Lassiters Hotel - Kyle's Room
Roxy is slightly concerned when Kyle still hasn't answered her question, but Kyle is worried that she's just proposing because of the cancer. Roxy admits his cancer diagnosis is scary but it's not why she popped the question. She did it because she wants to be with him for the rest of their lives, no matter what.

ROXY: I want to be by your side forever. To love you, to protect you, to always be there for you. And I kind of want you to do the same for me. So are you gonna leave a gal hanging?

Smiling fondly at her, Kyle says to ask him again. And when she does, it's a resounding yes.

Amy's Apartment
Ned has stopped by on Amy's request because she's picked up on the fact that he's not keen on attending the Christmas party as a trio. Ned understands Amy would like him and Levi to be mates again, but his main concern for now is that he doesn't want to dress up as a donkey. He feels strange about Levi getting to be the leading man while he's stuck as the sidekick. Amy apologises and says she just wanted the three of them to be united again, so Ned takes it on the chin and tries to be happy about his costume.

NED: I'll be fine. I'll be the sexiest damn donkey you've ever seen.
AMY: (laughing) We can change the costume. I mean, the last thing I want is to make you feel like an ass. (Off Ned's smirk) Sorry, I had to, it was too easy.

Lassiters Complex
Sheila and Levi have been summoned by Kyle and Roxy to meet them at the hotel. Sheila's fretting because she's worried Kyle's made a spur of the moment decision - like deciding not to go through with his chemo. But Levi tells her not to jump to conclusions. When they reach the hotel they find Kyle and Roxy sitting outside with champagne and are surprised yet delighted when they hear the engagement news. There's congratulatory hugs all around. Levi asks if they want to make the night a bit fancier, but seeing as Kyle can only have one sip of alcohol due to his upcoming treatment, this suits him fine. They all raise their glass for a cheers, and while Sheila's happy, she also suddenly looks slightly worried.

Harold's Café
The next morning Susan is chiding Karl because he left their costume purchases till the last minute. Karl believes there'll still be something good at the Community Centre Op Shop, but Susan decides to take her chances at the costume shop in West Waratah. Ned and Levi are in the Café and look concerned when Karl starts itching, claiming it's a psychosomatic symptom from talking to patients all day. When the Kennedys leave the boys have a slight freak out, but they're soon distracted when Amy races inside. She's flustered because the reindeer decoration at the bar has fallen but the boys assure her they'll work together and fix it.

Erinsborough Hospital
Roxy and Sheila walk with Kyle after his first chemo treatment has finished. Kyle says he's tired but pleased there's only three more rounds to go. Sheila's delighted when Kyle says he's ready to come home, but Roxy would like one more night at the hotel with Kyle for a Christmas movie marathon. Kyle has a different idea, though, and says he wants to go to the Christmas party so they can celebrate their engagement news. Roxy says she'll find them some costumes and Sheila offers to help so Kyle can have a rest before the party. It appears as though Sheila's worries from the night before are still with her, however, judging by the look on her face.

The Waterhole
Melanie has set up a 'Mystic Mel' booth advertising psychic readings for ten dollars a pop. Nell is there as her trusty assistant, the both of them dressed up in fortune teller gear. Their first customer is Vera, who is dressed as a giant Christmas pudding. She wants Mel to contact her dearly departed sister, Val. Vera's skeptical when Mel brings up Val's hoarding tendencies, claiming that Toadie must have told her, but she's suckered in when Mel correctly guesses Val loved the beach. "She fancied a lighthouse keeper once, terrible business," Vera remarks. Mel's stoked when Vera hands her another ten bucks so she can 'ask' Val where she hid the money Vera's been looking for.

The Flamingo Bar Exterior
Amy is happy to see that Ned and Levi have fixed the giant reindeer on the roof of the bar. She's also happy to see them both hot and sweaty after their troubles.

Community Centre
Roxy and Sheila look through the Op Shop for costume ideas. Roxy jokingly holds up a wedding dress and wonders if Kyle would like it if she rocked up wearing it. Sheila looks troubled when Roxy happily says she could wear a sack and have her wedding near a dumpster if it meant she'd end up with Kyle for the rest of her life. "I reckon we can do better than a sack," Sheila replies.

The Waterhole
Karl (dressed as a beach goer) and Susan (wearing a giant sunscreen bottle costume) are Melanie's next customers. After Karl's heard his news, Susan urges him to give Mel another ten dollars so she can find out the fate of Dahl. Susan tells Mel that Dahl just flew out the window one day, many years back, and she's hoping he met a lovely fate. The reading starts off well enough, but things take a dark turn when Mel is surprisingly on the money with what happened to Dahl, much to Karl's alarm and Susan's horror.

MELANIE: Val Grundy didn't have a cat at any point did she? My heart is racing! The terror! Feathers, feathers everywhere!
SUSAN: (mortified) Karl! Did Val Grundy's cat eat Dahl?
KARL: (solemnly) Not all of her.
SUSAN: Oh! (Getting upset) And all this time I just thought she'd flown off somewhere beautiful and safe.

