Terese comes out of the hotel and notes her surprise at him being here. Paul arrives and welcomes Glen with open arms, Glen halfheartedly returns the hug. Glen decided they needed more time to catch up after all this time. Paul is happy to hear this! Paul insists on taking Glen's suitcase and goes to sort out a room upgrade.
Michel has decided that guests want to buy gifts for the staff and is setting up a registry.
HARLOW: We wouldn't want them buying us any old thing.
Michel won't let them come to the Summer Social if they buy them any old gift! Chloe disagrees as she wants to start off the season instead of alienating guests. She doesn't think the guests will want to do this. Michel suggests filling the pool with glitter so they're inside a giant snow globe instead.
CHLOE: We're a large hotel chain, not a large scale hazard waiting to happen. You need to tone your ideas down.
Michel seems happy to do this and heads off. Chloe isn't so sure if he took the hint though.
Terese notes that the place has changed a lot since Glen last visited! Paul has managed to get a great room upgrade for Glen. Glen isn't totally sure if he's staying a few nights or more.
PAUL: Depending on how much trouble we can cause.
Glen and Terese are rather awkward around each other. Paul suggests contacting family members for lunch so they can meet Glen. He invites Terese, she claims work as an excuse. He notices she's not wearing her wedding ring as Terese tries to cover it up.
Karl is updating David about Kyle. David thinks Kyle's chances are good but it will be a lot for Kyle and Roxy to go through. David promises to support them as he takes a call from Paul.
Toadie agrees for his Office to be used as Santa's Workshop. Michel talks through his plans including a real life reindeer. Toadie realises he's not joking and isn't so keen. Toadie apparently does work from his Office! Michel offers a desk in the Day Spa in exchange for a free face peel. Chloe hasn't agreed this yet.
Chloe isn't agreeing to this and wants Michel to rein in his ideas. Toadie can't understand how Michel managed to get his job and thinks Michel is already planning out how to use Toadie's Office. Chloe promises to sort it out.
Chloe asks Harlow to write an incident report over what has just happened. Harlow isn't keen to do it but Chloe needs to sort this out herself. It's important to do it now so they can get as much detail as possible.
CHLOE: You've been wanting more responsibility. Here it is.
Paul is proudly spouting about David's doctor skills as he introduces him to Glen. Leo wasn't able to get away from the Vineyard. David is more modest as Harlow arrives after being delayed.
GLEN: Still all about family.
DAVID: Well we didn't give him a choice. We just turned up on his doorstep. Same way you did with your Dad.
GLEN: Hope he gave you a better welcome than he did me. Paul tried everything he could to get me out of the picture back then.
Paul is sorry for his actions at the time but is happy to welcome family now. Lucy updated Glen about the family tree but he was struggling to remember names. David mentions the paralysis and the misdiagnosis. Glen shrugs it off, David offers to talk but Glen cuts him off.
PAUL: To brothers united.
Susan is stunned to hear that Glen is in Erinsborough. Glen didn't deny coming to catch up with Paul, Terese is more doubtful. Susan thinks Glen has softened after talking to Lucy. She suggests Glen wants to get to know the rest of the family as well. Terese thinks there's more to this than Glen is letting on.
Glen notes that Harlow and Paul get on well. Harlow admits it hasn't been plain sailing but has been there. Harlow wants to know how it is reconnecting after such a long time. Glen is ok but changes the subject to Harlow's job.
David apologises to Paul for talking about Glen being paralysed. David realised from Paul changing the subject that Glen doesn't find it easy to talk about.
PAUL: I didn't want to drudge up any old memories. So much I want to ask him.
DAVID: Then ask.
PAUL: I don't want to scare him off like I did at the conference.
DAVID: Maybe take your cues from him.
Harlow and David have to head off.
GLEN: Paul's very lucky to have you both in his life.
Paul wants to head out to the balcony but Glen wants to go and get settled in his room.
Michel and David bump into each other as Michel is carrying a poinsettia in front of his face. David is stunned to see Michel.
DAVID: Mick what are you doing here? Why are you in a Lassiter's outfit?
MICHEL: I'm the new Front Desk Manager. I'm quietly confident I'm being eyed by the suits upstairs.
David makes doubly sure he's not just here to see Aaron. Michel has got the message and is focusing on his career. David will get an intervention order on Michel otherwise! Michel is more interested in rich older men. He would rather keep quiet about their history.
Outside The Waterhole
David questions Chloe about her hiring Michel. Chloe hadn't realised before this was the same person as he's got a different name. David insists that Chloe fires Michel. She explains Michel is the guy who got into the role by mistake.
DAVID: The guy is seriously unstable.
CHLOE: Unstable enough to have a criminal record? If he failed to disclose that could be grounds to fire him. Otherwise I have to wait till he has three warnings.
DAVID: I hope so. The longer he's here the more damage he can cause.
David wants to go and talk to Aaron but Chloe isn't so keen as she's under pressure so promises to sort it.
