- Leo inviting Amy to the beach house with him.
- David discovering his mum worked at the Erins Burrow motel many years ago, when the Udagawa's owned it.
- David wondering if Scott Robinson is his dad after seeing a picture of him and his mum in an Erinsborough High year book.
- Ben telling Elly about comments about her online.
- Elly confronting Finn about the comments and pushing him away causing him to fall down a flight of stairs.
Erinsborough hospital
Dr Carson finishes patching Finn up with 4 stitches and warns him about the symptoms of concussion in case he develops it. Susan arrives after hearing about the accident and Finn tries to play down what happened but Xanthe (who was assisting the doc with the medical advice) blurts out that he was pushed by Elly. "It's not a big deal," Finn tries to say as she glowers at her niece hiding away in the corner of the room.
Outside in the corridor, Elly immediately comes clean with her aunt and admits responsibility. Susan isn't impressed especially because of the rumours on the kids' forum and Elly explains that she thinks they were put up by Finn and she was confronting him about it when the incident occurred. Susan wants to know what his motivation is to posting the info and the only thing that Elly can come up with is that Finn has been deliberately winding her up since he arrived and has tried to talk her out of going to the conference. Susan backs Finn up as feedback from the conference is it's a waste of time.
ELLY: This is what he does, he comes up with a cover story. Suse, you have to believe me he is responsible for that forum post.
Susan agrees to look into it but warns her that Finn has every right to make a professional (or criminal) complaint against her.
ELLY: I know I shouldn't have pushed him but he knows how to push my buttons.
Xanthe has overheard that bit of her chat with Susan and confronts her teacher about it.
XANTHE: So it was deliberate, you meant to hurt Mr Kelly?
Beach
As they walk along the beach, Amy is glad that Leo persuaded her to come as she is enjoying herself. When their chat is interrupted by their phones going off (work related), Leo suggests that they switch their phones off and take a holiday especially after Amy admitted she's never had a holiday because she has to "carry her office around in her pocket." Simultaneously, they both switch their phones off.
LEO: Cheers to being offline.
AMY: Cheers!
Tanaka apartment
David arrives home and wants to know why Kim kept quiet about working at the motel. Kim explains she was just a part-time cleaner and Mr Udagawa was an investor so never actually saw him. He confronts her about the key they found but she doesn't know anything about it and when David asks if she was using the motel to meet up with a boyfriend..."maybe Scott Robinson." Kim wants to know where he got the yearbook from but he ignores that and demands to know if she was dating Scott. "For a little while," she admits but refuses to say more, telling him to "leave it" and leaves the apartment.
Number 28
Toadie is spending time with Nell by trying to build a castle to his design (using cushions as a roof instead of the blanket Mark would have used) but it fails however Nell seems to find it amusing enough and she's quick to remind her dad a blanket would have been better!
The Waterhole
Kim is telling Paul that she can't get David to stop searching and confirms that he knows Bradley isn't their father. She also tells Paul that David has found out about her dating Scott too and Paul wonders if the boys will contact him. "I wouldn't put it past them," Kim replies so Paul agrees to contact his brother and give him a heads up.
PAUL: Kim, what I don't understand is why you kept this such a big secret all of these years.
KIM: I was ashamed and I didn't want my boys to feel that way too.
Lassiters Complex
Off screen, Elly has given Xanthe an edited version of her history with Finn and she does seem somewhat sympathic now towards her teacher before she leaves to go see Ben.
Before she goes to make Elly's order up, Piper comes clean and admits she was the one responsible for the comments in the online forum. Piper explains though that it was Bec Simmons who actually wrote it after overhearing her spout off in the aftermath of Elly messing up Tyler's job. After Piper heads inside to get Elly's order, she gets out her mobile to call Susan to admit she's made a huge mistake.
Lassiters Park
Toadie and Nell are fairy hunting in the park but instead of finding fairies they find Mark instead! Nell wants him to join in but given the circumstances he doesn't want to and instead appeases her with hunting for fairies is a two-person job and promises to come over and see her later to see the fairies she's caught.
Hospital
Susan and Elly arrive to talk to Finn regarding what he wants to do over what Elly did. Elly sincerely apologises and she is very much relieved to hear he isn't pressing charges, he just wants to put it all behind them.
Lassiters Complex
David admits his frustration at not getting the right answers from his mum to Aaron as they sit having a beer in The Waterhole beer garden. Aaron reveals the result of his conversation with a former classmate of their mum's, Sue Parker - she said that Kim was a bit of a loner at school and that there was a scandal involving his mum, Scott and Danny Ramsay and a tape recording. "A scandal?" David asks and Aaron confirms yes and not long after Kim left school and never returned. Aaron suggests they try tracking down Danny but David thinks that Scott is the one with the answers. David is hesitant of calling when he isn't totally sure so Aaron suggests talking instead to Paul, give they were brothers, so he might know more.
DAVID: Which means Paul's my Uncle.
Beach
Over fish and chips, which Amy makes clear she doesn't want reimbursing for, Leo opens up to her over his inability to trust anyone other than David after being continually let down. Amy admits she was the same then asks why he allowed her to invest in the backpackers? "You're different, in a good way," is his reply and Amy then asks if his "lone wolf philosophy" applies to the person as well as the profession?
LEO: Broken hearts aren't really my style, I don't know, rather avoid the whole thing all together.
AMY: So you never want to fall in love?
LEO: Never, it's not worth it.
