- Levi tells Sheila that he'll probably end up working in security.
- Sheila says Levi is a brilliant cop. She stages a protest outside the police station.
- Toadie asks Rose if she's been using him to get information on her ex husband.
- Ned tells Kyle he's received a text from his creepy fan 'Scavenger King'
- Scarlett asks Ned to paint a portrait for her as a wedding present for her new fiancé Basil.
- Ned refuses but she threatens to leak the video he sent her.
- Roxy tells Ned that the whole thing is insane.
Ned and Roxy look awkwardly at each other after recent events. Yashvi appears, saying she's ready to go. Before they leave, she says she's got him something; it's a new pallet knife, engraved with the words 'love, your muse'. Kyle appears, asking if they've got snacks for the road.
ROXY: Only if you've been a good boy.
Yashvi walks back inside and Ned gets a text from Scarlett which reads: 'One painting and I'll be out of your life'. He looks concerned.
Karl asks Toadie if he's going to inform his client James that Scarlett's been snooping on his files. Toadie doesn't seem sure what to do at the moment, saying that James is away for a few days on business. He says he's going to go through all the records to make sure that Rose's story matches up. Talk of the devil, Rose walks in.
ROSE: Hello hello, fancy seeing you here.
TOADIE: Well the chances are pretty good.
ROSE: Yep, you got me...I was just hoping you might have calmed down enough to help me out.
TOADIE: The only person I'm obliged to help is my client.
ROSE: I know but...
TOADIE: Rose, just leave it and go.
They look awkward and Rose heads to the bar. Karl remarks on how bold Rose is and Toadie agrees, saying that she's not helping things by pushing it. Rose's card is declined several times at the bar and in her moment of need, Toadie offers to put it on his tab. She thanks him, looking a little embarrassed.
Roxy says that Paul's annoyed she didn't bring him back any cheese from the Yarra Valley. Ned clearly isn't listening, worrying about Scarlett.
NED: I'm going to bed.
As he gets up, he has a vision of Scarlett standing there with a knife, but it's all in his head. Terese appears with a knife, asking if he wants dessert. He says it's getting cold outside and she says they should maybe eat inside. She goes in and Ned confides in Roxy that he's having visions of Scarlett. He tells her that he's received a text from her saying she wants an answer and he doesn't know what to do. She asks him what she can do to help but he says that he needs to sort it out on his own.
The Cannings enter the Waterhole and Sheila tells the boys to get a table while she orders the drinks. Levi shows Kyle some self- defence moves on his phone and Kyle asks why he's so interested in it at the moment. Levi replies that Bea kicked his butt today.
KYLE: Bea, hey?
LEVI: Yeah, for someone who hasn't been doing it long she's a natural.
KYLE: Is she?
Kyle smiles and says that Levi wasn't interested in Bea when they had their fake relationship and now he won't stop going on about her. Levi admits that he's interested in her, asking Kyle if he thinks he has a chance. Kyle says that Vi's the one to ask. Sheila takes a seat as Levi receives a text from Clive to say that his results will be ready tomorrow. Sheila wonders what Clive has to do with it, and Levi says that Clive is the one who's collating the results and sending them to Levi's boss. She looks annoyed.
SHEILA: He never said a word.
Yashvi tells Bea how great the getaway was and Bea says that she could do with something like that, which makes Yashvi laugh, as Bea's only just been for a holiday to Switzerland. Bea remarks that as much as she loves spending time with Elly and Aster, it's not the same as a romantic getaway. Levi arrives, and Bea asks if he wants to do some training. He says he could do with the distraction as he gets his results back today. Looking glum, the girls try to reassure him. Bea leaves to get changed and Levi grills Vi.
LEVI: So Bea destroyed me yesterday.
YASHVI: Yeah, she mentioned.
LEVI: Did she mention anything else? About her and me?
YASHVI: ...Ah, that. No Bea's totally over you. So you can train without fear (laughs)
LEVI: That's great...
Levi looks disappointed.
CLIVE: One flat white please.
SHEILA: Oh. And when were you going to tell me that you're the man in charge of Levi's results.
CLIVE: Hopefully never. I know what you're like with your family.
Clive tells Sheila that he wasn't going to give her the opportunity to meddle.
SHEILA: I don't meddle...much.
She goes on to say that it should be mentioned in Levi's assessment that he takes care of himself, works out and is meticulous with his medication. Clive stands firm and tells her not to get involved before leaving.
Rose arrives to see Mackenzie. She begins talking but startles Mackenzie who has headphones in. Rose says she's just come to congratulate Mackenzie on winning the election.
MACKENZIE: You're not supposed to be here.
ROSE: I know. I'm sure Toadie has told you all about what I've done and I'm the first to admit that I was wrong.
Rose tries to explain to Mackenzie how awful her ex is, saying she hopes she might understand. Mackenzie doesn't want to hear it, and tells Rose that she really hurt Toadie because of what she's done.
MACKENZIE: I don't feel sorry for you at all.
The Hive/Number 22
Ned arrives at the Hive to find Scarlett ready to be painted. She thanks him for agreeing to do it. As they begin, Scarlett walks over to him, grabs the pallet knife and stabs him...and then he wakes up. It was all a nightmare. Yashvi and Roxy are there and ask him if he's alright. Vi asks if he didn't get enough sleep last night, before he admits that he's had a nightmare about Scarlett. She looks shocked but isn't surprised.
