- Brad commenting to Lauren that he feels guilty having done nothing.
- Lauren replying that them talking is doing something.
- Terese denying that she's an alcoholic.
- Amber telling Imogen that Terese didn't attend the AA session.
- Georgia asking Kyle to give her a year and if it's meant to be she‘ll be back to him.
- Courtney agreeing to see Josh again after thinking it was just going to be a one night stand.
- Paige suggesting a camping trip to her sisters.
- Josh turning up at the same campsite as the girls with Courtney!
There is a small update to the titles this week - Georgia has been removed and Jimmy and Amy are now in the scene with Kyle.
“Total coincidence was it?” Imogen asks her brother and he quickly replies yes. He also denies that their parents told him, telling her that he knows about the campsite thanks to Doug. Amber is happy to have him in there… until Paige points out they can't move their tent because this is the only area zoned for camping.
Courtney breezes over to them and announces to Josh that he needs to pick somewhere that nobody can't hear them!
COURTNEY: Hey everyone, I'm Courtney, I'm Josh's… Ooh what do you call me?
IMOGEN: (to Josh) Ooh I've got a few ideas!
Josh tells her who the ladies are and she thinks it's awesome that they bumped into all his friends! After another apology to say he didn't know they were going to be there too, he heads away with Courtney to unpack.
Amy calls round to invite Kyle and Georgia to lunch but other than saying Georgia isn't there, he doesn't tell her that they've split up and is more concerned about making sure she does the work at the yard!
As they walk through the sanctuary, Amber confirms again to her sisters that she is okay with Josh/Courtney being in the same campsite as them and comments that she seems nice. Imogen seems more bothered about it than Amber, and decides she is going to sort it out, but doesn't say how exactly, as she walks away from them.
Brad and Lauren are working together to finish off the marmalade jars (putting the chequered cloth on) and both are fully on board with the benefit for the Rebecchi family. “Will Terese get involved?” Lauren enquires and he promises to ask her but adds that he doesn't think she'll be into the home baking! He then compliments Lauren on putting on hold her busy schedule to help out and admits his wife is unlikely to so the same. Lauren downplays the compliment, saying that her simple lifestyle means she didn't need to re- arrange much.
“Nice nap?” Imogen sarcastically asks her brother just as she arrives at their tent as they've gotten out of it (dressed thankfully!). Next up her sleeve is breaking it to Courtney that Josh is going to be a dad (she knows) and the mother is Amber whom she met (she figured as much). “What the hell was that?!” Josh asks his sister after Courtney escapes to go water the flowers. She explains that they are stressing Amber out and Josh is quick to respond that Amber's made it clear that nothing will happen between them so everyone needs to “grow up and be adult about it and that includes you.”
Off Air (exterior)
Paul receives the wrath of Terese when he comments on her bad mood (he thinks it's down to Brad) as he sits waiting for her to complete some paperwork.
TERESE: I think half the problems that Brad and I have are because I followed your advice, so just do me a favour and keep your nose out of my marriage.
PAUL: Only trying to help.
TERESE: Well don't… never again!
Imogen decides to ignore the ban and call Daniel to moan to him about Josh showing up with Courtney. She wishes she could come home but realises that she's got to give her mum space and she mentions that Terese should be in an AA meeting just now. Daniel then breaks it to her that he's at the bar and is looking at her mum right now.
Paige and Amber join their sister and tease her for calling Daniel, so she tells them what he told her about Terese being at Off Air instead of at her AA meeting and that Amber was right. “Why do you care if your mum hasn't gone to a meeting?” Paige asks and Imogen quietly replies that she wasn't there for business but for personal reasons.
PAIGE: Oh, like counselling or something?
IMOGEN: Something like that.
Amber suggests that she calls her mum even though Imogen wanted to wait until she got home to talk to her.
As she enters, Lauren tells Susan about the plans for the store that she finalised last week with Kyle – it's going to be more cafe and less store. Susan is impressed with the amount of marmalade that Lauren has just delivered and tries to keep her response neutral when she says it was herself/Brad (because Imogen was too busy to make it with her dad) who made it not her/Amber as Susan initially thought.
