JJ suggests to Nell and Dex that they could take the tablet to a screen repair place, but Dex says it's the tablet itself that is damaged. Nell sends JJ to find a cable so they can try to retrieve the data via her laptop. Dex asks if Nell has cloud backup, but she explains she ran out of storage. Terese comes in and Nell explains that JJ smashed the tablet; Terese is sure it was just an accident.
JJ: Yeah, it was. Nell, I'm so sorry. I'd never do anything to upset you.
But Nell is too panicked over the loss of her files to try and make him feel better. Terese suggests that she can ask her IT guys to recover the files, and Nell can borrow her tablet in the meantime - but the project is due in the morning, there's no time to redo it.
DEX: There's a dude from my course who's really good at restoring data. Maybe he can help us?
Terese and Dex try to reassure Nell, while JJ looks guilty.

Leo is on the phone to Aaron. Once he's finished, he tells Krista that Aaron is happy with sticking to the original wedding plan and being his best man again; and Leo thinks having Aaron by his side will be a nice tribute to David. Krista agrees.
Fallon comes in, and Krista wants to talk to her about the 'hucks' night - for the uninitiated, this is a cross between a hens and a bucks night, and they want to have it at the Waterhole tomorrow. Fallon does an attempt at looking interested but then disappears straight into her room. Krista is nonplussed. Leo and Krista agree on a double denim theme for the hucks night, at which point Fallon re- emerges.
FALLON: Actually, I'm gonna go out for a while (...) I wanna check out the city, be a tourist for the afternoon.
KRISTA: Okay. Give me a minute, I'll come with you.
FALLON: I've already called an Uber. I've got to go now. The party sounds fun.
Krista looks a bit disappointed as Fallon leaves, but they get back to discussing the hucks. Krista thinks denim is 'not a Sinclair staple', but is pretty sure she can look good in it.
LEO (kissing her): And out of it?
Lassiter's Lake
Byron is helping Andrew set up for his self- defence course by putting out some mats by the lake; Byron says it's good to feel useful after everything that's happened, and it's clear both still feel quite affected by Sadie's kidnap. Andrew admits he's wanted to run self- defence classes for ages; and Byron think it's a good practical move, which he's sure Sadie will really appreciate.
Andrew asks Byron if he's brought anything else to wear. Byron admits he thought the self- defence class was just for the girls, but Andrew says it's for anyone who wants to feel safer knowing they can handle themselves in a dangerous situation. Byron agrees to go home and grab a change of clothes.

JJ, Dex and Nell are sitting around looking worried, while waiting to hear from Dex's course friend. Terese has summoned Jane over, to ask if Nell can have an extension for her project in light of the tech issues. But Jane says that won't be possible; she can't be seen to give preferential treatment to a student just because they're a neighbour, and especially not just after her recent suspension!
Jane leaves, but at that point Dex strikes gold - he has managed to restore the temporary files from two days ago. Which means he's recovered Nell's work, but it's still in black and white. Nell decides she'd better get colouring. (Didn't they decide to have it in black and white anyway in the last episode?) Dex offers to get his own tablet and lend a hand. Nell says she'd love that.
JJ: Guys, this is great. What can I do to help?
NELL (still annoyed): Umm... maybe just leave us to it?
JJ looks hurt.

