Previously
- Terese planning on distancing herself from 'Scandalgate' as soon as possible.
- Kyle telling Amy about starting the class action against Lassiters.
- Terese secretly having some wine.
- Prue wanting what is best for Harlow - London and The Order.
- Kirsha thanking her parents as she heads off to Sydney.
- Prue pointing out to Harlow that Paul and Terese can look after themselves, not be their babysitter.
- Ned being introduced to fight club.
- Aaron pulling Ned off of a guy he's just beat.
As the titles begin today there is an update - Kirsha is gone and so there's a new shot of Shane, Dipi and Yashvi on the street. The one of Gary and Sheila has changed too - they are standing at the driveway of #26 now with Gary unwrapping the morning paper. The Susan and Karl shot has also updated (they've different clothes on) but they are still outside the pergola of #28.
Fight club
Aaron is trying to get through to Ned that he could have killed the guy, but he's not fully with it. Ned refuses to go to hospital (unlike his opponent) when Aaron suggests it but agrees to being taken home by his neighbour.
Number 22
Harlow and her mum are sitting on the sofa reading, reminiscing to something they occasionally did in London, but Harlow wants to know what the hidden agenda is. Prue explains that she is just trying to remind her daughter that they've got a life back in the UK too... and probably explains why they are sitting with blankets on their knees given its wintertime in the UK unlike the summertime in Australia!
"Your mum will always put you first," Prue subtly says to Harlow when she sort-of feels neglected after Paul and Terese come home totally peeved off at getting nowhere attempting to talk to the claimants.
Harold's Café
Dipi ignores Yashvi declaring her first day over, probably because it sounds more like a rant, in favour of looking at the photos she's been sent of Kirsha in Sydney. "You've got to stop stressing about Kirsh," Yashvi tells her mum but her reply is that she isn't stressing, simply misses her youngest daughter.
DIPI: Okay, even if I was stressing... I'm allowed to, I'm her mum, I can't just magically turn it off.
YASHVI: She's in good hands. Mishti picked her up from the airport, Gran's making her big biriyani. She's not a little girl anymore and that's why you let her go.
Dipi is still somewhat bitter at how she lost her little girl but Yashvi reminds her that "the most important thing is that Kirsha's happy."
Yashvi heads over to sit with Bea and Finn when they enter and there is only one topic of conversation - Ned. None of them have seen or heard from him, even though Yashvi isn't sure why everyone is suddenly worried, unlike her, but does agree to go check #22.
Number 22
With her coffee date with Paul cancelled (business reasons) Harlow heads out to the garden where Terese, hastily tries to shield what is exactly in her cup! The lass is after a chat with Terese about her mum but suddenly Terese remember she has an urgent errand to run, however promises to chat later with Harlow.
The Waterhole
Paul seems happy to chat with Harlow after she spots him in the bar (he's had enough of looking into the class action) however when she starts to talk to him about her mum, he suddenly spots Kyle at the bar and rushes over to him!
PAUL: Well, you're a piece of work aren't you?!
Paul isn't amused that the claimants aren't listening to his offers because of Toadie's advice. Kyle's comeback is that they'll get more money via the class action and confirms that Toadie will get a cut which will be used to save Sonya's foundation.
KYLE: The way I see it, everyone benefits.
Paul tries to warn him that equally they could lose, which will mean Toadie being saddled with the court costs. Kyle refuses to talk more about it without their lawyer's present, and Paul has a dig at him for supposedly knowing the law!
KYLE: Don't look like you're not packing it.
PAUL: I've had enough of this. This stupidity is giving me a headache!
Paul then adds that Harlow is waiting for him... except when he turns around the table is empty!
KYLE: Looks like she got sick of listening to you waffle on... who can blame her!
Number 32
Aaron hands Ned a bag of ice for his torso. Ned agrees that so far, he has been lucky that most of the hits has been to the body rather than his face. He then wonders if the other guy will be okay, acknowledging he "didn't meant to lose it like that." Aaron doesn't know but could ask David, however this freaks Ned out because he knows David will be forced to report it to the police and he's just finished his community service. "The cops are going to work it out," Aaron replies given the number of folks turning up at the hospital beaten up.
NED: I will stay away from Kane, I promise, but you cannot tell David. If the cops find out and they charge me, I will go to jail.
Number 22
Ned is chilling at home watching the TV when the rescue party (Bea, Finn and Yashvi) arrive trying to get him interested in going to the movies or the pub with them. Ned rejects their suggestions and tries his hardest to rid of them, but they are very stubborn and wear him down - everyone's going to hang out at #22 with some takeaway food.
Lassiters Lake
Given Paul and Terese have both brushed her off, Harlow is forced to have coffee with her mum as she tries to decide what to do - head back to London with her mum (which Prue wants) or stay in Erinsborough (which is likely what Paul and Terese would prefer if she can get 5 minutes to talk to them). The lass is after someone impartial to talk to, but then has a brainwave - calling a family meeting so everyone can discuss it.
Number 32
A very knackered David arrives home after a long day in the ER. He mentions to Aaron about a patient (the guy who Ned fought with) who he knows was involved in a fight despite what the patient claims! Aaron subtly asks if he will be okay (yes) but replies non-committedly when David asks if he thinks Ned is involved. As correctly predicted earlier, David mentions that the police are onto the fight club, so its days will be numbered and hopefully before anyone has "an unlucky hit" and its "game over."
