Number 28 (backyard)
Susan is struggling to get her head around Elly's admission adding in that "Bea would be devastated if she knew." Elly pleads that she "didn't want any of this" and that they'd "never do anything to hurt Bea."
ELLY: We have been trying to keep our distance.
SUSAN: You are kidding yourselves! You need to face up to what is really going on here.
Finn arrives in the backyard having successfully got Aster down to sleep and tries to make it clear that he was the one that started things, not Elly.
SUSAN: I am not naive Finn; you are both responsible for what I saw.
FINN: No, I mean Elly's been trying everything to stay away from me. Please don't blame her for any of this.
SUSAN: I'm not interested in who to blame, I'm interested in what you're going to do about it.
ELLY: I cannot tell Bea or anyone else.
Looking directly into Finn's eyes, Susan asks if he still loves Bea? "Yes," he almost hesitantly replies back, so she warns him that he cannot hurt Bea.
SUSAN: You need to find a way to manage this... both of you!
ELLY: We will, I promise.
Hospital (outdoor café)
The good news is that David has got the all clear to be discharged from hospital, but the bad news (as far as Paul is concerned) is that he plans to carry out his promise to visit Robert to thank him for his kidney donation. Paul desperately tries to talk him out of the visit, but David's mind is made up (and Harlow looks relived too!).
Number 28
After being on the end of Elly's wrath for waking Aster up by slamming a door, Hendrix is more than happy to grab his bedding and head to his new room to get away from her!
Finn comes in from inside and reassures Elly that he will come up with a plan to fix things, confident that Susan won't in the meantime tell Bea.
Talking of Bea, she arrives home to check up on things after Finn stood her up by missing their morning break and is pleased to see things are quiet in the household... which lasts all of a minute until bubs is screaming again thanks to Hendrix's loud music!
Hospital (exterior)
As they exit the hospital, Terese is trying to convince Paul to give Harlow his blessing to have a relationship with her father. Paul is sticking firmly to his guns, because he can "never ever forgive" Robert.
TERESE: But nobody is asking you to. It's just you haven't slept a wink since Robert came back into your life. Now look, he'll always have that connection with David, but if Harlow wants to keep seeing him, your anxiety's just going to get worse unless you find some way to be at peace with it.
(Later)
"Smell that fresh air!" David decrees after leaving hospital, ready for the car journey to see Robert. Aaron plans to use the journey to chat but is outvoted so that the trio will listen to the playlist Harlow has come up with. The trio are then surprised to hear Paul ask if there is space for him in the car, so instead Aaron throws Paul the car keys to enable him to have the house germ free for David to come home to.
Number 28
After joining his wife out in the garden, Karl asks if she knows why Hendrix bit his head off when he asked how the lad was setting into his new room? Susan has no idea and then we start to hear the conversation from inside the house after Finn obviously inadvertently left the baby monitor outside.
Inside the house, you could just about cut the atmosphere with a knife - Elly is very much on edge, and not because Bea is singing to her daughter!
Out in the garden, Karl thinks it's great that Bea is singing to her niece and that bubs has struck well to the family she's been born into, indeed he labels the trio as "the dream team."
Inside, Finn returns with cuppas and listens to Bea suggesting the trio do a rota to help Elly cope with the night time - while obviously Elly has to be up for the feeding, afterwards she and Finn would take turns to allow her to sleep. "You don't have to do that," Elly quietly replies but Bea is determined to help her sister out. "I appreciate the offer," Elly says but doesn't want her sister to burn out too.
Albury Super Maximum Prison
Dressed in green this time, Robert is led into the visiting room where his brother and daughter are sitting on the opposite side of the protective screen. Robert admits he "wasn't sure if this was ever going to happen again," and thanks Harlow for sticking to her promise. David explains that he was discharged earlier and came straight here to let Robert know that he is "forever grateful."
ROBERT: You've got Harlow to thank for that, she's the one that talked me into coming in for it.
DAVID: Even so, it was a huge sacrifice and I really appreciate it.
Harlow adds in that "the whole family does," and to almost reassure Robert that it is the truth, goes onto tell her dad that David can't drive so Paul drove. The lass then says that Paul would like to see him but isn't sure if he'll be welcomed.
Number 28
Hendrix heads outside to get away from Aster (he's more than over her already!) and receives Susan's wrath for not offering his help to Elly! After he heads off to empty the bins, Karl is somewhat bemused at Susan taking her wrath out on the lad and asks instead "what's going on?" "I'm a bit sleep deprived," is Susan's reply rather than the truth and pacifies Karl, when she admits that she shouldn't have snapped at the lad.