Sebastian is sitting by a bench by a river somewhere in Melbourne. Fallon turns up to meet him.
FALLON: You look different.
SEB: Yeah, the wonders of rehab. You don't approve?
FALLON (cheerfully): I'm just savouring the moment. I was so mad the last time I saw you, and... now I'm not. I actually don't feel anything for you.
SEB: Good for you.
FALLON: I'm not the same person I was when I proposed. I don't even know who that girl was.
SEB: That's... that's really great, Fallon. I want you to be okay. I really am sorry for the way that I treated you.
FALLON: If that's your attempt at making amends with me... I suppose it'll do.
She puts a hand on his shoulder. Seb smiles and pauses before moving the conversation on.
SEB: So Krista got my letter?
FALLON: Yeah.
SEB: And you haven't told her anything about us, right?
FALLON: No. She can't know. Does that work for you?
SEB: (nods) So what's been happening?
Lassiter's Lake
Andrew is leading the self- defence class, with attendees including Sadie, Byron, Holly and extras. He explains that some sensitive areas are small and hard to hit (which makes Holly snigger!)
ANDREW: So instead of going for the groin, for example, it's smart to go for something with a larger surface area, like the shins.
Andrew asks for a volunteer to come and give it a go. He looks at Sadie but she's not keen. Holly eventually volunteers, and Andrew explains he'll grab her by the neck and she needs to respond by going for the sensitive areas. (He's wearing shinpads for protection.) Holly not only kicks him in the shins, but manages to fling him into the mat too! Everyone is impressed and claps.
ANDREW: That was perfect. And seriously impressive! Well done.
Riverside
Seb and Fallon are now walking along the river. Fallon has told Seb that Krista didn't tell Leo about the kiss initially, but held onto it for weeks, which Seb thinks is 'interesting'.
FALLON: Do you really think there's a chance for you and Krista?
SEB: Yes, that kiss meant something. It's the real reason that she freaked.
FALLON: Probably why she didn't let Leo read the letter.
SEB: Put a few truth bombs in there.
FALLON: They're so mismatched, it's not even funny.
SEB: The guy's a total tool.
FALLON: He's amazing. He's one of the sweetest people I've ever met.
SEB: (scoffs)
FALLON: He's a great dad, too (...) He's a cool guy. And I don't want what happened to us to happen to them.
SEB: Alright, whatever. Look, I just... I just want another chance with Krista.
FALLON: You might have one, if you keep it together.
SEB: I just have to prove to her that I've changed. But I don't know how receptive she's gonna be to that.
FALLON (smiling): Leave that part to me.

Krista is flicking through a magazine when she gets a message from Seb. He says he's back in Melbourne and 'in a really good place', and asks if he can see her. Krista looks conflicted.
Lassiter's Lake
The self- defence class continues, and participants are working in groups with training pads. Holly has got a little overexcited and is now instructing Sadie on how to floor Byron!
HOLLY: Just channel all your anger, and your rage, and your sadness, and your fury...
SADIE: Yeah, yeah, I get it.
HOLLY: Then just drop him already! ... No offence, By.
But Byron agrees, encouraging Sadie to give it a try. However at that moment, he gets a call on his phone. It's Lana Kline from the education department. Sadie uses the fact Byron's distracted to send him crashing to the mat!
HOLLY: Yas, queen!
SADIE: Are you okay? Did I hurt you?
BYRON: I'm good. That was good.
Byron explains who Lana is and that she's just checking in following Jane's review. Sadie suggests that a self- defence class would be a good time to turn his phone off.
HOLLY: Especially when you're teamed up with two lethal weapons like us.

It's late, and Nell and Dex are still working on the graphic novel. Nell thanks Dex for all his help, saying she couldn't have done it without him. Dex explains he finished his own project, a short film, a week ago.
NELL: Hmm, it pays to make friends with the teacher's pet!
Terese comes in and makes a brief pretence of taking away their energy drinks as she's not keen on them guzzling them, but relents, with Nell arguing that it's an exceptional circumstance. JJ turns up at the door with a pizza for them and even more energy drinks. Terese says that's very thoughtful.
JJ: Well, I know I'm not allowed to help with the project, so...
NELL (brusquely): No, you can't. Dex and I have got it covered.
JJ puts the supplies on the table, and gets a 'thanks' from Dex but absolutely nothing from Nell. Getting the message that he's not wanted, he leaves again.

