Mark – in plain clothes - is waiting to speak to Christina as soon as she comes out of the interview room. He wants to talk to her about Louise as a lot of question marks have arisen about her. In Louise's coffee cup there were traces of peanut oil. Her epi pen wasn't found on her even though she has a severe allergy. Christina won't let him take him further so Mark says he'll do so when he starts work. Christina tells Mark about the harassment claim against him that was made this afternoon. Mark is stunned. Mark asks if Hamish made the complaint and Christina reminds him that the complainant needs to be anonymous. Mark explains that Hamish has been visiting Louise and it seems to be more than nurse and patient. Christina explains another Officer will handle this and they won't say anymore about it. Mark agrees reluctantly.
Sonya is coaching Nell in what to say when they go trick or treating. They also need to hide the treats when they return from Toadie! Karl arrives with his produce from his garden. He apologises for having no durians, he was just about to harvest them!
TOADIE: (Dry wit) That's a real shame.
Sonya is wondering if Karl is trying to butter her up about the prize money and Karl acts innocently. He then starts spurting how wonderful it would be to have the research hospital wing. When he retires he wants to leave it behind as a legacy. She wants a pitch document which Karl agrees to. He heads off and Sonya reminds him to take the produce with him as she doesn't want it to be seen as a bribe! Toadie tells her with her new powers she doesn't need a Halloween costume as she is scary!
Tyler and Hamish are on the boat. Tyler is telling Hamish that Aaron is off to a fitness convention in France. Tyler comments it's unusual for Aaron not to say more than that. Hamish questions how Aaron can afford it as business isn't going well, Tyler isn't sure of the answer. Hamish suggests Tyler talks Aaron out of it but Aaron has already left for France. Hamish comments that Aaron didn't say goodbye and hopes Mark isn't influencing Aaron's attitude. Tyler wants Mark to rest the attitude or he will be moving out for good. Hamish tells Tyler about the harassment complaint as Mark has been following him. Tyler wants to know if Hamish is really sure, Hamish points out he wouldn't do it if he wasn't really sure. Mark has questioned Hamish's reasons for visiting Louise, the wellness centre donation plus Mark's reaction to Hamish and Tyler spending more time together. Tyler asks if Mark has threatened Hamish. Hamish says that Mark has tried to intimidate him and when Hamish is on his own. Hamish reminds Tyler that he ended up in hospital when they last had an argument. Tyler says he understands about the complaint. He also would have understood if Hamish had reported Mark over what happened. Hamish thanks Tyler and appreciates his support.
Karl and Susan are sitting at a table and Susan is working on her laptop. Dipi brings their drinks over and comments a PowerPoint presentation crossed her mind but it seems it would be more theatrical! Karl is confused what they're talking about, Susan explains they're talking about the Liveability Fund. Karl reminds Susan she claimed she was doing schoolwork, Susan points out the money would go to the School Welfare Programme if they won the money. Karl is still convinced that the Research Wing would benefit everyone whereas the Welfare Programme would benefit the students. Dipi wants the money to go to community based initiatives as so much funding goes to schools and hospitals. She wants to do Starlight Express which they did where they used to live and that's her dream for Erinsborough. Dipi heads off to the kitchen.
Karl thinks that the drama group wouldn't need the money as they have lots of volunteers. Susan comments it could contribute to Jack's salary. Karl points out that Jack's handsome looks are the only reason he's popular. Susan denies this. Karl is still convinced, the same happens when the practitioner is attractive. People will make up false ailments to see the practitioner. Karl knows this himself apparently! Karl doubts if it will be the same when time has passed. Susan refuses to let him talk her out of this.
Wellness Centre Reception
Steph is saying that renovations were more expensive than they planned for but the donation has covered that. Amy tells them it's time to go ahead as the rest of the money has come through today. Amy's phone rings and she says she needs to take it outside. Jack apologises that due to his new job he can't help out as much as promised. Steph reassures him that it's ok. Steph is glad it's working out for him but stops to listen to what Amy is saying. Amy is telling the person she'll go to them next week rather than they come to her. Amy finishes the call. She comes to tell Steph and Jack she's going to check on the guys and leaves.
Jack and Steph both think the mystery donor rang. Jack reassures Steph that Amy promised nothing dodgy is going on and thinks Steph should trust Amy. Steph reminds Jack that Amy hasn't Steph enough to confide in her. Steph points out the donor wants to remain anonymous is due to the scandal about the drugs. Steph is determined to sort out the drug scandal and find out who the mystery donor is. Jack asks if the police know. The police know but it's not high on their priority list. Jack suggests that Steph rings Mark to help things along.
