The Waterhole
Paul tells Lyn that she still looks terrific after all these years. Lyn doesn't think Steph is too happy with her at the moment. Paul is in exactly the same situation with Amy, he wishes he wasn't so single-minded when it comes to Jimmy. Paul tells Lyn there is a lot of stuff he wants to fill her in on, if she'd allow him.
LYN: Why are you being so nice to me?
Cue titles.
Number 26
Sheila checks with Amy that she is okay about Xanthe staying. Amy likes Xanthe and thinks she'll be good for the house.
SHEILA (to Kyle): I'd love it if Amy's attitude rubbed off on you love.
KYLE: Good luck.
Susan arrives with some paperwork. Sheila introduces Susan to Xanthe and tells her that Susan will be her new high school Principal as she's enrolling in Erinsborough High. Xanthe protests as she will only be in town for a few weeks, but Sheila doesn't want her 'sitting around on her bony bum.' Susan asks Xanthe to fill in these forms which will help her get in touch with Xanthe's last school. Xanthe makes an excuse that all the school's computers are down at the moment. Susan says she can easily phone the teachers. They present Xanthe with the papers as she'll be starting tomorrow.
The Waterhole
Paul tells Lyn that being made bankrupt has made him appreciate the simple things in life. He admires Lyn's dedication to family. Lyn finds it hard to step back from Steph, but she guesses that is what Steph wants. Terese arrives but looks taken aback when she sees Paul with Lyn. She then takes a seat on her own. Paul asks Lyn if she'd like to have dinner with him tonight. Lyn doesn't think she'll be staying long.
Lassiters Lake
Karl and Sonya are crossing the bridge, complaining about the community centre closing. They say Tim Collins has a lot to answer for. They see a council worker, Nigel, about to cut off some of the love locks and race to stop him. The mayor has ordered for the locks to be removed as they were never approved by the council.
KARL: I put a lock on this bridge for my wife, if you cut it off it's $13 down the drain.
Sonya says the locks were Callum's idea, and the council is required by law to inform its constituents of any proposed action.
NIGEL: It's not your call mate.
SONYA: Mate? Mate?! I'm not your mate. Now move on! Get away, go, go!
Sonya takes a cable tie from the council workers kit, and asks Karl to attach her to the bridge. The council worker leaves, as Sonya asks Karl to help her take photos to send to everyone. She realises her phone is in the bag, which is now dangling on the arm which she's attached to the bridge.
KARL: Oh dear.
SONYA: I didn't think of that.
The Waterhole
Paul tries to explain to Terese that Lyn is one of his ex-wives. She didn't realise he was on friendly terms with any of them, but Paul wants to change that. Terese walks away seeming indifferent. Paul passes Steph and explains that Lyn feels like Steph doesn't want her here. Paul asks Steph to reach out to Lyn and not let her leave town without resolving things. Steph looks surprised by Paul making this request.
Number 26
Xanthe gives Bossy a treat but Kyle stops her. Bossy is on a strict post-op diet. Xanthe was just being nice to her.
XANTHE: Whats your problem?
KYLE: I just don't want my sick dog getting sicker.
XANTHE: I mean with me, every time I open my mouth, you're annoyed with me.
KYLE: Try being less annoying.
Xanthe says being here isn't easy for her. Kyle thinks its just because she couldn't wiggle her way out of going to school.
XANTHE: School is dumb and I don't need it, just like I don't need you and Sheila hassling me.
KYLE: You're lucky we took you in.
XANTHE: Well I didn't ask for it.
KYLE: Well neither did we, and if you were over 16, Gran would have actually had a choice.
Kyle looks like he instantly regrets saying that.
Lassiters Lake
Sonya is sitting on the bridge, trying to take a selfie. Toadie slowly approaches on crutches, Nell is with him. They've brought supplies for her, and Nell sits down beside Sonya. Sonya is pleased to see them, explaining she had to do this as this is Callum's legacy. Shes sick of the council thinking they can do whatever they want. Toadie offers to take some more photos and upload them.
