The 82
Ned is conscious following his fall; Scarlett rushes over to him. He asks if the biker was Rex, and where he went - but whoever it was is long gone. Ned's shoulder is hurt, and he suggests they leave in case the biker comes back. Scarlett wants to call an ambulance, but he insists it's just bruised. Scarlett helps him to his feet; he says she'll have to drive as he's too badly hurt.
SCARLETT: Ned - you saved my life.
NED: ... Let's just get out of here.
No 22
Paul and Terese are clearing up after dinner, wondering where Ned's got to. Scarlett and Ned come in. They're concerned to see that Ned is injured; Scarlett explains what happened, and Ned says Rex must've been the mystery motorcyclist who knocked him down. Terese wonders why they haven't gone to hospital; Ned was hoping to avoid it. Paul offers to have a look.
NED: Uh-uh. When did you get a medical degree?
PAUL: I think I might know a little about injured limbs.
Ned winces in pain as Paul removes his jacket. Terese immediately declares that he needs to go to hospital, as he could have broken bones. Paul asks why they haven't called the police; if Rex intended to run Scarlett down it's attempted murder.
SCARLETT: We don't have all the facts. For all we know, it could've been anyone. It could've been... Yashvi!
NED: Seriously?!
SCARLETT: I'm just giving that as an example. It may have been an accident.
NED: No way. There's no way this was an accident.
Paul says they should take Ned to hospital, and call the police on the way.
No 30
Toadie, Shane and Dipi are milling about, while Yashvi is on the phone to Harlow, arranging a study session for tomorrow morning. Once she's done, Yashvi goes to her room to revise. Toadie remarks that Harlow may have made Yashvi a fan of studying. Dipi and Shane explain that Yashvi is struggling to concentrate on her exam revision after her split with Ned.
TOADIE: Well, I suppose study is a better option than having a go at Ned at his workplace.
SHANE: Not that the guy doesn't deserve that.
Finn turns up, and suggests to Toadie that they should do some preparation for Shaun's Buddy Club for when he returns from Switzerland. Toadie reminds Finn he can't be involved directly, but Finn suggests he could help with the website. When Dipi comments that they can cost thousands to have designed, Finn asks if Toadie has any budget for it. He's not sure yet, as he's not done the tax return.
Dipi and Shane remark on this, reminding him that the return is due at the end of October.
TOADIE: I know. It's just... you know, Sonya used to deal with all of that. I thought I'd be able to handle two businesses, but when you throw in the charity as well, that's a completely new ball game.
Dipi advises Toadie to get an accountant. But Finn offers to help instead, saying he could read up on everything Toadie needed to know for tax purposes. Toadie is surprised, but thanks him, saying the Foundation can't turn down free help.
Erinsborough Hospital
In the waiting area, Paul is on the phone to the police, haranguing them for not having caught Rex after the brick incident and now not being available to look into the bike attack. He advises them that, since someone died, they should get someone here as soon as possible, and hangs up. Scarlett, who is sitting nearby with Terese, looks worried.
PAUL: I never thought I'd say it, but I actually miss Mark Brennan. At least he responds to calls.
SCARLETT: I don't really want to go over it all again anyway.
PAUL: So, how do you think Rex knew that you were there tonight?
SCARLETT: Must've followed us from Ramsay Street.
TERESE: What? He was watching our house?
SCARLETT: I guess.
At that moment, a nurse comes out of Ned's room, which is the cue for them all to go in and see him. Ned tells them his shoulder was dislocated, but not broken; they're keeping him in overnight for observation. Scarlett gets tearful, which she attributes to her relief that he's okay.
TERESE: We'll pick you up first thing in the morning.
SCARLETT: I think he should stay with me. Rex saw us together tonight, and he's the jealous type. I don't think he was just trying to hit me before.
NED: You think he's after me now?
SCARLETT: I dunno, but I don't wanna risk it. Plus, with the new alarm system, ours is the safest house on the street.
TERESE: I don't think Ned should be forced out of his own home.
SCARLETT: No, but I think we just need to stick together. Plus, Aaron and Kyle could scare him off better than you could.
TERESE: I think Roxy is more likely to scare somebody than the two of them combined.
Scarlett pointedly asks a suspicious-looking Paul what he thinks of the idea of Ned moving into No 32. Paul's noncommittal, saying it's up to Ned.
NED: It does sound safer. Plus, this way I can look after you.
