Paige comes in, having forgotten her keys.
TERESE: There's something I need to tell you. And you might not like it (...) Jack called (...) He's really concerned about you.
PAIGE: That's the first I've heard of it! Whatever's going on with him, he doesn't seem to care how it's affecting me.
TERESE: Well, actually, he's catching the first flight down.
Terese explains that Paige and Jack's son Gabe is staying with Paige's parents Brad and Lauren. Terese admits she told Jack that Paige thought he was having an affair.
PAIGE: Well, if that's what it takes to get him to finally open up... Did he deny it?
TERESE: It's really up to him to tell you.
Harold's Café
Aaron and Mark are having a coffee. Aaron's all excited for his trip to the Sydney Mardi Gras, but can tell Mark is distracted, guessing correctly that he's worrying about Paige since he heard about her relationship troubles. Mark admits he wishes Paige could've talked to him about it.
At this moment, Paige comes in; she'd been meaning to meet Ned, but he's Not In This Episode™ so she decided she needed some time on her own instead.
MARK: You know if you need to talk about anything, I'm here, right? We're both here.
PAIGE: ... Roxy blabbed, didn't she?
MARK: I did hear that you and Jack were having some issues.
PAIGE: Issues? You make it sound so neat and tidy.
She tells Mark and Aaron that Jack is on his way to Erinsborough, and admits things haven't been good between them for a while. Mark says at least Jack's ready to talk, so Paige should get a resolution. He touches her arm supportively. Paige thanks him, and leaves. Aaron gives Mark a look.
Ramsay Street
Pierce and Hendrix are out for a run. Pierce asks how Hendrix is feeling about Clementine's death.
HENDRIX: There's not much to say, really.
PIERCE: I get it. It still sucks, though.
HENDRIX: She was just a cat.
PIERCE: She was *your* cat.
They're about to set off running, when Harlow appears, on her way to school. Both Harlow and Hendrix are uncomfortable when they see each other and lost for words, until Harlow does a U-turn and walks in the other direction! Hendrix jogs off the opposite way. Pierce looks bemused!

Sheila is moaning to Kyle about how the house was left unattended while she was away, since Gary's decided to swan off to 'god knows where'. Kyle explains that the debacle with Dipi is part of the reason Gary left; he wanted to give her and Shane some space to sort things out.
SHEILA: So he just decided to jump on a plane?
KYLE: Yeah, there was a good deal going on in Thailand (...)
SHEILA: I thought you said he went to Bali?
KYLE: Right. Yeah. Must've got that mixed up.
SHEILA: So, where is he?
KYLE: Thailand. Hanoi.
SHEILA: That's in Vietnam.
KYLE: ... Bali?
SHEILA: Look, if you've got something to tell me, now would be a really good time, before it spirals into disaster.
KYLE: Nah, all good. No disasters.
SHEILA: If your father has got himself into trouble again -
KYLE: Gran! I swear, he's fine.

Jack arrives, and gives Terese a hug - she welcomes him in, explaining Paige isn't here.
TERESE: She was a little thrown when I told her you were coming down, so she went out to clear her head.
JACK: Well, I guess it's only fair. I have been making things difficult for months.
TERESE: Well, it can't have been easy for you, either.
JACK: No, but I owe her the truth.
TERESE: At least you'll have it off your conscience.
Terese offers Jack a drink, but he says there's someone else he wants to catch up with first, since Paige isn't here.
TERESE: A friend?
JACK: ... Yeah. Just meeting them at Harold's. I won't be long.
Lassiter's Complex
Ned and Yashvi are at a table outside Harold's.
NED: Maybe we should have a safe word.
YASHVI: We do.
NED: Not for us. For your job.
Yashvi suggests 'frog' as the safe word, but Ned thinks that's a bit...
YASHVI: Ridiculous? Like this whole conversation?
Shane and Toadie come out of Harold's; they've been picking up supplies for a home brewing session they have planned for the day. Shane explains the last lot they did was too sweet.
TOADIE: It's meant to be - it's Anzac biscuit-inspired!
Shane wants to stick to the original recipe, but Clancy has eaten the recipe book. Yashvi reminds them that Ned was there last time they brewed; he could help them make it.
SHANE: Uh... nah. This is more of a man.... uh, brother thing.
NED: Yeah, they don't need me hanging around.
As Toadie and Shane walk off, Toadie quietly suggests to Shane that they maybe should invite Ned. But Shane's still annoyed with him for putting everyone's lives in danger.
TOADIE: He's not going anywhere - Vee's clearly mad about him. Perhaps it's time to forgive and forget.
Shane looks unconvinced.
Harold's Café
Jack turns up for his meeting - it's with none other than former Ramsay Street resident Mark Gottlieb!
JACK: Sorry it was such short notice.
MARK G: No, no - it's great to finally meet you! Hey, you want to hear something really funny? I used to own this place.
JACK: The café? Seriously?
MARK G: A long time ago. Back then it was called The Holy Roll.
JACK: Well, I know you used to live locally, but that's taking it to a whole other level.
MARK G: It's great to see the place still going strong! But we're not here for a trip down memory lane.
He puts a hand on Jack's shoulder.
MARK G: How are you?
JACK: ... Not great. I don't know how I'm gonna tell her. I really need your help.

