- Terese berates Paul for sharing personal details about her with Leo.
- Terese tells Leo how touched she was by the video he made and how she is only angry with Paul, not him.
- Kirsha tells Shane she's the one who stole money from Harold's Store.
- Shane and Kirsha prepare themselves to tell Dipi.
- Gary tells Elly and Bea that the police are stopping their patrols of Ramsay Street.
- Bea gets annoyed with Elly.
- Bea gets spooked when she hears a noise outside late at night.
Bea runs in the direction of the entrance to Lassiters, just as Ned appears asking if she's ok. She asks if he's Elly's ex and they begin talking. She explains how she heard a noise that unsettled her and Ned offers to walk her home.
Ned and Bea bond over their inability to sleep. Bea says that she always slept fine until she became homeless, to which Ned responds that he slept rough for a while in Darwin after upsetting his grandparents. Bea explains that being with Finn used to make her feel safe and able to sleep well, but now the mere thought of him keeps her wide awake.
Sonya is exhausted after finally managing to get Nell to sleep while Toadie is doing some work on his laptop. He hopes that Hugo will go to sleep soon and that he'll be able to finish off his work. Sonya asks why his EA can't do it and Toadie explains that it's easier for him to just do it himself. She encourages him to get a new EA but he's reluctant as he'd like to put the money towards Andrea's ongoing care. Sonya isn't too keen on the idea and heads back to bed, leaving Toadie to do his work.
Piper hands scripts to cast members of Flapper, informing them that she's planned a schedule for rehearsals for the next two weeks. Sonya asks Piper if it's ok for Toadie to miss rehearsals that evening as he's so busy with work. Shane seems concerned as the show is drawing nearer but Piper says that real life always comes first. Sonya and Cassius tell Piper how much of a natural she is managing the play and she jokes that she loves bossing people around. Sonya and Piper leave just as Ned walks in. Piper comments on how tired he looks and he says that a coffee will fix it. Shane and Cassius practice their lines which gives Ned a laugh. Shane happens to mention that he went down to the lake the previous night to listen to his lines which he'd recorded and Ned realizes it might have been him who spooked Bea.
Dipi tells a disinterested Yashvi that she found the missing money at the back of the till. Dipi then asks Yashvi to tell kids at school about Flapper in the hope of increasing publicity for the show.
YASHVI: yeah, if I bump into the theatre geeks I'll be sure to mention it.
Dipi hands her some lunch to give to Kirsha and they talk about how strangely she's been acting recently. Dipi says she's been meaning to speak to her but hasn't had a chance. Vi says she'll check in with her at school. As she leaves Marisa walks in and asks to use the bathroom. Dipi ignores her but Yashvi asks why she keeps hanging around.
MARISA: What's it to you?
YASHVI: Well you hate my family and we hate having to deal with you. You're poison.
Yashvi exits. Marisa grins at her phone.
Terese, Paul and Leo discuss the Face of Lassiter's promotion. Terese thinks a city laneway photo- shoot with Dipi might be a good idea, cross- promoting Lassiters and Flapper. She suggests a particular lane leaving Paul looking confused. Leo mentions that he and Terese visited laneways in Melbourne together for inspiration.
Terese receives an email from the girl who was fired for vandalizing Lassiters posters. She clicks the video which contains footage of Shane Rebecchi coming across quite threatening.
SHANE: You need to stay away from my family. Kirsha might've defaced those posters but you're a racist and a bigot and you deserve to lose your job. I don't appreciate people attacking my family so you're gonna stop blackmailing Kirsha or you'll regret it.
Shane looks shocked after Terese shows him the video. Toadie asks him how he could threaten a young girl like that but Shane says that it looks a lot worse than it is, as Marisa has cut a lot of the footage, including the things that she said to him. Terese mentions that people have already started sharing the video online and that Marisa could go to the police. Dipi is mortified, especially about being kept in the dark that Kirsha was being blackmailed. Shane explains that she was so pumped about the show he didn't want to tell her yet. Shane apologizes to Terese who says that she'll have to talk to Paul and see what it means for the Face of Lassiters campaign.
Sonya offers to give Piper a hand but Piper seems to be managing. Sonya then asks how she's handling things with work and managing Flapper but Piper says she's enjoying the challenge. Sonya soon begins to enquire whether Piper is enjoying her job and wonders whether her skills are being wasted by working at the nursery. Her motivation quickly becomes clear when she says that Toadie's looking for a new EA and that Piper could be just the person he needs. Piper says she knows nothing about Law but Sonya is certain she is ideal for it.
Dipi berates Shane for not telling her that Kirsha defaced the posters. He explains that Kirsha was worried how Dipi would react if the family was dropped from the Face of Lassters campaign so he decided not to say anything.