Albury Super Maximum Prison
Paul hesitantly walks along the long corridor to where the visiting area is and eventually entering the room where the trio are. Nobody acknowledges Paul's arrival, instead Robert asks how Elly is and David replies that both are well
ROBERT: About what I did to her, it was... I panicked. It was stupid.
DAVID: I'll let her know.
Robert than apologies for bailing before the first surgery too, but as David says, "it all turned out fine in the end."
DAVID: How we got here, isn't important to me.
Robert is then shocked to hear that Harlow does plan on visiting again (she wants to take him some books).
HARLOW: A promise is a promise.
ROBERT: I only have one problem with that... I bet you're into the classics?!
HARLOW: And just for that, you'll get a Henry James right off the bat!
The pair then start bantering over the books with Paul still silently watching from the back of the visiting room.
Number 32
Aaron is more than happy to welcome some visitors (Elly and Aster) to distract him from cleaning up the house! To aid her friend (and avoid going to meet Bea and Finn at Harold's) Elly volunteers to help Aaron ensure the house is germ free.
Harold's Café
Bea is still curious about her sister as she arrives at the café with Finn - first for the speed she hastily left the house but also for not being keen on her idea of the rota. Finn tries to explain that it's just Elly getting used to being a new mum and that Bea shouldn't read into it.
Finn then sends Bea outside to get a table but also so he can ask Toadie a "hypothetical legal question" - he is wondering if the court would give approval for Bea and himself to move out of #28. Toadie immediately replies "not possible," and is somewhat surprised at Finn even asking the question! "Where's all this coming from?" a confused Toadie asks and Finn replies that the house is pretty crowded what with Elly (and the baby) as well as Hendrix being in the house.
FINN: Are you sure we can't give it a shot?
TOADIE: Mate, I am 100% sure.
Indeed Toadie warns, that applying could put his whole release at risk and thus find himself being back in prison.
Albury Super Maximum Prison
Visiting time is almost up and Paul decides he now wants to talk to Robert, so asks David and Harlow to leave. The duo do, but not before Harlow tells her dad that she'll see him in a couple of weeks with a Henry James book!
Paul sits down and acknowledges that Robert seems to "care a lot about Harlow."
ROBERT: She's my daughter.
PAUL: Blood was never an indicator of your affection.
ROBERT: Is that what you came all this way to say?
PAUL: Why did you really come for me on Christmas day?
ROBERT: What did you think I did?
PAUL: Well Harlow seems to think it was because I went back on my promise, but you and I both know better.
Robert goes onto say he didn't come after Paul to hurt him, he wanted to talk.
PAUL: Now's your chance.
ROBERT: I've held onto a lot of anger towards you for most of my life. I know you felt the same way.
PAUL: Are you honestly sitting there reducing everything you've done to me in one pithy sentence?!
ROBERT: I'm not minimising it dad. I escaped to find you, to tell you that I'm letting go of all the anger. I'm doing it for Harlow. I want to be a better father to her than you were to me.
PAUL: That won't be too hard.
ROBERT: I want to be a part of her life dad.
PAUL: Well she's always going to be in mine, so...
ROBERT: I will too.
"Harlow obviously sees something in you that's good," Paul adds before standing up to exit the room. However, he pauses then turns back around towards Robert to say, "thank you."
PAUL:(emotionally) Thank you. Thank you for saving David's life.
Number 22
When Terese spots that Paul and Harlow are back, so wants to hear how the visit went. "I'm really proud of Grandad," Harlow says, almost to his surprise before adding that she loves him. "You too darling," he says on hugging her before the lass leaves the pair to chat.
TERESE: Did you get what you needed?
PAUL: I honestly don't know.
Number 28
Having got a kick up the pants earlier from Susan, Hendrix is all sweetness and light to Elly when she arrives home from #32 before heading to have a shower prior to dinner.
"Don't look at us," Finn replies to Elly's body language question of 'what just happened' and its Bea who says its actually "be nice to Elly day," and they obviously missed the memo!
Bea has been kind to her sister by doing all her washing and roping Susan into the nightshift rota too.
BEA: She's harder to say no to than I am, so just deal with it!
She also has a plan up her sleeves for when Elly gets a job too! Realising that it's a done deal, all Elly can say is "thanks."
When they are alone after Bea heads off to do her own washing, Elly asks Finn how Susan is going. "Touchy," is how Finn describes her even though she's not said much. Elly isn't happy at what their situation is doing to Susan and wants to know what the idea he mentioned earlier was, so he explains about his question to Toadie.
FINN: What else can we do Elly?
ELLY: I'm going to move out!
