- Paul sacking Sheila for selling Flametree food in the pub.
- Sheila unamused at Fay stealing her job.
- Sonya dishing out the advice to Phillipa.
- Phillipa asking Steph if Charlie can stay with her.
- The clock is ticking for Toadie!
- Steph wondering where Toadie is.
- Mishti being urged to talk to the guy who has been making eyes at her.
- Xanthe walking in on Dilhan going through Mishti's purse.
Xanthe wakes up Mishti with her screams and explains she walked in on someone going through her things. Mishti knows exactly who it was – Dilhan and rushes out the back door (dressed in her dressing gown) to see if she can catch him.
Number 26 (next day)
A very deliriously happy Steph is doing the farewell rounds of the street. She tells Gary that the van has just left with her belongings and she still can't believe that she gets to spend time with Charlie and Adam.
STEPH: I've always dreamt of this stuff, but I never truly believed it would happen.
GARY: Well it has and its well deserved.
Top of her to do list for Sydney is finding a job but he thinks that will be easy for her to do with her skillset. He reassures her that the retreat will be safe in his hands and even has an idea to increase revenue but wants to think it through more before telling her what it is. She goes to head home, hoping that Toadie is out of his bed so that she can leave town after making peace with him.
Sonya finishes sending Toadie a ‘hurry up!!!' text just as Steph returns home and hears that in the time she was away, Toadie has headed to the office. She can't believe he's done that and Sonya tries to explain that he's got a lot on. “Sonn, is he deliberately avoiding me?” Steph asks but Sonya reassures her that isn't the case and now has to work hard to persuade Steph not to leave earlier than planned – she wanted to head away sooner since he wasn't around to hang out with.
SONYA: He will be here. You know he's always here for you.
Terese tells Leo that he is now heading the kitchens to learn what pressure is! Thankfully his departure for there is delayed when Gary comes by to see if Terese wants to re- stock The Flametree Retreat's desserts in The Waterhole? Leo is definitely against it happening as the sugar loaded desserts they currently have are fine, while Gary tries to say his desserts are much healthier. Eventually Terese decides that Fay can be the one to make the final decision.
TERESE: And there's no danger of nepotism!
Gary is up for making a tasting platter although Leo isn't amused to be told he will be the waiter for it – another part of his “ongoing training!”
Thankfully Leo's sullen looks haven't turned the desserts off as he holds the tasting plate while Fay tastes them. She loves the first one, even more the second and already has a wine paring for it! Leo is just about ready to find a spew bucket as Gary feeds Fay some of the final dessert he's brought along! Fay is in dessert heaven and wonders if they are all as good as the three she's sampled!
Dipi and Shane return from their overnighter at Lassiters to hear Mishti tell them that her date robbed the place, well took the money from her purse, before he was disturbed by Xanthe. “You poor thing,” Dipi tells her sister and asks if she is okay and Mishti confirms that embarrassment is the only thing wrong with her. Dipi urges her sister to catch him, something Mishti fully intends on doing!!
Next on the farewell tour for Steph is Mark at #24. He is pleased that its all worked out for her and likewise she wishes his dreams (a wife and kids) comes true too. She isn't letting Toadie's non- appearance dwell on her as she continues the farewell tour and heads out the back to say goodbye to Aaron and David.
Unfortunately for Mishti, the CCTV at the pub doesn't have a clear shot of Dilhan's face but Fay promises to ask the staff to keep an eye out for him after she's provided with a description.
It does look like Chloe has a photo of him in one the many she's sent through and Mishti plans on using some facial recognition software to see what comes up.
“They were both really, *really* into it,” is how Leo tells Terese about how the tasting session went which is surprising her given “Fay's a sophisticate from the Barossa, Gary's nowhere near her speed.” Leo reminds her that she went out with him, so she quickly gets back onto business talk and remarks that the deal will be good for everyone.
Mishti escorts Xanthe into the complex after she gives her statement about what happened at #32. Mishti apologises that she got caught up in it, but the lass is fine and indeed asks how she is coping after everything. “I'm a tough cookie,” Mishti replies and wishes that she had her work instinct when it comes to her personal life. Xanthe suggests having a friend to help instead with the men instincts until she gets her own working again.
Steph has had enough cups of tea, its time to hit the road although does let Charlie take a farewell photo of herself with Sonya. Charlie and Sonya try to stall for time, but Steph knows what they are up to – she isn't going to hang around any longer waiting for Toadie to appear.
SONYA: He's on his way Steph.
STEPH: He's had so many opportunities to say goodbye and he hasn't okay and while that really hurts me, he's made his choice and I have to respect that.
