Imogen is sitting outside Harold's when Amber comes over to serve her. Amber happily reveals how she's decided to stay at university because Josh has promised to support her and the baby financially – which makes Imogen feel even worse about having just lost Josh his job. But Imogen doesn't reveal this to Amber – just lets her believe it's all okay.
As Paige walks through the Complex, a photograph drops out of her back pocket. Terese sees it fall, and rushes to pick it up so she can give it back to Paige. But on looking at the photo, she's annoyed to see it's a picture of Brad, Lauren, Paige and Terese – and it's been folded so that Terese is cut off the side!
Terese is wooing Mary with some examples of great events that Lassiter's has hosted for corporate clients in the past. Suitably impressed, Mary says she'd be mad not to recommend Lassiter's as the venue for her client's event.
Terese also tells Mary that she's sounded out Brad and Lauren about Mary seeing more of Paige, without specifically mentioning to them Mary's idea of taking Paige back to Singapore. She reveals that Lauren and Brad seemed quite supportive of the idea of Mary and Paige spending more time together.
Mary says she's going to broach the subject of Singapore with Paige soon, when she finds the right moment – but has work to do first organising the event. Terese offers to take care of it, encouraging Mary to go and spend time with Paige instead.
Tyler is sweeping the floor when Mark arrives to see him; he explains he's been given an earful by the Kennedys for his ‘hygiene issues', so is stepping up his game. Mark has come to see if Tyler has heard from Dimato or any of his goons, but Tyler says none of them have called him. Mark reminds Tyler to let him know the moment they get in touch.
Paige arrives to see Tyler just as Mark is leaving; Mark says he'll leave them to it. Once he's gone, Paige immediately guesses that Mark was there to talk about Dimato, but Tyler tells her not to worry about it. When Paige pushes him, Tyler admits he's involved in a sting against Dimato, as part of a deal with the cops to avoid jail.
TYLER: We're just waiting for Dimato to arrive back in town. Then it's all gonna go down.
Kyle is staring frustratedly at a pixelated image of Georgia, their webcam chat having frozen. Amy turns up so they can hit the road for work. She offers to wait until he's finished his chat with Georgia but he says it's okay.
Before they go, Sheila shows them an ad she's seen in the paper for ‘Victoria's Most Unique Tradie' – to enter, you send in a photo, the public votes, and the winning entrant receives a load of tools. Kyle thinks it's just a marketing ploy so says he'll pass; but while he's out of the room fetching his wallet, Amy asks to have a look at the ad. Sheila encourages her to enter, and offers to help her prepare.
Imogen comes in, and seems unimpressed as Daniel sets up his latest gimmick to pull in the punters – a jewellery- making event. Daniel says he's had quite a lot of interest.
IMOGEN: Are you serious? Do people have lives anymore?
She quickly apologises for being in such a foul mood and decides to leave, but Daniel stops her for a chat, correctly guessing that she's still feeling bad about getting Josh fired. Imogen explains it's even worse than that; now Amber has decided not to quit uni, she's relying on Josh financially. Yet all he has is a credit card debt and a pile of legal bills. Daniel looks concerned.
Mary is sitting at a table, while Paige serves Mark at the counter. Mark explains that Tyler has assured him Paige wasn't involved with Dimato's operation, so she doesn't need to worry. But he says the police will need a statement from her when the dust settles.
Once Mark's gone, Mary comes over and asks if she can lure Paige away from work for a while, so they can do something fun together. Paige hesitantly agrees, and asks what Mary had in mind. She shows Paige a flyer for the jewellery- making event at Off Air…
All the tables are adorned with pots of beads, and Mary and Paige are among the customers making jewellery from them. They seem to be enjoying themselves, if a little awkwardly. Mary asks after Mark, and what's stopping him and Paige from getting back together. Paige says it's complicated, and changes the subject. They get back to the beads and enjoying themselves.