SCARLETT: Then, it's sorted.
Lassiter's Complex
The next morning, Finn is talking to Bea about his newfound involvement in Toadie's charity tax affairs, which seem complicated. Bea asks if Finn needs her help, and Finn is keen on this idea. Bea says that the only thing she can bring to the table is snacks, as she's no good with numbers!
FINN: I'll take snacks. And a cheerleader too, to stop me from giving up.
As they approach the café, they find Yashvi at one of the outside tables, studying. Harlow turns up at the same time, and asks if they've all heard what happened to Ned.
YASHVI: Don't tell me if it involves Scarlett.
HARLOW: It involves Scarlett, but I still think you should know.
YASHVI: What, is she pregnant? Ugh, I don't want to know.
HARLOW: Her ex-boyfriend tried to run them both over - her and Ned. He's dislocated his shoulder and ended up in hospital (...) Ned's still there if you want to go and see him.
Yashvi isn't keen on going while Scarlett is still there, so Bea offers to go and check on Ned and report back. Finn looks disappointed.
BEA: I'll see you later with some food, and maybe some pompoms!
Erinsborough Hospital
Bea arrives and finds Scarlett outside Ned's room. Scarlett confirms Ned will be okay, albeit they're both a bit rattled. Bea wants to go in, but...
SCARLETT: Now's not a great time. And the staff here are really full-on.
BEA: ... But, you're here?
SCARLETT: Yeah, I got him breakfast from the canteen. And I'm taking him home (...) Ned's gonna stay with me. We've got the alarm system, in case there's any intruders.
BEA: Whose choice was that?
SCARLETT: ... Ned decided it's best if we stick together.
Bea offers to help get Ned home, but Scarlett insists there's no need. Bea argues that it will provide 'additional security' to have her there. Scarlett thanks her, but says there's only one person allowed in the room at the time, so tells Bea to wait here. Bea watches through the glass, concerned, as Scarlett gives Ned his breakfast...
Rebecchi Law
Finn looks somewhat daunted by the massive pile of tax paperwork Toadie plonks on the desk in front of him. There's a load of receipts to process, too - although Toadie snatches one back from the pile, remarking, 'how did that get in there?'
FINN: Tell me you have a system.
TOADIE: I have a system.
FINN: Do you?
TOADIE: No. You want to back out?
But Finn is convinced he's got what it takes to get Toadie's tax in order - despite only understanding 'most' of the taxation website.
TOADIE: So we're pinning our hopes on Bea helping us?
FINN: Well, she said she could bring us some food.
TOADIE: Done. I'm in.
Toadie gives an apprehensive Finn a thumbs-up!
No 32
Scarlett and Bea arrive back at the house with Ned. Scarlett's keen to get rid of Bea and have Ned all to herself, but at that point, Kyle and Amy emerge, welcoming 'lifesaver' Ned to his new abode. Bea, Kyle and Amy all offer to help indoors, but Scarlett says she has it all under control, and the pain meds are ready. Let's hope they're not coming at Ned in shortbread form...
Once Scarlett and Ned have gone inside, Kyle offers to help Amy practice for her job interview. But Amy thinks they should hang out with Ned.
KYLE: Why? Scarlett says she's got it.
AMY: Yeah, but she's being a bit... intense.
BEA: Alright, so I'm not the only one that's noticed it?
KYLE: Hey, he dislocated his shoulder for her. Babe, you would do the same thing for me.
BEA: Yeah, I'm sorry, but she's kind of acting like a stage-five clinger.
KYLE: Woah, settle, petal!
But Amy agrees with Bea, having seen Scarlett do a few 'weird things'. Amy's unwilling to talk here in case they're overheard, so they all head back to No 28 to chat it over.
Rebecchi Law
Toadie is telling Finn about how he doesn't have to include donations to the Sonya Foundation as income on the tax return, because they're exempt. Finn disabuses him of this notion, saying the tax office has to decide that. Toadie panics, suddenly worried that he'll be landed with a huge tax bill for the Foundation that he won't be able to pay. Finn thinks it will be okay, and gets to work on it...
TOADIE: Where's Bea? I need brain food.
FINN: I'll message her.
TOADIE: You tell her that my brain is health food-intolerant.
FINN: Yep.
TOADIE: Thrives on sugar.
FINN: Got it.
