SADIE: I'm going to pretend that you didn't just say that.
MAX: But...I did. Sadie, it's obvious that we vibe, so rather than pretend nothing's happening, why not just, like, talk about it.
SADIE: Because there's nothing to talk about!
MAX: You didn't deny that we vibe, though.
SADIE: Our vibe is friends. I'm with Byron.
MAX: OK.

He laughs and Sadie walks off.

Waterhole
Byron and Krista are talking about tracking down Seb's dealer. He asks if Leo is going to help them and Krista tells him that Leo isn't going to be involved.

It's Nell's birthday. Terese has given her ink markers for drawing manga.

Hugo, Susan and Toadie come in and wish Nell a happy birthday. Toadie and Terese greet each other a little awkwardly.

TOADIE: Nell, is that you? You look so much older all of a sudden. What happened?
NELL:(rolls her eyes) Yeah, good one, dad!

Toadie gives her presents from family which she decides to open later, because Terese has cooked! She's cooked them breakfast.

TERESE: Dine at your own risk, obviously.

Susan heads off at the rest sit down rather awkwardly.

Max skulks into the kitchen where Byron and Sadie are washing up. He's clearly worried that Sadie has told Byron about their conversation, but she clearly hasn't.

When Byron has gone, Sadie quickly exits too so that she doesn't have to talk to Max.

JJ is wrapping Nell's present and Cara snaps at him. Remi looks concerned about her but Cara says she's fine. JJ has bought Nell a necklce with J and N on it. Cara raises an eyebrow.

REMI: Now might be a good time to bring up something we've been meaning to talk to you about.
DEX: I'm guessing it's either about gift- wrapping hacks or sex(!)
REMI: Yes. Topic of the hour is consent.
JJ: Right, that thing we've been talking about for years now...
CARA: That thing that needs to be an ongoing conversation, JJ.
JJ: Yeah, I am happy to talk.
DEX: Just no puppets this time, please(!)
REMI: I know we've talked about it a lot, and you talk about it at school too, but now that Nell is living back on the street, we just want to...check in.
JJ: Right, uh, well...Nell and I definitely aren't ready for...you know...but we do talk about stuff and check each other's boundaries. I mean, we do take this stuff seriously.
REMI: We just want to make sure that you have explicit, enthusiastic consent at top of mind.
JJ: Yeah, we're a good team.
CARA: Good.

He heads off to continue sorting out Nell's present.

CARA: At least he didn't get her an engagement ring(!)
REMI: I think he's saving that for Christmas!

Breakfast is done and Toadie and Terese are setting up for Nell's party (she's 16). Terese is finding it a bit weird because Toadie is there.

TERESE: We'll get through the discomfort. For Nell, it's Nell's home. And her dad is welcome here any time.
TOADIE: I appreciate you saying that, thank you. I mean, it is going to get easier the more we do this, right?
TERESE: Yes, absolutely.

Harold's Cafe
Leo comes along and offers to help Krista and Byron to find Seb. She tells him he's not welcome and drags Byron off.

Sonya's mural
It's raining as Nell and JJ stand in front of Sonya's mural.

NELL: Yet another reason I'm glad to be home. I always visit on my birthday.
JJ: I really wish I could have known your mum. Want to tell me more about her?
NELL: Did I tell you she was super in to kaftans? Full, hippy, floaty style. And when she met my dad, she was a guide dog trainer.
JJ: Really?
NELL: Mm- hmm. She loved animals and plants. Nature in general, I guess. She had her issues, too, though. But she worked really hard to change. Even though sometimes they were tough. I think that's why she always tried to see the best in people and give anyone a second change. She was all about helping people. She even got elected Mayor of Erinsborough.
JJ: Wow!
NELL: She said her goal in life was to leave the world a better place, and I believe she did that.

JJ asks if he can give Nell her birthday present. They sit down on a bench and he presents her with a necklace with "J" and "N" on it. She loves it, and asks him to put it on her.

NELL: I'm never taking this off.

They kiss.

Krista and Byron are still looking for leads on Seb. He tries to reason with her about Seb - maybe Leo finds Seb threatening. Krista insists that she and Seb are just friends.

