- Chloe telling Elly about keeping away from her.
- Paul admitting that he will always care about Terese but knows he can't be with her.
- Leo fearful the Renshaw's will come after him if they get parole.
- Delaney having evidence that Paul killed Mannix.
- Leo giving into Delaney's blackmail.
- Leo admitting that he doesn't love Delaney.
- Delaney finding her dad and uncle in her room.
- Delaney begging her dad not to hurt Leo.
- Ivan aiming to shoot Leo but getting Terese after she steps heroically in front of him.
Mark, Chloe and David are walking through the park chatting about Fay being tested when they suddenly hear a gunshot.
And it looks like its been heard in the café too as Yashvi calls out “what was that”. “Car backfiring?” Elly suggests and tells the lass a tale about thinking a gun had gone off when it was actually a car backfiring. However, they are soon drawn to people rushing and screaming outside in the complex and now look worried.
“Call an ambulance,” someone yells as Paul and Piper rushes towards where Terese is lying on the floor. It looks like she has been shot in the shoulder as Paul puts a cloth to where it is bleeding. Jane phones in for an ambulance, describing what's happened to the operator including the fact they don't know where the gunman is.
Panic is ensuing in the complex with people running in all directions including Ivan getting away. “What's going on?” asks a bemused Mark.
Yashvi volunteers to look outside to find out what is happening, but Elly stops her and says that they are all going to stay put.
David and Mark decide to head for The Waterhole and Mark orders Chloe into Harold's, promising to call her later.
Jane relays the information that the ambulance is on its way and tells Paul to keep the pressure on the wound. “I'm doing my best,” he says but rejects Leo's offer to take over as he doesn't want to move her. A teary Piper does her best to reassure her mum.
Toadie wonders if the shooter is still in the complex but Leo saw Ivan leave the bar at least.
TOADIE: Ivan, as in Ivan Renshaw?
Leo nods to confirm who it is they are talking about just as David and Mark arrive in the bar. David immediately goes over to Terese to assess her.
The ambos arrive and pull a stretcher out of the ambulance.
Lassiters hotel, Delaney's room
Raymond isn't impressed at his little brother stuffing up and orders him to get to somewhere safe and call back. Delaney wants to know what Ivan did and what the sirens are but is told to keep quiet. “Is that the cops?” she asks but is told its “the ambos.” She is now desperate to know if Ivan hurt Leo but her dad yells at her to ignore Leo, she's got to stick with him if they want to get out. “I don't want to go anywhere with you,” she shouts at him and makes a run for the door to go find Leo. Delaney uses the cover of another couple walking past the room to get away from her dad, but once the couple passes by, he turns in the opposite direction to her.
While Toadie tells the police what happened, David is working with the ambos to stabilise Terese.
Mark reports that it appears the gunman has got away and after Leo describes Ivan, he now realises its was the person that run into him outside Harold's.
Leo is frustrated that it is taking so long but Paul tells him to let his brother do his job. Mark notices that Piper appears to be in shock and Leo makes his way over to her, but she quickly fends him off and instead goes towards her mum. “Is she going to be okay?” Piper asks David and he confirms that the gunshot is the only injury but is fearful of internal bleeding, however they will know more when they get her to hospital, and moments later she is stretchered out of the bar.
A random officer brings those inside Harold's up to date on what has happened and since the gunman is still on the loose, warns them to stay inside until its declared safe to leave.
Chloe tells Elly that Mark and David were supposed to meet her, but she can't get hold of either of them. Elly is the same but knows that the boys can handle things themselves unlike the worried folk inside Harold's. Taking control, Elly asks Yashvi to make some hot chocolate for Kirsha and her friends before making a general announcement to everyone reassuring them that they are safe inside the café.
Terese is wheeled into the back of the ambulance and David reassures Piper that she's quiet because of the strong painkillers before she jumps into the back of the ambulance to be with her. David stops his dad and Leo from doing likewise as its family only plus she will be going straight into surgery when she gets to the hospital.
LEO: Tell me she's gonna to be alright?
DAVID: We'll do everything we can.
LEO: I'll never forgive myself.
DAVID: I promise I'll look after her.
He rushes and jumps into the passenger seat of the ambulance and with blues and twos going, it makes its way to the hospital.
Just at that, Jane comes over and Paul explains they are taking Terese to the hospital and he plans on following. She wants to come too, but he vetoes that and instead wants her in the penthouse where he knows she is safe, promising to call as soon as he can.
LEO: You know it was me Ivan was supposed to shoot
PAUL: What? So they know it was you that shopped them?