Shane and Toadie have arrived to start their brewing operation at the 'Doug-Out'; Kyle can't stay, but tells them they can use whatever they need. Toadie promises him some of the beer as thanks, and Kyle heads off. Shane's sulking because he's agreed to invite Ned, but isn't really looking forward to having to spend time with him. Ned and Yashvi arrive.
NED (quietly): If they find my body, your dad poisoned me!
YASHVI: If he did, they wouldn't find your body.
Ned looks worried, but Yashvi laughs and tells him to relax, and to try to be nice. She announces to the trio that she'll leave them to their 'male bonding time', telling Toadie, 'make sure they play nice'.
TOADIE: I'm not a miracle-worker.
SHANE: And I'm not a baby.
YASHVI: Good. I expect my boyfriend back in one piece, then.
Ned looks worried as Yashvi leaves.
Ramsay Street
Aaron and Mark Brennan discuss whether Paige and Jack will get over their relationship troubles; Mark admits Paige almost seemed resigned to the idea that they wouldn't.
AARON: This is hard for you, isn't it? Seeing her struggle?
MARK B: Mate, I just want Paige and Gabe to be happy.
AARON: Really?
MARK B: Yes.
AARON: And that's all?
MARK B: Yes!
AARON: Because I could've sworn I saw something between you two earlier.
MARK B: Mate, I can see what you're doing, okay? And this isn't some kind of second-chance situation, if that's what you're alluding to.
AARON: No, you're right - it's third chance for you guys, right? No, wait - fourth chance!
But Mark B reminds Aaron that Paige and Jack have a family together, and every reason to try and work things out.
MARK B: Besides, I just don't see that in my life anymore.
AARON: 'That'? What's 'that'?
MARK B: Marriage, kids.
AARON: Really? So you're just gonna give up on having a family?
MARK B: Well, sometimes you just have to accept that you can't have everything in life.
AARON: Mark, you're not even forty! (...) Seriously, you're responsible, you've got a great job. I mean, you're handsome - you love kids. You're a catch, Mark!
MARK B: Mate, it's not like I haven't tried! I just don't see it happening for me, okay? So I would rather accept that, than mope around like a sorry sack.

