- Gary shocks Amy with a surprise wedding.
- Amy tells Gary that she can't marry him.
- Kyle tells Amy he's in love with her.
- Amy tells Gary that the wedding is still on.
- Karl talks to Kyle about the tram.
- Sheila tells Gary that the tram business is still up for tender.
- Toadie tells Shane and Dipi that Andrea's been discharged.
- Dipi advises Shane not to tell Toadie about Andrea's story.
- Mark walks in on Shaun telling Elly he wants to be involved in their baby's life.
- Mark tells Elly he wants an annulment.
Elly tells her family that Mark wants to annul their marriage. Finn feels like he's to blame as he let slip to Mark that he knew about the baby's paternity before him, but Elly says the final straw was Mark seeing her talk to Shaun. Bea thinks that Mark's having a kneejerk reaction and advises Elly not to sign the paperwork. Susan agrees, saying it might be a good idea to let things settle down. She then suggests getting legal advice from Toadie but Elly thinks he probably hates her after she used Caitlin's ultrasound to hide the paternity of the baby.
SUSAN: Gotta face him eventually.
Susan says that Elly's friends and family will forgive her, just to give it time.
Amy arrives back from dropping Jimmy off at the airport. Sheila asks how it went.
AMY: He's tear- soaked but ok.
SHEILA: Your tears or his?
AMY: Who do you think?
Sheila says it was nice to have him visit even if it was fleeting. She is folding up Kyle's washed laundry and asks if Amy minds dropping it over to him. Amy makes an excuse that she's going to see Elly but Sheila insists, saying her and Kyle need to clear the air. Amy assumes that Kyle's told Sheila about his declaration (and she's right) then promises to speak to Kyle tomorrow, before exiting the room.
Elly apologises to Toadie for using Sonya's ultrasound and he understandably appears quite cold and detached. They briefly discuss the legalities of the annulment and what her options are.
Sheila serves Chloe some pancakes and a coffee.
SHEILA: Your brother dodged a bullet. I mean he's suffered enough, without being saddled with that slinky lizard's love child.
CHLOE: (awkward) My pancakes are getting cold.
SHEILA: Yeah and as for that Elly and that second member of the Kelly gang. Swanning around together bold as brass, well it just twists the knife.
CHLOE: I didn't come here to gossip about my brother's private life.
Sheila says she's just expressing concern as Mark's a mess at the moment. She encourages Chloe to start talking to him again. Sheila walks back to the bar to serve the man himself.
SHEILA: Choose your breakfast on the house.
SHEILA: I heard about you and Elly. I can't say I blame you.
SHEILA: I'm not working today, just here to pick up the books so there's a ticking clock on this offer. Choose something...It's unbelievable...One- night stand...
MARK: I'm not hungry.
SHEILA: Another man's baby...
MARK: Alright, Sheila look, if I choose something will you go away?
SHEILA: Of course. I just want you to eat something, I can't have you wasting away. Anything you fancy.
MARK: Sure, um, blueberry pancakes.
SHEILA: Anything but that - your sister got the last of the blueberries.
Mark continues to insist that he's not hungry before Sheila tells him that she's on his side over the break up with Elly. She then leaves.
CHLOE: Hey. Happy to share with a bro in need.
Mark looks over.
Gary is showing Amy plans for the tram before Sheila soon enters and begins to sick her oar in. Amy departs just as Sheila winds up Gary, claiming it was her idea to open a café in the tram.
SHEILA: With Amy seeing how motivated you are she knows she has made the right choice for you as a husband.
GARY: Mum, you're making it sound like some sort of a con.
SHEILA: No, it's a wonderful business opportunity, that's what it is. And I am so glad to see you and Amy back on the right track.
Number 28 (exterior)
Shaun arrives to see Elly just as she's looking at the annulment paperwork.
SHAUN: Do you know what you're going to do?
ELLY: Part of me thinks I should give Mark what he wants, he deserves it.
ELLY: But it's our marriage. He's the only man I want; the only father I want for my child.
SHAUN: Do you think any of that is still possible? This makes his feelings fairly clear.
ELLY: You're only saying that because it's what you want. I'm more likely to ask you for help if Mark and I aren't together.
Shaun tries to encourage Elly to let go of Mark and start thinking about the future.
Amy drops off Kyle's laundry.
KYLE: Is that all?
AMY: No, I wanted to say hi...We didn't get a chance to talk at Jimmy's dinner. I had to run off to the airport.
KYLE: Did he get off ok?
AMY: Yeah, I wanna make sure that...well I saw you and Gary talking, is everything alright?
KYLE: All good.
AMY: I appreciate this isn't easy, after you telling me how you feel...I'm flattered, really I am, and I'll always care about you, just not in that way, I love Gary.
KYLE: It's fine I get it...don't worry about me.
AMY: Of course I worry about you. I just want everything to be ok between all us.
KYLE: Righto. I better get back to it.
