It's breakfast time, and Jimmy comments that Bossy looks like she needs a hug. Kyle stalls him, saying Bossy is going to the vet. Amy is puzzled, so Sheila "explains" that Kyle is worried about the diagnosis.

Sonya asks if there's any news about the burglaries. Well, it's news to the viewers. She's making a list of what's gone missing, which includes the watch which Dee gave Toadie. They talk awkwardly about the physio. Steph rushes in, very excited, and shows them a photo of Charlie which Max has just emailed. Toadie and Sonya suggest that she reply and ask if she can correspond directly with him.

Sonya tells Amy about how awkward things are between her and Toadie, especially with Steph in the house. Amy advises her to talk to him.
AMY: Being honest about this sort of stuff is crucial, otherwise it just gets worse. Trust me. I say this as a proud owner of one failed marriage.
SONYA: ...
AMY: Not that your marriage is in any danger of failing. That was a bad choice of words.
Harold's
Karl is trying to write a limerick to win a free night in a Lassiter's suite. Susan asks how he is getting on.
KARL: I'm a bit stuck on the first line. Uh, there's a hotel near Lassiter's Lake...
SUSAN: Where the marble is obviously fake.
KARL: Oh, be nice.
Aaron arrives to see if they've heard from Nate (which they haven't) and Susan invites him to stay for breakfast and help Karl with the limerick.

Amy is making a cake (or something) as comfort food for Kyle. Sheila says that it's got to be better than Sonya's taste-free granola cake. Amy says that honesty is the Canning way, and she appreciates being with Kyle because she can trust him. She challenges Sheila to tell her what is wrong, because she has been acting strangely all morning.
Ramsay Street
Steph is looking at the printed photo of Charlie. Sonya comes over and apologises for how she has handled things. Steph tells her that she's emailed Max, and she's worried at how long he's taken to reply. By an amazing coincidence she gets a reply: they've agreed to a video call. How exciting.

Amy challenges Kyle about why he didn't tell her that Bossy bit him. Kyle tells her that Bossy has a brain tumour, and that's what's been affecting her moods. He says there's an operation, but it costs $25K. Jimmy asks what will happen, but Kyle says it might not happen, in which case they'll have to put her down. Jimmy is upset.
JIMMY: If I was sick, would you have to put ME down?
Sheila and Kyle say their money is tied up. Everyone is upset, but Sheila says they have no choice.
Lassiter's complex
Aaron tells Susan that he's had a text from Nate who is on his way to Europe. Susan thanks him and invites him around: anytime.

Sonya tells Toadie that she thinks they should see a counsellor. He's a bit off-hand to start with, asking if it's that "Steph business", but finally agrees to go that afternoon.
No 26 garden
Kyle is playing ball with Bossy. He tells Amy that he has to take Bossy to the vet before the end of the day. He says that Bossy has been through him through some tough times,like Georgia leaving him. He apologises for crying and Amy says it's fine.

Susan suggests to Karl that they might like to take advantage of an empty house... and they TTEOLARCW™.

Steph is making a video call to someone on Max's account, but she doesn't look anything like Max. Turns out she's Philippa, Max's wife. Steph asks to talk to Max, but he's out, and so's Charlie. She says that Max asked her to handle the situation. She says Charlie is a wonderful boy and acknowledges that Steph loves him.
PHILIPPA: He's been through a lot of instability over the last few years. That's why we believe it might be in Charlie's best interests if I legally adopt him.
She says they didn't want Steph making assumptions about access. Steph points out she's Charlie's mum. She hears Toadie, who is about to leave, and she begs him to talk to Philippa. He says he has to meet Sonya, but then he agrees to stay. Steph introduces him to Philippa, who says Max has talked about him.

Sheila, Jimmy and Kyle are very upset, as Kyle is just about to leave with Bossy. Amy has gone out somewhere. Sheila and Jimmy say their goodbyes, then Amy arrives and says she's arranged a deal with the vet to do the surgery in return for a gazebo and landscaping. Wow, that must be some gazebo!

Aaron arrives with a bunch of bananas to find clothes scattered all over the floor. He calls Mark to report another burglary. Karl appears, dressed in a doctor's white coat, and accessories. Aaron is embarrassed, and says he knocked. Susan appears, wearing a nurse's cap and a sheet, suggesting strawberries.
AARON: You said I could come over anytime. Anyway... I just wanted to... bring you these... because I had all of yours, and ... They're organic.
He leaves, mortified. Susan walks back into the bedroom, shutting the door behind her.
No 30/Community Centre
Toadie finishes his conversation with Philippa, saying he has to leave, but that Steph will be back shortly. Steph is in tears, and begs him to stay.
Meanwhile, Sonya is waiting outside the Community Centre.
Steph tells Toadie that he can persuade Philippa.
STEPH: Please! My relationship with Charlie is at stake here.
She says she has to stop them. Toadie looks conflicted, as Sonya continues to wait.