Taye is playing a video game when JJ comes home looking forlorn. JJ takes the other controller and sits down, but it's obvious he wants to talk rather than play.
JJ (sadly): Nell's mad at me. It's kind of, like... kind of, like, our first fight.
TAYE (laughing): Okay...
JJ: What?
TAYE: I dunno, bro. When I was your age, I would've moved on if a girl made me feel like this. Still would, to be fair.
JJ: No, I don't want to move on from Nell. It's just like... everything I do to try and fix things, I end up making things worse. And then everything Dex does is just perfect.
TAYE (smiling): So this is about Dex.
JJ: No.
Taye looks at him incredulously.
JJ: I mean, yeah, a little bit. It's just, like, Nell and I always get each other, you know? And now it really sucks that all of a sudden we don't. I dunno - do you have any advice? You know girls, don't you?
TAYE (laughs): I mean, I thought I did. I'm dealing with one at the moment - just a friend. She's telling me all her stuff - it's wild, man.
JJ: So what advice are you giving?
TAYE: None that's working, so don't listen to me. Hey, uh, try your mums.
JJ: Thanks (!)
They get back to the video game.
Lassiter's Complex
Krista is sitting on a bench looking pensive. Fallon watches her from a distance, then comes over to sit with her.
KRISTA: Seb messaged me. He's here, and he wants to catch up.
FALLON (feigned): He's out of rehab?
KRISTA: Yeah. I guess it's not a surprise, I've kind of been expecting it. But I don't know how to handle it with Leo.
FALLON: Seb's your friend.
KRISTA: Yeah. I do hate how things ended between us. I mean, the kiss was really awkward but I still care about him.
FALLON: Then you should see him.
KRISTA: That's gonna make Leo really uncomfortable, and I get that.
FALLON: Didn't Leo say he'd trust your decisions from now on? Then surely he'll trust you on this. Seb's important to you. You have every right to see him.
At this point Leo arrives home from the vineyard, and asks them if everything's okay.
KRISTA: We need to talk.
Harold's Café
At the counter, Holly is sniffing some snickerdoodles (!) and remarks to Sadie that Max isn't here to 'drool over them'. Sadie admits that the house feels empty without Max. They're both hoping he's okay, and decide to take a selfie and send it to him with a 'wish you were here' message.
Andrew comes in and congratulates them on a great job at the self- defence class. They both feel they got something out of it, and Holly says she could have used one of the moves during the Waterhole siege, as that was how Justin Ashton grabbed her. Andrew says if that has brought stuff up for her, then he's happy to listen, though suggests Holly might also want to talk to Felix about it.
HOLLY: Thanks. But I actually feel okay. It's the first time in ages that I've felt like I can handle myself when life throws danger at me. Which is pretty often, when you think about it.
Sadie giggles at this. Andrew tells them he's thinking of running classes regularly, and the girls seem keen to keep participating.
Lassiter's Complex
Leo and Krista are chatting on a bench. Leo makes it clear he doesn't want Krista to see Seb. Krista suggests all three of them could catch up, but Leo says he doesn't want to sit at a table with the guy!
KRISTA: Okay, well, what do I do? Look, I am trying to see it from your point of view, but can you see it from mine?
LEO: He kissed you, Krista.
KRISTA: Yeah, and I shut that down immediately.
LEO: What, you don't think he's gonna try and make another pass at you?
KRISTA: Well, I'm not interested! Look, I *am* interested in seeing how he's doing. Sounds like rehab's really done wonders for him. It did for me.
LEO: ...
KRISTA: I am gonna have to see him at some point.
LEO: Only if you want to.
KRISTA: When I had no one, Seb was really there for me. So, yeah... I still want him to be a part of my life. But you are more important to me. I hope you know that. I hope that you can trust me.
LEO: Let's just talk about it in the morning, okay?
Krista agrees, and rests her head on Leo's shoulder. Fallon watches them from a distance.
Erinsborough High School
Jane is in the corridor. She finds a WB Yeats poetry book on the floor, and looks at it wistfully; perhaps it's reminding her of Clint.
Nell and Dex come round the corner. Jane tells Nell she's very impressed that she managed to hand in her assignment. Nell says it was a team effort, and glances backwards at a yawning Dex. Jane tells them to get some rest tonight and that in the meantime she expects their best efforts in the classroom. Once she's gone...
DEX: She does not let up.
Nell gives Dex a hug...
NELL: You saved my life last night.
DEX: Don't mention it.
... just as JJ turns up to see it from the end of the corridor. He looks upset, and walks on his way without making his presence known.

