Cue titles!
Number 22/Robinsons/The Waterhole/Number 24/Harold's café
Piper quickly finishes writing a text to Tyler before her furious dad enters the house, very peeved at the article Madison has written. He isn't the only one peeved - Madison is for her article being changed, Sheila isn't amused too after it slates Xanthe/Gary and Mark hasn't escaped either as he/Steph read what has been written about him. Terese refuses to let Sonya read aloud what's written about her but instead tells her that Piper gets a glowing report (as does Toadie and Steph).
MADISON: What are they going to think of me now?!
While the RSRs sharpen up their swords, Amy tries to reassure Madison that they will get over it and that it's obvious she didn't write the article. She comments to her cousin that she isn't worried about losing her job over it, but is more worried for having hurt people's feelings.
Number 22
Tyler comes over to chat with Piper about the video. He does like it but thinks some of the things she said was a bit too forward. "I was just being honest and open," Piper tries to explain adding that she's not been able to talk to her parents yet because things are stressed through one thing and another. Tyler seems to want to back off until that has happened and she promises to talk to them today.
Lassiters Complex
Madison is ready to get her butt kicked by her editor and is stunned when Penny reveals she is happy with the way she wrote it but does add that she wants Madison to run things by her first.
Madison goes over to tell Amy that Penny was happy with the article but is still none the wiser who changed it after it became clear it wasn't her who did.
MADISON: I don't understand, who would do this to me?
Amy is putting 2 and 2 together and thinks she knows who altered it - Paul but Madison doesn't think he'd do such a thing to her/the others defamed in the article.
AMY: I hate to be the one to tell you this, but that's how he operates. He's selfish no matter who gets hurt along the way.
Robinsons
Madison catches up with her uncle and confronts him about the article and eventually he admits to being the one responsible. "Why?" she asks and he explains that although her article was nice, he wanted everyone to know the truth regardless of whether it hurt their feelings or not afterall, they didn't care about his feelings when he got sent to jail. He softens his attitude somewhat when she tells him that he's hurt her and her passing shot is that he should reassess what his ideas are about right and wrong!
The Waterhole
At the bar, Sheila is urging Terese to sue over the article but she replies no, it was the truth afterall, which backs up Toadie's thoughts on the matter too. She gets a call from her boss about it too and tells Tom she's a fair idea who wrote it and will sort it out.
Piper comes in to check on her mum and she replies that she's no okay but will be. Terese is in a rush and is about to head off but stops when Piper asks to talk to her. Sitting at a table, Piper tells her mum that there is a guy she likes that she wants to start dating and he is really great and that he'd never hurt her. "Are you asking my permission?" Terese asks and Piper explains that the guy doesn't want to make it formal without permission from her parents.
TERESE: That's lovely. Is he a local? Do I know him?
PIPER: (hesitantly) It's Tyler.
Terese looks stunned but tries to hide it from Piper, instead commenting that she thought they were just friends. "We are," she replies but adds that in recent months they've gotten close, quickly confirming it's not what Terese is thinking when she said 'close'. "I guess my feelings have changed," Piper says but is told to change them back because permission isn't granted as he is too old for her despite Terese acknowledging that she's grateful for the help/support he has given Piper in recent times.
TERESE: You're not dating Tyler end of story.
PIPER: Why are you being so horrible?
TERESE: No, I'm being a good mother.
PIPER: (scoffing) Keep telling yourself that!
Number 24
Piper is impressed with the new-look #24 as she comes round to see Tyler before going to talk to her dad. She's after some courage from him (a kiss) and he literally backs off from doing that until she's talked to Brad.
Robinsons
Paul is getting it in the neck too from his brother (who hangs the phone up on him) before he gets the wrath of Mark who tries to tell him he was just doing things by the book and it did look like he was guilty. Terese arrives and joins in with the condemnation of Paul but he's having none of it and suggests they go look at themselves in the mirror if they want someone to blame!
Number 32
Piper is having the same argument trying to convince her dad to give his blessing as she did with her mum. She pleads that she has grown up and he agrees she is being mature by waiting for permission first. Piper lies by telling him that she wanted to talk to him first but gets the result she was after - if Terese agrees to talk to them then he will too. "That is not a yes, it's simply a discussion," he points out after she just about hugged him to death.
