's distraught reaction when Seb's body was pulled from the lake.
KAY: She looks pretty upset.
FOX: Let's hear what she has to say.
They head into the interview room where Fallon is waiting for them...
The Waterhole
Shane is playing pool with Max, who is still moping. Shane assures Max he's not responsible for Sadie getting hurt.
MAX: Yes, I am. And if her and Byron split up, then that's on me, too.
Roxy comes in; she's about to head back to Darwin and wanted to say goodbye. By way of explanation...
ROXY: The fire reminded me how lucky I am. I have a great life back in Darwin, and I need to get back home to my boys.
Of course, she adds, just as soon as she's picked up some tequila! Shane says he's flying home tonight too, and suggests they head to the airport together. Roxy agrees and then wanders off again.
SHANE (to Max): You need to forgive yourself, mate.
The pool game continues, but Max still looks troubled.
No 28
Darcy is with the Kennedys for a cuppa, but Susan gets a call from Harold. Afterwards, she explains to Karl and Darcy that there's been a power outage at Eirini Rising, and she has to go to sort it out. Karl is keen to go with her, but Susan tells him there's no need, and hurries out.
KARL: I suppose I should thank you for staying quiet.
DARCY: I'll keep your secret, Karl.
KARL: Well, I wouldn't say 'secret'. That's a strong word.
DARCY: ...
KARL: Alright, Darcy, what do you want in return?
DARCY: There's no catch, Karl.
KARL: There's *always* a catch... Do you want me to go through my hospital contacts, introduce you to potential investors?
DARCY: Well, yeah - I wouldn't say no to that...
KARL: Yeah.
DARCY: But it's not a condition. I just want you to let me help you.
Karl looks unsure.
Erinsborough Police Station
Fallon is telling Detectives Fox and Kay about her time in Mykonos with Seb, 'before he got bored and left'. She admits to being upset at the time about the breakup, but that she got over it.
FOX: Was Sebastian in town to visit you, or Krista?
FALLON: Krista. I was just here for the wedding.
FOX: And when was the last time you saw Seb?
FALLON: Yesterday afternoon. At the bar. Very briefly.
FOX: And what sort of mood was he in?
FALLON: I dunno. He was drinking. Maybe he scored... Anything else?
FOX: Well, we've just established that he died at 11.03pm, which is when his pulse reader on his watch stopped. So can I just check, where were you last night?
FALLON (shifty): I was at Krista's apartment. Watching a movie with my friend Taye.
Fox notes this down, and tells Fallon they're finished with the interview.
Erinsborough Hospital
Byron comes in with a bunch of flowers for Sadie. She doesn't say anything as he sits down, but Byron thanks her for letting him come.
BYRON (guiltily): Look, I wanted to protect you... I'm so sorry you're suffering like this, I... I wish... I wish I could've saved you both. And I tried, I swear - I was... I was coming back for you.
SADIE (upset): I didn't know that. I watched you leave me. Everything you're saying is making sense. But what I know and what I feel... are different things. I can't be around you. And I can't tell you that we're okay. *I'm* not okay. I need time apart.
Sadie turns away from him. Byron looks gutted.
702 Eclipse Apartments
Outside in the corridor, Fallon is on the phone leaving an urgent voicemail for someone. She asks them to call her; she needs to know they got her message.
When she enters the apartment, Fallon finds Krista kneeling on the floor, gazing sadly at the dress of Fallon's that she spilled wine on, which is just back from the dry cleaner's.
KRISTA: It all seems like so long ago now.
Fallon tells Krista about her police interview, explaining that she kept their personal issues out of it. Krista says she and Leo did the same, and thanks her. Fallon says she's booked into the hotel for a few nights and is then going to go and visit their mum in Italy.
KRISTA (absently): Good.
The Waterhole
Roxy is playing pool with Max and Shane, while Nicolette, Holly and Byron watch. Melanie has left some kind of gift for Byron and Nicolette on the table, but it isn't clear what.
BYRON: She's got a big heart.
NICOLETTE: No, I'm annoyed. Cos I was quite looking forward to the idea of having an evil stepmother, but now I'm gonna have to let that go, cos this is actually super sweet.
Roxy reveals she's got her own parting gift from step- uncle Paul - a bottle of 30- year- old scotch.
ROXY: He doesn't know he gave it to me.
Meanwhile, Shane has some news for Max - Uncle Tom Ramsay is sending some documents down by courier that he wants Max to pass on to Harold when they arrive, pertaining to the 'Madge- Agnes lookalike mystery'. He also tells Max that as soon as the insurance comes through for the garage, he'll get it rebuilt and Max can go back to work.
