No 24
Elly arrives back from her yoga session to find Mark and Leo embroiled in their serious conversation.
MARK: Apparently, you've got something important to tell me.
ELLY: Have I?
LEO: Elly...
ELLY: I don't know what you're talking about.
MARK: Something's going on; I'm not dumb, Elly.
LEO: I'm sorry, Elly - but this is killing you, and you know it. I think you need to tell him.
MARK: Yes, I think so, too. Sorry, Leo - do you mind?
So Leo leaves Elly to tell Mark the truth.
ELLY: You're right. There's something I need to tell you... After the wedding, I went on a bender.
MARK: A bender?
ELLY: Yeah. I just drank way, way too much. I didn't know I was pregnant. I was worried I may have harmed the baby. Leo was the only one I told. I'm so sorry, Mark.
Paul's Penthouse
Paul asks Chloe if she's ready to 'step things up' with their client Max tomorrow. Chloe's prepared to meet him again, but says she doesn't know if she can 'keep this up'.
PAUL: Of course you can! He doesn't stop talking about you. So tomorrow, make sure that you wear something... nice. And you do your thing, hey? Look, I don't have to remind you how important this deal is to Robinson Pines.
CHLOE: My job is important, too. I don't want Terese finding out and sacking me.
PAUL: Come on. We are this close to sealing the deal with Max, but I can't do it without you. So I need you to turn it on.
Paul promises to 'manage' Terese - he has everything under control, and a plan to keep her and Amy out of the way until 'this is over'.

Mark reassures Elly that one night's drinking shouldn't pose too much risk to the baby; and lots of women drink before they know they're pregnant.
MARK: You shouldn't beat yourself up about it. You did all the right things; you went and got checked out at the hospital. What did they say?
ELLY: ... Uh, there were no abnormalities...
MARK: There you go.
ELLY: Yeah. I promise I haven't had a sip since I found out I was pregnant.
MARK: Elly - Elly, it's okay.
Elly claims that she kept it from Mark as she didn't know how he'd handle after their recent friction.
MARK: What you did with Chloe hurt. And I got angry, and it's probably made you feel like you can't talk to me.
ELLY: You don't need to apologise for anything.
MARK: Who's right, who's wrong - none of that matters. I love you, Elly. And I want you to know that you can tell me absolutely anything. Okay?
Elly nods and puts on a smile.

Paul comes in with a suitcase and a bunch of flowers. He's surprised to find Terese cooking in the kitchen.
PAUL: Who are you kidding?!
TERESE: I am making an effort in honour of your first night here.
They kiss, and Paul gives her the flowers - Terese asks what's on his conscience.
PAUL: You know me, always up to no good (!)
TERESE: Yes - too well! But if you really wanted to butter me up, you could always take me out for lunch tomorrow to Lanzini's.
But Paul realises this clashes with his secret plans, and says tomorrow isn't great for him - he has a lot of emails to send. Terese is unimpressed; but Paul suggests Terese accompany Amy and Kyle on a tour of Robinson Pines, so she can get more acquainted with the project.
For some reason, this sounds like a grand day out for Terese, so she agrees, saying it would be good to get to know more about Robinson Pines, since it's 'like Paul's eighth child'! Paul's relieved to have succeeded in getting Terese out of the way tomorrow.
Lassiter's Lake
Elly confronts Leo about almost spilling her secret; he says he went to Mark because he knows he wants to have kids more than anything.
ELLY: You have no right!
LEO: He has a right to know the baby isn't his, and so does the baby!
ELLY: This is none of your business! You are the only one I told, because I trust you - and you went behind my back!
LEO: No kid should be lied to about their parents.
ELLY: I told you - I'm gonna tell Mark in my time, when I'm ready. Do you have any idea what you almost did?
LEO: Wait - almost? So you still haven't told him?
ELLY: Leo, this is my child, and my relationship - and I will tell Mark on my terms.
LEO: (...) And what about honesty? You're just worried about your own agenda, just like everyone else.
ELLY: What are you talking about?
LEO: It means you're a liar, Elly. You don't care who gets hurt, as long as your little secret doesn't get out!
He storms off.
Lassiter's
Leo comes in, looking for Paul, so they can go over the backpackers' accounts. But Terese tells him Paul's snowed under with emails, so has asked to be left alone today. Leo asks if Terese has heard from Piper. Terese is shifty, not wanting to reveal where Piper really is.
LEO: Come on, Terese (...) I'm not a baby.
TERESE: Yeah, I know you're not.
LEO: Yeah, well, people keep tiptoeing around, like they're scared I'll lose it if they say the wrong thing. Just tell me what's happening!
TERESE: Okay. You're right. She's in Adelaide.
LEO: Hm. So as soon as she ended it with me, she went back to Tyler.