Just at that Toadie appears and he's brought someone with him too – Adam!
Its tears galore as Steph hugs her youngest son and Toadie explains that he had to fly to Sydney to get Adam, so he could drive back with her on the road trip.
STEPH: You guys were in on this weren't you?
TOADIE: You and I have had so many amazing memories, I didn't want you to waste any time making new ones as a family.
“Oh, thank you,” Steph says before pulling Toadie in for a hug.
Steph watches on as Charlie bonds with his little brother at another table from where she is having (another) farewell cuppa with Toadie and Sonya.
STEPH: I feel really guilty. I got so cranky at you thinking you didn't want to say goodbye.
TOADIE: As if!
Toadie is unwilling to accept Steph's grateful thanks.
STEPH: I don't know where I would have ended up if you guys didn't let me come and stay when you did. Every pivotal moment in my life you've been there. And you Sonn. I know we didn't start off very close, but you are like my sister, better! These last few years, all the belief you've shown in me its because of that that I've finally got myself back on track and I just don't know how I am ever going to repay you.
SONYA: You already have.
TOADIE: Yes, and then some.
SONYA: You brought Callum to Jarrod, and that's how we got together. You were here for me when I relapsed and then you helped us get our marriage back on track. It's just whatever we've given you, you've given it back to us.
Toadie warns his wife to “don't cry,” in case it sets him off (and he does look very close to tears) and despite promising herself that she wouldn't, Steph too is extremely close to crying as she then takes both their hands.
STEPH: I love you guys so much.
TOADIE: We love you too.
SONYA: Big time.
Bearing in mind what Xanthe told her, Mishti meets up with Aaron and David to see if they will be her “date consultants.” They wonder why them, given their dating history (Rory and Rafael) but she points out that they eventually got their heads together and thinks with them both, they will be the “checks and balances” needed.
MISHTI: You're one of the most compatible couples I know.
She hopes to just need them for a little while until she can learn to trust her own instincts again.
AARON: I suppose sizing up hot guys isn't so bad as far as community service goes.
DAVID: Although we are fully aware that you're after more than just looks.
“So, does that mean you're in?” she asks, and they are!
Gary calls Steph to let her know about the dessert deal he's made with Fay, which she is happy to hear and promises to catch up with him in a few days. “We're going to miss you,” Sonya says as Steph returns to the table, ready this time to leave although doesn't want the Ramsay Street farewell.
STEPH: Last time I left here it was because I had to, this time its on my own terms and yes, I just want to go quietly, just savour it.
“And anyway, this place hasn't seen the last of me,” she warns before going to hug Toadie.
STEPH: You, you're my bestie and Erinsborough's always going to be my true home.
The boys (and Nell) come over from their table for farewell hugs and Steph points out that Sydney is only an hour's flight away. After a final hug with Nell, Steph gathers her boys for the start of their new life together.
STEPH: This is it. See you later!
The trio head out of the café as Toadie and Sonya struggle not to cry. Sonya urges Toadie outside to wave Steph goodbye.
SONYA: Go on, you know you want to do it!
Toadie rushes out the door and watches as Steph and the boys head to their car and get into it before driving off out of the car park.
Terese doesn't look too impressed at seeing Gary and Fay very close to one another when she comes into the pub. She is glad to hear though that his desserts are back on the menu and then can't get away from them quickly enough.
“See what I mean,” Leo tells her, and she denies that the look on her face is jealousy… for a few seconds before admitting that maybe she is a little bit jealous.
TERESE: Its not easy seeing your ex so soon with somebody else after you've broken up with them, even if it is completely business.
Leo has a huge smirk on his face as if to say ‘liar' and she reminds him he'd “be the same if it were Mishti sharing a laugh with a male colleague.” “Alright,” he admits before adding “as long as you're sure that's all it is.”
Mishti reports to Shane and Dipi that that Dilhan has been ID'd and it won't be long until he is picked up. “That's a relief,” Shane comments but Mishti is still feeling bad about it happening in the first place and dreads to think what might have happened had the girls been home. “They weren't,” Shane points out and suggests that they put it behind them and jokes that in future she does a background check on her dates before bringing them home!
MISHTI: Way ahead of you! I've already put steps in place, so I can avoid all the Dilhan's of the world from now on.
They are pleased to hear that before heading over to see how Toadie and Sonya are doing with Steph leaving. Just seconds after they leave, Mishti gets a text from a blocked number with a message:
Call off the cops or this video goes viral.
We don't see what it is, but its from the sound we do hear, it's obviously been sent from Dilhan as they TITTNL™.
Coming up on Neighbours
- Finn warning Bea to keep quiet.
- Cassius talking to Toadie.