Fallon is alone when Leo comes round; Krista has gone for a jog. Leo asks if Fallon has heard that Seb's back in town, and she confirms she has.
LEO: I get why she wants to see him, and I want to trust her. But she lied to me about the kiss, so...
FALLON: Are you worried she's lying about something else?
LEO: No, I'm more worried about Seb's motives (...) I hate that I'm feeling like this. And I hate that he's coming between our relationship again. But it's two weeks before the wedding. I need to know where I stand.
FALLON: ... There is one way to find out. The letter.
LEO: Seb's letter?
FALLON: I know where it is.
LEO: No. No, I can't betray Krista like that. She said it's personal, and it's part of his rehab programme.
FALLON: I keep seeing her reading it, over and over.
LEO: Really?
FALLON: She can't get Seb out of her head. Maybe the letter's the key to it all... I shouldn't have said anything.
Leo goes quiet for a while, his mind racing, then asks...
LEO: Where does she keep it?
Erinsborough High School
Nell is in the corridor when JJ comes to find her - he's bought her an energy- boosting smoothie from the canteen to help get her through the day after her long night of project work. He rambles nervously until Nell thanks him.
NELL: That's really sweet.
JJ: Yeah, I'm... I'm just here to help.
NELL: Well, do you think you could find a way to clone me, so I could take a nap instead of going to double maths?
JJ (laughs): Well, you might actually be better off with Dex and his coding mates for that. But... you know, I'd give it a shot for you.
NELL: ... I'm really sorry for being so snappy. It's just, I put so much work into the novel, and seeing it all disappear was like... a nightmare.
JJ: No, no, I get it. I knew how much that mattered to you, and I should've just left you to it, you know? I was being selfish.
NELL: I love that the first thing you wanted to do post- grounding was hang out with me.
JJ: It was just kind of hard seeing you and Dex clicking over something that I don't understand.
Nell shows JJ a series of three Venn diagrams in her notebook, telling him it's the only bit of math her brain can pull off today. The top one shows two circles that almost fully overlap.
NELL: If we had everything in common, well, this would be so boring.
The second diagram shows two circles that don't even touch.
NELL: And if we had nothing in common - well, we wouldn't even be having this conversation.
The third diagram shows two circles that overlap more modestly.
NELL: We have lots of things that we share, and lots of things that are ours away from each other. And that's what makes us so good.
JJ (smiling): I think that's the geekiest and best thing anyone's ever said to me before. So we're okay?
NELL: We're great.
JJ: Okay.
They kiss, all loved up again.
Lassiter's Complex
Outside the Piano Bar, Fallon has come to give Taye an update on her scheming.
TAYE: I can't believe you did that.
FALLON: Leo deserves to know the truth.
TAYE: Isn't the letter just Seb's version of it?
FALLON: If that's all it is, then Krista should be fine with Leo knowing. But she's not.
The pair of them look up to see Leo storming out of the hotel, looking absolutely furious. Evidently, he's read the letter and is deeply unhappy with its contents. He heads over to talk to Krista who has just entered the courtyard.
LEO: Why does Seb think you have a future together if the kiss wasn't one- sided?
KRISTA: Okay, umm... either you've seen him, or you've read the letter, and I really hope it's not the latter.
LEO: And everything he wrote? It was way worse than what you told me!
KRISTA (shouting): Oh my god!
LEO: How can you want him in your life? In our life?!
Upset, Krista runs off indoors. Leo shouts after her, then follows her in. Taye watches all this with surprise, and then notices Fallon smirking. He shakes his head at her in disbelief.
