Number 26 Backyard
Roxy thinks that she and Kyle should go door-knocking to try and gain more information about the ring. Roxy gets frustrated when Kyle suggests she take a break from it all, and she reminds him that the guy who "coward punched" her is still out there. Sheila joins them and lets them know she received a text from Mark, thanking her for the flowers she sent for Fay's funeral. Kyle asks his gran how she's coping and Sheila reflects on what a good friend Fay was; she'd always send Sheila a 'thinking of you' card whenever they hadn't spoken for a while.
The Waterhole/Car Park
Susan's phone rings and she shows Karl, Bea and Hendrix that it's Olivia trying to reach her yet again. Karl says the best policy is to ignore Olivia, then excuses himself for the bathroom. Susan wishes she could turn her phone off but she needs to be contactable for work. Hendrix thinks Susan should just block her, but Susan knows Olivia will just keep trying with different numbers.
BEA: Let me answer, I can tell her to get stuffed!
SUSAN: Tempting, but confrontation is not the answer.
BEA: You ignoring her isn't working either. You've told her what you're going through.
SUSAN: Not the full extent of it. I told her that I couldn't do it because of mental health reasons.
BEA: Well that's got to be enough!
When the phone rings again Susan decides to answer it this time, hoping to make herself clear once and for all. Olivia is relieved Susan finally picked up and hastily tells her that her publisher's advance was tied to her involvement - she'll do anything to make it work. Susan is apologetic, but tells Olivia it's not going to happen and to stop calling her. Karl returns just as Susan hangs up and is confused as to why she spoke to Olivia.
Number 30
Yashvi and Ned have returned from their trip away and Yashvi is eager to see her parents. She's worried that things might still be strained between them, but her concerns are quashed when Shane and Dipi gleefully emerge from the bedroom with their clothing rumpled. Yashvi's equal parts grossed out and happy her parents are under the same roof again. Ned gets an alert on his phone letting him know Sheila has added him to the neighbourhood watch group chat.
NED: I think she's just reported our arrival.
YASHVI: (reading the message) 'The Lady and Lord Picasso have arrived back in the nest'. What did we miss?
Dipi explains that there was a break-in at #32, and Shane says no one was hurt but Yashvi could probably get more details from "Detective Sheila" if she needed them.
The Waterhole
Susan explains to Karl that she picked up the call because she thought if she made her stance perfectly clear, then Olivia would finally leave them be. However, Karl feels that Olivia knows Susan too well and is preying on her good nature. Bea tells Karl that if it's any consolation, Susan was really stern with Olivia this time. Hendrix doesn't think Olivia will take no for an answer though. Karl's still worried and thinks they should call the police, but Susan doesn't believe that's necessary.
Number 26
Kyle asks Roxy if she wants to watch 'A Star is Born', but they're distracted by Sheila lamenting the fact that no one is taking her neighbourhood watch group chat seriously. She's annoyed that she's the only one reporting all the comings and goings. "And delinquent and copper-top are already off out somewhere!" she moans as she spies on #32 out the window. Roxy understands why Sheila wants more people involved, but Kyle reminds them that sometimes things are just out of their control.
ROXY: So what, we just have to be hopeless damsels in distress?
SHEILA: And sit around watching bad things happen to good people.
KYLE: You mean good people like Fay? Gran, do you remember what we learnt in grief group? After a massive loss, or trauma, we sometimes want to over-control other parts of our lives. But it doesn't really fix what's going on underneath.
Roxy takes this on board and tells Sheila they should get dressed up and go out on the town, just the two of them. She asks what Sheila thinks, and Sheila sends a message to the group chat in response.
KYLE: (reading the text) Bombshell and Crone are on the move.
SHEILA: (grinning at Roxy) That's us! Come on!
The Waterhole
Bea catches up with Yashvi and Ned and is happy to hear that things are going well between Shane and Dipi. Olivia approaches them to ask Ned if she could get a rent reduction on her space at The Hive, but Ned says the owner probably wouldn't be keen on it. Olivia thought it would be a long-shot, and with a side-eye Bea's way, she makes a comment on how she needs Susan back as a collaborative partner quite urgently. Annoyed, Bea reminds her that Susan has already made her feelings on the matter quite clear. Karl sees them and tells Olivia off for continuing to harass his family. Bea, Yashvi and Ned look on uncomfortably as Karl and Olivia's conversation becomes more and more tense.
KARL: Your business here is done.
OLIVIA: The position I'm in is more than financial. My reputation's on the line.
KARL: (sarcastic) Oh wow, how can any of us imagine what that feels like?
OLIVIA: You don't like seeing my face, fine. Help me finish this book and I'll leave.
KARL: You don't understand the weight of what you're asking Susan to do!
OLIVIA: You mean give her a chance to tell her side of the story and clear her name? Wow, what a monster I must be!
KARL: You are! You are a monster! You betrayed us the first time around, you pour salt into the wound of the most traumatic event of our family's lives. And then you come back and you harass Susan for more. More pain and more guilt. I'm not going to let you get away with that!
Yashvi finally intervenes and tells Olivia she should leave. Karl looks vexed but also ashamed that he lost his cool in front of them.
