Rotunda
Terese has shown Brad the video Piper did for Tyler and both now wish they hadn't consented to letting them go together to the formal but equally don't wish to be seen to flip-flopping decisions. Eventually they relent after Brad promises to keep an extra close eye on them.

TERESE: After tonight, no more Tyler!

Number 22
Accompanied by "Easy to Love" (Tyler's request!), Piper makes her way downstairs being photographed by Madison (she's been hired to take photos of the formal) but the lassie is more interested in finding her mobile phone than in being photographed.

Number 24 backyard
Mark adjusts Tyler's tie for him and reminds him that he needs to be a good boy no matter what Piper might try as he promised his word to Terese. "Yes dad," he replies but he's fully on board with that plan.

Number 28
Ben hears/acknowledge the rules for the evening from his Grandma and she tentatively asks if he's going to the formal with Xanthe as a couple or as an escort? He replies that they aren't a couple...yet but might be by the end of the night. Susan isn't exactly thrilled at that prospect but promises to keep her thoughts quiet.

Ramsay Street
Gary/Sheila await Xanthe's arrival at the bottom of the #26 driveway and are impressed with how she's dolled up. They are joined by Ben/Susan after walking over from #28 and Ben presents her with a corsage. Everyone is stunned with the huge stretch limo Ben has organised (just for an hour though!) and after some final photos the couple head into the limo.

Melbourne
The pair enjoy themselves in the limo as they tour round Melbourne.

Number 22
Tyler is impressed at the outfit Piper has on for the formal. However, he isn't pleased with the plan Piper has for the evening - that tonight is the night for them even though it goes against the promise they made to Terese. She thinks that after it happens tonight, it will convince her parents that they should be allowed to date properly. Tyler tries to let her down by reminding her that her dad is taking her home but she's making it clear that she wants it to happen tonight, even if it means sneaking out.

TERESE: You're busted sweetheart.

They've been caught big style by Terese who was lurking in the kitchen as she'd a feeling something would happen and thus has been proved right. Despite Piper's protestations, Terese isn't allowing them to go to the formal together and says bye to Tyler.

Lassiters car park
Some mystery woman gets out of her yellow car and earns the wrath of Mark for parking in the wrong area. Where she'd parked was the drop off point for limos coming to the formal but a bit of sweet-talking from her, and they go to move the signs so the limos can pull up at another part of the car park.

It would appear the mystery woman has been in Erinsborough before as she remarks to Mark about the complex changing a bit.

Number 22
Piper is totally devastated at what her mum has done and denounces that she'll never forgive her but it is like water off a duck's back to Terese, she's thinking long-term!

PIPER: I can't believe you've ruined my formal and you think you're a good mother, you're a deluded cow, that's what you are!

Ben and Xanthe interrupt (Tyler called to let them know) and want Piper to come with them in the limo before their time runs out. Terese offers to take Piper but she wants out of the house now, and stomps out towards the limo.

TERESE: Have a great night!

The Waterhole
As the formal is being held in the grounds of Lassiters, the students are being given permission to use the toilets in the pub as long as they keep on the wristband Susan is dishing out to them.

Mark arrives after getting a text from Tyler. He is peeved off at being treated like a sleaze especially after doing everything right and tells Mark exactly what happened when he went to #22. Despite thinking Tyler shouldn't be in the pub, he suggests to his brother to go get a table and he'll keep him company for a bit.

Madison finishes setting up for the photos in the rotunda with the aid of Sheila who is reminiscing about her own formal.

The Waterhole
Someone isn't amused at seeing Tyler in the bar - Brad as he tells whoever it was he was on the phone to, but has to end the call to hand out more wristbands to the schoolkids. However they are told to wait while he goes over to have a go at Tyler. Mark immediately comes to his brother's defence by telling Brad he's not at the formal and has a go back at him (and Terese) for making Tyler feel like a creep who can't be trusted with a girl before suggesting that he takes things up with Piper not his brother!

BRAD: I don't want to see you talking to her, okay?

Just at that, Piper arrives but quickly grabs a wristband before hastily exiting the pub despite Brad calling out for her to wait.

Lassiters Park
Brad asks Susan/Madison if either have seen Piper but they reply no. He mutters to Susan as she takes him aside that Piper is really testing him tonight and he's meant to be a teacher tonight not a parent! Susan is after him for another reason too - to introduce him to the new English teacher but can't locate where they are to do the intros.

When Xanthe starts to talk about Piper, Ben stops her as he doesn't want what happened to ruin their night. "It won't, it couldn't," she replies before taking Ben into the marquee to dance.

