Previously on Neighbours
- Mark unamused at Aaron bailing Tyler out.
- Aaron wanting to know if Nate is jealous of him?
- Aaron turning down Sheila's contract.
- Sheila demanding Nate get Aaron signed up.
- Nate/Aaron unamused that Sheila won't be running the bingo.
- Amy being cat- called while working.
- Paul unamused at seeing his daughter cat- called and firing Kyle after he wasn't please how he sorted things out (with a six pack of beer).
Outside hospital
Kyle is packing up his stuff when Amy comes back and is bemused at him packing up early, so he explains that Paul fired him and why. She backs how he dealt with the cat-caller and comments that indirectly Paul has made her unemployed too!
The Waterhole
Karl isn't amused at Sheila poaching Aaron back and makes his displeasure know and much to Nate's bewilderment, can understand what Sheila is staying back to him (she still can't speak properly thanks to her lock-jaw). Nate and the newly arrived Aaron explain what actually happened to Karl and reluctantly he heads back to Off Air.
Penthouse suite
"Haven't you learned anything about interfering in my life yet?" Amy greets her father with after arriving in the penthouse suite. Paul tries to explain that he'd no option but to let Kyle go as he'd breeched the terms of his contract. "What terms?!" she asks and he explains in corporate language it was him handing over the six pack of beer that did it and suggests that she takes over the project herself when she brought up that he'd made her unemployed.
AMY: I'm sorry, are there terms covering nepotism too or do you just bother with the ones that suit you?
Paul tries to defend himself by suggesting that she'd have got the contract if she'd been around earlier because she's a better worker than Kyle. However Amy isn't buying his plan and points out that it's backfired on them all before rapidly leaving the suite.
Outdoor exercise area/Lassiters Complex
Josh is impressed with the workout Tyler is doing however he's not tempted by the sales pitch for supplements that Josh tried to tempt him with.
"I need a man, a buff man, a sexy man," Karl is telling the person at the other end of the phone as he walks through the complex but whatever the price he's been quoted, it's too high than he is prepared to pay however he spots a Plan B when he catches sight of Josh/Tyler working out on the outdoor equipment and makes his way towards them.
KARL: If I pay you, would you take your tops off?
JOSH: You have any idea how wrong that sounds?
KARL: Oh.
TYLER: You know my mum warned me about strange men in parks!
Karl then explains to them what he really meant - he wants them working a shift as topless waiters in Off Air. Tyler readily agrees and offers to work for free since he still owes him and Josh agrees too after enquiring what he will get (market rates).
The Waterhole
While Nate deals with the silent bingo punters, Sheila has roped Kyle in to being their topless waiter and sends Karl a pic of him before he gets to work.
Off Air
Karl scoffs at the accompanying text message to the pic of Kyle (I am on a winner) that Sheila has sent him. He is quickly plotting his comeback - smearing oil over the topless Tyler before asking him to pose sexily. "This is not what I signed up for," Tyler replies but is simply told to "get on with it" so he poses away as Karl snaps his pic on his mobile.
The Waterhole
Sheila doesn't look too amused at the pic she's received from Karl of Tyler posing away!
Meanwhile, monotone Nate tries to cajole the bored looking punters that they can win a meat tray with the next game of bingo but before that, there will be some entertainment.
AARON: Put a bit of pizazz into it Kinski, it's not a wake!
Totally changing his persona, a now enthusiastic Nate introduces Aaron and even the bored punters suddenly come alive at this point too especially the hen party ladies!
Number 30
Amy is unloading to Sonya on what her dad did and that she doesn't think Kyle was wrong in his handling of the situation because "that's how tradies communicate" and the sledging, whistling etc. is just part of the job. Sonya tries to get her to think about breaking the cycle (men leering at women and other men being apologists for it) so that their kids don't grow to be part of it.
Police Station
Whilst looking into the Dimato case, Mark and asks his Sergeant what's happening with Michelle and is told that they are contemplating doing a deal with Tyler to help put a sting on her. Mark is not happy that they are thinking about using his brother (an untrained civilian and who he doesn't think is up to the job) to do that role but is forced to consider it when the Sergeant tells him what the deal will be - no jail time because there would be no record of his involvement.
Off Air
Sonya and Toadie are waiting for Amy to join them for a drink but she thinks that Amy might be put off seeing half-naked men around the place. Toadie convinces her to stay (and wait for Amy) but they move away to a quieter spot.
Mark enters the bar and asks Tyler to put on some clothes and accompany him to the station. Tyler doesn't want to leave as he is working but Mark makes it clear refusal isn't an option!
Lassiters Complex
Kyle/Amy run into each other as he exits The Waterhole. She asks him to put in a formal complaint about the guy but Kyle refuses to do so because it's already been sorted however agrees that if they do work together again and something happens, he'll handle things differently. "It isn't for me," Amy comments before walking off to Off Air.