Harold's Café
Yashvi updates Dipi on Karl's outburst and says he was "full guns blazing". Ned remarks that he's never seen Karl like that before. Dipi gets a text and can't help smiling when she sees it's from Shane, letting her know he misses her. Terese walks in and is pleased to see that Ned and Yashvi are back from their holiday, organising a catch-up with them after her meetings. Taking a moment alone by the fridge, Yashvi tells Ned she's pleased at how well her parents are getting along and is convinced that everything is back to normal now. But that might not be the case judging by the covert conversation Dipi and Terese are having by the coffee machine.
TERESE: So have you said anything to Shane yet?
DIPI: No.
TERESE: You know secrecy isn't a long-term solution.
DIPI: I know, but it could blow everything up again and I'm worried. I don't know how he's going to take it.
Terese reminds Dipi that there's only one way to find out.
Number 26
Roxy and Sheila have their best frocks on, ready and raring for their day of fun. Roxy suggests pre-drinks at The Flamingo Bar and then they can get a taxi into the city. Bea drops by to pick up her phone charger she forgot and the dressed-up duo try and rope her into an afternoon of karaoke. Roxy wants them to do a Destiny's Child number, but Sheila says she needs at least three songs to show off her range. Sadly, Bea's busy but she encourages them to have a good time. Roxy and Sheila are about to leave when Roxy gets a text from a guy who saw her flier at uni. She's hesitant to interrupt their plans, but Sheila encourages her to see what information the guy has on the ring. "Tell him we'll meet him at The Flamingo Bar and I'll be there as your back-up," Sheila grins.
Erinsborough High
Susan tells Karl she heard about his confrontation with Olivia from Bea, but Karl is concerned that Olivia is still gunning to have Susan involved in the book. He thinks Olivia sensed weakness from Susan when she answered the phone call earlier. Susan understands he's trying to be protective but getting angry isn't going to solve anything, and neither is provoking Olivia.
KARL: What do we do, let her haunt us forever?
SUSAN: It's not going to go on that long.
KARL: Okay, and you say that based on what?
SUSAN: I left the woman high and dry, we can't be surprised that she's upset.
KARL: Hang on, are you defending her?
SUSAN: No, I'm just saying that now we know the extent of her feelings we may have to be patient and ignore her for longer than we thought. She needs to be left alone to get this out of her system.
KARL: You're being way too considerate.
SUSAN: Anything else is just going to make matters worse. So no more arguments with her, all right? (Karl looks away) All right?
KARL: I won't go looking for them.
Susan isn't pleased with Karl's artistic licence in answering.
The Flamingo Bar
Sheila sits at a table outside while Roxy goes over to meet Khari, the guy who texted her. Khari seems pleased Roxy dressed up for him, but Roxy ignores that response and asks him where he saw the ring, or if he knows who it belongs to.
KHARI: Well do you belong to anyone?
ROXY: No, because feminism.
KHARI: Right on, right on. I'm an ally, so-
ROXY: (confused) Oh.
KHARI: Anyway, I collect records. How about you?
ROXY: (still confused) I collect information about the ring on my flier. That's why we're here, right?
Shane plonks himself down next to Sheila and asks what she's up to. First Sheila berates Shane for his "stupid" contributions to the neighbourhood watch group chat, then informs him she's helping Roxy with a case. Shane glances over at Roxy and wonders what she's doing with "the uni Casanova", which alarms Sheila. When Khari goes into the bar to get drinks, Roxy runs over to Sheila and Shane and says the guy is being really weird, "no ring talk, only personal." Roxy has a sudden thought that Khari could be her attacker, but Shane asks if the guy might have seen her put up the posters.
ROXY: I'm not sure, he might have.
SHANE: Because from what I hear that bloke's a lover not a fighter. I think he might be just trying to pick you up.
ROXY: Oh great. He pretended to have information just to score. I've wasted both of our times. I'm such an idiot.
SHANE: You want me to send him packing?
SHEILA: No. You mess with the Bombshell, you get the Crone.
She pops on her sunnies and looks ready to rumble.
Erinsborough High
Hendrix finds Susan outside and tells her not to be too mad at Karl, he knows the doc is just worried. But Susan assures him that she talked it through with Karl and they're fine now. Susan knows Olivia will probably try to contact her again but they'll cross that bridge when they come to it. Susan heads inside for a meeting and Hendrix is about to move on when he sees Olivia approach the school. Annoyed, Hendrix tells Olivia that stalkers aren't allowed on school property. Whatever she has to say, she can say it in an email. But Olivia replies that emails can be deleted and phone calls ignored, so face-to-face is her only option.
HENDRIX: Susan doesn't need another round of your drama.
OLIVIA: She understands what's going on for me. I could hear it in her voice. She knows what she's cost me.
HENDRIX: You can't just badger someone until they do what you want!
OLIVIA: It's not badgering it's talking, and shouldn't you be in class?
She steps around Hendrix and strides into the school building.