DIPI: As if I would put the campaign before what's right for our daughter.
SHANE: I was also trying to buy some time so you could just enjoy rehearsals.
DIPI: You should've just trusted me, Shane. We're in this together. We're a team when it comes to our kids, I thought that was understood.
Shane apologises again for losing his temper and Dipi says that she'd be a hypocrite if she didn't understand. She re- assures him that they'll find a way through it but believes that Paul might not be happy for dragging Lassiters into it. Shane says that he still believes Lassiters is better off without Marisa.
Bea surprises Ned with a coffee to say thanks for his help the previous night. As she departs, he tells her that Shane was probably the one who spooked her at the lake. He assures her that he didn't tell Shane about scaring her but she seems a little embarrassed. Ned asks what she's up to and she says she's heading back to the garage. They talk about her being an apprentice mechanic before awkward silence ensues. There is very obvious chemistry between them. Bea departs as Elly walks by, who offers to cook dinner. Bea declines, saying she's staying late at work.
Paul, Leo and Terese discuss the Shane incident. Terese has contacted HR who advised to offer Marisa her job back but Leo says he's unhappy with that after how she treated Kirsha and Yashvi. Paul asks whether Marisa has ever made racist comments towards Leo but she hasn't, though he does mention how he received racism daily throughout his high school years. After much discussion, Paul leaves the decision up to Terese whether they're going to pull the Face of Lassiters campaign, saying he has faith that she knows what's best for the business.
Erinsborough High Courtyard
Elly tells Yashvi that Bea's being distant again. She asks if Yashvi can just keep an eye on Bea and Vi agrees as she knows what it's like be worried about a younger sibling.
MARISA: Why am I speaking to you and not Terese? Didn't you get fired for fooling around with your assistant?
LEO: Take a seat.
Leo explains that Lassiters would like to offer Marisa her job back after it was proven that the accusations against her were unfounded. She asks whether she'd get paid for the time off and Leo says she would. She says she could sue Lassiters but Leo reminds her that the hotel is acting in good faith. She accepts her job back and Leo warns her that they will be keeping a close eye on her.
Vi leaves a voice message for Bea asking whether she'd like to see a movie sometime. Dipi hauls Vi into the kitchen to talk about Marisa.
Terese and Piper walk in, discussing Sonya's suggestion for Piper to work as Toadie's EA. Piper admits her concerns over whether she should take the job, as Law is not something she wants to go into, but Terese says that it doesn't have to be a ‘forever' job and she might learn some new things. Piper concludes that Terese thinks she should take the job.
TERESE: I think you should do what's right for you. That's the only answer that matters.
Piper apologizes for visiting late but says she saw the light on. She's come to say she'd like to be Toadie's EA if he's still looking for one. He looks surprised, realizing that Sonya's secretly been recruiting for him. He likes the idea but wonders how Sonya will cope without her at the nursery. Cassius jumps in, offering to fill the position and Sonya agrees.
Dipi looks upset as she reads her phone. She tells Yashvi that Terese wants to discuss the campaign tomorrow.
Dipi apologizes for not putting the girls first but Yashvi says she's fine and that they should be concerned about Kirsha. She then asks how things are between Dipi and Shane to which Dipi responds that they'll work through it. Marisa walks in wearing her Lassiters uniform.
DIPI: Are you back working at Lassiters?
MARISA: I thought you should know. Now I'm here, I'll grab a Latte.
MARISA: Something you wanna say?
YASHVI: Yeah. I'm sorry that my dad threatened you. That would've been really scary. And Kirsha should have spoken up earlier and taken responsibility for what she did. But at least now I get it.
MARISA: Get what?
YASHVI: Why you hate my family so much.
MARISA: Cause I'm poison?
YASHVI: No, because you're mediocre. This all started because I was better at footie than you. And you couldn't handle it. So instead you went for my most obvious difference. My skin.
MARISA: Your skin gets you special treatment. A free ride to the top.
YASHVI: No, I've earned my place, you haven't. So instead of blaming me for mediocrity, why don't you do something about it? Or do you really wanna spend the rest of your life being miserable and bitter because you're not the best person you could be?
Marisa looks owned. She exits.
It's late at night, Bea has a big coat on and she receives a text as she ties her shoelaces. The door knocks and she answers to Ned, who offers to keep her company on her walk. She agrees and they head off.
The sun shines over Erinsborough as Shane and Dipi have a meeting with Paul, Leo and Terese. The couple fight their corner but Terese explains that while Shane can keep his job, the Face of Lassiters campaign will have to be cancelled. However, she adds a final blow; Lassiters will also be withdrawing its financial support towards the production of Flapper.
DIPI: (emotional) That's gonna kill our show.
TERESE: I'm sorry, the decision's been made.
