- Terese says she understands that a young girl needs to be with her mother.
- Amy tells Kyle that the class action is affecting his health; he's barely sleeping or eating.
- Harlow tells Prue that she knows she's still in the The Order.
- Harlow tells Paul that Prue's left without her.
- Terese finishes off a bottle of wine. She then grabs her car keys.
- Aaron tells David that he's kept Ned's involvement in underground fighting from him.
- David is furious with Aaron and goes for a bike ride.
- David gets run over by a car on Power Road.
Terese stumbles towards the bottle shop which is now closed. As she turns towards the road she sees David's lifeless body on the ground. She rushes over to him and attempts to wake him but he's unresponsive. She runs to the phone box and calls an ambulance.
Paul walks downstairs in his dressing gown and asks Harlow if she's seen Terese, to which she replies that she hasn't. He asks what she's watching.
HARLOW: The Wicker Man.
PAUL: Interesting choice.
HARLOW: Yeah, well I felt like watching someone punch a cultist in the face. (laughs) But actually, it looks like the cult's gonna win. I mean at least it's realistic.
PAUL: You know your mum's not gonna be gone forever.
Harlow points out that she's never seen her mum this committed to anything before. Paul replies that just like any other cult it's bound to run its course. He then receives a phone call from an unknown number and to his surprise it's Terese.
Aaron is about to send a text to David which reads 'You've been gone for ages, I'm getting really worried'. Before it sends he receives a phone call from a private number.
AARON: Hello?...Yes, speaking...Sorry, what happened?
Aaron enters the waiting area in the hospital to be greeted by Paul who hugs him in his time of need. Paul explains that Terese was the one who found David injured but didn't see what happened. Karl walks in and Aaron tries to get some answers.
KARL: The surgeons are assessing the extent of his injuries now but...his organs have been impacted. He has a damaged kidney and some internal bleeding. We'll let you know more soon.
Paul gets frustrated by Karl saying they'll get more information 'soon'.
AARON: Karl, could he...die?
KARL: (hesitates) He's in the best possible place he could be right now.
Kyle and Amy are in a corridor in another part of the hospital. Amy begins to panic and Kyle's attempts to tell her that David will be ok just leave her irritated, saying he doesn't know what will happen.
AMY: What if something's wrong?
KYLE: Then we'll face it together.
AMY: Do you really think you're up for that?
KYLE: What's that supposed to mean?
AMY: It means if you can't even commit to spending time together how can I rely on you for something like this?!
Kyle continues to reassure her that he will be there and puts his arms round her in a loving embrace.
The next morning Aaron, Paul and Harlow are still waiting for news. When Karl enters, they soon get answers.
KARL: He lost a lot of blood so we had to do a transfusion and then they removed the damaged kidney so his body's experiencing a significant amount of shock. He'll be taken to ICU so he can be monitored personally.
Paul feels angry that nobody has come forward to admit they ran over David. Karl tells him that the police will arrive to take statements soon. Aaron heads off to find Amy and Kyle to tell them the news. Paul tells him to get himself a coffee before Terese finally arrives.
PAUL: Where have you been?
TERESE: There wasn't room in the ambulance so I had to wait for a cab.
PAUL: Hang on, you had your car with you...Where did you go anyway, why didn't you tell us that you were going out?
TERESE: I went to the bottle shop.
PAUL: Have you been drinking again?...Oh Terese, when did this start?
TERESE: ...Just a couple of weeks ago. I'm so sorry Paul, I thought I had it under control but it's been so hard lately.
Paul asks her if she got into the car after she'd been drinking and she sheepishly responds that she did. He looks triggered.
PAUL: Did you hit my son?
Erinsborough Hospital (exterior)
Terese is stunned by Paul's question but promises that she would have admitted straight away if she was the hit- and- run culprit. She explains that she'd run out of wine so drove to the bottle shop to get some more but would have been under the limit anyway. To avoid being caught by Paul or Harlow she drunk the alcohol in her car which she'd parked a few streets away. When she ran out again she headed back to the bottle shop to get some more to keep at home and saw David upon leaving the shop again.
TERESE: Please believe me.
HARLOW: I believe you. For whatever it's worth.
Harlow had been asleep in the background.
TERESE: How much did you hear?
TERESE: I've let you down...both of you, so much, but I didn't do this to David.
Paul nods. Karl enters with the police who are ready to take her statement. She wipes away her tears and heads off to talk to them.
Dipi walks in with some stuff to send to Kirsha, which Toadie offers to post. She's still frosty with him and Shane for supporting Kirsha's desire to leave though. Kyle knocks at the door and enters, telling the Rebecchis that David's been in an accident. As a result, he'll need to step back from the class action for a bit. Toadie is very understanding, telling him to take as long as he needs. As Kyle leaves, Dipi says she's going to make some food for Aaron. Shane suggests visiting David in hospital, but Toadie says without Kyle his workload will be through the roof.
Aaron anxiously watches over his injured husband. He bends down and kisses his hand.
Outside the hospital, Paul and Terese discuss the recent events. He apologises for accusing her of being the hit- and- run driver. She understands, saying it could easily have been her, admitting how ashamed she feels for drinking again. He hugs his wife an an attempt to comfort her. She asks him if he wants to go back up and see David again, but he's keen to let Aaron have some time alone with his husband.