Harold's Café
Bea tells Kyle just how excited Roxy and Sheila were about their day out. She can't believe how far the two of them have come considering how Sheila felt about Roxy in the beginning. "It was really rough for a while," Kyle agrees. Bea thinks it's funny how people clash when they're so alike. Dipi delivers their coffees and thinks Bea's onto something with her musing. Laughing, Kyle tells them that Roxy and Sheila are nothing alike, but Bea and Dipi beg to differ.
BEA: Yeah they're completely different generations but they've got the same energy.
DIPI: They're both total extroverts.
BEA: They love to say it how it is.
DIPI: I wouldn't say opinionated but -
KYLE: No way, you guys are dead wrong.
Terese overhears them from the counter and skips over to join in on the fun.
TERESE: (grinning) Dead wrong about what?
DIPI: About Roxy being a mini-Sheila.
TERESE: (thinks it over) Oh yeah! Yeah, I see that.
KYLE: Well I don't.
TERESE: Why not? I mean they're both loyal, feisty, authentic ladies.
BEA: Aww it's so cute that you're dating a little version of your grandma!
KYLE: No I'm not!
DIPI: Look it's not necessarily a bad thing. You've probably been looking for Sheila in every woman you've ever dated.
KYLE: No I haven't!
BEA: You love loud and interfering.
KYLE: No! That's not Amy or Georgia!
BEA: Well then why didn't those relationships work out? They're not little Sheila!
KYLE: (adamant) Roxy and Gran are very, very, very different. Very!
DIPI: It's funny how they both work in bars though.
TERESE: Ooh, and they both love torturing Paul.
BEA: Yeah they do!
DIPI: And they're both natural flirts, right Kyle?
But Kyle has taken to sticking his fingers in his ears to block out their teasing.
The Flamingo Bar
Roxy's new tactic is to flirt with Khari. But Khari is soon weirded out when he realises a strange woman keeps staring their way. Grinning, Roxy says she's glad Khari noticed and calls Sheila over to join them. Putting their plan in motion, Roxy and Sheila pretend they're a package deal.
SHEILA: (flirty) Everyone loves a good package. Some say three's a crowd, but we say-
ROXY AND SHEILA: It's a party!
SHEILA: And you look just like the kind of young man that would love that.
Also in on the plan is Shane, who wanders past their table.
SHANE: Hey, you three heard of the share platter here? The spicy salami is to die for.
SHEILA: We're all good for hot meat here thanks Shane.
SHANE: No doubt, no doubt.
He moves on and Roxy tells Khari that if he tells her all the info he knows about the ring then they can get down to the fun part. Khari soon confesses that he doesn't know anything - he just saw Roxy put up the fliers and thought she was cute. The girls pretend that they're disappointed and Khari makes a hasty exit from the weird situation he's found himself in. Roxy and Sheila burst into laughter and high five one another.
Number 22
Ned and Yashvi are having their catch-up with Terese, telling her how beautiful it was where they stayed. Yashvi says that what made it even more awesome was when Dipi texted to say she was moving back home. Terese looks concerned after her earlier cryptic conversation with Dipi and gently tells Yashvi that her parents will still need her support, "these things take time to iron out - more time than you think." But Yashvi knows the worst of it is over now. She tells Ned they should plan a family lunch as a belated anniversary celebration for Dipi and Shane. Terese tries to stall them by saying they should take a few days to plan it out more, but Yashvi and Ned think spontaneity is the way to go.
Harold's Café
Hendrix meets up with Karl after texting him about his run-in with Olivia at the school. Hendrix says she was still hanging around after his classes finished and he didn't know what else to do. Karl doesn't know how they're going to get Olivia to back off, especially after he just promised Susan he wouldn't cause anymore trouble. Hendrix comments on how desperate Olivia was and thinks it's going to be hard for Susan to avoid her. Karl doesn't want Susan to go through all her Finn trauma again, so despite his misgivings, he decides to head to the school to get Olivia out of there.
Number 26
Kyle's surprised that Roxy and Sheila are home so early, but they tell him the city was a bust so they're going to hit up the spa instead. Kyle looks alarmed when the girls giggle with each other about their day, and even more so when Roxy christens her and Sheila "Shoxy".
Erinsborough High
Karl finds Olivia at the top of a stairwell and demands that she leave the school. But Olivia tells him to stop trying to insert himself into the situation; it's between her and Susan.
KARL: Her answer is still no.
OLIVIA: Your arrogance is remarkable!
KARL: Excuse me?
OLIVIA: Before you were putting words in her mouth, pressuring her to back out. And now you speak for her.
KARL: Susan and I are a team, which is why I know she's done with you. You want to persist with this, it'll become a police matter.
OLIVIA: Susan knows she has done the wrong thing by reneging.
KARL: How dare you try and take the moral high ground.
OLIVA: She and I had an agreement!
KARL: No! No because vultures can't make agreements, they just circle and pick on things! (He angrily jabs his finger at her) That's what you are! You are a vulture and you're preying on my family!
Looking scared, Olivia backs up to the edge of the stairwell as Karl demands that she stop torturing his family or she will regret it. Done with arguing, Karl clearly moves away from her and starts to leave. But Olivia suddenly takes a tumble down the stairs (perhaps accidentally, perhaps on purpose) leaving Karl horrified.
