Eirini Rising
Terese is very impressed at the efficiency Roxy is doing the jobs tasked to her. Roxy is more than happy to cover things while Terese heads out after getting a text message from Jane regarding Clint.
When Terese heads off, Roxy calls the supplier to bring forward their delivery of letterheaded paper, but instead of the 20 boxes that should be getting delivered, she changes it to 200 boxes!
Number 30
Remi is suss, but very grateful, when Cara delivers her a pressie (supplies to do a DIY pampering at home).
Lassiters Complex
Jane leaves the police station and walks towards the welcoming committee (Terese, Byron, Nicolette, Aaron and Byron) who immediately dish out the sympathies. She is firmly told by them that it isn't her fault, it was down to Clint, however Jane is fearful that because she trusted Clint, she could lose everything.
Eirini Rising
News is out about Clint at the retirement village and Vera seems to be taking the news quite hard, enough that Terese asks if she is okay and he
VERA: Yeah, it's just men… they're so disappointing! You'd think I'd have learnt my lesson by now.
Roxy gets what Vera is saying and her demeanour soon picks up because she's looking forward to the magic show Susan organised, that is happening that afternoon. Terese hopes that the show will live up to Vera's expectations or they will hear about it forever!
Harolds café
Nicolette heads over to chat with Remi/Cara when she enters the café and they ask to pass their support onto Jane for her meeting with the department. Remi asks how Jane is holding up and Nicolette updates them about Clint, which compounds the sympathies from Remi.
When Remi steps away to take a call, it allows Nicolette/Cara to talk about Chelsea. Cara knows calling off the search for Chelsea is the right thing to do on all fronts.
Number 24
Nicolette arrives home to find Maddy waiting for her - she used the instructions on where to find the spare key to let herself in. "Who knew sneaking around would be so much fun," Maddy remarks before all thought of food and wine goes out the window to allow for other activities!!!
Erinsborough High School
Jane thanks Curtis for holding the fort due to her suspension, but he knows she is the "real leader" and that the school wants her back, certain that Lana will see that too! Byron is confident that the department doesn't have enough evidence to kick Jane out of her job.
The Waterhole
Curtis has joined his aunt in the bar along with the other [random] residents from Eirini for the magic show to begin. "The great Magnus Johnson" appears to great applause and begins his routine with asking if they want to play a game of "guess this shape?" "Bring it on love," Vera yells out and well the audience needs to use their imagination over what the shape is or where it is located… given we only just see the back of the de- robed Magnus Johnson and hear the huge intake of breath from those seeing the front of him!
ROXY: Uh, plot twist! I guess we know why he's called Johnson.
Terese and Roxy are in a quandary over what to do but Vera is more than happy with the front row seat she has, despite Curtis tyring to cover her eyes up.
Number 24
After their 'afternoon delight' Maddy and Nicolette are hanging out in the kitchen when someone knocks on the door - its Cara and Remi! Cue Maddy being shoved back into the bedroom so that Nicolette can let the guests in, and who are surprised to see Nicolette in her nightwear. Nicolette lies and says she is unwell and so they give her what they came over with - a pick- me- up for Jane.
Unlike Remi, Cara manages to have a look around the house and from the evidence, can see Nicolette is lying about being unwell but doesn't give the game away before exiting the house with her wife.
Erinsborough High School
Lana leads a panel of 4 at the meeting to decide Jane's future. While Jane does gets points for discovering [and reporting] Clint for stealing, the fact she failed to declare her relationship with Clint and let him keep stealing is being held against her.
Jane is about to defend herself when Byron interrupts to tell the panel that he's found 32 similar cases where nobody has been dismissed for a non- disclosure after such a short period of time of being in a relationship. He also cites, while handing over paperwork, that someone wasn't dismissed after being with their colleague for a year.
Lana brings up the Clint stealing and Byron is quick to respond that Jane knew nothing about that and given it was Jane who reported him, indicates that she can be trusted. Next, she brings up Jane's judgement of character, and again Byron is quick to come back and ask where in the employee guidelines is guidance for how "to read minds" before adding that there are many in the community who will vouch for Jane, which Lana acknowledges. Byron then brings up that the only time someone has been dismissed for a workplace relationship is when they used a position of power against a more vulnerable individual, something that Jane did not do.
BYRON: On legal grounds alone, she should be reinstated today.
