- Paul contacting Tim with a story.
- Leo informing Paul exactly who wrote the proposal.
- Gary reckoning he'd know if he was being conned.
- Trey coming to collect his money from Brooke.
Number 26
Brooke tries going for the sweetness and like routine with Trey but he's not having any of it, he's still bitter about her ripping him off. Xanthe interrupts to say she wants to know that her dad isn't being ripped off either.
Cue titles!
Number 26
Xanthe tells her mum why she thinks she is ripping Gary off but Brooke denies the allegations however is forced to hand over some of the money Trey is due. Even though it's not all he's owed, Trey is satisfied with what was handed over and despite Xanthe's plea, leaves before he can compare notes with Gary, to prove her theory about Brooke was correct.
BROOKE: I promise you, I came back because I missed you. It's just...
XANTHE: Complicated?!
Xanthe then demands her mum tells her the whole truth.
The Waterhole
Paul finds Tim in the bar and does his best to persuade him to pull the story however Tim is willing to be persuaded if Terese comes to pay him a visit.
Tanaka apartment
David isn't too happy to find out about his brother playing Paul/Terese especially as it could mean them being kicked out of their home but Leo thinks they are okay. One person who is being kicked out though is Elly! David can't believe the bet and Elly justifies her actions as her protecting Amy.
DAVID: Why are you being such a jerk?
LEO: Just living up to everyone's general expectation of me.
The Waterhole
Amy is bending Aaron's ears about the bet and he reassures her that she isn't an idiot, its Leo who is the idiot for how he treated her.
AMY: Can we never not be mates?
AARON: Oh babes, I think you're stuck with me for life... too bad!
Meanwhile, Sheila is asking questions about the money Gary deposited so she can persuade Xanthe to do the same. "I gave it to Brooke," goes down like a lead balloon with Sheila and she calls him "a fool," even though he thinks he can trust Brooke.
Number 26
Brooke tries to explain to Xanthe that she has to go away because she was ashamed. She also explains that she only went to Perth because of an offer Jesse's dad although it didn't work out too well so turned to selling jewellery. However, that involved paying $12k for the samples, which she could pay off but because the jewellery was difficult to move, she struggled paying it back hence why the company are coming down hard on her. Xanthe thinks if she'd told them they could have helped pay the debt off.
BROOKE: You don't understand, the jewellery is fake.
"What?" Xanthe replies and Brooke explains that the samples are legit, including her ring, but when the orders arrive they are fakes. Xanthe isn't amused at her friends being ripped off before taking her ring off and handing it to her mum to sell "because you obviously need the money."
BROOKE: I just wanted to prove I wasn't useless.
XANTHE: Mum, you're not useless, you just end up in bad situations sometimes but I don't think going to Perth is the answer.
Brooke then says that the flights aren't for Perth, they're for Adelaide where she can start afresh, unknown and wants Xanthe to come with her too.
Tanaka apartment
Leo isn't too surprised to hear that their mum isn't coming to GG's funeral, she is apparently still holding a 30-year grudge! David also broke the news to their mum that they aren't returning to Sydney as they want to find their father and suggests to his brother that their mum all but confirmed that Bradley was their father from the reaction she gave when he told her about him.
LEO: I bet she's feeling guilty hey? Think about it, all those years she's told us he's a doctor but he's a dero. This day couldn't get any worse!
Harold's Café
Paul explains to Terese the reason she is meeting him - that he gave Tim the story of Brad/Maxine and lets her know it was Leo who put the mystery tender in. She is as stunned as Paul was on hearing the news and will take care of him later, Tim is the priority now. Paul explains that Tim thinks she can offer him something to pull the story, although she isn't sure what that could be.
Number 26
Brooke is putting the pressure on Xanthe to pack up quickly, the taxi is coming in five minutes! Xanthe is stalling partially as she wants to say bye to the others but also because she is having a hard time trusting her mum. "It won't happen again," Brooke pleads and points out she can help keep her on the straight and narrow. Xanthe isn't having that, it's not her role to look after her mum. "I've got no-one," Brooke now whines and reminds Xanthe of the fun the pair of them had previously.
BROOKE: We can have that again, you just have to give me another chance.
Xanthe goes to call her dad/Gran to come home and discuss things but Brooke is embarrassed to face them. "See this is why I don't know if I can trust you," Xanthe tells her mum - she doesn't like the fact she wants to run rather than facing her responsibilities.
BROOKE: Please don't be upset with me.
XANTHE: I'm not mum, I just don't know what to do.
Xanthe wants time to think about things but that's not an option Brooke replies but Xanthe is standing firm, she needs "time to think or I am not coming with you."
Lassiters Complex
Elly is having a quite coffee when Aaron spots her to tell her the bet she made with Leo wasn't cool. "It wasn't meant to be about Amy," it was about putting cocky Leo in his place she tries to explain. "At Amy's expense?" Aaron asks and Elly admits she didn't think Amy would be interested in Leo.
ELLY: Leo actually really likes her and now I feel like I've ruined things for them.