Number 22
Piper twists what Brad said to her by telling Terese that he gave them the thumbs up to dating each other! "I don't believe this," Terese replies and eventually Piper embellishes to what he really said - that she'd had to be cool with it too before giving his consent. Terese isn't amused at Piper seeking out Brad for permission after she said 'no' and doesn't care if Brad is being understanding about it because "this parent is still saying no!" Piper demands a proper reason to accept her answer, which Terese counteracts by saying she's already given it and adds that she isn't impressed with her daughter at all. "I'm sorry about before," Piper acknowledges and explains it's through frustration at not being heard.
TERESE: I'm hearing you, I just don't want you to make the same mistakes I did at your age jumping into things, getting your heart broken.
PIPER: Mum, that's not going to happen to me. Tyler is a good guy, just please let me see him.
Terese doesn't say anything, instead gets off the couch and heads for the door to go and see Tyler to make it clear they aren't allowed to see each other. Piper thinks that's going to make him feel like a creep especially as he's not done anything wrong.
PIPER: Just don't take this out on Tyler.
Terese agrees on the condition that they don't talk about this again.
Lassiters Complex
Madison apologises sincerely to Brad for what was written, explaining to him that it was severely edited but he informs her he is going to be suing although using another lawyer than Toadie given he was in the article too. Sonya overhears this and butts in to say he can't sue as everything was true, even about the Outreach kids, telling him about the evidence she's been sent. She then gives him another blow by informing him that he can't work with the kids at the Community Centre any more.
Robinsons
Paul is in a happy mood as the council have given the go-ahead for them to add a restaurant to their motel but Steph wants a more important word about Madison's article. She wants from him that he was the one who changed it as she is concerned for the stress Mark is under at work especially as it could cost him his job. The pair argue over him and his trump card is that Mark is so rigid and does she really want someone like that in Charlie's life? "He's great with Charlie," Steph points out adding too that her relationship [with Mark] is none of his business.
PAUL: Steph, I care about you. I care about you because you were the one that stuck by me when nobody else did.
STEPH: Yeah.
PAUL: And now you've made a decision involving you and your son but I want you to think about this. Who are you really thinking about? You or Charlie?
The Waterhole
Steph catches up with Mark in the bar and tells him about the meeting with Paul. He still can't get how she can work with him especially how much of it she lets slide. She asks him to stop as she's done enough arguing today and has decided that he [Mark] is the type of person she wants around Charlie, both of them are lucky to have Mark. Mark promises not to let Charlie or her down and asks her to promise that she won't let Paul get in her ear.
STEPH: I'm not going to let him manipulate or cause tension between us ever again.
Number 24
Piper finds Tyler out by the pool surprised to see him sunbathing in winter! He asks about the parental chat and she replies that Brad is on board so they can see each other.
Number 32
Brad is telling Terese what he told Piper, that he'd only consent to them talking about it if Terese agreed too and she tells him she says no to everything.
Number 24
Tyler asks what Terese is saying and is told that Piper will talk to her but now isn't the right time.
Number 32
And as far as Terese is concerned, there will never be a right time to entertain that idea! Brad is peeved that Piper has played them.
Number 24
Tyler is surprised at Brad agreeing without Terese being on board and Piper says that given time her mum will be cool with things. Piper thinks that they should start seeing each other in secret, especially since Brad is cool with it.
Number 32
Brad is having to dispel the notion that their daughter is mature since in fact she's been sneaking around behind their backs.
Number 24
Tyler wants confirmation that Brad is okay with them and Piper replies that he is.
PIPER: I want to be with you.
TYLER: I want to be with you too.
PIPER: So what's stopping us?
Piper then literally jumps on top of Tyler (he's half sitting/lying on the sun lounger) and they begin kissing.
Promo
- Piper telling Xanthe "it's happening."
- Piper/Tyler pashing.
- Sonya/Toadie making eyes at each other.
- Paige giving Jack the come on eyes... then looking at him with sad eyes!
