JANE: I was just telling him off when you came over. He was being noisy whilst filming.
CURTIS: That boy and his camera. Susan was clear what she expected from him. (Jane heads off.)
Outside the Flamingo Bar
Levi and Ned have both turned up to give Amy help with the party. They check their phones to see if there's been a mess up. She wanted them both there as she still has so much to get ready before the festival. They weren't sure after the mix- up in the hotel, Amy apologises and promises there won't be a repeat! They're happy to help and head inside.
Jane tells Clive she stopped herself when she realised what was about to happen. Clive is relieved that Hendrix is ok. Jane can't see any positives and can't get over the fact that this happened. Clive wishes he had refrained from talking to Susan.
JANE: You are not responsible for how I behaved.
CLIVE: I made you feel anxious about work and you've got every right to be angry with me.
JANE: I wasn't really angry at Hendrix. It's Nicolette. It's tearing me apart.
Jane is crying and Clive takes her hands. She apologises for the night before, Clive understands. She wanted to try braving work but it hasn't worked. Jane worries Nicolette won't ever contact her in the future.
Susan comes to admire Isla, David tells her the nappy rash cream she recommended helped. Chloe ask how Jane is getting on at work, Susan thinks Jane is coping ok. They think Jane will cope at work.
Hendrix arrives, he tells them he's unsure how Jane is getting on at school. Aaron suggests they go and see her as Hendrix looks awkward.
Amy is organising Levi and Ned with their jobs. Toadie arrives with Hugo and Nell and admires the setup. Amy tells him there are a lot of jobs left! Toadie is coming as the dude from Lebowski. Amy thinks Toadie should find a better costume as Melanie will dream up a brilliant outfit. Amy refuses to tell them what her costume is. Amy suggests that Nell and Hugo find another costume for Toadie. Nell has been picking up on the looks between Amy, Ned and Levi so Toadie decides to take the children home.
David, Aaron and Chloe have arrived with Isla. Jane is still dabbing her eyes and David offers her a cuddle. Jane makes an excuse of Isla needing a nap! Jane doesn't want to discuss school. She's not ready for a cuddle and suggests they go. Clive tells them it's not a good time and to return later. They promise to check beforehand the next time.
Chloe wants to know what's happened as the others leave. Clive explains that school didn't go so well. Chloe tells her it's not necessary to rush things. Jane doesn't think it's best for her to spend time with Isla.
Now Chloe knows the facts she still doesn't think Jane shouldn't be around Isla. Jane isn't so sure, she never thought she would come so close to hurting Hendrix. Clive and Chloe think they can sort things out. Susan thinks she should talk to Susan then work things out before spending more time with Isla. Jane thinks Hendrix might have already spoken to Susan but Clive isn't so sure.
CHLOE: Things might not have been as bad as you remember.
JANE: You didn't see the look on his face.
Chloe offers to talk to Hendrix and help sort things out.
Levi and Ned admit that the other night was awkward for them both. They decide to draw a line under it. They realise that Amy hasn't invited either of them to the party that night. They agree to talk to Amy but neither is keen to take the first step.
Sheila and Kyle arrive with extra plates and cups. Sheila heads off after offering Kyle's help for anything extra. Amy and Kyle think things might have improved after the barbecue. Amy asks Ned and Levi to unpack the boxes. Ned starts discussing the party with Levi in front of Amy and talking about their dates. Amy has decided to go by herself as she will be too busy for a date. Ned and Levi agree with this.
AMY: You guys should go as Batman and Robin.
Hendrix is watching the footage of Jane crying as Chloe arrives. Chloe tells him she knows and is checking how he's doing.
HENDRIX: Not sure. I've had a lot of teachers yell at me before but none of them try to hit me.
CHLOE: I hope you know you don't deserve it.
Hendrix realises this and Jane's reaction was OTT. He isn't sure if he should tell Susan. Chloe can't make up his mind for him. She gently reminds him that Jane has a lot going on. It could help Jane if he goes easier on her, they both agree it doesn't make things better. They know it's possible to make a mistake. Hendrix suggests Jane has more time off. Chloe thinks it won't help Jane if she loses her job. Hendrix thinks Susan would be compassionate.
Susan comes out of the bedroom and hears her name. Chloe apparently is here about the film festival. Hendrix is working on his film. Susan will leave the complicated details to Hendrix! Chloe and Hendrix look at each other.
Chloe can't say for definite what Hendrix will decide. Jane doesn't think this is the right thing to do.
CHLOE: I didn't pressure him. I gave him context.
Jane feels bad for asking them for help, Clive is happy to help. Jane gets a text from Susan arranging a meeting that afternoon. Clive thinks Hendrix has been honest but Chloe isn't so sure. Chloe apologises but Jane tells her it needed to be done.