Karl attempts to hug Susan but can't reach his arms around her bulky costume and holds onto her hand instead.

KARL: Darling, I buried her in the backyard. She had a fitting send-off.
SUSAN: At least I can visit her grave.
KARL: Yeah - she may be under the greenhouse.
MELANIE: Are there any other pets you'd like me to contact?
KARL: (hastily) No.
SUSAN: (glaring at Karl) No.

Harold's Café
Nell sits and listens as Mel giddily tells Toadie about her great psychic session with Val. Toadie jokes that since Mel's an official psychic now she won't need his help in the mornings anymore finding her keys. Melanie's just thrilled she's getting the chance to help people reconnect with their loved ones. And Toadie's thrilled all of Melanie's trips to Madame Zolga are finally paying dividends.

Lassiters Hotel - Kyle's Room
Sheila is airing her concerns to Kyle about his engagement and worries he and Roxy are rushing things. Sheila knows Roxy's thrilled but she also hasn't been married before. "You and Georgia didn't end up so well, and now with the cancer on top of everything," Sheila starts to add, but Kyle promises her he's not getting into this for the wrong reasons.

SHEILA: I just want you to be sure.
KYLE: I am. Roxy's the best thing that ever happened to me. Whatever I had with Georgia, that was different.
SHEILA: So you don't think you should wait? I mean just until we know what's happening with your health.
KYLE: What for? I'm ready. And Roxy, she knows what she wants. She wouldn't have proposed if she didn't.
SHEILA: That is true.
KYLE: Roxy wants me just the way I am. Can't ask for more than that. It feels right, gran. She's the one.
SHEILA: Well then I couldn't be happier for you.

Roxy suddenly bursts in carrying her and Kyle's costumes for the party. Kyle wonders if she found him the sexy snowman outfit she was talking about, but Roxy grins and says it's even better.

The Flamingo Bar Exterior
Karl finds Amy, Ned and Levi having a drink together and compliments them on the festive ambience. They're interrupted by Vera striding over to growl at Karl about an infuriating itch she's been having, so Karl quickly whisks her away for a more private consultation.

Amy worriedly asks Levi and Ned if they think the hotel manager blabbed their secret, but Ned doesn't think so. He also states that they weren't the ones who spread it. "Full disclosure, though, gran has it," Levi confesses. He thinks she got it doing his washing, but Ned doesn't see how that connects the dots to Vera. Amy just hates the thought of more gossip being spread about them, but Levi says if Mick blabs then they'll deal with it. She thanks them for being amazing then says she needs a nap before the party starts. Levi and Ned decide to have one more drink together in the meantime. When Levi goes to grab the drinks, Ned apologises to Amy for making such a fuss about their trio costumes earlier. Amy tells him not worry - she's found better ones for them that are more equitable.

The Waterhole
Kyle and Roxy enter dressed as a shrimp and a Barbie doll. Kyle tells Roxy it's a shame she didn't propose earlier or they could have had a themed wedding seeing as everyone's dressed up. Roxy sees Mel's booth and plonks herself down for a reading. Kyle's cynical but Roxy's just there for some fun and is particularly pleased when Mel brings up a dearly departed grandparent ("Pop!" Roxy exclaims) who is pleased about Roxy's exciting news. Roxy divulges that her and Kyle are engaged, which genuinely thrills Mel. She gives them both a hug.

Amy's Apartment
Amy's in bed with Ned, complimenting him on his "efforts". Ned says it took a bit of a push but it ended up fun. They start kissing and suddenly Levi appears, shirtless. He hops on the bed too and asks Amy if he can tempt her with another round. "Yeah, I think you can," Amy says breathlessly before kissing him as well. She suddenly wakes up - alone - and it's made clear she was just having a saucy dream.

The Flamingo Bar Exterior
Nell and Hugo occupy themselves at the arts and crafts table while Toadie congratulates Roxy and Kyle on their engagement. Kyle looks at the kids and tells Roxy he can't wait to "have a cute little pair" like them running around. "Anything's possible," Roxy smiles. Toadie asks if they've got plans for a big engagement bash, but they surprise him by saying that the Christmas party is it. They figure most of the people they love will be there anyway. "And all of the drinks are on Paul," Roxy adds, "not that he knows, but I'm sure he doesn't mind."

The Waterhole
Karl apologises to Susan for lying to her about Dahl, but she thinks he's only sorry because he was caught. Susan wonders if there are any other white lies she should know about. Like the time Billy broke his arm - was it really Malcolm's fault or just another cover up?

KARL: Come on, I wouldn't lie about our children! What, because of a bird?
SUSAN: Oh-ho-ho, well it's not the first bird you've lied to me about, is it?

Over at Mel's psychic table, Mel is surprised to find Nell there handing her ten dollars. Nell says she wants to be the next customer, which Melanie is happy to oblige.

MELANIE: Who would you like me to contact for you? Would you like me to contact Santa Claus? Or the Tooth Fairy?
NELL: I want you to speak to mummy.
MELANIE: (awkward) Oh.