As we see Jane run into the hotel, we also see Raymond observing all while keeping himself hidden before it cuts back to Leo telling his dad that he assumes it was Delaney that told her dad. Paul now fears they will try and shoot him again so wants Leo inside, but he is insistent on going to the hospital despite Paul's protestations!
Leo is about to get into a Lassiters vehicle when Delaney rushes over to him. “Stay away from me,” he yells at her and accuses her of ratting him out. “I can't be anywhere near you right now,” Leo informs her as she tries to tell him that she didn't talk to her dad or uncle.
LEO: Then who did?
DELANEY: I don't know but it wasn't me. Why would I be standing here with you if it was?
LEO: I don't know, to keep me here until they can come finish the job?
Leo jumps into the vehicle and Delaney follows suit by jumping into the passenger seat. “Get out!” he orders but she refuses to because she wants him to believe her. He tells her that if she's telling the truth, then she should go to the police and “tell them exactly where your dad and Ivan are.” She replies that she doesn't know where Ivan is, and adds that her dad walked out, but he still wants her to tell that to the police to help track them down. Delaney is sticking to her “I'm not going anywhere without you,” stance so somewhat reluctantly, Leo starts the engine and gets going with her still in the vehicle.
Mark is looking for Ivan when he comes across Ned, who updates him that Terese is now at the hospital. When he hears ‘Renshaw', Ned wonders if Delaney had him come here and shoot Terese? “I don't know what the story is,” Mark replies, he is more concerned with capturing him, and welcomes Ned's assistance in the manhunt.
Despite his request to stay in the penthouse, Jane arrives to join in the wait for news on Terese, followed moments later by Leo. Piper reacts aggressively to his presence, blaming him for her mum ending up in hospital.
PIPER: You hurt my mum, you broke her heart and now this!
LEO: I didn't know this was going to happen Piper, I never meant for her to get hurt.
PIPER: Just stay away Leo!
Jane tries to be peacemaker by saying that Leo is worried too, but the lass doesn't give two hoots about that, she doesn't want him here!
Just at that, David appears with news – despite the bullet going quite deep, the surgical team have removed the it. “So, she's going to be okay?” a worried Piper asks but David replies that he doesn't know, she is going to be in surgery for longer. “Can't you tell us any more than that?” Paul pleads but he replies, “I'm sorry.”
PAUL: Come on David, we're not just any old visitors, we're your family.
DAVID: When there is more information, I'll let you know.
Thankfully Delaney is waiting in a different part from the others but is still ordered to leave by Leo when she spots her, despite her saying she didn't mean for Terese to get hurt.
DELANEY: I'm not going anywhere until you listen to me.
LEO: I've listened. All you do is lie and play games.
DELANEY: If I've played games it's because I have to, to survive.
LEO: Your family, your problem! When other people's lives are affected, I don't really have sympathy any more.
She informs him that she has called the police and told them all she knows about her dad and uncle and wants him to go with her to the police while she makes a statement, claiming that its her that now needs the protection not Terese! “We both know it wasn't Terese they were after,” she reminds him with, but he is staying put until Terese is out of surgery. “What if they track you down here?” she asks adding that he could be putting Terese in danger again.
DELANEY: No- one is safe here until you come with me to the police station.
Lassiters Complex/Harold's Cafe
Raymond calmly walks out the hotel, through the complex and into Harold's to where Elly welcomes him in!
Yashvi comes over and drops a latte off to Raymond and tries to engage him in conversation. Raymond calmly explains that he has been staying in the hotel and is just passing through.
Chloe praises Elly for how well she is handling things and she is forced into telling Yashvi off for reading out an update (she'd said that the shooter, an ex- prisoner, was still at large and could still be in the vicinity) because she's scaring Kirsha and her friends. “But we're safe in here?” Yashvi says and Elly agrees with her before adding that the shooter is still out there, so they need to keep everyone calm.
As they wait, Jane is curious to know why someone would shoot Terese, but Paul plays all innocent and quickly heads over to Leo to avoid talking about it.
“Is there any more news?” he asks (no) then explains that he was talking to Delaney and now tells his dad that her dad is also in town. Paul doesn't think he can trust her when Leo tells his dad that he'd persuaded her to go to the police, thinking she might have some information that could help them, but plans on going with her to make sure she does go.
David appears in the family area and Piper asks to see her mum but is told soon, “she isn't out of the woods yet.” Paul asks what the problem is, and David explains that she is in recover but its still a waiting game until she comes out of the anaesthetic.