SHANE: Everything's replaceable. Except for you.
MAX: Yeah, I know.
SHANE: I hope so. Because the next time that you're in trouble, I expect you to reach out.
MAX: I can take care of myself.
SHANE: No one's saying you can't. And asking for help doesn't make you any less capable. It just makes you smarter.
No 28
Darcy has a laptop out and has formulated a plan to help wean Karl off the painkiller dependency, while also managing the pain. Karl admits that what Darcy's suggesting makes sense.
DARCY: I really am here to do good. This is something I can do to prove it.
KARL: Yeah, alright - yes. Let's give it a go.
DARCY: Good man.
Erinsborough Police Station
Detective Kay has had the autopsy and toxicology results from Seb's body, and shares the findings with Detective Fox. They confirm that Seb sustained a bash on the head from a blunt object before hitting the water. There was a fair amount of alcohol in his system, but no drugs - so he wasn't as out- of- it as they were expecting.
What's more, Detective Kay has acquired dash cam footage of a car leaving the car park, and shows Fox some photos from it. We don't see the photos, but...
FOX: Let's bring him in.
Lassiter's Complex
Fallon has met up with Taye, and thanks him. It transpires that Taye was the person Fallon was trying to get hold of earlier, and that she's asked him (via text) to lie and confirm that they were watching a film together at the apartment at the time Seb was killed - a falsehood that Taye has apparently already relayed to the police. Fallon tells Taye she needed an alibi because she was alone last night.
TAYE: You didn't have anything to do with Seb's death, did you?
FALLON: Of course not. But what if the police find out what happened between all of us? It won't look good.
TAYE: Yeah, well, it's really weird that you're all coming up with cover stories.
FALLON: We just want this horrible time to end (...) Seb did terrible things. I egged him on. I was the one who encouraged him to go after Krista. What does that make me?
TAYE: Someone who's stuffed up monumentally... and is trying to fix it.
Nearby, Aaron is heading towards the pub when he is recognised by Detective Fox, who asks if he could accompany him to the police station. Aaron reluctantly agrees...
Erinsborough Police Station
It transpires that Aaron is the person pictured in the photos from the dash cam, jogging by the lake last night; Aaron explains that he often jogs at night as he has trouble sleeping otherwise.
FOX: Did you see Sebastian Metcalfe while you were out?
AARON: ...
FOX: This footage was taken at around 11pm last night. Now, we know for a fact that Sebastian was at the lake at that time.
AARON: I just... I just went for a jog, that's all.
FOX: That's not the question. Did you see Sebastian?
AARON: (sighs and nods)
FOX: Did you see anyone else?
AARON: ...
FOX: You know what I like about coming from the city to these smaller precincts? Everyone knows everyone else. It's amazing, really. I mean, I show your picture to my colleagues here, and within ten minutes, I find out that you're a decent, honest guy. Just tell us what you know.
Aaron looks shifty.
Lassiter's Complex
Melanie is preparing to head home to Gippsland and Vic. Holly warns her that Karl has started following Vic's pub on social media, and is planning to pitch himself as an entertainment act!
MELANIE: Tell him that we couldn't possibly afford his services?
HOLLY: You mean, you can't afford to lose the punters that he'll scare off?
Melanie does her seal- laugh; Krista shows up and says she's going to miss hearing it. Mel says she'll miss Krista, and gives her a hug. Leo has shown up too. Krista tells Mel that she's going to talk to Paul about Lassiter's buying the Drinks Divas van from Mel, who is thrilled to hear this.
Nicolette and Byron turn up. It transpires that Nicolette has decided to head to Gippsland too, to stay with Vic for a while; Byron is driving her there, and they offer Melanie a lift. Mel agrees, and hugs Leo and Krista again, promising to see them soon. As Mel walks away with Nic and Byron she blows Krista a kiss, which makes Krista emotional all over again.
Aaron turns up, and tells Leo...
AARON: I am so sorry. I wasn't gonna say anything, but they have footage of me here last night, and... I didn't know what else to say.
Detectives Fox and Kay appear behind him.
FOX: Leo Tanaka... you're coming back to the station with us.
LEO: Why? I said everything I had to say.
FOX: Except the truth. And we take lying very seriously. Especially in a murder investigation.
KRISTA: What... what do you mean?
FOX (to Leo): We believe Sebastian Metcalfe was murdered. And you're our prime suspect.