Ignoring the angry looks and comments by another couple of students (Alison and Cooper, who have also just spiked the punch!) Ben and Xanthe are gazing into each other's eyes. The pair are somewhat having difficulty communicating with each other but their moment is ruined when Piper interrupts. She is seeking her friends help because Tyler is talking to some "skank" in the pub (she's been spying on them) and almost reluctantly and much to Ben's annoyance, Xanthe allows herself to be dragged away promising Ben that she won't be long.

The woman Mark admonished earlier is now chatting with his brother and you can see why Piper wasn't amused, she really is coming on strongly to Tyler. Xanthe interrupts to tell Tyler he has to leave because he is upsetting Piper but his reply is how can he be when he isn't near her (unknown to him she's lurking by the door of the pub) and is told that she knows he's here [with the woman]. Xanthe doesn't want to offend the woman by calling her an insulting name and instead complements her on her outfit.

XANTHE: Sorry, the fun is over.
MYSTERY WOMAN: (to Tyler) Sorry, are you a teenager? I thought you were an adult.

Tyler confirms he is indeed an adult and when he gets up to leave, mystery woman pushes him back into his seat as they were mid-conversation. Well that action was like a red rag to a bull and Piper can't hold herself back any more. She storms towards their table and after picking up a pitcher of a very red coloured liquid, yells out to the mystery woman to "get her hands off my boyfriend" while simultaneously throwing the pitcher all over her!!! (Although more seems to end up over Xanthe than mystery woman!)

The kids are dancing away to Day time tripping.

Mystery woman can't get cleaned up in the toilets because there is a long queue of kids waiting, so she strips off her wet top (partially shielded by Tyler) and puts on his suit jacket before suggesting a nightcap at his place. Tyler turns mystery woman down and is told to get his eyes checked so he can see what he is missing out on!

Susan arrives to get mystery woman (whom she seems very friendly with already) to come with her so they can discuss what happened and so Piper can apologise. "It would be so much fun with you!" she tells Tyler before heading out of the pub.

Lassiters Park
This time its Chasing Satellites the kids are dancing to while Sheila tries her best to get Xanthe sorted out. "Why me," she cries and that the nights been a disaster. Sheila tries to point out its lucky it wasn't the $600 dress that has been drenched as then she'd really have something to cry about.

After Sheila heads off to get more soda water and ordering Ben to take her place in comforting Xanthe, she admits to him that the dress did cost $600, where she got the money from (and her plan to return it tomorrow citing that it didn't fit) all because she wanted him to think that she was amazing and thus so he'd fall for her. Turns out that she needn't have gone to the bother because Ben admits that he's already fallen for her and Madison snaps their first kiss together.

Piper isn't amused that Brad has called Terese down to the pub and tries to downplay what she did. "Take some responsibility," Terese says to her and Brad backs his wife up when Piper tries to protest about her mum looking through her phone. Brad's away to start lecturing Piper but she interrupts to tell him to say it "to someone that cares!" before exiting the pub.

Lassiters Lake
Tyler and Piper gravitate towards each other on the bridge and Piper says she didn't realise he'd be there (he was trying to avoid her too) and apologises for chucking the drink. She acknowledges it was the wrong thing to do but asks if he realises how hard it was seeing him talk to that girl.

PIPER: I thought we had something Tyler.
TYLER: Woman.
PIPER: What?
TYLER: You said I was talking to that girl but she's a woman. That's the whole thing right there isn't it?
PIPER: Why are you talking like you hate me?
TYLER: I don't hate you Pipes, I hate this, how you act and talk like you're twenty and think you are an adult but you're just a girl. That's why you threw the drink all over her and that's why we can't be together.
PIPER: (tearfully) Please don't say that.
TYLER: Whatever we had is over Pipes, not that it ever really started.

Piper tries to say it's just been a bad night and things will be different in the morning but is firmly told that they can't be together.

TYLER: The sooner you face that the better. It's over Pipes.

Number 28
The formal is over and Ben is gushing to Susan about how great it was and is very coy when she asks how things went with Xanthe! He's grateful to the knock on the door to save Susan from commenting more - its Brad dragging Piper with him so she can apologise in person for her behaviour.

Piper apologises to Susan for disrupting the formal but refuses to say sorry "for stopping that skanky hoe from getting her hands..." Thankfully at that point Brad has stopped his daughter from finishing that sentence especially since the skank/mystery woman has just made her way out of one of the bedrooms at #28!

PIPER: Why is she here?
SUSAN: Piper, that's my niece Elly Conway.
ELLY: But feel free to go with skanky hoe!

Oops and explains why Susan/Elly were au fait with each other earlier!

Susan then delivers Piper more bad news - not only is Elly staying with them but she is also her new English teacher at school!
