Naomi is hurling darts aggressively at the dartboard when Paul comes in. She makes it crystal clear she's annoyed with him. She reveals she was suspicious that he'd tried to get her out of the way earlier, so she cancelled her spa and returned to the flat, where she overheard him talking to Mary about her.
Paul explains that Mary asked for Naomi not to be involved, because some of the clients she was arranging the event for are close friends with Charles Tranner – and that they wouldn't go with Lassiter's if they knew Naomi was involved. Naomi softens a little, but is still annoyed that Paul lied to her about it. However, Paul promises to make it up to Naomi later, and they kiss.
Forrest and Imogen come in, having arranged to meet for a self- defence class – but Imogen makes out that she had the ulterior motive of wanting to spend time with Forrest. They flirt with each other as he shows her some moves; but Imogen sees Josh walk in, and makes an excuse to go to the bar. Josh drops off a bag for Forrest, which someone left at the gym for him, then leaves again.
Imogen returns from the bar, but Forrest suddenly says he'd better leave. Imogen tries to convince him not to bail on what she calls their date, and suggests he show her some more moves. Forrest agrees to stay.
Jimmy and Kyle are throwing a footie around as they enter the back garden with Amy. Sonya and Toadie are setting up for a barbecue in order to cheer up a grisly Nell, and invite Kyle to stay for dinner. But when Sonya asks Jimmy if he'd mind looking after Nell while they prepare, Jimmy bluntly says that he'd rather not. Annoyed at his refusal, Amy insists Jimmy should do what he's asked – and when he still says he doesn't want to look after Nell, Amy marches him inside to do it anyway.
Naomi and Sheila are talking about Paul lying to her in order to get her away from the contract negotiations. Sheila remarks that Naomi doesn't know what else Paul might be lying to her about, implying that something more might have happened between him and Mary (adding that at least Mary is ‘age appropriate'!) Naomi tells Sheila to stop stirring.
NAOMI: I will have you know that any man who has experienced the eighth wonder of the world that is a night with Naomi Canning has never failed to come back for more.
SHEILA: Didn't stop them going for more somewhere else at the same time, though, did it?
NAOMI: I miss you having lockjaw. Why can't you just be a supportive, reassuring mother like on a TV commercial?
SHEILA: Because when you love somebody, you tell them the truth. You don't treat them as though they are your dirty little secret.
Naomi denies that this is what Paul is doing; but at that moment Amber turns up with the photographs she took at Paige's twenty- first party. Showing them a photo of Naomi and Paul, Amber is quick to reassure Naomi that she's ‘kept that one under wraps', after Paul asked her to keep it off social media! Sheila smiles in an ‘I told you so' kind of way.
NAOMI: Shut up, Mum. Shut up.
Forrest and Imogen's date continues, as he invites her back to his place to watch ‘The Fast & The Furious' movies. But Imogen suggests he buy her another drink first. While he's at the bar, she looks suspiciously at the bag Josh brought in for him – but at that moment Daniel comes in, back from his mini- getaway to Phillip Island.
Daniel's not pleased when he learns Imogen's on a date with Forrest, saying he doesn't seem like her type.
IMOGEN: Well, first- year uni's all about trying different types.
DANIEL: I just can't imagine you guys having a conversation. Why waste your time on something that isn't gonna go anywhere?
But before Imogen can respond, Forrest rejoins them with drinks, cutting the conversation short.
Jimmy has said to Kyle that he wants to go in the pool, but Amy won't allow it due to his misbehaviour earlier. She apologises to Kyle, Toadie and Sonya, adding that she hates disciplining Jimmy in front of other people.
KYLE: Oh, that's nothing. When I mucked up, Mum'd put the hose on me! And then Gran'd get upset and put the hose on her, and Mum would put it back onto Gran – and anyway, we all looked very messy!
Nell, who has been with Jimmy on the lawn, suddenly cries out, and everyone rushes over to see what's wrong. Toadie and Sonya immediately assume that Jimmy has pushed or accidentally hurt Nell, but Amy defends him, saying Jimmy would admit it if that was the case. Everyone asks Jimmy what happened, but he isn't talking.
Forrest asks Imogen ‘what the story is' with her and Daniel, saying he doesn't want to be used to make Daniel jealous. Imogen insists that's not what she's doing.
FORREST: Sometimes I can tell when a girl's faking it, and I'm getting that vibe right now.
He tells her to make up her mind what she wants, while he pays for the drinks. At that moment, Amber comes in to drop off some of Daniel's things that were left at No 32. It's awkward between them, and Amber leaves again.
When Forrest returns to the table, Imogen says they should get out of here and go somewhere private. Seemingly surprised, Forrest follows her out…

Paul is on the phone to Mary discussing the event contract, when Naomi comes in, and rips into him for asking Amber to suppress the photos of them as a couple at Paige's party.
NAOMI: ‘Cause I'd hate to leave a paper trail that would risk the West Waratah Star uncovering the scandal that is Naomi- gate (!)
Paul says it was a purely political decision, saying that it doesn't look great, being the mayor, that Naomi is both his assistant and his partner.
NAOMI: The people of Erinsborough voted you into office knowing that you've been in prison, that you have been divorced five times that I know of…
PAUL: Now come on, that's not fair.
NAOMI: But they're not the real reason, are they? It's that you don't mind seeing me behind closed doors, but out in public – no, no, no, no, no.
PAUL: You know that's not true.
NAOMI: You are just like all the rest. You're just like Charles; you're just like my manager at that shoe store in Frankston; you are just like Tuffy Delton at the Blue Light Disco.