YASHVI: That's understandable. We were at the maze nearly a year ago.
YASHVI: Maybe you should talk to someone, tell them what's going on.
Roxy agrees, and Ned says he'll speak to his counsellor and see if he can book an appointment.
YASHVI: Just forget about work and get some rest.
NED: I'll be fine. Don't worry about it.
TOADIE: It looks like Rose was right. James has moved all of his assets out of his name and into the Shell Corporation so when he and Rose finalise their divorce, Rose will end up with nothing.
MACKENZIE: That's awful.
TOADIE: Yeah, it is. But it's not illegal.
Mackenzie asks what Toadie's going to do but he says there's not much he can do; James is his client, and Rose isn't. As awful as it is, what James is doing isn't against the law. He asks Mackenzie if it makes her think twice about her career choice but it doesn't, although she says she will be careful about what kind of cases she takes on, admitting she wouldn't want to be in his shoes right now.
The Waterhole (exterior)
Kyle catches Bea and Levi about to go training, remarking on how keen they are, as he's still waking up. Bea tells Levi to stop checking his phone, before Sheila exits the Waterhole, overhearing Levi tell Bea how worried he is about his results.
ROXY: Hey...you look like a wreck.
NED: I haven't felt like this since...last year. I don't know what to do Rox. That nightmare wasn't about the maze, it was about me painting Scarlett. I was mixing paints, she was there and she grabbed my pallet knife.
ROXY: This needs to stop. You can't let her get to you like this.
Ned says there's part of him that wants to tell Vi what's going on, but the other part of him is saying that it's just one painting and Scarlett will be gone.
ROXY: Then maybe it's worth it?
Ned says he can't be that close to Scarlett for that long. Roxy points out that Ned's the one in control here; Scarlett could have asked anyone to paint her, but she asked Ned.
ROXY: Take back your power and use it to get what you want.
Sheila arrives to see Clive at the hospital. She's still trying to convince him that Levi should be allowed to keep working for the police, but Clive tries to explain that his hands are tied. Sheila seems frustrated with his response, but his pager goes off and he has to rush off, telling her to stay there and they can talk about it when he's back. As he leaves, Sheila notices his laptop has been left open and unlocked. She finds Levi's results and starts editing them.
Rose is on the phone trying to sort out her money situation. She is told that all her accounts have been frozen, and she can't extend the limit on her credit card. Toadie and Mackenzie walk in and sit down. Rose walks over and asks Mackenzie to give her the headphones.
MACKENZIE: How about no? They're mine...
ROSE: I gave them to Hendrix and he's given them to you, and now I need them back so I can return them to get the money.
MACKENZIE: Well even if you did buy them you can't give them back, they've been in my ears.
Toadie asks why Rose needs the cash and she explains that James has frozen all her accounts and she's maxed out her credit cards.
ROSE: I knew that he would stiff me in the settlement but he's taken everything from me. I have no money. And I know that you think that I'm this spoiled trophy wife who's completely selfish but I gave up everything when I got married to James. I had just graduated from cosmetology school and sacrificed all of my dreams to support him and his dreams but...the joke's on me because he's won big time and I'm just...this pathetic loser.
She bursts into tears.
Sheila saves the revised version of Levi's results and turns the laptop round before Clive returns. They resume their conversation about Levi's health.
CLIVE: I can't send him back to work if I believe his health is going to endanger him or others.
Sheila continues to argue her point of view.
CLIVE: Things aren't always under Levi's control, like what happened the other day. If I go against the recommendations on your say so, he could go back to work, have a seizure, someone's life could be in danger and you would feel terrible.
SHEILA: I don't want to feel responsible for anyone getting hurt.
CLIVE: So do you understand now?
SHEILA: Yeah, I do.
As they leave to get coffee, Sheila looks regretful about what she's done.
Ned arrives at the Hive to find Yashvi working a shift for him. She says that she's happy to help out so he can do everything he can to focus on his exhibition. As he walks upstairs, he looks distracted, clearly consumed by angst over the situation with Scarlett. He decides to call her. She's driving somewhere, and is pleased to hear from him. He says that he'll paint her portrait as long as she deletes all the photos and videos of him and she never contacts him again. Otherwise he'll contact her fiancé Basil and tell him what's been happening.
SCARLETT: Sounds like we've got a deal.
Toadie finishes a phone call to Terese and thanks her. He walks back over to Rose, and tells her that there's a junior beauty therapist position available at the Lassiters spa, and Terese has offered to give Rose a trial. She looks taken aback by how nice he's being, saying that she doesn't deserve his generosity.
TOADIE: Now you can just start to get back on your feet.
ROSE: Thanks Toadie, you are one in a million.
Bea, Kyle and Levi are celebrating with some bubbly as Sheila arrives home.
SHEILA: So what's going on here? It's a little bit early to be drinking the hard stuff, isn't it?
LEVI: We're celebrating. My medical evaluation came through and I got my job back.
Sheila looks worried.
LEVI: That's a good thing, you don't have to be worried anymore.
SHEILA: I always worry, Levi.
LEVI: Stop gran, it's all good. I don't blame you for anything that happened, you don't have to feel guilty.
SHEILA: Well...I'm happy for you.
LEVI: Thanks, Gran, it means a lot to me.
Sheila forces a smile as they all clink their glasses.