Daniel pays a visit to Josh and hands him an envelope containing $2,000, saying it's a loan to help him get back on his feet. At first Josh insists he doesn't want Daniel's help.
DANIEL: Well, it's not just about you anymore, is it?
JOSH: I don't have to explain myself to you.
DANIEL: No, but you're gonna have to explain yourself to Amber at some point, right?
JOSH: That's my problem and not yours.
Daniel tells him not to be an idiot and take the cash.
JOSH: Why would you want to help me?
DANIEL: Why wouldn't I?
JOSH: You and Amber broke up. Don't you have a little bit of resentment towards me?
DANIEL: And what good would that do?
Daniel also lays into Josh for being so harsh on Imogen, when she ‘put herself on the line' for him.
DANIEL: Imogen must really love you to have done what she did, and if you can't see that then you're a bigger jerk than I ever thought. So are you gonna take the money or not?
Paige and Mary are still making jewellery and still seem to be getting along quite well. Mary says there's something she wanted to ask Paige. But at that moment Tyler interrupts, and asks if he can talk to Paige for a minute.
While Mary goes to pay the bill, Tyler sits down and asks if Paige is okay, following her freak- out earlier when he told her about the police sting. Paige points out that even though Mark doesn't think she was involved at the moment, Dimato and Michelle will still drop her in it, as they have the video footage of Bailey stealing the car. She's also worried she'll drop herself in it in her own police statement.
Tyler apologises for getting Paige involved, but she says they both made choices, and both have to live with them. Paige leaves, and Tyler's phone starts ringing. It's Joey Dimato…
Josh is still sulking as Imogen tries to talk to him. She explains she was only trying to stop him from getting into trouble, as he would have gone to jail if he'd been caught selling dodgy peptides. Feeling guilty nonetheless, she offers to pitch in with his bills until he gets another job. Josh softens a little, telling her it's not necessary, as Daniel has given him a loan.
IMOGEN: Daniel Robinson?
JOSH: Who else?
IMOGEN: But, he…
JOSH: Hmm. I know, that's what I said to him.
IMOGEN: And what did he say?
JOSH: That I should be grateful that I have a sister like you. And that he just wanted to help out.
IMOGEN: And you said yes?
JOSH: I don't have much of a choice, do I?
IMOGEN: I can't believe he did that.
JOSH: It's not really surprising when you think about it.
IMOGEN: What do you mean?
JOSH: Well, he's still in love with Amber, right?
JOSH: But that's his problem, not mine. And if this cash helps take care of the baby, then I'm not gonna knock it back.
Imogen looks concerned.
Amber is finishing up a shift in order to head off for a paid photography job with Sheila, and tells Lauren it could be published in a print mag. As Amber leaves, Paige turns up to take over, and admits to Lauren that she had a good time with Mary. Lauren's pleased that Mary and Paige are reconnecting, but Paige isn't getting carried away yet.
Lauren says Tyler was here earlier looking for her. Paige says he found her, and that he just wanted to talk about something from when she worked at the garage.
LAUREN: Well I'd better get back to work. But I want you to know that I am so proud of how you've handled all of this.
PAIGE: I love you.
LAUREN: I love you to.
PAIGE: I just wanted to make sure that you knew that.
LAUREN: Yeah, of course I do!
Paige is clearly worried about something, and now Lauren is too.
It turns out that Amber's photography job for Sheila is taking pictures of Amy, posing in Kyle's ute in her work- clothes for the Most Unique Tradie competition. Sheila is trying to get her to do a ‘hot' pose with an electric drill in the style of Charlie's Angels.
AMY: Why don't I put my bikini on and rub myself in baby oil? (!)
SHEILA: That is genius!
AMY: I was joking, Sheila. I'm a carpenter.
Kyle comes out and calls Sheila a ‘dirty rotten trader' for helping Amy with the competition. Sheila objects that Kyle wasn't interested in entering, but now he claims he's thinking about it. Amy encourages Kyle to enter, but he says he doesn't want to compete against her.