NAOMI: Never mind! But you know, the only man I've ever dated who's been happy to show me off in public is Mark Brennan. But I threw that away because of you. So you know what – I quit!
PAUL: What do you mean, you quit? Me or the job?
NAOMI: Oh, you figure it out!
Naomi stomps off, leaving Paul looking perplexed.
Sonya, Toadie and Nell are hiding out after the awkwardness at home earlier with Amy and Jimmy. Sonya says Nell's been in a bad mood lately and is sure it's something to do with Jimmy. Just as Toadie contemplates the possibility of asking Amy and Jimmy to leave, Nell bites him!
Sonya tells her off, then says she doesn't want Amy and Jimmy to leave. Toadie says he doesn't either, but that Nell should feel comfortable in her own home – at which point she bites him a second time! The Rebecchis begin to wonder whether Nell is the one to blame for the tension with Jimmy…
Meanwhile, Sheila is texting Naomi trying to find out where she is, and asks Josh, who has just come in, whether he's seen her around. Josh hasn't seen her; but during their conversation Sheila mentions that Imogen came to the hospital after Kyle collapsed, and asked him questions about the supplements Josh sold him. Josh asks Sheila to tell him exactly what Imogen was asking…
Naomi is sitting at the bar looking forlorn. She gets a text from Sheila, asking what happened with Paul, but ignores it. Daniel asks Naomi if she wants to talk about whatever's wrong, and she says no.
DANIEL: Don't bottle it up. It's bad for the soul.
NAOMI: You know, you Robinsons think you know everything, don't you? But when it comes to love, you know nothing.
DANIEL: … I second that.
NAOMI: I'm sorry; that was very insensitive.
DANIEL: Don't worry. There was something so fundamentally wrong with me and Amber; and I just – I ignored it for as long as I could.
NAOMI: How do you know if there's something fundamentally wrong?
DANIEL: The same problems keep coming up, and they don't go away… Sometimes you're just watering the roots of a tree that's already dead.
NAOMI: So Paul and I are a dying tree?
DANIEL: Only you can know that.
Naomi looks worried.
In the garden, Amy is doing the barbecuing, while Kyle and Jimmy watch from a distance. Kyle comes over, and asks if Amy wants to talk about the tension with Toadie and Sonya. She's not keen, pointing out that Kyle is Toadie and Sonya's friend; but he admits he's her mate too, ‘in a workmate kind of way'.
Sonya and Toadie arrive back from the pub with Nell. They explain that Nell has just bitten Toadie a few times, and asks Jimmy if she did the same to him. Jimmy admits that Nell has bitten him twice, but says he didn't want to make a big deal of it by telling them.
JIMMY: You've just all been so nice.
Sonya and Amy each apologise for the tension earlier, and Toadie apologises to Jimmy for Nell having bitten him. But Kyle points out that the real issue is how they're going to curb her Jaws- like behaviour!
It's now dark, and Forrest pulls up in his car with Imogen. They've just been to see a movie, and now he wants to enjoy ‘the scenery' – so he puts a hand on Imogen's leg. Surprised, Imogen says they're not quite at that stage yet.
FORREST: I don't have time for schoolgirls, Imogen.
He leans in, and Imogen leans towards him for a kiss. But at that moment, Forrest gets a call from Josh, and when it stops ringing, Imogen persuades Forrest to call Josh back. He gets out of the car to make the call.
The Waterhole / Somewhere
Answering Forrest's call, Josh explains why he was trying to ring – saying that Imogen has been digging for information about the supplements from Kyle. Josh says he just wanted to give Forrest the heads- up, as he knows he sees Imogen around a lot.
While this conversation's going on, Forrest has his back turned to the car – and Imogen uses this as an opportunity to open his bag and take some of the illegal supplements. Forrest turns around and looks at her suspiciously, as he tells Josh that he'll bear in mind what he's told him.

Naomi comes in with another diatribe for Paul.
NAOMI: Okay – so the old Naomi, when she wanted something, she would just go for it. No matter whether it was too expensive, or married, or completely age- inappropriate. And then she saw how destructive it could be, so she changed to a new Naomi. A Naomi that looked twice before she crossed the road. But then after a time, this new Naomi, she played everything so safe – I mean, what kind of life is that? So now, this new, new Naomi – you know, she still wants to take some risks. But she's decided she needs to be smarter about it. You know, you were right. It is a bad look for a mayor to date his assistant, and nobody would take you or me seriously. So it is the job, or us.
NAOMI: I choose us.
Naomi announces she's quitting her job with Paul and restarting Naomi Canning Enterprises, so that at least they can give their relationship a proper go. Paul then leads her over to his computer, where he shows her that he's announced their relationship on social media. Naomi is overwhelmed.
NAOMI: That is the most romantic thing anyone's ever done for me – that didn't cost any money or take any effort!
Paul tells her she doesn't have to quit her job, but she says she does, for her sake and theirs. They kiss and laugh.
Forrest gets back in the car, and tells Imogen that she seems ‘a bit different'. She's clearly nervous, but claims that it was just Josh calling that put a dampener on things – and says she wants to go home now.
FORREST: We only just got here.
IMOGEN: And I want to go home.
But Forrest gropes around in Imogen's bag, finding the pills she's taken from his own. Imogen tries to claim they're hers, but Forrest knows better.
Shortly afterwards, Imogen claims she was looking for aspirin in Forrest's bag, as she felt sick. But Forrest isn't buying it, and demands to know why she stole the supplements. Out of excuses, Imogen whacks Forrest in the face, grabs the pill bottle from him, then makes a dash for it out of the car! But she trips over, and Forrest catches up, making a grab for her leg. Imogen picks up a branch…
