- She finds the drugs and sets them on fire, but at that moment, a police car pulls up
Erinsborough Backpackers
Levi and Yashvi get out of the police car, and tell everyone to stay still; they've caught Harlow in the act of burning the bag of drugs. She insists they're not hers, and that she just found them - Ned, Hendrix and Roxy corroborate her story.
LEVI: And instead of calling us, you try to cover it up?
HARLOW: I know. I wasn't thinking.
NED: Who did call you?
YASHVI: We got tipped off.
Levi looks in the bag, and declares that there is 'more than a trafficable offence here'. He tells Yashvi that this can be her first arrest on her first day on the job!
HARLOW: No, I told you - they're not mine!
ROXY: You know her, Yashvi. She wouldn't do it.
Yashvi looks horrified at what she has to do, but in spite of everyone's protests...
YASHVI: Harlow Robinson, I'm arresting you on suspicion of possession and supplying a classified substance.
Lassiter's Complex
Outside the police station, a worried Paul and Terese arrive. Roxy tells them Harlow is inside being questioned - Hendrix is making a statement and Roxy is making hers shortly. Roxy explains to them that Harlow was just trying to get rid of the drugs; Roxy is feeling guilty because she'd told Harlow not to worry about people using.
Yashvi and Levi appear, and Paul storms over to demand Harlow's release. He threatens to set his solicitor on them, but Levi reveals that Harlow has already called Toadie to represent her!
PAUL (sarcastic): Brilliant!
TERESE: Paul, I am sure he is gonna look after her.
PAUL: Oh, yeah, like everybody else who ends up in jail on his watch, hey?
Yashvi tells them there's obviously been a huge misunderstanding; as soon as they sort it out, Harlow will be set free. But Levi can't believe he's hearing this, and calls Yashvi over for a private chat.
LEVI: You know how serious these charges are.
YASHVI: I also know Harlow.
LEVI: Hot tip, rookie - focus on the evidence, not what you think you know. And don't make promises that you can't keep.
Erinsborough Police Station
Harlow is talking through her situation with Toadie. He explains that the amount of drugs she was found with is indictable, meaning she could end up with up to 15 years in prison. She's distraught, saying she just made a stupid mistake.
HARLOW: I don't do drugs. I don't even take anything for a headache!
TOADIE: It's not me you have to try to convince.
Toadie asks if Harlow has any idea which of the partygoers the drugs belonged to, but she doesn't. Harlow wants to go home, but...
TOADIE: Because of the seriousness of the charges, they want to hold you overnight.
HARLOW: (...) Are they even allowed to do that?
TOADIE: Unfortunately, they are. I'm sorry.
He tells her to hold tight while the police interview everyone from the party, and hope they find something out.
HARLOW: This can't be happening right now.

In the garden, an upset Roxy is telling Kyle about Harlow's arrest. She's still feeling guilty for telling Harlow not to worry about the drugs. Kyle assures Roxy it's not her fault, and that Levi will sort out the mix-up. But Roxy says Levi was the one who pressed for the arrest. Kyle is surprised, but says he will just have been doing his job.
ROXY: Meanwhile, she sits in a cell alone. It would terrify me; I wonder what it's doing to her?
Sheila emerges from the house, and is surprised to find Kyle is home from The 82 early. She blames Roxy for dragging him away, and starts implying Roxy is irresponsible and always attracting trouble for other people.
ROXY: You're right. I'm sorry.
KYLE: No, you're not right, Gran! You come storming in here, and you don't even know what you're talking about.
SHEILA: Excuse me?
KYLE: I don't have to explain anything to you if you're not gonna listen. Let's go, Rox.
Kyle and Roxy walk off. Sheila looks annoyed.
The Waterhole
Pierce and Hendrix are at a table. Hendrix is calling round his friends asking if they know anything about who brought the drugs to the party. He slams his phone down.
HENDRIX: All my friends are losers.
He's feeling guilty, too; Harlow organised the party for him, and now she has to spend a night in a cell on her birthday. Pierce assures him it will be sorted. Paul storms in and starts tearing strips off Hendrix, saying he hopes him and his 'druggie mates' had a good time. Pierce tries to get him to calm down, but Paul is furious.
PAUL: Harlow has had a hard enough day thinking about her mum. And now she could end up with a criminal record.
PIERCE: (...) None of this is on Hendrix.
Paul reminds them how Hendrix crashed and trashed Sheila's birthday party when he first arrived. Pierce defends Hendrix, saying he didn't even know the drugs were at the party. Paul is sceptical.
PIERCE: I'm warning you, Paul - back off.
PAUL (to Hendrix): You'd just better hope that this turns out alright.
Paul stalks off. Pierce tells Hendrix it's not his fault; he has his back.
Erinsborough Police Station
Yashvi brings Harlow some food, and tells her her cell will be ready soon!
HARLOW: Thanks. I guess.
YASHVI: It's not ideal, but at least you'll have somewhere to lie down... I'm really sorry, Harlow, that I had to...