Off Air
As he comes over to their table, Toadie asks Karl why Mark took Tyler away but he doesn't know, and is more concerned about being a topless waiter down! Josh comes over to see Karl, concerned about his skin being inflamed.
KARL: Oh dear! As a doctor I'd say you're suffering from an allergic reaction to the oil you put on but as a bar owner I'll say you'll live!
JOSH: Is that it?
KARL: No, no, there's a table of ladies over there begging for your attention!
Josh tells him that he can't go looking as he does and departs to clean himself up. Karl is now frustrated at having no topless waiters thus tries to enlist Toadie into getting his shirt off.
TOADIE: No... but thank you!
KARL: Please, you're all I've got. I wouldn't ask if I wasn't desperate!
TOADIE: Oh thank you!
KARL: Toad, I started ladies night here. If I don't come up with a man I'll have a lot of angry women to deal with.
Toad's reply to that is to ask Karl why he isn't getting his top off and the best he can come up with is that as an owner it wouldn't be appropriate.
TOADIE: Well as the local lawyer, it would be equally inappropriate for me to do it too. I could have some clients here!
Sonya is against the whole thing happening as its demeaning... and Karl now suddenly agrees with her and announces to all the punters that he's decided to let the topless waiters go and explains to them why.
Off Air (exterior)
Meanwhile outside, Mark is explaining things to his brother and he agrees to do it. Mark wants Tyler to really think about it because it's serious but all Tyler is really seeing is the carrot of no jail time, so he's taking the deal.
The Waterhole
Kyle looks extremely relieved when the hen party finally leave (and their harassment of him comes to an end) and as he tidies up with Aaron, comments that there appears to be one rule for ladies and another for men hence why he's not putting in the complaint Amy asked him to. Aaron isn't pleased at the guy getting away with it, commenting that it isn't fair.
AARON: You and I set ourselves up for this tonight, 'cos it's our job but it's not Amy's job is it?
KYLE: She says it happens to her all the time.
AARON: Okay, so imagine if every time you had to build something some woman came up and slapped you in the bum and acted just like bride tonight, how would that be?
KYLE: Yes, that would suck.
AARON: Yes it would.
Off Air
After Sonya brings Amy up to speed on tonight's events, Amy asks why Toadie didn't go topless and he jokes that it was so the ladies didn't lose their minds! "How noble of you thinking of other people," Sonya tells him.
Amy departs after getting a text from Kyle asking them to meet and she appears to not be the only person to leave as the place suddenly looks deserted! Karl puts it down to it being a school night, it getting late (yet Amy's phone said it was only 7.05!) and finally on Mondayitis!
Penthouse suite
Kyle (and Amy) arrive at the penthouse suite and he tells Paul about his plan to put in a formal complaint about Gav... "like I should have in the first place." Paul is pleased to hear that but isn't when Amy says she is going to put in a formal complaint about him if he doesn't give Kyle his job back! "On what grounds?" he asks and she explains that while technically yes Kyle had alcohol on the jobsite but it wasn't open and the tradie who he gave it to wasn't an employee of his.
AMY: That's grounds for unfair dismissal.
Paul instantly caves and gives Kyle his job back, which he is grateful for and thanks him before leaving.
Despite what Paul did, Amy still isn't pleased with her father and points out to him that she's not nine years old anymore and that he can't come swinging in on her behalf all the time. "Okay," Paul replies and seems somewhat pleased at her standing up to him as she departs.
The Waterhole
Sheila is watching the video of Karl explaining why he's stopped the topless waiters at Off Air and with her voice now back, calls him a hypocrite (nothing new there!) because in fact The Waterhole crushed him/Off Air!
Sheila puts the win over Off Air down to team work and Aaron jokes with her that it was all him! She leaves Nate in charge while she gets a stranded drunken member of the hen party into a taxi.
Nate admits to Aaron that watching him perform was amazing and that the hostility is down to the fact that he likes him. Aaron is virtually speechless at the admission, more so because he'd not realised. Seconds after he's said those words, Nate starts laughing and Aaron wants to kick himself for falling for it!
AARON: I actually believed you. You know, you're actually cute when you're not being so uptight.
Aaron then heads over to where Nate is standing to get something, but when he stands up after retrieving it, the pair gaze into each other's eyes before Aaron leaves forward to kiss him... then pulls back at the last moment.
AARON: Ha, you're not the only joker around here mate.
"Catch you the next time," he adds before exiting the bar.
Police Station
Mark escorts Toadie into the station, he wants him to advise Tyler before he signs up to the deal on the table. However it's too late, Tyler has already agreed to the deal and the ball has already began rolling as he's called Michelle to arrange a meeting tomorrow.
TYLER: It's on.
Unmissable drama
- Mark giving Tyler advice as he rigs him up for the meeting.
- Toadie reminding Tyler that he can pull out.
- Michelle warning Tyler about getting on the wrong side of Dimato.
- Mark reporting that the feed has gone down and he's going into the garage.