Number 22
Elly escorts Finn home where he's met by his very concerned landlady but he reassures Terese he is okay and doesn't need anything, before she heads upstairs. She wants to know why he's letting her off the hook and he is insistent it was simply an accident and that he only cares about two things in this world - teaching and Elly. "Impossible," she replies after how he treated her at their last school. Finn tries to suggest that what happened in Sydney was a mistake too just like the forum post.
FINN: I didn't sabotage your presentation, I would never hurt you like that, I love you too much, always have.
ELLY: After we broke up, you treated me like a crazy ex-girlfriend. Why didn't you tell me how you felt?
FINN: Because I was married and I was scared but I'm neither anymore. The biggest mistake of my life was letting you go, that's why I came here.
Elly is quick to comment that he originally said that it was "a coincidence," and he admits that he was unsure of how she'd think of him.
FINN: But the truth is I came here to try and win you back.
Elly asks for space, which he agrees to, and as he goes to walk her home he literally collapses to the floor. She rushes to his side and tries to rouse him from his unconscious state.
Number 30
Toadie brings Nell home and is surprised to see Mark in the house. He explains he was fixing a tap and that Sonya is resting in her bedroom. Toadie isn't too amused at him being in the house and wants Mark to relay a request to Sonya from Nell for a sleepover at #28.
Hospital
Finn explains to Elly/Terese that the doc just thinks he stood up too soon but seconds later the Dr Carson is back to take Finn away for some tests, "just being ultra-cautious," he adds before leaving the room.
Elly tries to get Terese to leave but before she does, she wants reassurance about what is going on given that the pair of them seem to have some serious conflict.
ELLY: I thought Finn lied to me, to everyone, pretending to be this great guy who was only ever out for himself.
TERESE: But you were wrong?
ELLY: (nodding) Yes, I think I was.
Lassiters Complex
Lauren comes out to collect Toadie's empty cup and asks how things are going at #28 and he admits he prefers hanging out at Harold's because it's depressing.
LAUREN: Yes, it must be strange living back there.
TOADIE: No, it's worse than strange, it's like it's a nightmare. I mean my house is still there, my wife is still there, my kid is still there and I'm not part of it.
LAUREN: Look, it's going to take a while but you will find a new rhythm.
She then asks how Sonya is and Toadie replies that he doesn't know as when he took Nell home, Mark was there. "What's going on there?" he asks and Lauren replies back "nothing" and puts him asking if Mark is round a lot down to them being friends and that Sonya needs a lot of support because she is "hurting in a way that you can't even imagine."
Meanwhile at another table, Aaron arrives to explain to David why they can't get hold of Amy - Steph told him that she's gone away for the night with Leo. "You don't think...?" David remarks and although Aaron replies that he doesn't know, but the impression Steph gave him was that Amy thinks something might happen.
DAVID: They don't know. They can't get involved, not if they are cousins?!
It then dawns on Aaron what if something has already happened!!!
Beach
Thankfully it would appear nothing has happened because Amy's giving Leo the silent treatment! He wants to know why and she replies that their conversation earlier has made her think how different they are.
AMY: I've had my share of messy break-ups. The last guy I went out with, Kyle, I thought he was the one and I was devastated when it ended. But I could never be like you, just deciding to never to fall in love, it's so pragmatic. I mean, and I get it, if you don't out yourself out there you can't get hurt but is that any way to live?
LEO: At least I'm still in control... well I was until I met you.
AMY: Me?
LEO: Amy, I've trying not to fall for you since day one. Look, I don't expect you to feel the same way, I mean especially after what I put you through.
AMY: I think if you close yourself off from what you really want then you'll never be fully happy.
The pair then lean in and pash each other.
Hospital
While Finn is reading a letter addressed to a Dr Pasindar (from Dr Carson), Xanthe comes in and lets rip at Finn about what he did to Elly although he pleads that only "part of it is true." She isn't caring because he "isn't the guy I thought you were," and informs him that he can't tutor her if it's going to upset Elly. "I understand," he replies then tells her that he/Elly have talked and thinks they can put their history behind them. Finn then tells her it would be a shame if he couldn't tutor her especially as she has a bright, brilliant future ahead of her.
FINN: Please, let me help you realise it.
She keeps him waiting for her reply but when it comes, it's to say he can continue to tutor her but it comes with a warning...
XANTHE: Miss Conway is my girl and I will be keeping a very close eye on you to make sure that you don't hurt her.
Once Xanthe leaves, Finn turns his attention back to the letter and then scrunches it up into a ball but looks upset at whatever the letter contained.
Tanaka apartment
Paul finishes the call to his brother and tells Kim that he knows and is supportive. David arrives home and is surprised to see Paul there before asking if he's seen Amy (no) and then telling his mum that he was wrong, that Amy does like Leo... a lot. Cue a very worried look on Paul's face and that was before David continues telling his mum that Leo and Amy have gone away together. This time its cue the worried look on Kim's face as Paul asks where they are at but David replies he doesn't know except it's by a beach.
Aaron (who also entered with David) pipes up to say he thinks he's found something - it's a piece of paper with an address down the coast on it that Leo wrote down. "Come on let's go," Paul tells Kim and both depart the apartment.
Unmissable drama
- David telling Aaron he's been waiting his whole life to find out about his dad.
- "All that's missing is someone to share it with," Amy tells Leo.
- Elly telling Susan about what Finn said to her (that he loved her).
- Xanthe giving Elly a pep talk about how important love is.
- Toadie/Sonya arguing over how much time she's spending with Mark.