Mark comes in and Hamish and Tyler are sitting at a table. Tyler tells Mark he shouldn't think he can hassle Hamish just because he is a cop. Mark asks Hamish who else he has been following. Hamish claims that he is telling the truth. Mark insists that Hamish is lying. Hamish is actually refusing to answer the questions Mark is asking. Tyler tells Mark to stop doing this and Mark leaves their table. Tyler asks Hamish if he's ok, Hamish is.
HAMISH: I'm just sorry that he's so... so threatened by me.
Hamish says that Tyler is getting to know his real father whereas Mark's memories of Russell are bad. Hamish suggests that Mark is bitter and jealous. Tyler doesn't think that Mark should take it out on Hamish. Tyler tells Hamish that Mark has had tunnel vision but slightly different each time. When pressed, Tyler explains that Mark destroyed evidence so Sonya wasn't implicated in the Backpackers incident. Tyler adds that Sonya still confessed but Mark was convinced his instincts were right. Mark wasn't right though. Tyler vows not to put up with it. Mark watches Hamish and Tyler leave.
Time has passed and Toadie and Mark are standing by a table. Toadie is stunned about the harassment complaint. Mark thinks Hamish did it after Mark complained about Louise and Hamish has done this to stop Mark digging. Mark is nearly sure that Louise and Hamish have history together. Toadie isn't too worried as Mark hasn't been threatening or following Hamish. Mark points out that Hamish has done this to protect himself. Mark is worried that Tyler still believes Hamish after everything. Mark wants to tell Tyler everything that has happened but things are tense between them. Toadie's phone beeps, Sonya's waiting for him. Toadie warns Mark he needs to be certain he's right before he does anything else. Toadie leaves.
Steph arrives and asks Mark if he knows anything about the drugs found at the Wellness Centre. Mark explains he's not on the case so he can't help her. Mark explains the police are treating it as low priority if they haven't contacted her. Steph points out that the Wellness Centre's reputation is damaged until the person responsible is caught. The Centre really needs donors to keep going and the situation is affecting the donors. Mark agrees to look into making it high priority.
Toadie arrives and joins Sonya and Jack at their table. Sonya is telling Jack she wasn't expecting to be put in charge of so much prize money. Jack points out that she also has a lot of responsibility.
Bec comes over and mentions she couldn't find Jack in his office at school. Jack explains he's not in today so asks if they can discuss it tomorrow. Bec agrees and goes to leave. Jack gets up and offers to talk on the way back to school. Jack and Bec leave. Toadie and Sonya are impressed with Jack's dedication to the job, especially as Jack has left half a muffin on his plate!
Karl and Susan come over. Sonya tells them about how Jack is going to help Bec. Susan agrees Jack is dedicated and Karl comments that the students seem to flock to him. Sonya thinks if she had a counsellor in High School it would have helped her. Sonya points out it will help the school's chances with the Liveability Fund. Karl suggests that Susan put a picture of Jack on her application to help it along! Susan suggests doing the same with Karl's application plus naming it the Jack Callahan Wing. Karl wants it to be called the Karl Kennedy Wing! They both head off.
Wellness Centre Reception
Mark has come to tell Steph that unfortunately there are no obvious suspects and nobody witnessed the drop. Mark asks Steph to look at the mugshots on his tablet to see if she recognises any of the dealers as the person who did the drop. Mark comments there's a big price tag on the cannabis involved so he doesn't think it was an accident. Steph wryly comments they didn't leave a gift card and no one has asked for payment. Mark wonders if the person intended to hurt the reputation of the Centre. Steph recognises a guy on the tablet as Jamie Hyatt. Jamie and a guest were doing a dodgy deal. Steph tells Mark she stepped outside and came back to see him looking behind the Reception desk. Mark tells Steph that Jamie has a lot of offences that are drug related. Steph wants to know why he left the stuff here. Mark will find Jamie and talk to him. Mark leaves.
Susan is telling Ben over the phone he'll need to go to the exam in West Warratah by bus. Karl and Susan aren't able to drive him there. Bec and Jack have just arrived. Bec tries to hug Jack and he tells her it's not such a good idea. Jack explains to Susan that he walked Bec back to school and talked to her on the way back. Susan asks whose idea it was. Jack tells Susan it was his decision and he'll have one less student tomorrow. Susan tells him he's popular with the female students. Jack tells her he knows the boundaries and he told Bec that hugging isn't allowed. He won't keep doing it outside of his work hours either. Susan comments that Bec looks happier now after their chat. Jack leaves to write up his notes.