Terese arrives with coffee in exchange for a chat with Susan and quickly says she'd have bought one for Lauren if she'd know she was there. Lauren explains that she's just finished talking about the produce for the fundraiser and Susan interjects to say who's doing what for the fundraiser and out slips the fact Brad/Lauren had made jam. Terese excuses her ignorance as nobody, particularly Brad, told her and Susan tries to backtrack to say Brad should have been doing the jam with Imogen but she got busy so Lauren stepped in to help.
Dial- A- Kyle
Paul delivers Amy some afternoon tea but she's too busy getting through the work Kyle has given her to have it. When she tells him about the mood Kyle was in, Paul then sheds some light on why that is – Georgia split up from Kyle that morning.
Terese lies about being at her (AA) meeting when Brad asks her about it when she gets in. Brad reiterates his support for her and promises her anything to help support her. “Thanks,” she replies then suggests they go for a walk to allow them to talk. With Brad being all for the walk, Terese goes to get her runners and while he's waiting, answers Terese's ringing phone (its Imogen) and explains why mum isn't available to talk. “I'm worried about her dad,” Imogen says and tells him about Terese not being at the AA meeting and thinks it wasn't the first time either.
Terese comes back downstairs and Brad asks her straight out if she went to her meeting or if she went to Off Air instead?! Realising that she's been caught out, she explains she met Paul for a catch up and asks “so what?!”
BRAD: You don't see how this is a big deal?
Instead of replying to that, Terese in turn asks what he was up to this afternoon. Brad calmly replies making marmalade with Lauren for Toadie's benefit, so in turn she asks why he didn't tell her. “Well I didn't lie to you,” is his response and is told that is a lie by omission.
BRAD: Okay, this is about you skipping your AA session.
TERESE: You mean you blaming our problems on my supposed drinking.
Brad takes offence at her use of the word ‘supposed' and comments about her being in denial.
TERESE: If I'd indulged more than usual lately, it's because of you!
TERESE: Yes, the secrets, the half truths, the constant fighting.
BRAD: Okay, what particular issue are we talking about here?
Terese can't believe he's said that but he wants to know, remarking that he's having trouble keeping up.
TERESE: I am talking about you constantly putting your ex- girlfriend and daughter before me!
BRAD: We were raising money for a friend.
TERESE: Yes, well that's today's excuse. Yesterday it was something else; tomorrow it will be something else again.
BRAD: I could say the same thing about your drinking.
TERESE: You know if you really wanted to help me, you'd try to be a little bit more attentive.
BRAD: I do constantly but it's never enough. I am never enough.
TERESE: (putting on sad face look) Oh and now you're the victim.
Brad shakes his head at what he's seen/heard and tells her he “can't talk to her when you're like this,” and goes to walk out of the house.
TERESE: Alright, fine, go walk, you know take the easy way out.
BRAD: You know what; things are never easy with you. We can continue this when you're in a better frame of mind!
Terese yells at him no because she wants to continue this but he's not listening and walks out the front door.
TERESE: It's who I am Brad and don't hurry back.
Brad wasn't around to hear that last sentence but I'm sure he heard it given how she yelled it out as he exited the front door and walked down the driveway where he runs into Susan. She asks if he is okay, he is but given she's friends with Terese doesn't want to talk about it with her. “I care about you too,” she reassures Brad with so he literally unloads on her about how he's not been able to put a foot right in the past few weeks first with the text on Paige's phone and then the secrets letter. Susan tries to explain it as she wasn't thinking straight (over text) and that Terese let her imagination run wild for the letter.
BRAD: Today she accused me of putting Lauren and Paige before her, all the while ignoring the real problem which is her drinking.
SUSAN: Is it really that bad?
Brad tells her about Terese skipping her AA meeting and lying to his face that she had been to it.
SUSAN: Brad I agree, none of that's good, obviously she needs help!
BRAD: I have tried helping her but I'm done, I am booking into a motel.