Just then, Byron gets a call with a lead on Seb's dealer.

Susan arrives with some home- made sausage rolls, much to Toadie's joy.

Susan asks Terese quietly if things feel a bit odd and she admits it's quite strange to have all three of Toadie, Nell and Hugo there - like it used to be.

Harold's Cafe
Max asks Sadie why she didn't tell Byron about their conversation. She says Byron would throw him out of the house. Max looks pleased(!)

Power Road
Krista and Byron pay a dodgy looking woman for info about Seb. She says she doesn't know him, but she clearly does.

KRISTA: I know that you're a drug dealer. And I know that Seb was buying. Look, I'm not a stranger to this. I've scored from people like you before, and I know that there's a code - you don't talk. But Seb's like a brother to me and I'm worried. I'm scared that something really bad has happened to him.

The girl allows that she might have seen him around, but she doesn't know where he is.

When they've left, the girl privately gets on the phone to Seb(!)

The Varga- Murphys have arrives. Cara is still snapping at the kids. Remi tries to reason with her but she just continues to strop.

Jasmine is telling Nell about Lights Up.

Nell tells Toadie that she wants to do a speech.

NELL: Hi everyone, thank you all so much for coming. I'm so glad you're here. Just like I'm glad *I'm* here. Big thanks to Terese and not just for hosting my party...but for letting me live with her. I get to go back to school, see my friends, hang out with my boyfriend whenever I want. The absolutely best thing about being back. Even though I'm so excited to be here, I'm still going to miss my annoying little brother.
HUGO: Wait, you have another little brother?!
NELL: And my daggy Dad.
TOADIE: What, you have another Dad?!
NELL: So there's going to be lots of trips back and forth to Colac. Thank you for showing me that this can work. I love that we're all getting along. And, um, finally, I'd like to acknowledge my Mum, who I miss every single day. But especially on days like this. So, now that I'm back, I've decided I want to be part of the Sonya Rebecchi Foundation, to work for the community and try to leave the world a better place. Just like Mum did.

They all clap.

NELL: So thank you all again, and let's all eat some cake!

Toadie hugs her, and Terese lights her candle.

Nell makes a wish and blows the candle out. They all clap again.

Krista's flat
Leo is trying to apologise to Krista - he just wanted some distance for Seb in case he dragged Krista down - he was just trying to protect her.

LEO: I've learnt my lesson, OK? I'm sorry. Do you think we can move part this?

He presents her with some cake and she starts to thaw a bit.

Just then, she gets a text message from Seb himself!

KRISTA: Hey, I'm on a burner phone so I can't be traced, but I'm alive and well for now. In order to stay that way, I need $35,000, can you please transfer, I'm in real trouble, Krusty.

Krista says she'll do it - but Leo urges caution. It might not even be Seb. She's convinced it is though.

LEO: Look, it's a random number and the timing is really sus.
KRISTA: Leo, you're supposed to be supporting me.
LEO: That's what I'm trying to do. Can you please just wait until the morning? I don't want you doing anything you might regret.

Sadie suggests to Byron that they go out for a movie and dinner tonight. Byron invites Max to join them and he says yes(!) Sadie tells Max firmly that it's a date for her and Byron only.

Harold's Cafe
Krista is looking at text messages purporting to be from Seb, begging her for money. Byron and Sadie come in - they are talking about Max and Byron promises to be more friendly towards him(!)

Krista calls Byron over and tells him what's happened with Seb's texts. She wants to send the money.

Krista thinks about it some more and then texts Seb for transfer details.

Nell's party is still going on. Nell and Toadie talk about her joining the Sonya Rebecchi Foundation.

TOADIE: What you said about following in your mum's footsteps...I'm so proud of you. I know that your Mum would just be bursting with pride too.

Terese comes over and Toadie says he's going to call the manager of the Sonya Rebecchi Foundation about a possible role for her.

However, Toadie has just got an email - the Council have decided not the renew the lease for the Foundation.

TOADIE: If we can't change their minds, then the Foundation, your Mum's legacy...it's gone.

Coming up on Neighbours

- Terese tells Paul that closing the Foundation will break Nell's heart. He tells her they're not giving up yet.