No 28
Bea's phone receives a message from Finn, asking where she is - but she's too busy slagging off Scarlett with Amy to notice. Amy explains that she was suspicious about how Scarlett deliberately dropped news of her sleeping with Ned on Yashvi, and Bea agrees it was odd. Likewise at the hospital earlier, Scarlett wouldn't let Bea near Ned, Bea explains.
Elly's In This Episode™ and shows up all of a sudden, asking what they're doing. Kyle bluntly explains that Amy and Bea are complaining about Scarlett. Elly rushes off for a 'really long pee', which Kyle rightly observes is 'a bit of an overshare'.
Amy goes back to presenting her evidence against Scarlett, explaining to Bea how she and Kyle found the photo of Ned and Kyle, and assumed Scarlett had a crush on Kyle, which Scarlett then confirmed.
AMY: But what if she didn't? What if she wanted that photo because of Ned?
KYLE: What? Is it so hard to believe that someone could have a crush on Kyle?!
BEA: Well, I think she's been into Ned from the start. And she followed him to Erinsborough. And she did her best to wreck him and Yashvi. Pretended to be her friend while sucking up to Ned, then found a way to live across the road.
AMY: And got a job where he works.
BEA: She's had it rough, and I do feel sorry for her. But I think she's been playing Ned, and the rest of us.
Amy thinks they should find out more about Scarlett's ex Rex, to help them understand her. Bea suggests they stalk her Facebook. Kyle looks unimpressed.
No 22
Terese is packing up a bag of clothes for Ned. Paul gathers from her body language that she'd prefer Ned to stay here; and Terese admits she's unhappy about him being tangled up in Scarlett's problems. Paul notes that everywhere Scarlett goes, drama seems to follow - and now she's sucked Ned into her orbit, along with David, his husband and housemates.
TERESE: They can't abandon her! She's a victim here.
PAUL: Well, that's what she told us, anyway.
At this point, Scarlett herself turns up - she's come to collect Ned's clothes. Terese was going to bring them over, but Scarlett is keen to take them herself.
SCARLETT: Did you put his white and blue shirt in there? It's my favourite.
TERESE: ... I'll just get it.
Terese goes upstairs to find said shirt, leaving Paul alone with Scarlett. He asks how she's doing after her 'little ordeal'. She says she's getting there.
PAUL: Must be good having Ned there, though.
SCARLETT: What do you mean?
PAUL: Well, it's just, you wanted to get close to him - now you've got him under your roof.
SCARLETT: What are you implying? That this was somehow my fault?
PAUL: Hm. Just, you know, funny the way things work out, isn't it?
SCARLETT: ... I understand you might be feeling a bit spooked after our conversation yesterday. But I would never hurt Ned - ever.
PAUL: You know, my son lives in that house. So I don't want anyone getting hurt, do you understand?
SCARLETT: Neither do I. Ned will always be safe with me.
Ramsay Street
Yashvi stops to talk to Scarlett in the street.
YASHVI: Busy night, I hear?
SCARLETT: ... Yeah.
YASHVI: How is he?
SCARLETT: He'll make a full recovery.
YASHVI: That's lucky.
SCARLETT: I'm the lucky one. Ned hurt himself to save me. He didn't even give it a second thought.
YASHVI: ... Bea said he's staying at yours, so I thought I might come and say hi.
SCARLETT: He's asleep.
YASHVI: I'll come later, then.
SCARLETT: Maybe not just yet. We've both been through such a traumatic experience, and no-one else can really understand. So we're just sort of having some alone time.
YASHVI: Tell him I came by?
SCARLETT: Of course.
Scarlett walks off, leaving Yashvi looking sad. She sends Ned a text, saying she came to see him but he was asleep, and to text her when he's up for a visit. She sends it.
No 32
Ned is asleep on the couch when Scarlett comes in. She hears his phone bleep with Yashvi's message, and reads it. She scoffs incredulously, and deletes it.
SCARLETT: Nice try.
There's a knock at the door; it's Harlow.
HARLOW: I love the security. It's like something out of a heist movie!
Harlow's come to check on Ned, but Scarlett tells her he's asleep. However, Ned has woken up and shouts from the other room, telling Harlow to come in. Ned's shoulder is all patched up; Harlow hugs him, and asks if Yashvi's been to see him - having just seen her in the street.
NED: I was asleep.
SCARLETT: The only person who's knocked on the door has been Harlow.