Harlow is phoning Michel trying to locate him. She needs to get going as she needs to get on with her housekeeping duties. Chloe wants to know what's going on, Harlow explains that Michel set up a meeting to brainstorm ideas with her. Chloe sees a Christmas poster, Harlow was unaware of that. Chloe tells Harlow that the last incident report wasn't that great. Glen arrives at the door.
HARLOW: Do you really have to criticise everything that I do?
CHLOE: When crazy is on the loose yes I do. I just don't think you're taking it seriously enough.
Apparently the report was rushed and skimped on detail. Harlow thinks Chloe isn't being fair as she spots Glen just outside the door. Chloe vows to get rid of the posters as Glen goes back inside and gets the lift downstairs.
Glen meets Terese for a chat.
GLEN: How did Paul end up with such nice kids and grandkids as David and Harlow?
TERESE: He wasn't around during their formative years.
GLEN: Seems an ongoing thing with his offspring.
Glen wants to be convinced that Paul has changed. That's the reason he's in Erinsborough. Paul is his brother and things have been unfinished up to now. Glen realises it won't be easy especially after Paul glazed over his accident.
TERESE: Paul is a lot of things but I truly believe that he regrets the way he acted. He's really happy to have you here.
GLEN: You never can be sure with him.
Toadie still isn't convinced, Karl thinks it would be ok to set up in the Day Spa. Michel arrives with a festive menu with tinsel surrounding it. Michel thinks Toadie should have spoken to him rather than complaining to Chloe!
KARL: Perhaps you weren't listening.
MICHEL: Who do we have here? Smouldering eyes, fit boderiel. Dr Dreamboat.
Karl introduces himself and seems flattered. Michel seems impressed and his heart is skipping a beat! Karl suggests he gets checked out as Michel flirts. Toadie points out Karl's happily married to Susan who arrives on the scene. Michel seems unfazed and heads off. Susan laughs it off. Karl is disappointed Michel isn't working out.
Chloe has tracked Michel down outside the hotel and reminds him he's meant to be manning the front desk. He tells her he has been sorting out the festive menu and thinks it will be a hit with the guests.
CHLOE: What guests? Nobody can check in.
MICHEL: Makes them more exclusive.
CHLOE: You're meant to be providing customer service. Unless you're just here to chase after Aaron.
She knew about what happened, she didn't realise that Michel was the super fan. She doesn't think the guy recently wasn't actually an ex and Michel had stalked the guy. Harlow overhears and wants to hear more. Michel tries to defend himself and tells them he's into older guys now. Chloe tells him she will get HR to investigate. Michel is unfazed as he's got through the police check. Michel promises to ignore Aaron if they cross paths.
MICHEL: Pinkie promise.
HARLOW: He really is the gift that keeps on giving.
Susan comments that Glen has been through a lot with Paul. Terese is still suspicious of Glen's reasons.
SUSAN: It's just interesting this interest you have in Paul.
TERESE: Just because I'm mad at him doesn't mean-
Terese cuts off her sentence as she sees Paul approach their table. Terese hasn't checked her messages so hasn't got Paul's message. Paul thinks the family get together went well and Glen wants to get past his issues. Terese looks a bit flushed as she wishes them the best in sorting it out. Paul wants a private word with Terese but Terese is happy for Susan to hear whatever he has to say. Paul agrees reluctantly as Susan looks awkward. Paul has noticed Terese isn't wearing her wedding ring. Terese tells him she decided to remove it and isn't sure whether to put it back yet. She doesn't feel comfortable talking about it. Paul hopes she will reconsider as he wanders off.
Susan wants to know why Paul thought things went ok earlier. Terese is unsure, she thinks Paul wasn't honest with Paul about how he's feeling.
SUSAN: Makes you wonder what else he's not being honest about.
Susan advises being wary of Glen in case he's planning something.
David notes Harlow is looking shattered, Harlow tells him it's down to Michel. He's not up to the job. David wonders how Michel got the role in the first place, Harlow doesn't say anything.
DAVID: I don't care how he got the job. I just care that he loses it. It's the last thing Aaron and I need, Mick back in our lives. We've got enough going on at home already.
Chloe is surprised to see Harlow as she is meant to be cancelling a glitter order. Harlow wants to talk to Chloe first about Mick leaving his job.
CHLOE: I thought you loved having him here. It makes me look like a terrible Manager.
HARLOW: Enough's enough. He needs to go.
Glen arrives and tells Terese he is planning to stay in the area for at least a few weeks. She tells him he can sort it out at Reception as she goes to head off. He realises that something is up.
TERESE: You do realise that Paul has no idea of the resentment you're feeling towards him.
GLEN: Course he doesn't. If he did he'd have to own his mistakes.
Terese wants to know why Glen isn't honest with Paul about this. Glen doesn't think he would get anywhere. Terese wants to know why Glen is sticking around then.
GLEN: Paul treated you badly though you care.
TERESE: We were together a very long time. Regardless of what's happened that doesn't go away overnight.
GLEN: He's clearly got a hold on you.
TERESE: Why do you care? Why are you really in Erinsborough?
GLEN: I have unfinished business with Paul. I'm also here for you.