Kyle turns up for a secret chat with Terese; Gary is landing in Australia in about an hour.
TERESE: Did he say anything about Prue?
KYLE: Nope.
TERESE: I've been asking for updates for days now, and he just keeps telling me that he'll tell me when he gets home.
KYLE: Yeah, he's being super-cagey.
Kyle says Sheila knows something's up, and Terese thanks him for covering with her.
TERESE: I just didn't want Harlow getting her hopes up for no reason.
At this point Harlow comes in; she hasn't overheard what they've been discussing, so Terese makes an excuse as to why Kyle's here.
HARLOW: How's your dad?
KYLE: Bali.
HARLOW: Uh... excuse me?
At this point, Paige comes in, and asks if Jack's here. Terese tells her he's decided to catch up with a friend, as Paige wasn't around. Kyle and Harlow leave, and Paige asks if Jack says who the friend was.
TERESE: No.
PAIGE: But he had to rush off and meet them the moment he landed?
TERESE: Paige, please don't jump to any conclusions.
PAIGE: Terese, you have to tell me what's going on. Is there someone else? Is that what he came here to tell me?
TERESE: I can't... But I'm sure he'll be back from Harold's soon.
Paige isn't willing to wait around, however, and decides to go and find out for herself.
Harold's Café
Mark Gottlieb and Jack have finished their chat. Mark G says Jack can call him tonight if he needs to; he understands that breaking the news to Paige will be tough.
JACK: It's a pity we didn't know each other when I was living in Erinsborough.
MARK G: The important thing is, we know each other now. You're doing the right thing.
Mark G gives Jack a hug, just as Paige walks in.
PAIGE: Jack?
JACK: Paige... hi.
PAIGE: This is who you rushed off to meet?
JACK: Mark's... Mark's a friend.
PAIGE: And how come Jack has never mentioned you, Mark?
MARK G: We met online not too long ago.
PAIGE: This is who you've been speaking to for months?
JACK: (nods)
PAIGE: You're gay?
JACK: What?! No! Mark has been counselling me.
MARK G: I think I'm gonna leave you two to talk.
Mark G leaves.
JACK: Look, this isn't exactly the best place for this conversation.
PAIGE: I don't care. I want the truth. Why has Mark been counselling you?
JACK: We met in a Christian forum.
PAIGE: Uh-huh...
JACK: And I've been struggling, for months now. And Mark's helped me realise that... I'm not being fair to you. You know, living a half-life.
PAIGE: So... what are you saying? You want to end things?
JACK: ... I want to go back to the priesthood.
Lassiter's Complex
Hendrix is telling Pierce about almost kissing Harlow, and her sneezing on him. Pierce laughs.
HENDRIX: This isn't funny, Dad!
PIERCE: Well, I'm sorry, but it kind of is! Since when did you and Harlow get on?
HENDRIX: Never! We don't. She's the worst, but... I can't stop thinking about her.
PIERCE: In a good way?
HENDRIX: (sighs)
PIERCE: Does she feel the same?
HENDRIX: I dunno. She leaned in, too; if she hadn't have sneezed, then... Nothing's ever easy with Harlow.
PIERCE: Easy's boring, alright? Ask her out on a date.
HENDRIX: What?! No - no, no, no. Not gonna happen.
PIERCE: Why?
HENDRIX: Well, because, then she'd know... that I like her.
PIERCE (sarcastic): Yeah, you're right. You're probably just better to leave it (!)
Pierce tells his son that if he wants to know, sometimes it's best just to ask. But Hendrix looks unconvinced.
Harold's Café
Jack tells Paige he misses helping people from his days as a priest, and...
JACK: ... the sense of purpose and meaning that my work in the priesthood gave me.
PAIGE: Gabe and I don't give you purpose?
JACK: Of course you do. But I feel like I should be doing more.
PAIGE: I thought you were having an affair.
JACK: I'm so sorry. You can yell at me if you want. I can take it.
PAIGE: I don't want to yell at you.
JACK: I will never regret loving you, or having Gabe.
PAIGE: I love you, too. But it's different now.
They smile at one another sadly, in mutual acknowledgement that their relationship has ended.
The Waterhole
Pierce and Hendrix are at the bar. Harlow is working at a table nearby, and Pierce encourages Hendrix to go and talk to her. Hendrix refuses.
PIERCE: Well, then, I'll just invite Harlow to join us, then!
HENDRIX: Don't you dare, Dad... Alright, I'll go.
PIERCE: You go get her, tiger.
HENDRIX: Stop - stop talking. Please.
Hendrix goes over to join Harlow, and makes awkward conversation; she's working on a history essay.
HARLOW: So, did you want something?
HENDRIX: Uh, your hair looks nice...
HARLOW: Err, sorry?
HENDRIX: I mean... your hair looks healthy, yeah. What shampoo do you use? I need to switch.
HARLOW (bemused): I'm not too sure. Terese buys it.
HENDRIX: Cool. Yeah, I'll, umm... I'll ask her, then... I'd better get back to my dad.
The excruciating conversation thus concluded, Hendrix rejoins Pierce.
HENDRIX: I burned. Can we get out of here before I break out into poetry and completely humiliate myself, please?
Hendrix and Pierce leaves. Harlow watches them go, and smiles to herself.

Ned and Shane are carrying a pan of beer out towards the Doug-Out, where Toadie is waiting. Shane and Ned disagree on the kind of beer they should brew next, and then a load of the beer slops over the side of the pan.
SHANE: Oi, careful!
NED: It was an accident.
SHANE: Yeah, they seem to happen around you a lot, don't they, mate?
NED: Oh, yeah, cos you're so perfect (!)
TOADIE: Alright, time out, you two. Let's just get through the bottling.