PAUL: Terese, I've lost one son already, I don't want to lose another one...
Toadie ends a phone call to someone involved in the class action then immediately receives another call. Shane sees him getting stressed and offers to help but Dipi encourages him not to get involved. When Toadie accepts Shane's offer, Dipi looks disappointed.
DIPI: Puff, we shouldn't be getting involved. This class action affects our business.
Shane replies that Toadie needs the help now that Kyle has personal commitments. Her look of disappointment lingers.
Kyle and Amy are sitting near the entrance to the hospital talking about the accident. She can't believe that someone could run David over and just drive off. She receives a phone call from Liam and hopes that he might have been able to contact Leo. Toadie arrives to see Kyle as she walks outside.
TOADIE: I totally respect that you're off the case for a bit but I do need to speak you about Mr. and Mrs. McDonald's statement.
Kyle briefly looks over in Amy's direction, knowing that she'd be angry if she knew he was talking about the class action.
KYLE: Yeah, I can give you a minute...
Toadie says he's meeting with the McDonalds this afternoon but can't find their file anywhere. Kyle says that he's got a few files in a box at his and is happy to drop them off at Number 30 later. Amy catches the tail- end of the conversation as Toadie leaves. She looks annoyed.
AMY: What are you doing?
KYLE: Toadie just needed a quick word.
AMY: So this is what you meant when you said you were there for us?
AMY: You know what? If you wanna work, go and work. Honestly, I don't care anymore...
She storms off.
Elly arrives to see David. She asks Aaron how he is. He replies that David hasn't woken up yet but Karl told him that's normal.
AARON: We had a fight, that's why he was out riding so late. What happens if he dies because we were having an argument and I made him leave?
He starts shouting at the hospital staff in the corridor that he wants to know what's going on but Elly calms him down.
AARON: I don't know what to do Elly!
ELLY: You need to be strong for him.

Kyle finds Amy standing next to her ute and tells her that he's been looking for her. He says she didn't give him the chance to explain earlier; this morning he went to tell Toadie that he'd be taking a step back from the class action to focus on Amy and David after the accident, but he forgot to drop some files off to Toadie. Amy soon realizes she overreacted and apologises. He jokes that she's allowed to be a bit nutty right now, given her brother's in hospital. He suggests going for a drive as a change of scenery might do her some good and after initial reservations, she agrees. As they're about to get in the car, Amy notices some damage to the headlight.
AMY: hey, what happened here? This wasn't like this yesterday, what did you do to my ute?
Terese comes downstairs to be greeted by Harlow who is sitting at the dining table. She asks Terese if she's hungry and she replies that she's not - Harlow jokes that Roxy's left loads of washing up anyway. As Terese goes to clean up, she finds a bottle of alcohol that she forgot she'd hidden. She stands over the sink deliberating over pouring the wine down it. Harlow intervenes when she sees her struggling and pours it down the sink herself. She turns to her step- grandmother and tells her that something's been bothering her.
HARLOW: When mum left, she told you to trust in the process. What did she mean by that?
TERESE: It was just small talk Harlow.
HARLOW: They used to use that phrase in The Order when they were trying to heal or cleanse someone. Did she know about your drinking?
TERESE: (hesitates)...She caught me drinking.
Harlow is surprised that Prue kept Terese's drinking secret, thinking she would have been more likely to use it against her. Terese admits that Prue led her to believe that Harlow would be better off moving back to London with her mother. Harlow feels let down, thinking that Terese wanted her to leave.
TERESE: Harlow, please! Look, I'm sorry...

Kyle has just told Amy that he thinks he hit the curb last night but it doesn't add up, as the headlight is damaged. He suggests that he might have hit a bin but Amy seems confused by the fact that he doesn't know what happened.
AMY: How do you not know?
KYLE: Because I fell asleep.
AMY: At the wheel?
KYLE: Just for a second, like a microsecond. As soon as I hit the curb...I woke up.
AMY: And where did this happen?
KYLE: Power Road.
Amy looks shocked.
AMY: David was hit on Power Road.
KYLE: No way, it couldn't have been me, I would have seen him, I would have felt something.
He tells her that he stopped and checked the mirrors but didn't see anything. However, he admits that he didn't get out and check the road.
AMY: You were home an hour before Aaron got the call.
KYLE: Yeah, so it couldn't have been me.
AMY: Terese didn't know how long David had been lying there until she found him.
AMY: It was you, it had to have been you.
Shane drops a box off to Toadie and offers to go and collect the documents from Kyle's house. Toadie heads back into Rebecchi Law as Dipi approaches. She asks Shane if he can have a look at the coffee machine which has been dripping but he says he's busy helping Toadie out. He promises to have a look later that afternoon but she's not at all impressed. After he leaves, she enters Rebecchi Law and has it out with Toadie, telling him to hire a secretary if he needs one and not to take advantage of Shane. Toadie looks taken aback before she goes on to admit that the class action is not only affecting her business, but her marriage too.
Paul and Aaron are standing over David. Aaron tells Paul that David always used to say getting through the first night was the hardest part and now he's done that so maybe he'll be ok. The monitor goes off causing panic and doctors rush in. Paul and Aaron are made to go outside and they watch in shock as Karl performs CPR.