HARLOW: Arrest me? It's cool, you can say it - you're a police officer.
YASHVI: I feel terrible.
HARLOW: No, you were just doing your job. Just please tell me one thing - you don't think I was actually dealing drugs?
YASHVI: No, of course not. And I'm going to prove it. I mean it, Harlow - we have the name and number of everyone there, and we're gonna question every single person. I won't stop until I find out who stashed those drugs. I promise.
No 22
Yashvi is with Ned, who is assuring her that she didn't do the wrong thing. Yashvi doesn't feel so sure.
YASHVI: I didn't sign up for this.
NED: You signed up to do a job. And you did it, alright? You don't make the rules.
YASHVI: Harlow didn't do this.
NED: I know she didn't. But you beating yourself up about arresting her isn't gonna help either of you.
YASHVI: Maybe.
NED: Definitely.
He suggests they watch a movie, but she wants to talk through the events of the party again, to see if they can think of something they haven't picked up on.
No 26
The following morning, Sheila, Kyle and Levi are in the garden, discussing Harlow over breakfast. Sheila declares Harlow 'as innocent as a cloistered nun', but Levi won't be drawn.
LEVI: The law doesn't operate on opinions. It operates on evidence.
Sheila tells Levi he seems 'shirty', and asks if he's had enough sleep. He insists he's fine, and heads off to work. Kyle says he's going to go and see Roxy before work. Sheila asks him to apologise to Roxy for her for 'jumping to conclusions' last night; she didn't know what had happened at the party when she accused Roxy of causing trouble.
KYLE: Yeah, that was my point exactly, Gran.
SHEILA: Yeah, well, I get that now. But to be honest, it is Roxy that we're talking about.
KYLE: And what's that supposed to mean?
SHEILA: Well, you can't totally blame me for assuming the worst. I mean, you two are at completely different stages of your lives. And that can spell trouble.
KYLE: That's your apology? (...) You know what, Gran? All I'm asking you to do is make a tiny effort. You and Roxy were mates before we hooked up.
SHEILA: Yeah, and I still really like the girl.
KYLE: She told me you don't roster her on with you anymore.
SHEILA: Yeah, well, I think that's for the best right now.
KYLE: Oh, come on, Gran! I mean, how can you butt out of Levi's life for ten years, but you can't butt out of mine for ten minutes?
SHEILA: I love you both - you and Levi. And... I let both of you get hurt before, and I'm not gonna let that happen again.
KYLE: What are you talking about?
SHEILA: I'm just saying that I've seen you heartbroken so many times in the past. And there were times, too, when I should've been there for Levi, and I wasn't. And so now, I'm gonna fix things.
KYLE: Fine. Can you fix things with Roxy, too? Cos that would mean a lot to me.
Kyle walks off.
Lassiter's Complex
Sergeant Dax Braddock comes out of the police station, and Paul and Terese ask him for an update on Harlow. Dax says she's being released, pending an investigation - she's not been formally charged, but has been advised to stay in the area.
Harlow comes out of the station with Roxy, and Paul goes over to join them. He quickly starts moaning about Hendrix's mates again, but Harlow tells him to give it a rest - she really doesn't need the aggro right now.
Meanwhile, Dax tells Terese that Harlow had a 'comfortable night, all things considered'.
DAX: We've worked hard on our relationship with Lassiter's, and, well, the whole community lately. It's just... I am sorry for the circumstances.
TERESE: Yeah. Well, I appreciate you saying that.
Paul is still rambling on to Roxy and Harlow about what he'll do when he finds out who's responsible for the drugs - blah, blah, blah. Roxy assures Harlow she's here for her.
No 22 / Lassiter's
Paul and Terese are back home, and Paul is feeling powerless to help Harlow. Chloe calls - she's in the office at the hotel with Pierce, and a protracted speakerphone conversation ensues, in which Chloe and Pierce asks how Harlow's doing. Terese silently encourages Paul to clear the air with Pierce, and Paul admits he shouldn't have flown off the handle at Hendrix last night.
PAUL: But you know, I am worried about my granddaughter. And I'm sure you wouldn't be happy if you were in the same situation.
PIERCE: Well, actually, my concern would be for my son, not finding the first person to blame.
But Chloe quietly hints that Pierce should take Paul's semi-apology in the spirit in which Terese intended it! So Pierce thanks Paul, who then heads outside. Terese tells Pierce and Chloe that Paul's just frustrated by the situation, and that Toadie thinks Harlow will probably be charged because of the amount of drugs found.
Chloe suggests Yashvi should be able to put in a good word for Harlow with the police, but Terese is sceptical as she's a new recruit. Pierce wonders if talking to Dax Braddock would help, saying he's always worked well with them when police have been needed at the hotel.
TERESE: Dax and his wife do have monthly appointments at the Day Spa. And we do get along.
She decides it wouldn't hurt to ask him about it.