HARLOW: Oh, that's weird. She seemed really upset when I told her. Would've thought she'd message, or call, or something.
Ned checks his phone but of course, the message from Yashvi is no more.
SCARLETT: I don't think she's taking the break-up very well.
NED: She's moving on, I guess.
Ned looks disappointed. Scarlett eyes him schemingly.
No 28
Kyle is looking bored to tears as Amy and Bea stalk Scarlett's Facebook; there aren't many photos on it, the most recent one being with Ned from the house party. They're looking for a clear image of Scarlett, so Bea can crop it and turn it into a headshot, then use it to do an image search.
Finn comes in, annoyed with Bea that she's been ignoring his calls. She apologises, saying she's been caught up investigating Scarlett. Amy explains they're trying to track down Scarlett's ex, but her social media doesn't give them much to go on; Bea says the photo might help find him.
FINN: Well, you kind of stood me up this morning.
BEA: I promise I'll help you later.
FINN: No need. We got the ball rolling - hard part's over.
BEA: Well, there you go - you didn't really need my help after all.
Finn looks unimpressed.
Ramsay Street
A despondent Yashvi is wandering along with her football when Toadie pulls up in his car. Toadie whinges about his long, hard day with 'zero biccies or chocolate', and briefly explains about his taxation travails. Yashvi suggests that there must be apps that can do all that stuff for him; she suggests Kirsha might know which ones.
Scarlett and Ned appear further along the street, and they look towards Yashvi awkwardly; she looks back, nobody making a move towards further contact. Toadie remarks that Ned must be feeling better. 'I'll say,' responds Yashvi, and walks off, hurt that Ned hasn't replied to her message.
SCARLETT: Well, that was really cold. I mean, you just had a serious accident.
NED: I don't really feel like a walk anymore. Might just have a shower.
SCARLETT: How about a bath? It'll be good for your shoulder.
But Ned still looks distracted and upset about Yashvi.
No 32
Ned is soaking in the bath (in the bathroom! There's a bathroom!) Scarlett knocks on the door, asking if he's decent, so he adopts an appropriate posture to ensure he is! She comes in with a sponge for him, having already supplied him with bubble-bath.
NED: You really have nothing better to do today?
SCARLETT: Than help the guy who saved my life? No, I don't.
He struggles to reach the bubble-bath, so she asks him if he needs a hand. He insists he's fine.
SCARLETT: Stop being a tough guy.
She fetches a stool and sits down next to the bathtub.
NED: Hey, eyes up!
SCARLETT: Nothing I haven't seen before.
NED: True.
Scarlett proceeds to give Ned a sponge-bath as the following dialogue is said!
SCARLETT: So, spoken to Yashvi?
NED: No. I would've thought she would've at least come to see how I was doing. Guess she really is done with me, eh?
SCARLETT: She's just young. She doesn't realise what she had in you. How rare guys like you really are. But I do.
Ned looks uncomfortable as Scarlett gently washes his chest.
SCARLETT: If you were my boyfriend, I would never take you for granted. I'd just always feel so lucky that I was with someone so perfect.
This is as much as Ned can take, and they quickly proceed to a pash...
No 28
Finn is sulking as Bea continues to search for images of Scarlett, in the hope of identifying Rex. Finn suggests to Bea that she might've been snooping for long enough now.
BEA: This is important. This girl may have nearly gotten Ned killed.
FINN: Then, maybe it's safer if you stay away.
BEA: Do you even know me at all?
FINN: This isn't your fight, Bea.
BEA: Well, it has to be somebody's!
FINN: What, so you want to track down this dangerous, violent guy? Just so you can help your ex?
BEA: Ned is in trouble and I'm not going to close my eyes to it.
Finn pauses, then suddenly grabs Bea's laptop from her and slams it shut.
BEA: What was that?!
FINN: I want you to call off this stupid search.
BEA: Give me that back!
FINN: Not until you see sense!
BEA: Well, stop patronising me!
Disturbed by the noise, Elly emerges (perhaps having just finished her 'really long pee') and demands to know what's going on.
BEA: Finn is being a control freak!
FINN: You've been ignoring me all day!
BEA: Give me my computer back and start apologising, before I rip it out of your arms!
FINN: Why are you so invested in Ned?
BEA: Oh, just leave me alone! I know what I'm doing, Patrick!
Everyone looks shocked that Bea has called Finn by his fake, evil guest villain name!