Mark is asking the man behind the desk about Jamie whom apparently goes to a treatment programme here on Tuesdays. Mark is pleased to find Jamie himself coming towards him. Mark introduces himself and tells Jamie he has a few questions for him. When questioned Jamie denies knowing anything about Robinsons Motel. Mark tells him that the owner has seen him twice on the premises. Jamie admits a friend stayed there once. When questioned about being found behind the Reception desk, Jamie claims he was looking for a pen, nothing was stolen. Jamie denies being involved in the illegal substance being left there, he read about it in the paper. He claims to not know anything else and needs to get his meds. Jamie heads off.
Karl watches Jamie go and asks if Mark is here about complaints, Mark looks blankly at Karl. Karl explains that Jamie has been outside the hospital asking for money. Karl also saw Jamie helping out Hamish a few weeks ago which surprises Mark. (There's a flashback to Karl seeing Hamish and Jamie outside the hospital.) Karl tells Mark it was the day Hamish was meant to have his MRI. Mark asks Karl for the exact date so Karl goes to find it.
Wellness Centre Reception
Mark tells Steph and Amy that Jamie denies dropping off the cannabis. He tells them that on the morning of the showcase Jamie and Hamish were seen talking outside the hospital. Mark doesn't know what they were talking about. Mark points out that it was the same day Hamish was meant to be revealed as the donor of the Wellness Centre. Mark is wondering if Jamie or Hamish planted the stuff. It would have got the press interested and Hamish wouldn't have to donate as promised. Amy is sceptical but Steph understands where Mark is coming from.
STEPH: I told Hamish we were discussing the option of becoming a dispensary for medicinal cannabis.
Steph also told Hamish donors could be put off by this fact. Amy wonders if Hamish would have said he wanted to pull his donation. Steph points out that Hamish has been denying his payments all this time. Mark says that the same drug that was mentioned arrived at the Wellness Centre. Amy tells them that Hamish is going to double his donation but Mark thinks that Hamish is just saying that. Steph wonders if Amy's mystery benefactor can come up with more money but Amy isn't sure about this. Amy wonders if they should talk to Hamish. Mark explains that Hamish has claimed Mark is harassing him. Mark needs to tread carefully. Mark is going to look for more evidence.
Hamish goes to pay for something. Dipi explains that the system isn't working so he'll need to enter his pin. Hamish claims he doesn't need the calories and leaves the item behind. Dipi wants to have Hamish's willpower!
Mark wasn't expecting Tyler to be home, Tyler is doing his laundry. Mark tells Tyler that he isn't harassing Hamish, Tyler asks why Hamish has complained then. Mark points out that the reason is Mark has picked holes in Hamish's story: Hamish is stopping Mark from finding more holes. Mark wonders why Hamish is staying on the boat when he's a big property lawyer. Tyler reminds Mark that Hamish is spending time with him, he never knew Tyler existed. Mark wonders if Hamish isn't as successful as he claims to be. Tyler thinks Hamish hasn't tried to hurt Mark so wants to know why Mark has it in for Hamish. Mark reminds Tyler that Hamish has hurt their friends.
When Tyler wants to know more, Mark tells Tyler he thinks Hamish planted the stash to give bad press and withhold his donation. Mark promises not to talk about it again if he's wrong. Mark wouldn't forgive himself for not warning Tyler if he's right. Mark tells Tyler that a known dealer was seen with Hamish just before the Open Day happened. Hamish held back on making the donation. Tyler reminds Mark that Hamish was sorting things out, Mark is more dubious. Tyler points out that Hamish has money.
Mark also thinks that Hamish is involved with the nurse in the coma. A woman has been sending him threatening letters from France. Tyler thinks Mark is unhinged. Mark tells Tyler that the letters were found by Aaron in Hamish's briefcase. Tyler realises that is the reason Aaron is in France. Fay, Mark and Aaron are all worried. Fay is coming to see Hamish herself. They're doing this because they don't trust Hamish and they love Tyler. Mark tells Tyler to be careful until things are sorted out.
Hamish is telling the woman Alicia not to call him again, plus to stop sending him letters. Tyler arrives and hears about the letters. Hamish claims the call was from a business associate. Hamish suggests going to Sorrento. Tyler can't be away for too long though as Fay is coming. Hamish agrees they need to catch up on a lot of things. Hamish offers Tyler a beer but he's going to put his laundry away.
Tyler looks in the briefcase. He tries looking on the laptop but doesn't get anywhere. He sees a piece of paper with Piper's name at the top. Hamish asks what's going on and Tyler asks what the pieces of paper are.