Jane doesn't have anything to add to what Byron has said and looks proud on the defence he's provided for her. Even Lana looks impressed at his efficiency and the pair are asked to leave the room to allow the panel to confer.
Number 24
After what she saw earlier, Cara comes back to #24 and catches Maddy in the house [she was finishing dressing before leaving]. Nicolette cites that they were "being discreet" and Maddy wants to know what Cara's problem is and why she needs to stay away from Nicolette. Cara asks the if it was unreasonable in asking them not to make things messier or more complicated and when the reply comes back as "no" she then comments that they obviously don't "give a damn." "Thanks guys," she sarcastically says before exiting the house.
Eirini Rising
As they walk back to their office, Terese can't believe that Susan organised a "genital contortionist" to entertain the residents with. This stuff up seems to be going into Roxy's column for 'getting Susan out' and the pair are then rendered speechless when they turn the corner to go into the office and find it full of boxes… 200 boxes of letterheads! Terese can't believe Susan would order so many and Roxy jokes that instead of sending emails they will be swapping to "pigeon post!" Roxy orders Terese to go get a cuppa while she deals with the problem.
Number 24
Maddy can't see what the fuss is about her seeing Nicolette, they are consenting adults after all and it isn't their fault that Cara has been lying to Remi about hunting Chelsea down. Nicolette feels guilty for getting "distracted by a good time" while doing Cara a favour but this behaviour from Cara is nothing new for Maddy, and is confident that she will cool down. Maddy's stance isn't convincing Nicolette though, she's fearful about losing a friend especially given she finds it hard to make friends in the first place.
MADDY: Hey, at least you got yourself a hot consolation prize… right?!
NICOLETTE: I need to fix this. You should go.
Erinsborough High School
Jane and Byron return back to hear the panel's judgment.
LANA: Jane, considering all the facts, your remorse, and your part in bringing Clint to justice, we've decided to let you off with a warning.
As soon as those last few words are out, both Jane and Byron breath a huge sigh of relief! "We hope you learn from this," Lana says before adding that "it would be detriment to Erinsborough High to lose you as Principal."
After saying thank you to the panel, it's a hug and a thank you to Byron before the pair exit the room.
(Later)
Outside in the corridor, Curtis is more than happy to hand back the reigns of the school to Jane! While the pair discuss how to celebrate this news, Lana holds Byron back to say she was impressed with what he did for his mum and would like to have a chat.
Eirini Rising
Roxy is on the phone to the suppliers and is firmly blaming Susan for the mis- ordering. She ends the call just as Terese arrives back from her cuppa and explains that she's found somewhere for the boxes to be stored as they couldn't be returned however has managed to get them discount for a bulk order and a loyalty discount for future orders.
TERESE: Roxy Canning, you've saved the say once again, I owe you one… or several!
And part of the payback is giving Roxy some time off to head back to Darwin for a few days. The pair are interrupted by Vera who thoroughly enjoyed the 'magic' show, very happy at the mistake Susan made when she hears how they ended up with Magnus Johnson.
Terese is a bit perplexed with the number of mistakes Susan is making since she is usually so on the ball, and even Vera is questioning if Susan has "got one foot out of the door?"
The Waterhole (exterior)
Its wine all round as Byron and Aaron help Jane celebrate her victory over the department. She is very grateful for everyone being in her corner, especially Byron's help in keeping her job. Byron is more than happy to help his mum and while he heads off to get some water, Aaron apologises for his role in introducing Clint into her life. He then gets Jane to open up over how she truly feels.
JANE: I thought it was gonna be different. I thought Clint was… and now look at me, I'm alone and… and… and humiliated. And do you know the worst part? I really liked him. It just breaks my heart that he wasn't who I thought he was.
Number 30
With the coast clear, Nicolette apologises to Cara for not listening to her over seeing Maddy. Cara is very peeved at Nicolette going behind her back and seeing Maddy. Nicolette opens up to Cara over how getting to know her recently "has been amazing" and had hoped she'd turned around their impression of her.
NICOLETTE: I really like you Cara.
However this has been said with bad timing as Remi has just walked in the door and heard that last part, and naturally wants to know what is going on!
Coming up on Neighbours
- Krista in a quandary over asking Fallon to be her bridesmaid.
- Nell impressing Dex.
- Cara needing to talk to Remi… without Nicolette being there!
