Hospital
Steph leaves Toadie's room and Sonya reminds her that she asked her not to mention why she hired Belinda. Steph says they weren't talking about Belinda. Sonya asks what they were talking about.
STEPH: I can't say. You're just gonna have to trust me.
Harold's
Josh is serving when Lauren arrives back. She says that Amber is settling in well, and would love it if Josh could visit. Josh smiles warily. He says his shift is nearly over, and asks if he can head off.
Ramsay Street
Amy comes over to chat to Sonya, who says she has misjudged things. She inadvertantly drops "Paul" into the conversation, then tries to backtrack. Amy insists on knowing what she meant, and Sonya tells her what Paul did to Steph.
AMY: No, there's no way he'd do something that cruel.
SONYA: I'm sorry. We've tried to protect you from what he's capable of. But he did everything he could to get her into that hospital. And it almost worked.
Amy is horrified.
No 26
Terese is putting up a sign "HAPPY Birthday G-Dad" and Sheila has prepared some food. Amy arrives, shortly followed by Paul. Paul enthuses about how he's sold his first gazebo. Amy asks for a private word, but Jimmy comes in, saying his model plane is wrecked.
No 30
Sonya tells Toadie how she told Amy about Paul, so she feels she should be honest with him. She confesses that she employed Belinda because she said Steph was in love with him. She didn't think he would be tempted, but she admitted to being paranoid.
SONYA: I'm sorry.
TOADIE: Yeah, well, you know, sometimes "sorry" can't fix things, you know.
Sonya asks if there's anything else going on, but Toadie leaves.
No 26
Paul has fixed Jimmy's plane, and he says it's been a tough few weeks, but it's made a big difference having them around. Amy frowns. He adds that he didn't feel like celebrating, but thanks to them, he is a changed man.
AMY: You are deluded if you think you are a changed man. You're still the same selfish jerk you've always been.
She explains to Terese and Sheila what Paul did. He claims he did it for a good reason, but she says there's no justification, and asks him to go.
No 22
Paul is trying to justify his actions to Terese, who says that he didn't give Steph a chance. She asks about the gazebo business, and he says it's dead, as Amy won't forgive him.
PAUL: Yeah. DO you know, up until a couple of days ago, I thought I'd lost everything. But now... I've just lost my daughter.
Harold's
Brad and Lauren are talking about Matilda, and Lauren says they should encourage Josh to visit Matilda. She adds that the visit brought back a lot of memories.
LAUREN: Amber doesn't have Josh, and all those years ago, I didn't have you.
Sounds like a completely different situation to me. Then Brad says that he felt he had missed out when he found out about Paige, and he doesn't want Josh to miss out... He says he'll talk to Josh and they act flirty and she wishes him luck.
No 26
Jimmy wants to know why Paul left early. Amy says he was busy, but Jimmy thinks he should have had time for cake.
AMY: Your grandfather's done something erm... disappointing.
Jimmy wants to take Paul his present, but Amy tells him to do his homework.
No 22
Brad tells Josh he needs to see Matilda as often as possible, but Josh says he's confused about being a dad.
JOSH: Since they left ... I don't even want to say this out loud, but... I think I've felt relieved. How horrible is that?
Brad suggests that Josh might have PND, saying that it doesn't discriminate between gender.
No 30
Toadie arrives home and tells Sonya he hasn't been entirely honest. He tells that they are never going to have another baby.
Harold's - outside
Brad tells Lauren what happened with Josh. Terese watches them talking, then walks away.
Amy apologises to Steph for what Paul did and says she can't forgive him. She says that she saw her mum suffer with mental illness, and so she doesn't want anything more to do with Paul. Steph asks about Jimmy and Amy confirms she still wants Jimmy and Paul to have a relationship.
Community Centre
Outisde the centre, Sonya meets Terese. They are both going to the AA meeting, although Terese says she is not drinking - she just needs support.
No 22
Jimmy drops around to give Paul his present. Paul asks if Amy knows Jimmy's visiting, and he says no. Paul says he has to go home, and they can catch up soon.
Community Centre
Sonya is speaking to the group. She says that she's made some bad decisions, and that the person they live has been going through a tough time and she's a good person...
SONYA: She's positive and I guess that's why her and my husband get along so well, because they're the same. And they just have this history together.
While she is talking, we see Steph laughing, and Toadie sends her a text saying he's glad she's back.
SONYA: And yeah, I'm threatened by that. And I guess it's making me paranoid.
She says that she's reading things that aren't there. Then, Terese is speaking.
TERESE: I'm also the queen of reading things into situations that weren't there. Until one day, they were. So I self-medicated with alcohol. And before I knew it, well, my paranoia became a reality.
We see Lauren and Brad deep in conversation. Then she talks about trying to become a better person, and we see Paul reading Jimmy's card. Then we see Amy reading the card she had written for Paul, but hadn't given him. Terese comments that the group is there to help each other learn from their experiences.
TERESE: I hope somebody can learn from mine.
Sonya looks distressed.
Ramsay Street
Jimmy is on his way back home when Bossy rushes out of the house. He catches her, but she bites him and runs off. Sheila goes to see what's happened