Lassiters Complex
Paul replies back to Harlow that he will attend the family meeting. He is then distracted by Kyle putting up flyers about the class action... which last all of 5 seconds of being up before being ripped down by Paul!
Number 22
"Looks worse than it is," Ned replies after Finn spots his torso covered in bruises as he went to get his mobile out of his pocket. "I just did something stupid at the gym," is Ned's explanation, which the newly arrived Aaron backs up. The others aren't really buying his explanation though but decide to leave Ned to recuperate.
The Waterhole (veranda)
Prue and Harlow wait patiently for the others to arrive for the meeting, although Prue can't but help refer to everyone as "self-focused" given they are late for the meeting. "Please don't give me your spiritual insight right now," the lass begs and admits to her mum that she likes having folk around her "that I can depend on."
HARLOW: But now I feel like I've lost that.
Being honest, Prue admits that when she saw everyone together, she was "a teeny bit jealous" because they could offer Harlow the stability she couldn't offer. "You tried your best," Harlow says to her mum, but Prue isn't sure that she did, "but I'm here now and I want to do better for you."
PRUE: I just hope it's not too late.
HARLOW: It's not.
Number 22
Now they are alone, Aaron passes onto Ned the information David told him - that the police are involved and the guy he was fighting with is okay. Aaron confirms that he hasn't told David what really happened, "but I hated lying to him Ned."
AARON: Just like I hated lying to all of our friends just now.
Aaron isn't amused when Ned remarks that he was "the one that got yourself involved," and points out to Ned what could have happened had he not intervened. Turning the situation around, Aaron asks what if he were the one at the end of the doing instead?
AARON: None of those other guys would have helped. Look, Scarlett put you through hell Ned but the way you're choosing to deal with this, it's...it's extreme!
"This has nothing to do with her," Ned pleads but Aaron just wants him to admit that it was. "Because I feel like I'm going crazy," is his angry explanation back.
NED: What she did to me, she made me feel so powerless. You know but when I'm there, when I fight, I'm back in control.
AARON: Right, okay, then why don't you tell that to the guy you laid out!
NED: ...
AARON: Ned, you've gone through serious trauma. There's no shortcuts here, you have to get professional help.
NED: I don't think I can.
AARON: Well can you at least try, otherwise I'm going to have to tell David everything.
The Waterhole
Terese has turned up for the family meeting and incurs the wrath of Prue! "I had some errands to run," Terese tries to explain but it's not washing with Prue as she let Harlow down, something she's had enough folk doing to her in her life.
TERESE: Yes, no thanks to you!
PRUE: You hurt my daughter, so now it's up to me to make it right, not you!
TERESE: Is that so?!
PRUE: Yes, because I'm her mother. Surely you can understand the significance in that. So, if you don't mind, we'll just see you at home.
Lassiters Lake
"I'm not stalking you I swear," Yashvi tells Ned when they meet on the bridge in the middle of the lake. She apologises for the ambush earlier, they just wanted to make sure he was okay. Ned admits he wasn't for a while but thinks he is now "coming good." Yashvi is happy to hear that, given they will be working together but Ned zones out after he spots one of the locks on the bridge... a 'Scarlett and Ned together forever' one! Yashvi can see something is up, but he doesn't say anything about that, instead says that he will see her at work before walking off back the way he came.
Number 22
"So you prioritise a mad poster grab over Harlow's meeting," Terese comments after hearing Paul's excuse over why he missed the meeting. Terese is commenting on how the lass would have felt having nobody turn up when Harlow (and Prue) walk into the house. "I'm fine," Harlow tells them as they both then sincerely apologise for not turning up, but she now has their full attention.
HARLOW: I'm thinking of moving back to London with mum.
Both Paul and Terese are shell-shocked at the news, unlike Prue who has a smile wider than the Nullarbor Plain!
PAUL: You can't be serious.
PRUE: Well there's no guarantee that I can stay in the country long term, so with me not being here, Harlow's left to look after you when really you should be looking after her.
PAUL: Look, my legal issues are going to be short term. Everything's going to be back to normal soon.
PRUE: Until the next catastrophe.
PAUL: Harlow, if you stay, we promise we will do our best to be there for you in future, alright. But, it gets down to what you want.
HARLOW: That's what I'm not sure about. It's why I organised the meeting, but nobody showed. What does that tell me?
(Later)
After handing Terese a drink out in the back yard, Paul admits he didn't see Harlow's news coming. "It's a lot to take in," Terese acknowledges and Paul isn't ready to lose his newly arrived granddaughter from his life. "I know how you feel, she belongs here," Terese declares but then goes onto say that they haven't been giving the lass what she needs, so they "need to do better."
Paul is aghast at not turning up at the meeting, given what he spent the afternoon doing but Terese wants to draw a line under that and show Harlow that they are now here for her.
Terese then suggest Paul heads upstairs to bed saying a good night's sleep will do him wonders and she will be up later as she's a few things to do... which is first to empty out the water from her glass and replace it with a huge serve of wine from the bottle hidden in her handbag!
As she is beginning to savour the alcohol, Terese then spots someone watching her - Prue!
PRUE: I thought you were an alcoholic?
Coming up on Neighbours