TERESE: Come on, Leo. She wasn't happy. She needed to make a change, and it wasn't just about you.
LEO: Right, well - that's cleared things up.
TERESE: I'm sorry. I didn't think you'd want to hear it from me. I didn't want to hurt you any more than you've already been.
LEO: No, no, it's fine - I get it. Clearly, when the Willis women have moved on, I'll always be the last to know.
He walks off.
The Handywoman yard
Elly turns up for a catch-up with Amy. She asks how it's going working with Kyle; Amy says, not as bad as she'd built it up to be. She and Gary have talked a lot, says Amy; he knows Kyle's not a threat to their relationship. Amy asks how pregnancy is treating Elly; she says fine, but is clearly holding back.
AMY: Hey, I'm sorry we haven't spent much time together lately. But I'm glad you've got Leo on call.
ELLY: Hmm. Could say that.
AMY: Why, have you two had a falling out?
ELLY: He's just in this mood.
Amy says he's had a lot to deal with, with Paul and Terese, and now Piper leaving. Amy regrets having not been there much for Leo, but says it's good to know Elly is in his corner. Elly looks guilty.
Ramsay Street
Mark is jogging, and comes across Aaron. They agree it's weird being neighbours rather than housemates now.
AARON: I think that you have definitely reorganised that cutlery drawer the way you like it, haven't you?
MARK: Of course I have. No-one puts teaspoons in the back. It was doing my head in!
AARON: Why do you think we did it, Mark?!
Aaron asks how things are going with Elly. Mark explains about Elly's heavy drinking session, and that she was beating herself up for not telling Mark sooner. Aaron says he's not surprised she didn't, given the circumstances; and advises Mark that he needs to find a way to get rid of the tension from their household.
AARON: If not for you and Elly, at least do it for this baby.
Mark nods in agreement, and jogs on.
The Waterhole
Leo starts a tab with Shane, and begins with a beer - saying he's planning on having a late one. Chloe comes in with her and Paul's client, Max, and Leo notices them; as Max heads to the gents', he asks Shane if he knows who he is. Shane says he's been in a few times with Chloe and Paul, but he doesn't know who he is. Leo looks suspicious.
Paul comes in, and asks Chloe why she's brought Max in here - she says he couldn't wait for the toilet until he got upstairs! Paul is worried that Terese or Amy might walk in, and nearby Leo is listening carefully. Chloe promises to bring Max straight upstairs as soon as he's done; and sure enough, he emerges and is led out by Paul and Chloe. Leo looks even more suspicious.
No 24
Mark has summoned Elly home, to present her with a couple's massage he's bought for them, from the day spa - a Swedish one for him, and a prenatal one for her.
MARK: Things have been difficult for us for too long. And I haven't made things any easier. I'm sorry.
ELLY: You had every right to.
MARK: To be honest, I don't know if we'd still be together, if it wasn't for you and your patience.
ELLY: I don't know what I'd do if I lost you. You're the only good thing in my life right now. Everything with Finn and my job...
MARK: I know you've been stressed out, and I hate myself for making it worse. I'm so sorry; the only thing I need is you, and our baby.
ELLY: I'm so sorry for everything I've put you through.
MARK: Hey, don't. Don't, okay? I'm here. I'm not going anywhere. Whatever's happened is in the past - I just want to move on.
ELLY: I love you so much.
MARK: I love you too.
They kiss, and then hug.
The Handywoman yard
Kyle turns up, ready for his and Amy's tour of Robinson Pines with Terese; he sits on the back of the ute next to Amy, just like the old days.
AMY: So, you and Georgia...?
KYLE: Oh, dude, can we not?
AMY: Sure... Do you still think Dad's the same guy you used to know?
KYLE: Seems the same to me. Same limp and a bar full of scotch!
AMY: No, I meant emotionally. I mean, he can still be painfully underhanded - but in some ways, Terese has really softened him (...) They make a good team.
KYLE: Bit like us back in the day, hey? History as muddy as Kananook Creek, but when it came to work... unschlagbar.
AMY: Did you just swear at me?
KYLE: No, it means 'unbeatable'!
AMY: Oh, well, in that case, I agree! I was surprised when Dad chose you to take over from me. But us working together again... it's a smart choice.
Terese turns up, and they prepare to head off for the Robinson Pines tour. But Amy realises she's left the site passes in her room at the penthouse, so they'll have to swing by and grab them...
The Waterhole
Leo is still drinking at the bar. Chloe comes in and asks Shane for a bottle of fancy champagne, to take up to the penthouse. Leo starts asking probing questions, saying he thought Paul was snowed under with work today. Chloe deflects as best she can, and hurries towards the exit - but Terese and Kyle come in just as she's leaving.