Courtney and Josh aren't exactly being quiet and Imogen again suggests to Amber that they should go home. Amber rejects the offer adding that Josh is doing exactly as he should be doing by having fun and enjoying himself. “You'll be back to your old self before you know it,” Paige reassures her sister with, adding that perhaps she could have more fun than him! “Except I'll have a baby to look after every second of the day,” she reminds them and instantly Imogen tells her she's got their help “and Josh's too.” Amber appreciates the offer…
AMBER: I can't wait to have this baby, I really can't but I guess I'm coming to terms with the fact that I won't be able to go and do things at a moments notice like go camping or I don't know pick up a guy from a bar.
IMOGEN: (confused) Is that what you want?!
AMBER: No, but it would be nice to have the option!
Paige offers Amber some words of wisdom after all she has 2 mums!
PAIGE: Soon you're going to have this gorgeous little girl who needs you and wants you, only you and that's pretty special.
IMOGEN: And we'll be there to give you the time out that you need, whenever you need it.
PAIGE: Especially if that's picking up a guy at a bar!
Terese has just poured herself a glass of wine when she gets up to answer the door (its Susan) and to let her into the house. She tells her friend about running into Brad in the street (“that must have been a treat for you!”) and that he's booking himself into a motel (“did he?”). “Why didn't you go to the AA meeting,” Susan then asks and her reasoning is that she's got “nothing in common with those people.”
SUSAN: People like Sonya?
TERESE: (defiantly) I'm not an addict!
Susan pleads for her to give it a try and is accused of being on Brad's side. “No,” Susan replies adding that if she's got a problem with drinking then she needs to address it. “What are you really doing here Susan?” and her reply is she thought Terese would like to talk. Terese interprets this as Susan wanting the goss so she can run back to Lauren and have a laugh about her. “I would never do that,” Susan pleads but Terese doesn't believe her and accuses her of moving over to Lauren's camp. Susan is aghast at what Terese is suggesting; she is simply trying to support Terese.
TERESE: Well thank you but I can do without your support… and your judgement… just take it elsewhere!
Terese then walks to the door and opens it but Susan has something to say first before she leaves.
SUSAN: Okay, but I say this to you as a friend. You do have a problem Terese and you need to sort it out before it's too late.
Road outside Dial- A- Kyle
Brad tries to book a room in a motel as he walks down the street but he hasn't got his credit card so can't proceed with the booking.
Kyle arrives to collect his charger and takes the opportunity to apologise to Amy for being harsh “because I have some stuff going on at the moment.” She interrupts him to say that she knows about Georgia and offers him her condolences. He seems rather peeved Paul told her and explains that he (and Bossy) are heading to Frankston for a few days and thanks her for agreeing to keep an eye on things. Before he does, she asks if what happened was because of what happened between them and he replies no but adds that he isn't sure exactly what it was but isn't staying around to say more.
Brad enters the premises through the garden to go retrieve his jacket as there was no answer at the front door (Lauren was at the pool). He explains why he needs his jacket and Lauren replies back “sorry” to him.
BRAD: You know what, I'm sick of it. I'm sick of second guessing everything I say. I'm sick of trying to be this person you know that I am not. I need to be more like you!
LAUREN: (laughing) I don't think so!
BRAD: Look at you, the things that you've gone through they would knock anyone completely out but you're still out there, you're still working, you're still nurturing your kids… you're even trying to help Toadie!
Lauren starts to laugh, so that's another reason Brad has to praise her.
BRAD: You're still happy; you're true to who you are. I don't know how you do it!
Lauren tries to downplay it, telling him she's not really doing anything.
BRAD: You are, you take every experience you had and turn it into something positive. That is special alright and it's rare.
Either Lauren has been in the sun too long or she is embarrassed by the compliments Brad is throwing her way as her skin looks rather flushed. As he's said that last sentence, she goes to leave the pool area but he stops her to continue the praise.
BRAD: You are incredible Lauren.
It's now as if time stood still as they both stare into each others eyes before giving into each other and kissing passionately.
It's now dark and they've moved inside to the sun room but the pashing they are still doing goes another step further…
- Lauren reassuring Brad that nothing has changed but he replies that it has.
‘The moment of truth' appears in bold letters on the screen interjecting shots of Brad, Lauren and Terese.
