- Shane hoping that Kirsha's prepared enough to return to school
- Tia making fun of Kirsha behind her back
- Paige worrying that Mark isn't answering her calls or texts
- Jack offering to search for Mark in Adelaide with Paige
- Piper and Tyler fighting because of the online video about T- Bone
- Prison thug ‘Banks' wanting Tyler's help to find out if his wife is cheating
Kirsha's feeling overwhelmed walking into school but Xanthe and Jimmy are there to offer support. Elly stops by to say hello and let Kirsha know all of her teachers will have microphones linked to her phone app. Elly then asks Xanthe how she's going but Xanthe's more stressed about work than school at the moment because items from her housekeeping cart have gone missing. Cue Jimmy looking incredibly guilty.
Tyler has filled Ben in on the Banks debacle and is stressed about his next move because threats have been made against Piper if he doesn't follow orders. Ben suggests Tyler call Mark, which Tyler has already attempted but Mark's not answering.
BEN: Do you think Piper could be in danger right now?
TYLER: I haven't spoken to her, and you know how the way things are between us.
BEN: What? Now is not the time to hold a grudge over a vlog.
TYLER: I know.
BEN: So what are you doing here?
Paige and Jack are walking along the beach after visiting Fay's house and finding no one home. Their next step is to go to Fay's workplace at 1pm. Paige thanks Jack for supporting her and Jack replies that they're family. Paige smiles and reminisces about the fact that she was searching for her own not that long ago “and now look at us!” She tells Jack that the house she lived in with Ethan isn't far away so Jack suggests they go and see it while they wait for Fay to start work.
Piper hangs up from a phone call with Paige when Tyler arrives. Tyler apologises to Piper for getting mad at her about the vlog and they share a hug. He then asks Piper if she's noticed anyone weird hanging around and when Piper grows concerned, Tyler gives her the old “there's something I need to tell you.”
Jimmy trades the alcohol for cash with Tia and tells her this is the last time he'll be doing it. Tia says her brother won't be happy, but Jimmy's all “whatever”. Tia sidles up to her friends and they all start laughing at poor Kirsha, who has no idea she has a period stain on her dress. Xanthe walks past and eventually explains the situation to Kirsha by showing her a pad from her school bag. Mortified, Kirsha dashes into the bathroom while Xanthe lays into Tia and her gang for being bullies. Tia is not impressed.
Piper's stunned after Tyler explains about Banks and his demands. She doesn't understand how Tyler's supposed to catch the guy's wife (Verity) cheating, but Tyler says Piper's not going to like the answer.
TYLER: He wants me to make a move on her. See if she responds.
TYLER: Apparently she checked into Lassiter's. That's what she does; she goes into hotels and picks up guys at bars. Adrian's going to text me when she surfaces.
PIPER: Sorry, so, you're supposed to, like, entrap her?
Piper thinks that's an awful idea and says they should go to the police instead, but Tyler says that Adrian warned him the minute they inform the cops all hell will break loose. He needs to at least try and get something on Verity so that he can make Banks happy and keep Piper safe. Piper reluctantly concedes to the plan.
Kirsha emerges from the bathroom stall and has a tearful hug with Xanthe. Kirsha says her mum told her to be ready when this happened but she's not. She's also worried about her dress being wet from where they washed it, so Xanthe kindly takes off her jacket and ties it around Kirsha's waist. Kirsha holds her hands up in a heart symbol and thanks Xanthe, who returns the gesture and gives the poor kid another hug.
Paige and Jack stop outside Paige and Ethan's old house. Paige tells Jack that Brad and Lauren came looking for her here once – she can't imagine what would have happened if they didn't.
JACK: I like to think that things will work out how they're meant to.
Paige keeps checking her phone and Jack gently reminds her that constantly looking at it won't make it ring.
Piper and Ben have tagged along to keep an eye on Tyler (who has changed into a suit pants and shirt combo) and Verity, who Tyler identifies from a photo Adrian texted him. While Piper and Ben play pool, Tyler goes up to where Verity's sitting at the bar and introduces himself as ‘Nathan', wasting no time making small talk with her. Verity accepts his offer of a drink and says they should make themselves more comfortable over on the couches. Ben asks Piper if she's OK but she just gives a quick nod and tight smile, obviously not OK at all.