Mark and Ned meet up again but there is still no sign of Ivan. Just at that, Mark spots him trying to break into a vehicle and tells Ned to head round the other way so that they can cut him off. Eventually doing what he's told, Ned runs down the side of Amy's yard while Mark calmly saunters forward to engage Ivan in conversation. “Don't come any closer,” Ivan warns and shows what is in the waistband of his trousers! Immediately Mark puts his hands up and starts to back away just as Ned unseen appears behind Ivan.
IVAN: I've already used it once today and you don't want me to use it again.
Ivan doesn't know what's hit him as Ned rugby tackles him to the ground and Mark quickly grabs the gun out of his reach before helping Ned keep Ivan pinned to the ground.
We see Terese unconscious lying in a hospital bed before cutting back to the corridor and Leo wondering why David hasn't said too much about how she is doing. Paul tries to joke that it won't be long until she is back ordering them about, before asking Leo to sit down on the conveniently located seats, so they have a serious talk.
“I meant what I said at The Waterhole earlier,” Paul begins with, he knows Leo loves Terese and thinks they will be happy once they get through all of this. “I'm not even thinking that far ahead,” Leo explains, he is simply taking “one step at a time.”
Paul admits that he couldn't have bared to have lost Leo had the Renshaw's carried out their plan, especially after spending so much time being angry at him. Leo acknowledges that they both could have acted better.
LEO: I betrayed you with Terese, and then I let her down too.
PAUL: Yeah, but you were trying to protect me, I can't forget that.
LEO: You protected me first with Mannix. Let's just call it square.
PAUL: Fine, I guess we're both well intentioned idiots eh!
LEO: Yeah agreed!
PAUL: And listen son, no matter what happens, I don't ever want to be at war with you again.
LEO: We won't be.
“Just be careful,” Paul tells his son as they part ways - him to go wait with Piper and Leo as he accompanies Delaney to the police station.
Raymond is about to leave when Elly stops him from doing so as its not safe. Yashvi announces that the shooter has been caught (she's read it online), so Raymond assumes its safe to go but Chloe returns from the station with an update – they all have to stay put because they are sweeping the area again.
Chloe heads over to quietly tell Elly that the shooter has a partner, who the police suspect is still around. Elly comments that everyone is getting angsty especially him (Raymond) but Chloe reassures her that she is doing a great job of “keeping it all together and calm.”
Yashvi asks Elly to come over and asks her to take a look at the article she is reading – it's a breaking news update on the Erinsborough News website showing with the headline ‘Accomplice at large' and underneath a picture of the guest sitting in the café… Raymond!
Terese slowly wakens up from the anaesthetic.
David checks Terese over and out in the corridor, Ned updates everyone that Ivan has been captured. Jane is relieved to hear the news although Paul points out that his accomplice is still at large. “Let's hope he will be caught too,” Jane replies.
“You holding up?” Ned asks his sister after he moves over beside her as she stares through the window at David doing his checks. “Yes,” she replies but just wants to be in the room with her mum and replies to Ned asking, that she doesn't plan on tell her that it was a Renshaw that shot her. The police have been told not to say either, to allow Terese the chance to recover.
David exits the room to say that Terese is stable and can have visitors but only one or two at a time as she is still groggy. Piper wastes no time being the first one in and Jane suggests giving the lass some alone time with her mum. She also reassures Paul that Terese will be okay and he breaks down telling her about losing his niece Kate in a shooting accident.
PAUL: To lose someone else that I love, I just don't think I could handle it.
As he said it, Jane immediately picked up on the ‘love' part and is somewhat alarmed to hear him say that.
Chloe, Elly and Yashvi discuss how they can alert the authorities without Raymond getting suss, especially as he is sat right next to the door. Yashvi suddenly notices that she can't see her sister and wants to go look but Elly stops her from doing that and instead reveals her plan – to say that the all clear has been given so that Raymond leaves first, but she will prevent the others from then following him out the door. “Okay,” Yashvi replies and Elly moves from behind the counter and goes over to where Raymond is sitting.
“Hey, they've given us the all clear, so you can go,” Elly tells Raymond. “Great,” he replies before standing up and making his way to the door but is suddenly suss that nobody else is following him.
RAYMOND: Why isn't anyone else going?
ELLY: I just, I thought you were the most anxious, so you could leave first.
He then demands Yashvi turn over her phone and very reluctantly she does so. As he takes it, he pulls a gun out of his waistband and yells to everyone that there is “a change of plan”
RAYMOND: No- one's going anywhere.
