- Awkwardness between Kiri and Chloe.
- Kiri inviting Nicolette to accompany her to church.
- Freya being given an option to help David... and payback starts immediately!
- Toadie bemused at Byron already asking for time off from his new job.
- Mackenzie attending a grief therapy session.
- Mackenzie upset and throwing her dad out of Hendrix's room.
"I'm sorry I yelled," Mackenzie says to her dad when she comes out into the livingroom and sees him waiting. She wants to bury her head in the sand about it but her dad can see she's struggling and wants to talk about it. "Why don't you explain what normal looks like," she demands after he said it wasn't 'normal' to coup herself up like she's been doing. Rather than reply exactly, he admits he's concerned over how she is dealing with her grief.
MACKENZIE: I don't need to explain myself to you.
Chloe is chatting with Levi while he waits for Freya to come home from seeing her lawyer (along with Aaron).
Freya eventually arrives home and keeps up the pretence over where she was at but refuses to say more when Levi asks. She confirm to Chloe that Aaron is home (so she can be discharged of babysitting duties) and adds that Kiri has gone to church - that is news to Chloe and she doesn't seem too happy about it either.
Kiri gives Nicolette an out if she doesn't want to go back with her to church, but Nicolette has enjoyed it, so is happy to go back.
While she waits for Clive, Jane hands over the video equipment to Sadie (for an assignment) now that Susan is finished with it.
Clive eventually appears and apologises for being late. Byron is also running late and Clive can't wait any longer due to back- to- back meetings. Jane decides to call Byron to see where he is...
... except he is rather too occupied with one of the clients from last week (Danielle, the blonde one) to answer his phone.
Freya and Levi are ready to head out when Grant comes by looking for Mackenzie. He explains that she isn't in a good way and of course because he's talking to them about her, Mackenzie walks in and isn't amused! Freya tries to calm things down but Mackenzie isn't listening and instead rushes to her room. She offers to talk to Mackenzie, but Grant realises he is the one that needs to do something (given he started it), so tells the pair to head out.
Nicolette chats religion with Kiri as they walk from the car park towards the complex. From the hotel foyer, Chloe spots the pair chatting and doesn't look amused!
Given he didn't appear for coffee and wasn't answering his phone, Jane has decided to head to his pad to check that he is okay... plus she wants to see his pad too. Byron is very defensive and refuses to let Jane cross the threshold, eventually agreeing to meet her instead for dinner before quickly closing the door.
"You didn't double book me?" Danielle asks when he closes the door and Byron is quick to reply that the caller "was not a client!" before the pair head into the bedroom!
Grant tries to justify himself to Mackenzie over why he was talking to Freya and Levi behind her back. In turn, Mackenzie explains why she's been grieving privately - bad memories of how she was grieving from after her mum died. Grant now understands things and so does a deal with her - "if you promise to tell me how you're really doing, I promise to let you do whatever you need to make it easier." Mackenzie agrees to the deal and tells her dad about the dream she's had about Hendrix and wants to know what it means. "Nothing," is his reply, its part of the grieving process.
In the rear outdoor area, Sadie is using the video equipment to record Nicolette for her assignment but they need to stop because the memory card is full.
Given the break, Nicolette heads back inside and spots Kiri and Chloe chatting with each other.
Kiri is explaining why she kept quiet about going back to the church along with reassuring Chloe that there is nothing going on between herself and Nicolette. Chloe guesses that she isn't the one Kiri wants to go to when "there's news to share" along with the fact things between them aren't "really working." "Challenging," is how Kiri is phrasing things and agrees with Chloe that their sexual chemistry is "non- existent."
KIRI: I guess I just didn't want to give up.
Kiri wants to move out, but Chloe rejects the offer, they can simply go back to being friends. The pair shake on their deal and in the kitchen, its Nicolette's turn to look unamused!
Byron literally has Danielle tied up when she receives a phonecall. The voice on the end is Clive's and from how they chat, its quite clear they know one another.
"I didn't know you had a boyfriend?" Byron asks after Danielle hangs up. Danielle doesn't say who the caller is, instead asks if he is jealous. Rather than reply back in words, Byron decides to reply back with action instead... especially given Danielle is somewhat tied up!
We now know why the memory card was full up - Hendrix had used the camera to record a video.
Nicolette comes back outside to resume filming but Sadie explains she has to go and quickly packs up the stuff up before heading off.
Chloe checks that Mackenzie is okay for her to go to Adelaide. "I'll be okay," Mackenzie reassures her with so that Chloe can head off (Aaron gives his blessing too we hear).
Chloe now has to reassure Kiri that its nothing to do with her, she simply needs "a reset." While she is away, Chloe tells Kiri to use the time to explore things with Nicolette. Kiri doesn't look too keen on doing that, because Nicolette's "a lot of drama" along with the fact they've just started to communicate properly again too.
CHLOE: I want you to find your person and if that's Nic, then despite everything that's happened between you two in the past, maybe its worth giving things another shot.
Nicolette is surprised at Byron being an hour early for dinner and the pair banter with each other when Bryon's phone rings... his other one that is and she is bemused to discover he's got two phones. "One is for work," he explains after cancelling the incoming call, which also bemuses her given he's only been employed "for two minutes!"
Meanwhile, while she waits for Levi to come back with their drinks, Freya reads a text from Aaron: 'David says he's been left alone today. Thanks so much for doing this.'
When he exits the house, Grant spots Sadie hanging outside #24 and goes to talk to her. She explains to him about finding the videos of Hendrix (practicing his wedding vows) on the school equipment. Freya wants to let Mackenzie know but doesn't want to upset her. Grant thinks its better she holds onto them just now, as he doesn't think Mackenzie is ready for anything like that just now.
Kiri breaks off chatting with Glen to go talk to Nicolette instead. Nicolette is concerned about Kiri following her chat with Chloe earlier. Kiri explains that Chloe and herself "have decided to end things" since it "wasn't working out." Nicolette is sorry to hear the news, but Kiri is fine with things ending, she's got other things to focus on instead.
The Waterhole (veranda)
Once Nicolette joins them, Byron lays down the law to his mum and sister about there being no unannounced visits to his house! "What private activities are you getting up to?!" Nicolette teases her bother back with... little does she actually know!
Clive turns up and Jane does the intros between the men. "You sound familiar. Have we met before?" Bryon asks Clive but he doesn't think so. Byron then remembers where he recognises the voice from - the phonecall Danielle took while in his bed.