SONYA: I'm not getting very good comments Jarrod.
Toadie suggests they 'up the cute factor' by having Nell in the photos. Sonya gets a phone call. She exclaims that they did it! Tim Collins says the love locks can stay.
TOADIE: You did it! And as soon as I find something to cut that off we can do a victory dance!
SONYA: Yes!
TOADIE: Alright, don't go anywhere.
Toadie very slowly walks away on his crutches.
Number 26
Susan arrives, and Sheila calls Xanthe through. Susan has spoken to Xanthe's ex-principal who told her about Xanthe's lack of attendance.
SUSAN: Was there a reason you missed so much school?
XANTHE: The school itself wasn't very good and between you and me, the teachers took off to go surfing more than the kids did.
Susan says at Erinsborough they expect a high attendance and 100% effort. She asks her what subjects she likes.
XANTHE: I like media and I want to have my own reality show like Kendall Jenner.
SHEILA: Who?
XANTHE: And I also want my own line, I'm not sure if I want it to be handbags or shoes.
SUSAN: Right, okay, well if that's a goal then maybe you would like to choose business studies as an elective.
XANTHE: No, not really. I think school is a bit of waste of time and I think you can learn more by just getting out there and living your life.
SHEILA: Don't be so rude Xanthe, you are going and you will like it!
XANTHE: No I wont!
Sheila says dropping out of school was one of her biggest regrets and she wont let Xanthe do the same. Sheila tells Xanthe she's going. Xanthe wonders why she even cares.
XANTHE: Kyle doesn't want me here and neither do you!
Sheila looks shocked.
Number 30
Steph tells them that shes run it past Toadie and Sonya and its okay for Lyn to stay here. Lyn checks that Steph would like that, and is relieved when Steph says of course they're okay. Steph says she had a weird chat with Paul earlier.
LYN: Yeah we have a fair bit in common at the moment.
STEPH: The guy makes my skin crawl.
Steph doesn't want Lyn thinking she doesn't want her here, that's not true
STEPH: I need you to see that I am better.
LYN: I do, I do. I know I keep interfering but I'm going to back off completely.
STEPH (laughing): Come on, is that realistic?
LYN (laughing): How about I back off 50%?
STEPH: Yeah, alright, that's more like it.
Steph tells Lyn she should fill her in on what Paul did when she first came back.
Lassiters Park
Sonya and Nell are having a picnic, talking to Karl. Karl can't believe that the council gave in on the issue so quickly. Sonya doesn't think they wanted the negative publicity. Toadie arrives, and in honour of his wife's political win, hes bought a family lock to put on the bridge together. Sonya shows Nell the lock which has their initials and Callum's inscribed on it. Sonya kisses Toadie.
TOADIE: You need to remember this for our next counseling session. I get husband points.
SONYA: Well I don't know if she keeps a scoreboard Jarrod, but I'll give you a point.
Sonya and Toadie go to put the lock on the bridge, while Karl stays with Nell and the food.
Lassiters Lake
Toadie and Sonya arrive to find Nigel, the council worker, putting up a 'Keep Out' sign on the bridge. He claims that the weight of the locks is now a serious safety issue for the bridge so it is now closed and it won't reopen. Sonya says this is down to that vindictive Tim Collins, who is probably sitting there laughing. She marches off to see him, before realising she'll have to go slowly to help Toadie along.
Number 26
Sheila is sewing a school uniform for Xanthe. She tells Amy it is second hand and she hopes it fits as Xanthe refused to try it on. Sheila tells Amy that Xanthe accused her and Kyle of not wanting her here. Sheila does want her here, she's her granddaughter even if shes a handful. Amy asks if she reminds her of Naomi. Kyle overhears the conversation. Amy thinks whatever Sheila did with Naomi clearly worked, but Sheila says it didn't. She was too hard on her and they didn't talk for years before she came to live here. She doesn't want to push Xanthe away too.