Shane encourages Toadie to cut Elly some slack, saying that it felt like he froze her out last night when she came to visit. Toadie admits that it's hard to get past the fact that she used Sonya's ultrasound in such a callous way, but Shane says that the baby's innocent in all of this; the focus should be on what's right for the baby right now.
Mark and Chloe are having an awkward catch- up.
CHLOE: Let's see, what else can I tell you? David's still a neat freak. Not that he gets anywhere with all of us dropping our stuff everywhere. At least when we lived with you he had a brother in arms, now he's just got no chance...And, that's all I've got...Your turn...(silence) Or I can start reeling off Moscow subway stations...Paveletskaya, Salaryevo...
MARK: Ok, uh, how about this? I gave Elly an application for a marriage annulment.
CHLOE: Mark...are you serious? That's awful...I'm so sorry for what I did. If I could go back, I would never...
MARK: Chloe, what you did hurt, but everything since, it's on Elly. I'm sorry for pushing you away.
CHLOE: You've got nothing to apologise for, honestly.
MARK: I gave Elly another chance and I piled all the blame on you, it wasn't fair.
CHLOE: Well we're here now.
MARK: It's good to talk.
CHLOE: Yeah, it's so good.
Pierce watches them in the distance.
Elly tells Susan and Bea that she's signed the documents. They ask her if she's sure it's the right decision and she says that a battle in court wouldn't help anyone. Shaun asks if this means she'll be willing to discuss his involvement with the baby but she dismisses him instantly. Elly accepts an offer from Susan to accompany her to number 24 to give Mark the paperwork.
Bea begins to berate Finn for asking Shaun to visit, saying that Mark was coming over to talk to Elly until he saw Shaun there.
SHAUN: Finn didn't ask me here for Elly, he was worried his memory was coming back.
BEA: But you rushed here pretty quick when you found out Elly and Mark fell apart.
Finn says he didn't mean to cause trouble.
BEA: But you did, didn't you?
Elly walks in with trepidation but Mark doesn't appear to be home. She places the documents and her house key on the bench and breaks into tears. Susan does her best to console her.
Number 32 (exterior)
Sheila tells Kyle that Amy was just trying to smooth things over.
KYLE: I still felt like a loser. And by the way can you stop breaking into the house and stealing my laundry?
Kyle tells Sheila that he was thinking of putting in for Karl's tram tender but doesn't want to stick around as it's too awkward with Amy and Gary. Sheila is rattled by his admission that he might move on and tries her best to convince him to stay. She picks up his folder containing his plans for the tram and hands it back to him, saying it will be good for him to have something to focus on.
Chloe offers to cook dinner for Mark soon but he just laughs.
MARK: That's funny.
CHLOE: Ok, I'll mix you a Chlojito then.
MARK: Maybe not just yet.
CHLOE: Yeah, sure.
MARK: Thanks for listening.
As Mark departs to answer a phone call, Pierce approaches Chloe.
PIERCE: I guess my brilliant advice paid off.
CHLOE: Yeah, you should start charging; 'Cash 4 Conversation' (laughs)
Pierce says he's happy to see Mark and Chloe on better terms. At the bar, Mark is talking to someone on the phone.
MARK: Thanks mate, this is huge news for my friends.
The Waterhole (exterior)
Gary and Amy are looking over plans for the tram again. Sheila approaches and does her best to dissuade Gary from putting in a tender. He can't seem to understand her U- turn as yesterday she was the one who suggested it.
Elly walks past Toadie's house just as Toadie and Hugo arrive home. He uses the opportunity to apologise to her for being cold yesterday. She says she doesn't blame him; and he replies that there are courses being run for expectant mothers through Sonya's foundation if she's interested.
ELLY: What's it like? Being a single parent?
TOADIE: It's early days.
ELLY: Yeah, of course, sorry.
TOADIE: You know what, with Shane and everyone around, it doesn't feel that single.
ELLY: Do you ever think if things were different, Andrea could be more involved?
TOADIE: No. No, absolutely not. I'm doing what's right for me and this little fella here. You've gotta do what's right for you...
Elly looks at Hugo.
TOADIE: Do you wanna hold him?
ELLY: ...Yeah (smiles)
Shaun exits Number 28 and notices Elly with baby Hugo in her arms. At the same time Mark walks up Ramsay Street, noticing Elly with Hugo too.
Bea apologises to Finn for how she behaved towards him earlier, saying it was uncalled for. She admits that there's more to it; she's still upset about breaking up with Ned - she doesn't blame Finn for it, but says that Ned's animosity towards him did get in the way of their relationship.
BEA: Your trial and having to choose sides. It was like this big shadow over everything the whole time.
FINN: Like Shaun's this big shadow over Elly and Mark.
Bea thinks they just have to let things go, like Elly is trying to do.
Mark arrives home to find Elly's house key and the signed annulment paperwork on the kitchen table. He looks almost regretful. Shane arrives to see him. Mark has some information on Andrea:
MARK: She's in Geelong.
SHANE: She's only an hour away?
MARK: Apparently she's been there for weeks.
Shane looks shocked.