Aaron is puzzled as he thought Jane would have wanted to be with Isla. David is worrying about Jane. Aaron wonders if they could have caused the upset. Amy arrives and admires Isla.
AMY: I hear that you two have a mirror ball.
DAVID: Do you want the Rainbow Mardi Gras one or Aaron's old faithful from his Rogue Trade days?
AMY: Old faithful.
They would love to attend the festival but aren't ready to let a babysitter look after Isla yet, Amy understands. Aaron hopes all goes well. Amy talks about not having a date and realise David and Aaron don't know she is going out with both Ned and Levi. Aaron is impressed and gives Amy a high five. David wants to hear the latest goss as they haven't heard much lately.
AARON: I bet you've got some stories to tell you minx.
Jane arrives in Susan's office looking rather apprehensive. Susan mentions an incident between her and Hendrix. Jane tells her that what Hendrix said was true. Curtis had told Susan about Jane reprimanding Hendrix and Susan would like the full story. Hendrix arrives and Susan asks him to return later. Hendrix tries to explain.
HENDRIX: Miss Harris had already told me off. I did it again which annoyed her. I'm sorry I shouldn't have ignored your instructions. Won't happen again.
SUSAN: That sound right to you?
JANE: That is partially what happened.
Hendrix insists it's correct, Susan sends him out of the office.
JANE: Thank you but I can't go along with this. I have done something terrible.
Levi and Ned realise they've both been asked to meet Amy outside her house, no mix- ups this time! Amy wants to be honest.
AMY: I did want to take someone to the party but couldn't decide who. Didn't want either of you to feel less valued than the other.
Amy admits to feeling insecure when Toadie and his kids arrived. Amy has decided she doesn't care about other people's opinions and has decided to go with both of them. Ned and Levi are surprised as that isn't usually the arrangement. Amy thinks people will accept the idea more readily if they see all out together. Ned and Levi agree. Levi suggests Batman, Robin and Catwoman costumes.
Jane walks through the halls. Hendrix approaches her and tells her he doesn't understand what happened.
JANE: I didn't deserve it and especially not from you.
Hendrix thinks she should have taken the opportunity. Jane is now on indefinite leave from now. Jane realises she could have been fired. She was honest though and agreed to counselling. She doesn't feel she's in the right state of mind to be here. Hendrix doesn't think badly of her. He suggests bubble baths to help.
JANE: Why are you being so nice to me?
HENDRIX: I was looking through the shots that I filmed in school and I saw something that I wasn't supposed to. It was you having a breakdown.
Hendrix realised he made things worse when she was going through so much. Hendrix wasn't trying to invade her space and promises to get rid of the footage. Jane thanks him. They apologise to each other. Jane realises she needs to make some more apologies.
Aaron, David and Isla have arrived after Jane has invited them over. She apologises for her earlier behaviour.
JANE: I am still struggling with losing Nicolette. It's just making things tougher for me pretending that I'm not.
DAVID: We didn't realise.
Jane is getting teary and admits she's not quite herself. She needs to come to terms with the fact that Nicolette isn't here too, some days are harder. They understand this. They will support her and understand her reasons even though they don't agree with what Nicolette has done. They're happy for Jane to continue to be in Isla's life. Jane agrees to let them know when it's time to do so.
CLIVE: We're all on your side Jane.
Ned is keener on Men in Black but Levi wants to be Robin. Sheila comes out of the house and has been trying to get in touch with Levi. Levi hasn't heard his phone as it's on silent. Sheila tells Levi a visitor has arrived. Levi realises who the visitor is from his phone.
LEVI: Did you know about this Gran?
SHEILA: I'm as surprised as you are.
LEVI: (To David and Amy) I can't come to the party tonight.
AMY: What do you mean?
LEVI: I know we agreed to be out and proud and everything. I can't do that any longer. I'm so sorry.
Levi heads inside as Ned and Amy look puzzled at each other.
Levi arrives home and he and his Mum Evelyn give each other a big hug. He asked her why she's come to visit.
LEVI: It's amazing that you're here obviously.
EVELYN: Nothing's obvious until you say it.
She takes a good long look at him as they haven't seen each other for a while. She gives him a gift as she missed his birthday. Sheila tells him that they celebrated his birthday. The kids back in Portland helped her find the present. Sheila awkwardly tells Evelyn that she's heard all about the lovely house. The visit is spontaneous hence not telling him earlier. Evelyn is here for a couple of days as she's between contracts and wants to see Erinsborough that Levi has been raving about! Sheila goes to mention Amy but Levi cuts her off by offering his Mum a cup of tea.
Levi doesn't want Sheila to mention anything about Amy.
SHEILA: I thought you were out and proud. Your Mum was always very big on watching your table manners. So I'd be interested to know how she feels about this sharing.
LEVI: She can never know about Amy. Ever.