Lassiter's Complex
Yashvi and Levi come out of Harold's with coffees; she's teasing him for having 'actual cream' in his. He explains he sometimes has butter in coffee at home - it's because of his keto diet. Levi asks how Yashvi is doing with questioning the witnesses from the party, but she says she's hit a brick wall - no one's given her any leads. Levi thinks this means they could have the right person.
YASHVI: We haven't. Why do you have to keep saying that?
LEVI: Because that's what the evidence says. Why do you get so worked up about it?
YASHVI: Because I promised Harlow that I'd fix this.
LEVI: So you've made another promise you don't know you can keep? (...) Don't let work become personal. You need to keep a distance. If you go at all your cases like this, you're gonna burn yourself out before you've even started.
YASHVI: Bit hard not to make it personal when I've just arrested my best friend.
Levi gets a message from 'the sarge' (Dax, presumably). The forensics are in from the bag of drugs, and Harlow's fingerprints are the only ones on them. Yashvi looks worried.
Shortly afterwards, Terese is chatting to Dax outside the police station. She asks if he has kids; he says he has two boys, hence a lot of testosterone in the house at the moment.
TERESE: Harlow's a good kid, Dax. She lost her mum a few months ago, and she really doesn't deserve to be punished for something that she didn't do.
DAX: You know I can't comment on it.
TERESE: No, I know. I'm not asking you to. I just... I just was wondering if there's any way we can avoid charges being laid. Look, please tell me if I'm overstepping. I just... I thought it was worth a try.
DAX: Well, it's not entirely up to me, so...
TERESE: I know, but your authority carries weight. It would mean the world to my family. Paul and I would be in your debt.
DAX: Let me see what I can do, okay?
TERESE: Thank you - thank you.
Dax walks off, and Terese heads over to talk to Pierce and Chloe. She says it's hard to tell whether her chat with Dax achieved anything, but at least she tried.
The Waterhole
Harlow and Hendrix come in for a feed, and find Yashvi sitting at a table working. Yashvi asks how Harlow's doing, and says working on her case is her top priority. Harlow asks if there's any news on it, but Yashvi isn't allowed to say anything, despite Hendrix suggesting she ought to, as Harlow's close friend.
YASHVI: But I'm trying my absolute best, I promise you that.
The 82
Kyle waits while Roxy leaves a voicemail message for Harlow. She explains she's helping out at the tram, but for Harlow to call her if she needs anything or 'gets sick of Hendo'. As Roxy finishes the message, Sheila emerges from the tram, Kyle having asked for her help, too. It transpires Kyle has set this up and is now leaving, so that Roxy and Sheila will have to spend time together. Yawn.
As Kyle leaves, Roxy tells Sheila she'll hold the fort alone if she wants. But Sheila thinks they should both stay.
SHEILA: You can look after the pie warmer, and I'll deliver the drinks.
ROXY: Sure. So you can get all the tips.
SHEILA: No! Look, suit yourself - I'll man the pies.
The Waterhole
Harlow is joined by Paul and Terese, and they all discuss how there is no news from the police. Paul sees Yashvi at the bar, and goes over to try and get more information out of her. Paul accuses Yashvi of having a 'leisurely lunch' while she should be helping Harlow. Yashvi assures him they're doing the best they can.
Paul takes a phone call from Toadie, who has good news - the police have announced they are not charging Harlow. Paul and Harlow are delighted, but Yashvi looks surprised; it's the first she's heard of it.
The 82
Sheila moans at Roxy for taking too long to serve customers. Roxy explains she's stressed about Harlow, and has been dealing with a difficult customer who told her she'd be prettier if she smiled more. Sheila is only mildly sympathetic.
Roxy gets a text from Harlow saying she isn't being charged. Sheila is pleased, and says Roxy should take a break and give Harlow a call.
ROXY: Sheila... You did used to like me, right? Or at least, you thought I was okay?
SHEILA: Of course I did.
ROXY: Why can't we go back to that? I haven't changed.
SHEILA: I know you haven't. You're a good person and a good worker, but emotionally, you're all over the shop, and that's not what Kyle needs right now.
ROXY: Isn't that his decision to make?
SHEILA: It is. And I can't stop you two being together, but I don't have to like it.
The Waterhole
Paul and Terese are with Harlow. Terese has to go and take a call. Paul wants them to have lunch together, but Harlow would rather go and celebrate her lack of police charges with Hendrix.
HARLOW: You know, the guy that you've been unfairly berating? Also, feel free to apologise to him.
Harlow leaves, and Terese rejoins Paul. The call was from the Day Spa at the hotel.
TERESE: They had Kerryn, Sergeant Braddock's wife, in for a treatment. And apparently she's under the impression that it's complimentary.
PAUL: Well, did you organise a freebie for her?
TERESE: No. But she said that Dax and myself had arranged it.
At this point, Kerryn Braddock herself walks in.
KERRYN: Terese! You're a gem, thanks!
TERESE: Of course!
Once she's gone...
TERESE: Paul - I think I might've accidentally bribed a police sergeant!