Elly tells Tia and her two friends off about they way they treated Kirsha, asking them what happened to sisterhood and solidarity. She makes them apologise to Kirsha and then says the three of them are on detention for the rest of the week. Tia is seething, even more so when she finds out Xanthe dobbed them in to Elly.
Verity is getting a bit suss that Tyler is asking her a lot of questions, but Tyler just says he's trying to figure out what his plans might be the rest of the day. Verity suggests they head up to her room so Tyler says he'll grab the bill and meet her outside. At the bar, Tyler and Piper have a quick chat and Tyler says he needs to look for clues in Verity's room to see if someone else has been in there with her. Piper sighs and tells him to be careful then returns to Ben and fills him in. Piper says if Tyler doesn't find anything in Verity's room then she's not sure what else they're supposed to do.
Paige tells Jack that returning here has been an eye opener. She used to have a chip on her shoulder about how bad her life was, but she realises now it was pretty good.
PAIGE: I was just always searching for something. Like I had something missing.
JACK: Well that's something that we'll always have in common, apart from Gabe. I actually understand that feeling of not knowing who you are.
They reminisce about Paige helping Jack when he was John Doe and how they got even closer when they went to Geelong. Paige says they're so lucky to have Gabe in their lives and that Jack was right earlier about everything turning out like it's meant to. Jack smiles at her and then says they better go and see if Fay's at work.
Xanthe thinks that Elly's stopped her to let her know Kirsha got home safely, but Elly's actually received a phone call from someone telling her Xanthe's been selling alcohol at school. Xanthe vehemently denies it, and Elly agrees that she didn't think there'd be any truth behind it. Xanthe even willingly offers up her bag for Elly to search, but lo and behold, there are mini bottles of alcohol in there. Elly takes Xanthe to her office while Tia stands in the background, smirking.
Verity invites Tyler into her room and tells him to grab some drinks for them while she freshens up in the bathroom. While she's gone, Tyler rummages through her belongings but Verity catches him red handed. It turns out she's known he's been trying to play her all along. She tells him that when she's had enough of her husband keeping tabs on her she escapes to a hotel for a while.
VERITY: I'm here for me, not for boys like you.
TYLER: OK, so why did you let me in?
VERITY: I can see that you're not used to whatever you thought you were doing. That's why I thought we should have this private chat. Why don't you tell me your real name?
TYLER: Tyler. Tyler Brennan. You've probably seen it in the papers.
VERITY: Any relation to Mark Brennan?
TYLER: Yeah he's my brother.
VERITY: I'm sorry, I don't know what my husband wants with you, but you should know your brother was the cop who put him in jail.
Paige is on the phone to Aaron letting him know that Fay took some time off work for the trial but she hasn't been back since. She has no idea where Mark and his mother are. Frustrated, Paige hangs up and asks Jack why Mark is freezing her out like this. On cue, Paige receives a text from an unknown number, which turns out to be Mark. He tells her that he's sorry he hasn't called but he's on his way home now – he has something urgent to do.
JACK: What does he mean by that?
PAIGE: I don't know. First he goes silent on me and then he sends me a message on a different phone. What's going on?
The Waterhole/Lassiter's Hotel
Piper's freaking out because Tyler's taking too long with Verity and she thinks that something's happened to him. Ben's trying to calm her down when Toadie arrives and asks if they've seen Tyler, “I've got some big news.”
Meanwhile, Tyler's freaking out that Banks is doing all of this for revenge. Verity is sympathetic but she says Tyler's only hope is if his lawyer gets him off the charges. When Tyler leaves the room he gets a phone call from Piper, who has some important news to relay.
TYLER: Pipes there's nothing we can do.
PIPER: It doesn't matter anymore because you're not going to jail!
TYLER: Wait a minute slow down, what are you talking about?
PIPER: Someone else has confessed to killing Hamish.