Kyle comes in with Gary, having picked him up from the airport.
SHEILA: Oh, so the mysterious traveller returns! (...) How was Bali... or Thailand?
GARY: ... Yeah, umm, Bali was great. Yeah, it was just great to, you know, kick back and relax.
SHEILA: So, that's why you got such a great tan (!) Oh, come on, Gary - you're whiter than a polar bear in a snowstorm!
GARY: Well, yeah, the cricket was on. I hardly left my room.
SHEILA: If you don't want to tell me, you know I will find out eventually.
GARY: Alright, Mum. I didn't go to Bali. I didn't want Harlow to find out I went to London, until I came back with some news. And let's face it - you're not great at keeping secrets.
SHEILA: And what has Harlow got to do with you flying off at the drop of a hat? Hm?
The Waterhole
Terese has joined Paige and Jack, and is hugging them both. It appears they're telling her what's gone on between them, but our perspective is that of Aaron and Mark Brennan, who are perched on a nearby table. Aaron thinks it looks as if Jack and Paige have sorted out their problems; but when they come over to say hello, all becomes clear. Jack says he's flying home in a few hours.
PAIGE: Jack and I have broken up.
JACK: Yeah. After a lot of soul-searching, I've decided to join the priesthood again.
PAIGE: We gave it our best shot. But some things just aren't meant to be.
AARON: Hold on - is this possibly the chill-est breakup in the history of the world?
PAIGE: It's something that we've both wanted. And it's easier when you both agree on something.
Mark B invites them to join him and Aaron for a drink until it's time for Jack to fly out, and Aaron and Paige go to the bar.
MARK B: So, that must've been a hard decision, giving up someone like Paige?
JACK: Yes, the hardest of my life. But, you know, she deserves someone who's gonna be a hundred percent committed to her.
At this point, the other Mark - Mark Gottlieb - turns up.
JACK: Mark, meet Mark!
Following their intro, Mark B heads to help at the bar, leaving Mark G to talk to Jack. Jack explains to him that Paige was very understanding of his decision, but that he still feels like he's letting her down.
MARK G: Take it from someone who's been there - you have to find the right way to bring faith into your life. And sometimes, getting the balance right can be really difficult.
JACK: Yeah, that's a good way to put it, because the balance has definitely been out lately.
MARK G: And how does it feel now?
JACK: Good.
MARK G: The beginning of a new chapter.
JACK: Yeah. For all of us.

Toadie sarcastically remarks at how little fun it's been making beer with Shane and Ned, as he packs up the last box of bottles and walks away.
SHANE: Ned, look, err... I'm sorry about before. I didn't invite you over to have a go at you, believe it or not.
NED: You've had a problem with me ever since Vee and I started dating.
SHANE: Well, I've been trying to make an effort for her sake. But maybe we could just agree to stay out of each other's way - and fake it when we have to.
NED: On one condition - you stop asking Vee to dump me.
SHANE: Nah, look, I'm sorry, mate. I'm not gonna stop looking out for my daughter's best interests.
NED: You might think that Vee's better off without me. But she feels differently.
SHANE: Okay. Give it time.
NED: I am right for Vee. And you're gonna see that eventually, cos I'm gonna prove you're wrong. Maybe then you can be happy for us.
At this point, Yashvi arrives.
YASHVI: Both in one piece, no visible injuries... Seems like a good start to me.
Ned acts like all's okay, saying they are 'fine'. Shane looks uncomfortable as Yashvi and Ned kiss.

Gary is telling Terese about what happened with Prue in London; it seems she's left the Restoration Order for real this time.
GARY: Prue could see what was happening there; she was already thinking about leaving.
TERESE: She's definitely out of the Order?
GARY: Oh, yeah - one hundred per cent! I mean, she's burned all of her bridges.
TERESE: Paul doesn't want her to have anything to do with Harlow.
GARY: Yeah, that's not really Paul's call - she is her mum.
TERESE: I'll have to talk to him.
Harlow comes downstairs, and tells Terese and Gary that Prue has finally texted her, after months of not responding to her emails. The text just says, 'Surprise. Big news.'
HARLOW: I mean, what does that even mean?
GARY: ...
HARLOW: Have you heard from her? Do you know?
GARY: Yeah. She's, umm, left the Order.
HARLOW: Oh, well - good for her (!) I'll give her five minutes before she latches onto the next thing. So you finally managed to speak to her.
GARY: Yeah. And I went to London. I helped her leave.
HARLOW: Alright, well, that changes nothing. She made it very clear what her priorities were.
GARY: Well, it might not be that simple. She wants to make things right with you; she's coming here next week.
HARLOW: ... I want nothing to do with that woman.