Aaron has calmed down after hearing that and suggests she talks to Amy and explains everything she knows and perhaps might turn things around for them.
Harold's Café
Terese and Brad wait for Tim to arrive to hear what he wants, although Brad still wants what Ned did kept quiet but she points out that might not be an option now! "Time to do damage control," she tells her ex when she spots Tim arriving in the café.
Tim swaps places with Brad and tells Terese what his payment is for keeping quiet - he wants the footage Piper has returned. Terese doesn't want to involve her daughter and Tim tries to warm her that Piper "is unpredictable and has a bad habit of uploading footage to the internet."
TERESE: Well maybe you should stop getting caught on tape!
He demands the footage and his tender being resubmitting or the story gets published. Terese concedes... but he gets the footage in 3 days. "Deal," Tim declares but warns Terese that she has to deliver otherwise everyone knows what she/Brad are covering up.
The Waterhole
Amy declares she's had enough of her dad talking about Leo as they enter the bar. While he goes gets the drinks in, Elly catches her to try and explain about Leo even though she knows Amy would not rather see her just now.
"What Leo and I did was so wrong," Elly begins with but Amy isn't ready to accept her apology nor have this conversation. Elly continues and tries to explain to her that Leo isn't dating her for the bet, he really likes her. "He really likes to win, there's a difference," is Amy's stance and Elly tries to plead to give Leo the opportunity explain. Amy asks her to stop because she "doesn't care how much he claims to like me, I'm not interested in a guy who makes a bet like that and thinks it's okay."
Paul comes over to them curious to know what this bet they are talking about is...
Number 28
Xanthe barges in looking for Ben or Elly but only finds Angus home. "What's going on?" he asks so quickly she tells him about her mum scamming them, and that she got caught, and now there a taxi is waiting to take them to the airport where they'll fly to Adelaide to live there forever. She is kicking herself for not believing what Ben/Elly were trying to tell her and admits that she isn't sure what to do. Angus tries to point out a positive - her mum wants her with her, which Xanthe gets and adds that she feels sorry for her mum and the mess she's gotten herself into.
XANTHE: Angus, I don't know what to do. I want to stay here, this is my home.
Angus doesn't want her to leave and adds that Ben will be devastated if she goes. Xanthe is really torn over what to do, and who to leave behind but it looks like the decision has been made for her when the yellow taxi departs from the street.
XANTHE: She's left without me.
The Waterhole
Terese takes great delight in telling Leo that "he's fired," although Leo anticipated that was coming and brushes aside her warning that he knows nothing about the industry should his tender win. "Well see, but a word of advice though - you're undervaluing Sheila, she's got a lot more potential than you realise." Terese is surprised at Leo changing his tune but given he is no longer her consultant, couldn't care less what he thinks!
TERESE: We're done.
Paul interrupts to say he's not done and lambasts Leo for making a bet to get his daughter into bed. "That's disgraceful," Terese declares and Paul points out he's now got two enemies.
PAUL: You mess with me, that's fine, its business, but the moment you involve Amy, then its personal.
Tanaka apartment
Leo heads straight for a beer when he comes home after his serve from Paul. David offers his brother no sympathy but does advise him to tell Amy how he feels. "She's done with me man," Leo explains and has taken to heart that he is exactly as GG described him as - "a rat."
The Brasserie, exterior
Paul and Terese are having a celebratory meal over their joint hatred over what Leo has done to Amy although she does remind Paul of the bet he made with her brother for Georgia! Paul must have grown up as he remarks he couldn't see himself doing something like that these days!
TERESE: What, you're a full man?
PAUL: Well I know I'm not perfect, but I'm trying okay!
Paul then apologises for taking the story to Tim and while Terese isn't ready to brush off what he did, she isn't going to tear strips off him either because he has tried to fix things...and is in a happy mood after getting Tim to back off. He wants to know how she did that and tells him about the footage Piper has although getting it might be tricky because she doesn't want to ask her daughter outright for it. "You'll think of something," Paul tells her and listens as Terese suggests they team up together to beat Leo for the Men's Shed tender.
PAUL: You and me working together?!
She points out that he already knows her plans for the place, something that Erinsborough is desperate for apparently. "Alright," Paul agrees but wants to know which name it will go under and Terese suggests neither Lassiters/Robinsons but a personal venture between them - Willis/Robinson Exclusive where everything earned will be split 50-50. "I like the sound of that," Paul replies.
TERESE: So, are you in?
PAUL: (offering his hand) Did you even need to ask?
Number 26
Xanthe is very surprised to see her mum sitting on the sofa when she returns home. Brooke explains she sent the taxi away as she couldn't leave until she knew for definite if Xanthe was coming with her. "Have you had a chance to think about it?" Brooke asks but before Xanthe gets a chance to reply, the newly arrived Sheila and Gary reply for her!
SHEILA: Yes she did, and she's not going to Adelaide.
GARY: Over our dead bodies!
XANTHE: I'm sorry mum, I just had to tell them everything.