Chloe is flustered to see them, as they're supposed to be on the site tour - and Leo, observing, immediately gleans that something is up. Terese and Kyle tell Chloe that Amy has gone to collect the site passes from her room, and Chloe is worried. Terese asks her about the champagne, and Chloe says it's 'for a guest - who I should be getting back to'.
Chloe stops to send a text, then makes a quick exit - but Leo is onto her, and follows her out of the pub via the other door.
Paul's Penthouse
Amy is surprised when she's greeted immediately by Paul, who pops into the lift as the doors open to hand her the site passes; he claims he was just going to drop them off at reception for her. But Amy walks out of the lift; she's forgotten her jacket, too. She retrieves it, and Paul gets her back in the lift quickly - just in time, before Max emerges, having been nosying around the other rooms.
Lassiter's Complex
Elly finds a fairly tipsy Leo drinking in the beer garden; he's still bitter and hostile towards her, but Elly correctly guesses that he was hoping she'd come and find him following a text exchange they've had.
ELLY: I know this isn't easy on you. And my issues are the last thing you need. I'm sorry; it's not fair.
LEO: Thank you.
ELLY: Please just trust that I know what I'm doing.
LEO: Yeah; I don't think you do, though.
ELLY: Pardon?
LEO: Well, the baby's not your first priority here, is it?
ELLY: My priority is getting this baby safely through the first trimester. That is the only reason I haven't told Mark.
LEO: Yeah, you can dress it up how you want.
ELLY: I'm not dressing it up!
LEO: No - your first priority here is keeping Mark in your life, and you know it. Elly, you need to stop lying to yourself, and everyone else.
ELLY: And you need to stop drinking! I've made my decision; why don't you try and respect that, Leo?
LEO: Whatever.
But Elly is already marching off.
The Waterhole
Amy reconvenes with Kyle and Terese, and they're about to leave for the tour of Robinson Pines. Kyle and Terese head to the car park just as Leo, who is now in an even worse mood, comes back in. Shane tells Amy that Leo's had a bit to drink and that something is clearly bothering him. So Amy heads over to talk to Leo. He claims he's drinking for 'stress relief'.
AMY: Leo, I know you've had a tough time lately, but things will get better.
LEO: Did you get that from some motivational calendar or something?
AMY: It might not seem like it, but the people in your life do care about you.
LEO: The people in my life lie! They all have secrets.
He mentions Paul and Terese's secret hook-ups behind Leo's back, and Piper's failure to mention she was heading to reunite with Tyler, as examples.
LEO: And if you and Kyle think that Dad hired him on his qualifications, you're wrong! (...) And don't even get me started on Elly's disaster.
AMY: She came clean about her fling with Chloe.
Leo just raises his eyebrows, and says he doesn't care anymore. Amy tries to convince him that Paul is really making an effort to make things right. Not getting much of a response, she leaves; Leo finishes his drink.
Lassiter's Complex
As Kyle, Terese and Amy are heading to the car park, Leo catches up with them. He's properly slurring his words now, and apologises for being a jerk back there.
LEO: I'm just... I'm not having a great day.
Amy suggests they talk about it over dinner later. But Leo says there's something else.
LEO: I think there's something dodgy going on up in the penthouse with Paul and Chloe (...) They've been in The Waterhole a few times, and something's just not quite right (...) I'm sick of covering for everyone's lies.
Amy admits that Paul was keen to get rid of her before; and Terese recalls that Chloe was shifty when she asked her about the champagne. Terese announces she's going up to the penthouse to check it out; and Amy and Leo go with her, while Kyle goes to wait in the ute.
Paul's Penthouse
Paul and Chloe are serving up champagne for Max, as he prepares to sign a 'long and lucrative' investment deal with them. Chloe hands Paul a glass, too.
PAUL: Thanks, Amy...
But at that moment, the real Amy emerges from the lift, with Terese and Leo in tow.
TERESE: Paul, what's going on?!
PAUL: (...) I am signing a new investor for Robinson Pines.
AMY: (...) Why wasn't I kept in the loop?
CHLOE: Paul just asked me to handle this one.
AMY: You?!
PAUL: Yeah - and look, we are still in the middle of things. So come on, shoo-shoo. Let's talk about this later.
TERESE: Chloe, you're my PA - why are you involved in Robinson Pines business?
MAX: 'Chloe'?! Sorry, could someone please catch me up on everything? Amy?
AMY: How do you know my name?
But Max was talking to Chloe, not her.
MAX: Is your name Amy too?
AMY: No. Yes! What?!
TERESE: Alright, Paul, what on earth is going on?
LEO: I'll tell you what he's doing. He's conned this guy into thinking Chloe is the project manager. You've been pretending to be Amy!
The look on Chloe's face confirms that Leo's right. Amy looks incredulously at her, and Paul glances sheepishly at Terese...