AMY: Oh, what's wrong? Are you too scared of losing, Canning?
KYLE: I was trying to be a gentleman, actually!
AMY: Right! Because, you know, you'd win hands down. (!)
Amy dares Kyle to enter.
AMY: I'm not afraid of a good- looking guy with a dog. I'm a cute chick with a ute.
KYLE: The ute's mine!
Kyle agrees to enter the competition, and they shake on it.
Indoors, Sheila is on the phone to Naomi's voicemail, wanting to know if she'll be home for dinner.
SHEILA: It's your mother – remember me? Short, blonde, colourful?
Once she's finished, she moans to Kyle about how Naomi's never around since going public with her relationship with Paul. Kyle suggests that Sheila should be more welcoming to Paul if she wants to see more of Naomi, and says she should call Naomi back and invite both of them to dinner.
SHEILA: Accepting their relationship is one thing. But pigs will fly before I invite that man into my house!
KYLE: It's his house!
Kyle has fashioned a home- made selfie stick, and in the living room he uses it to take pictures of himself in a high- vis jacket, posing with Bossy. Amy comes in and taunts him for his unprofessional approach, but Kyle thinks the competition voters will love it as it's ‘fair dinkum and down- to- earth'! Amy goads Kyle into uploading the picture as his entry, and he happily does so.
Mark confronts Tyler about not having answered his phone to Joey Dimato earlier, revealing in the process that the police knew as they were tapping his phone. Tyler explains that he panicked and didn't know what to say to Joey – but Mark says that from now on, if any of Dimato's goons call Tyler, he needs to answer, as he doesn't want them getting suspicious.
MARK: If you're not up to this, you need to say something now.
TYLER: I made a deal. I can do it.
Tyler is frustrated as Mark walks off. Paige, who has been watching their encounter, asks Tyler if they were discussing the case. Tyler admits Joey called. Paige tells Tyler she's decided to tell Lauren about her involvement and about Bailey's car theft. Even though she's sure Lauren will be devastated, she's decided she can't have her finding out another way.
Daniel praises the jewellery- making event as ‘the best afternoon we've had in ages, and all thanks to some string and beads.' Imogen, who's helping him clear up, admits that she was wrong and that it was a good idea after all. She also tells Daniel that Josh has told her about the $2,000 loan, and says Josh feels uncomfortable in accepting it because of Daniel's ‘motivation'.
DANIEL: I wasn't aware I had a motivation, except to try and be helpful.
IMOGEN: Daniel. Come on.
DANIEL: You think this is about Amber?
IMOGEN: Of course it is. You love her.
DANIEL: And that's what Josh thinks as well?
IMOGEN: Well, wouldn't you if you were in his shoes?
DANIEL: Look, tell him to relax. I care for Amber, but I don't love her anymore.
IMOGEN: Just like that?
DANIEL: Yeah. It's crazy, huh? Once I stopped wanting her so bad, I realised that it Wasn't Meant To Be™ in the first place.
Imogen looks surprised.
Paige sits on a bench, writing a letter to Lauren.
PAIGE (voiceover): Dear Mum – there's something I wanted to tell you. But I couldn't bring myself to go through with it because I always pictured the look of betrayal in your eyes. I've broken the law. And so has Bailey.
Paige stops writing and looks pensive.
Paige comes in with what looks like a letter, presumably to give it to Lauren – but Mary, who is sitting at a table, calls her over. Mary notices Paige looks spooked, and asks her what's up. Paige says she needs to sort something out, and can't avoid it for much longer.
MARY: Maybe you can. Sit down. I've been trying to find the right time to ask you. I'd like you to come to Singapore with me.
PAIGE: To Singapore?!
MARY: Well, you could stay for as short a time or as long as you like. And whatever this problem is, maybe you can escape it?
Paige looks conflicted, and glances around at Lauren in the background before sighing.