SHEILA: You know, the only person who really understands what Xanthe is going through is Kyle. Being lied to and let down by Gary is familiar territory to him, as well as having an unreliable mother. I just wish he'd calm down long enough to see that.
Number 30
Lyn is furious at Paul for what he did to Steph and can't believe shes been spending time with him.
LYN: He tried to drive you mad!
STEPH: This is why I didn't tell you, I knew you'd get worked up.
LYN: Worked up?! I have barely started!
Steph says shes focusing on her health and getting back on track and getting angry isn't good for her, success will be her biggest revenge. Lyn says Steph is a bigger person than she is. Her focus is on Charlie, no distractions. Lyn wonders why Paul is trying to smooth things with her. Steph doesn't know, Paul always has an ulterior motive. As long as it doesn't come between her and Lyn, she doesn't care about Paul. While Steph goes to get more tea, Lyn takes out her phone and writes a text.
Number 22
Terese comes home to find Paul cooking dinner.
TERESE: I had no idea you cooked.
PAUL: Neither did I, but I'm trying.
Number 30
Lyn has dressed up, telling Steph she's going out to dinner with Paul.
Number 22
Terese thinks the dinner is lovely, but she thought they both agreed to just be friends. Paul says this isn't for her, hes inviting one of his ex-wives over to dinner. Terese looks shocked.
Number 30
Steph can't believe Lyn's going out with Paul after everything he's done. Lyn says he's going to let Paul come clean about everything he did to her.
Number 22
Paul says he wants to sort out a few financial things. Terese leaves to give Paul some space.
Harolds
Sonya tries to convince Karl to run for mayor again, but hes busy enough working at the Hospital and Off-Air. Karl suggests she run for mayor. Toadie says she knows how to bring attention to a cause and she's already an active member of the community. So far no one is opposing Tim, and while Sonya is running she could make a lot of noise about the bridge, she can find out the councils plans for the community centre, and she can stick it to Tim Collins. Sonya says she'll do it, she'll run for mayor.
Number 22
At dinner, Lyn asks Paul about how he and Steph have been getting along, but Paul doesn't think there is anything else to say. Lyn thanks Paul for having a word with Steph, she's invited her to stay. She also thanks Paul for the dinner, offering him a position as a kitchen hand in her café. Paul considers taking her up on her offer. He doesn't know how he'll get on his feet again, its really tough at the moment. He asks her if she remembers the shares he bought her, he thinks they were duds but if she signed them over to him, every little bit helps. Lyn smiles and says if he gives her one of his famous foot massages, she'll think about it.
Number 26
Xanthe is preparing dinner for Bossy, explaining to Kyle that she checked the food requirements the vet left and it's all above board. Xanthe apologises for earlier, she was just trying to be nice. He apologises for being short with her, he was having a bad day. Kyle says Sheila has gone to a lot of trouble to organise for Xanthe to start school and she is stoked that she is here and wants to make up for lost time. Xanthe says Kyle doesn't want her here. Kyle says that isn't it, it'll just take a bit of getting used to. Kyle says Sheila has been more like a mum to him. Kyle's mum is on a boat to Bali with a new bloke from the Greyhounds. His mum's always been self-involved, but with Sheila he always comes first. Shes pretty awesome. Xanthe thinks she should apologise to Sheila. Kyle says all she needs to do to show Sheila she's sorry is to try on the school uniform.
Number 22
Paul finishes giving Lyn a foot rub. Lyn says she feels like a new person. Lyn thinks she should get going but Paul insists she stay, he's enjoying her company. As they lean in closer, about to kiss, Lyn bursts out laughing and pulls away.
LYN: You really will do anything to scam me out of money, wont you?
Paul plays dumb, but Lyn knows he's never this nice without an agenda. The minute he mentioned the shares, she knew, and she bets they're worth a fortune. She tells Paul that she knows what he did to Steph and he is the lowest of the low!
LYN: Oh, I'm forgetting the best bit! Those shares, they're not mine any more. No I put them in a trust for Steph when she went to jail. You've been wooing the wrong Scully! Aww!
